Hello, I have tried unsuccessfully to use my American Passport to identify myself on PostIdent. It fails repeatedly: "Holograms and security not recognizable". Is there a video that can assist me in positioning the camera correctly during the Hologram scanning?

I've encountered the same problem regarding the QR code and found a solution that worked with me and hopefully this will help others as well! So instead of downloading the Postident app and scanning the code, regardless via the app itself or from your own scanner outside of the app, it will not work. It says this will need to be open in browser but nothing happens, correct? I uninstalled the app, and scanned it again with my scanner (the default one in your phone that is used to scan QR codes) then finally it brought me to the link it was supposed to send me to from the very beginning. I got a new case-ID code that worked. (It is different from the previous one you've received.) You will also received some emails that your identification process has begun and it will send you the case-ID as well. (The same one as you received on the browser.) Then finally with my new code, I installed the Postident app again and entered the code. Now it finally worked and I can proceed with my identification process. You will received another email that confirms that your identification process has been completed. Hope this will fix the problem for a lot of you!

Disgraceful - the fact that there is zero support on this issue and only tons of people on the internet looking for help you think would signal the Post Office IT group to figure out the problem with the pensioner support group entity. Now I'm dragging my 93 year old parent out to the bank to try and get them to understand a foreign document to stamp and sign again? What a joke Germany has become. Who could possibly be responsible for this, from the 40's era grade school document they send to this process you can see how far back this country obviously is, 3rd world does better.

I just received per mail the request for digital proof of life 2023 (rentenservice.de) Then, when I use the photo app to scan the QR code, and select the website offered, the message "Transaction number expired" is displayed. This might well be the case, since the QR code I have received is the exact same QR code I received last year (2022) and successfully used at that point.

Current app as of today (2023-07-15) for iPhone (running on iPhone 6s Plus): Eveything seems to works well except that it doesn't turn on the camera for the video - ultimately rendering the whole thing useless! Bummer!

In attempting to fulfill the requirements for a digital proof of life for Deutsche Renten, I scan the QR code and click on the URL (for POSTIDENT) and am unable to continue as no transaction number in forthcoming. Shouldn't there be a login page or something so that a transaction code could be sent to my email address? Back to paper and pen and a trip to my bank, I guess.

Trying to help my Mom use this app for her pension. The app consistently rejects high resolution photos of her ID as being of 'insufficient quality', which is patently ridiculous. In short, after three attempts and lots of stress, the app simply doesn't work. We'll just have to send in the paperwork.

My personal QR code (with my name) supplied by renten service does not open correctly. It opens a website and asks for 12 digite number that I don't have. What's wrong again. Last year I had problems with the acceptance of a valid BC driver's licence. Can't you do better than this?

Followed instructions from rentenservice.de/DLN. When using Phone camera to point at my QR code nothing happens. No offer to change to Postident. So what now? Either your instructions for Canada are wrong or your program is defective. This happened to me already the second year. I try to avoid sending the proof of life by snail mail. I am on Android 10. After scanning the QR code with my android phone camera, I get the link to Deutsche Post by POSTIDENT; however, after making sure I have the correct 12-digit transaction number for the purpose of the Digital proof of life 2023, and press "Continue", I always get "Identification not possible". As far as I can see, it works in German only. It started out in English, then it switched to German. I don't know German, so it seems I cannot use it. There was often a banner that said: "Translation available" but there were no instructions how to get this translation. To me, it seems useless without an English interface.

You should scan the QR code *before* you open the POstident app? I had this problem - then when I used just the camera on my phone, it scanned, and offered a button to connect to Postident.

Hello, The Deutsche Rentenservice offered the alternative identification via this app. I downloaded and installed it on my Samsung phone, but like many others I get the error "No transaction number found" ... hat a pity would save me several hours of processing paperwork :(

Downloaded app successfully. Scanned QR code and kept getting 'No transaction number found'. I loaded the app on both my Samsung tablet and my LG phone. Neither works! Ended up going back to the bank and getting the form filled out. Once again, pen and paper prove more reliable then technology!

Got the invitation to use POSTIDENT for the annual verification that I’m still alive (to continue receiving a German pension in Thailand). The app does not recognize my personal QR code that was sent with the invitation: "No transaction number found". I have updated the operating system on my I-Phone, made sure the app has access to the camera in settings, deleted and re-loaded the app twice w/o any success. The app is useless! The remarks, that one should not expect any help from this website speaks for itself. I'm giving up with warm greetings from Thailand to the digital wasteland Germany!
