So Happy!

I LOVE SmartCookies!! First this is not something I’d use to manage the whole troop. (I’m a Leader) BUT for each of my 3 daughters and individually for many of the other 10 girls in our troop SmartCookies is great! Not perfect, but so easy to use!
• I love that we can accept CC’s! • That we can enter orders and mark delivered or not. • At delivery choose cash or CC for payment. • I like that the messy order card can be entered into a clean, organized, and reference-able place. (I also like that if a girl enters the wrong type of cookie in a sale, it doesn’t effect the master troop inventory. It’s just a tool to help girls and families keep track and utilize CC sales too.)
* Now what I’m not fond of is mainly the need for each sale to enter a email. People don’t want to give that. I would not want to give my email to the many girls I buy from. So I enter my email for all orders (of my girls) and have them sent to a Special Folder in my email. Because it does send a thank you and follow up email later.

When you design an app that is not user friendly

If the goal of app development was to encourage people not to use SmartCookies ...Mission Accomplished!

So many bugs and points of frustration.

Rather than type lengthy paragraphs...let’s just write some bullets.

- Having to login every time! No remember me feature, no login with thumbprint. So annoying.

-no inventory tracking. It would be great if we could log how much inventory we have of each cookie and as we log sales there is real time updates, allowing for ease of balancing.

- the gluten free cookie is not even an option in the menu.

-the girl delivery order taker is absolutely ridiculous. If my daughter is out selling on her wagon and is tracking her sales, to go through three screens is just ridiculous. And to have required fields such as email is unnecessary and discouraging. What’s the point if 99% of the time we are entering a bogus email address to log the order.

-to update an order whether it has been paid and or delivered is just as ridiculous.

-the filters are useless, the ability to just see open orders should be an option. While there is value in paid and delivered, she just wants to see what’s open.

- this doesn’t feel like an app, feels more like a website converted to appear an an app.

-0 stars if possible.

-not sure how you continue to make this worse each year, but you are quite successful at it.

App is better, but needs tweaks

SmartCookies is better than last year, but still needs some improvement. The social media links are odd- they go to the abc cookie pages - and pasting the girl’s link works only for Facebook. The link gets truncated when pasted into an Instagram profile & the abcsmartcookie page only appears to allow people to log in. They do not appear to be able to search for a girl to buy cookies.

In SmartCookies , the girls can’t view order details without going through edit mode. After any look or edit of anyone’s order, an update email is being sent to the first contact I entered- not sure if it goes to the email on the actual order updated. (Thankfully, the one getting every update is my email.)

Also, we have GF cookies to sell, but these appear to be a selection option only for mail order cookies. We are unable to select them for the girl delivered cookies.

The dashboard doesn’t credit the sales to the girl until a troop leader goes in to transfer cookies to that girl. Anytime we order more cookies, the troop leader also has to remember to enter this in SmartCookies under the girl.

Non Responsiveness

My mom ordered 100 boxes cookies ($400) on 1/29 and the website indicates all orders will be processed within 72 hours. It’s 2/10 and I still haven’t received any shipping information. When I log into SmartCookies it indicates the order has been delivered. I’ve sent multiple emails to the email address on the site and haven’t received a response back!!! We paid $60 in shipping and haven’t received anything. My mom went out of her way to purchase from my kids troop and could have easily purchased cookies in her hometown. These cookies were meant to be Valentine’s Day gifts for her essential workers. This is terrible and Girl Scouts and this crappy website should be ashamed of themselves. It’s one thing to have delayed shipping it’s a whole other thing to have delayed processing of orders. Shame on u and I will no longer be doing business through this venue!!!

Worst App Ever

Where do I start? SmartCookies is so bad in so many ways.
1. When you upload a profile picture, it stretches and distorts it.
2. When you take an order, it forces you to enter an email address. No one ordering cookies wants to give out their email addresses and get spammed. You can get around this by entering a fake email address, but it is an extra, unnecessary step for the girl taking the order.
3. The process for taking credit cards is horrible and cumbersome. You have to mark an order as delivered and pays before you can enter the credit card information.
4. The total sold on the dashboard only includes direct ship orders, not manually entered orders.
5. If someone orders cookies to be shipped directly to them via the shareable link, SmartCookies does not tell you who ordered them, so there is no way to thank the person.
6. SmartCookies does not provide a way to keep track of what inventory you have. This would be very easy to do.

There is probably more I could think of, but overall, SmartCookies is so clunky and buggy, they should not have released it. Very little has changed since last year’s sucky app. They had a whole year to work on it.

Worse than before

The revamp on SmartCookies has made it less friendly than before. It used to be very user friendly. Before it resembled an app now it’s no more than a shortcut to a mobile website. You could also get a summary of your orders for reporting to your cookie manager. Now not only do you not have that feature it’s not as user friendly as it was. Also I have to log In Every time where as before it kept me logged in so it was very fast and convenient to take orders. While it’s nice that it saves your contacts to your list it’s more trouble than it’s worth. We entered an order 3 times before figuring out that if they were entered last year then they are already in your contacts and you can’t select “add to contacts” or it won’t save the order.

Not great for customers, medium for girls

When buying via social link, customers have no confirmation of the girl, or even at a basic level, the troop, they are purchasing from. Even the email confirmation once a parent approves a girl delivery does not show the girl’s name. Lots of negative feedback from customers about this.

The e-card option at least allows a little video option, along with a cute survey of the girl’s goals, who she is raising money for, and her favorite cookie. However, there is not an option to turn off COD for e-card orders. I don’t want to be out $$$ if, at the time of delivery, people change mind/don’t pay.

As another reviewer noted, no easy inventory/re-up order manager.

Keyed in orders don’t allow for payment within SmartCookies . So you must either deal with cash, or a parent organizes Venmo.

All of this is not ideal, more so due to pandemic cookie sales environment

Card scan still doesn’t work

Second cookie season in a row we’ve been told that you can scan credit cards instead of having to type them in on Apple devices. It still doesn’t work.

Like the new booth feature though. It would however be nice to be able to set a quick access button to a given booth so you don’t have as many steps to get back to it. The credit card process already takes long enough

True disappointment

SmartCookies is pretty useless! Main reason to get SmartCookies was to accept credit card payments for Girl Scout cookies. It doesn’t even allow you to enter a credit card number when u finally get to that point. This is way too hard to use on top of that it doesn’t even work for credit cards. The sage app that we used last year was way better and it even worked! I guess nobody tested SmartCookies. The developer obviously doesn’t use it for what we need it for. Very disappointed in SmartCookies. Going to lose sales since many people like to buy with credit cards. Oh well cash sales only!

Somehow worse than prior years

Just when I thought that SmartCookies couldn’t get any worse, they somehow managed to find a twist that makes it even more awful. Never mind the login problems or the glitches, now you have to enter someone’s functioning email to record their order. We don’t collect emails from people when we’re taking their cookie orders, and even if we did I don’t think I would be comfortable sharing them with ABC Bakers. So I’ll guess I’m back to tracking with pen and paper. On the upside, I guess I finally get to delete this from my phone.

Bugs and glitches

I was excited about the credit card option. It does work, but there’s no option to scan the card even for iPhone as promised. I agree with other comments about the ridiculousness of requiring an email address. I just use my own but now my mailbox is flooded. Some options are only available on the desktop version which defeats the purpose of an app. My biggest complaint is that somehow I have duplicate orders popping up. This seriously threw me off when I was reviewing inventory and planning my next order. Pitiful.

It’s not good

SmartCookies is useful to check totals quick but outside of that you need to use a desktop browser. The curser doesn’t even work in SmartCookies when trying to edit type. It forces SmartCookies to jump to the bottom of the page. Incredibly irritating! Navigating SmartCookies is cumbersome and half the data you need isn’t available. The scroll function rarely works correctly when trying to scroll through troop members and troop data isn’t even available in app. Honestly, what use is this?

Couldn’t log in at first

Leader login doesn’t work but if you get an invitation to register your scout from your cookie leader you can register your girl individually. This really needs to be made more clear in the description. We don’t use COCO anymore!
As for SmartCookies itself- it’s working great so far, but our cookie sales don’t start until Feb so I’ll update then.
As a side note- it would be nice if there was a leader app.

I don’t like the 2019 version of this

They said it’s revamped but that’s not a good thing. The other application was simpler to get orders in and then use the website for my daughters profile and sales along with troop. All I want SmartCookies to do is handle orders and track our inventory. This new app is basically the same as the web browser which is not an improvement. If I wanted an app based browser I would use the browser. Bring back the 2018 version of SmartCookies !

Won’t update sales

I just started helping my daughter sell cookies, and people have been purchasing them through her link. However, it says it last updated her number of boxes sold yesterday at 11:50am. It hasn’t updated since so I have no idea who else has actually ordered anything or how many boxes she’s at now. I keep refreshing SmartCookies , the website, logging in and out, installing any updates needed on my computer and phone and still nothing. It’s so frustrating!

Not working

I own a iPhone and SmartCookies is constantly crashing and stays in the uploading screen. The customer service is pointless to call because they can do really help you and tell you to call council! I have deleted SmartCookies several times, deleted it out of iCloud, shut my phone down and restart it and still doesn’t work.. seriously this is ridiculous especially with cookie season about to start in two days!!

Highly disappointed in this new app they say is suppose to be helpful for troops.

Good, but needs some upgrades

SmartCookies has a lot of good functionality- you can easily track unpaid & undelivered orders, export sales to a file to see overall totals, easily enter sales and see progress toward overall sales goals. I would like to be able to input ‘other sales’ in SmartCookies , so I don’t have to toggle to the website, and it would be nice to see how many boxes I’ve received/have on hand. Love cookie share!!

Inventory system, CC payment

Inventory integration leaves a lot to be desired. Hard to see where the girl is in the goal because all of inventory shows as “sold”. Also, SmartCookies doesn’t integrate with any CC readers, so at booth sales, you end up having to manually type all CC information. Recommend ABC take a look at Traile End app for ideas on improvement next year.

Not all features transfer to mobile app/site

For instance I don’t have the option to mimic a user when using SmartCookies on my iPhone or accessing the desktop site in Safari. I can only use this feature when on a lap/desktop and as a busy leader and mom on the go I have my iPhone as my phone and computer.

Needs work

SmartCookies works great for taking orders but that’s about it. There is no way to get the cookie by cookie breakdown without opening every order and adding them all up by yourself. Hopefully they will add a reports page in the future to help families keep track, especially if a family had multiple troops within it.

Great until...

This was the only way I was keeping track of cookie sales now SmartCookies doesn’t recognize my log in! I can’t get in to see what I’ve already ordered or to add new ones but my log in works perfectly fine on the website! This needs to be fixed ASAP!

Actually 0 stars

SmartCookies gets worse every year, I swear. You can’t do Anything from it this year except see how many boxes sold. No order taking, can’t send emails, and I can’t find the shareable link even when I sign into the program on the computer. Horrible. Just awful. A lot of our friends and family live far away and we rely on this program to help with sales and this may cause my girl to miss her goal. Thanks for nothing, ABC bakers.

Great App!!

It’s so easy to use and keep track of the orders! I’m not sure about the other people with bad reviews having trouble signing in. If you’re registered at ABC Smart Cookies you shouldn’t have problems with SmartCookies at all!

Hard to use and ineffective

If I could give this less than one star I would!

Last years version was tons better. This version doesn’t do anything easy. Every order must have an email address. Which is not always needed. It doesn’t communicate with our troop cookie person and it doesn’t let you know how many boxes are ordered. We stopped using it and just went old school.

Email Receipts & Log In Issues

Whereas SmartCookies worked very well before, somehow I’ve encountered issues with logging in and sending email receipts. Please fix! Other than that, SmartCookies tracks my orders well and is an asset, having availability of cookie info on hand at all times.

Won’t recognize my info

SmartCookies won’t recognize my account info and therefore won’t let me log in. Ironically, after I click on the button to be taken to the Smart Cookies website, I have no issues logging in there. It pretty much defeats the purpose and convenience of a mobile app if it won’t sync up with the website, doesn’t it?

PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!!
