Love the app but would fix a few small things

First, I use Webex all day long almost every day and for the most part it works incredibly well. I have tie-ins with things like Sharepoint and OneDrive so it aids collaboration on files. Messaging is quick and I like the hierarchy of Teams and Spaces. They could get a little more creative with permissions but it may add complexity we don’t need.

What we do need is less caching time on Webex . If you need real-time changes, like when doing administrative work on Spaces and Teams, it’s much better to use the web interface. Sometimes it will take Webex forever to catch up to any changes made either on the web or even in Webex itself. It also wouldn’t hurt to have one more level of hierarchy above arenas when things get really busy. Finally, an option to auto-populate team members into a new space (other than just (General) would be a nice option when creating a Space under a Team.

Still, the best messaging app I’ve used since ICQ. 😉

Please Add Apple Watch Support

this app (Teams) has a great iOS app. It integrates very nicely with my desktop client running simultaneously and is great for calls and team messaging. It has been my full replacement for Jabber for 3 months now and I am loving it. The only feature it is lacking is an Apple Watch App. I miss being able to change my status from my watch like I could do in Jabber. I also miss the ability to check conversation history and check for new messages on my watch. While I still get the notifications on my watch, I don’t always see those or remember if I responded or not. By having an Apple Watch App, I could see the real-time conversation history, order and read status. Thank you!

Notifications not working correctly

App has been great but with recent update there’s no toggle to turn on the feature to actually display the notification message that comes in. I would like it to display as I receive iMessages with preview on. Just displaying a notification is okay but rather get a preview of the content of the message

New update deleted all my work contacts

This new update was not good. It was a rude awakening when I answered a phone call and tried to transfer to a coworker while working remotely. I did not have a printed list of extensions or phone numbers on my person, I have that at the office, I ended up dropping the call while trying to search for a phone number in my person contact log. I had to call the customer back and apologize to them. I hope this does not happen again. It’s extremely frustrating and time consuming to have to go back in and manually add all of those phone numbers again.

New issues with push notifications

Since the last update, I’m now getting push notifications on my phone for messages that I have already read on my laptop, and I am not getting push notifications at all for some brand new messages that did trigger on-screen notifications on my laptop.

I will say that the search feature seems to have improved recently. It’s not as slow as it used to be, and I can now search for groups by name whereas I didn’t used to get any results back at all when searching for group names.

R&D Listen up!

I’m so confused as to why all this app features are not available in one app? Why must i download three different this app apps? We are past those days! Lets create a better UI

This definitely needs to be consolidated into one app....also would be a game changer if you could do file sharing in a way that the parties included can make personal changes or notes that would store on their end view...... effectually a shared document that can be individually annotated on ones own end.

1) Also try to integrate a social space... Call it the “Break Room
2) Make task lists available for projects.... with status bar, and status updates.... so that team members can know when projects are completed.
3) make a way to attach a title to the user example: CEO, secretary, Manager, supervisor...etc

Reach out to me for clarification on any ideas and we can also discuss compensation for any ideas implemented.

Teams

Aww man! I love the new update! There are so many new features! And it is more compact, easier to read, new themes, and it makes it really easy to communicate with my teachers during virtual learning! However....the new update forced me to log out and back in..as well as other students and teachers across the district. From then on we were not able to find our teams.... but it is a very seamless app!😁

Cool bed no

So this app is a great app but if you are in LISD student your messages will always be deleted by LISD Moderator. He deletes messages and he might even remove you from a team you made sometimes he removes the people you added to your team but if you add them again he will remove them and send you a message over 3 times. If you are not in LISD staff member then he will message you operation checked requires LISD staff member in it. Even in a private chat your message will be deleted. So we rated this 2 stars. 1 is for a good app which sends messages but the other is for Messages getting deleted if you are you in LISD.

MAJOR FLAW

Ok, so after the update, there has been a major glitch that needs to be fixed instantly. While we have to do important school work and send photons and attend meetings, Webex keeps asking to get permission to use photos and the microphone to send photos and hear meetings. The problem is that for iOS, there is nothing to let this app access the camera and the microphone in settings. It’s gone! Reduced to atoms! It doesn’t exist. Please somehow integrate in into the this app app, or just automatically do it. Thank you for reading my ted talk.

Big brother!!!!!!

Creating a psycho effect on business users by showing when everyone was last “seen”!
Who cares???? ???? ????
Only management does.
Cisco enforces surveillance, not productivity.

My friends at another job keep moving the mouse to show them Active!!

Stop showing that Active status!!! Others will get back to us when they see the message!!!

We don’t need to see if they are active, only to see if they do a presentation so we don’t disturb them.

Response to Developer’s comment:

NO! This functionality, to show you inactive after 5 minutes, should not be there!
It creates
1. a desire to management to be big brother (and expect that you have it on when others do)
2. stress for subordinates.
I am in management.
You can tell me all excuses but you still create a non-productive frame. Please remove it instead of finding excuses.
There are other silent employee activity monitoring tools.
You should not make Webex the same.

Restore automatic dismissal of notifications

Since the last update, I now receive notifications of my own messages. This seems completely unnecessary as I know these messages are sent. Please restore the earlier functionality where notifications would automatically disappear from my phone when I read the messages on my computer. The notifications are clogging up my screen, and I struggle to filter actual new messages from old notifications.

Can’t login on iPhone 13 mini

When I try to login, the apps browser takes a very long time for me to be able to authenticate using my token. I can’t sign in at all.

Update:
Increasing rating to 5 as I am able to log in now and also this application supports voice text messages.

Near Junk

Just got this from my employer. The dial pad is delayed when typing a number in and the call quality sounds like it’s 2006 again and was calling on 3G. It’s 2021. We should have HD calling. Why is it my CISCO VoIP phone at the office is crystal clean but this sounds like garbage? Internally it’s fine. I don’t talk with internal because it’s only 3 of us and all of our calls our external clients with cellphone numbers. Get it together. Why all of the sudden dark mode has turned itself off by itself!!!

Love the app...but..

Something happened with this last update. When I click to open it flashes open and the closes out completely. I have to delete Webex and redone load it and put back in my credentials and it works. Then once I close it and try to get back on it. It does the same thing.

The new experience

I use this app teams on a daily basis and the transformation on the experience is remarkable . The application have introduced several new features recently and has some pretty powerful integrations with other apps and bots. The productivity improvement is remarkable with the meetings , whiteboard, calls and chat on the same pane...

Audio issues

I have Webex to connect to my office phone when I work remotely and need to make protected calls. Too bad the people I’m attempting to call can’t hear me when they answer the phone! So many calls where I cannot be heard and this is wasting my time. And no, this is not user error.. it’s not my phone, nothing is muted, not connected to any other devices.. just have issues when I use Webex. How am I supposed to get my work done?

Most recent update ruined the text log

This last update has made it in usable with having an active conversation with text chats. Every time I type and send something it never updates when exiting a conversation I re-enter and it’s blank completely have to force quit Webex to reload a current version of the text log of a chat and then if you type anything new it will be out a date again and you’ll have to force quit Webex and reload the whole log.

Current Version Prevents Google from Loading

The current version is pinging every second, sometimes less. With the “Team” app and Meeting app installed together, it’s checking so frequently that Google is “detecting suspicious activity,” and preventing searches.

41.4.8 is Trash: Instead of notifications of messages I get notifications of errors to display a message. That’s worse than before when they added the stupid notifications to meetings that I can’t turn off and use this app Meetings for. Ridiculous!

By

Buggy.

Use Webex daily for work, but the notifications in the latest release are buggy. It alerts me for messages that I’ve already read on my laptop, so I constantly have to open Webex to clear them out. And now it’s sitting at 1 notification, but for no obvious reason (cannot find any new message, no highlight on a channel/space/etc). Maddening.

Horrible business chat

Where do I start? The overall lack of true presence options across all versions of this tool is a major pain point for me. I need a way to let people know that I’m away or busy. DND does not cut it for my needs. If I’m very busy at work, I want a status prevents people
from assuming that I’m ignoring them. Also, it should change to a busy status when I’m in a meeting. Our company supposedly
implemented this feature but it doesn't do anything. If I’m on a video call it shows that, but I want it to change my presence based on my outlook calendar which it can see. Next, I would like an option to appear offline. Often times I want to appear that way and communicate with only my direct team. And if I’m out of office, turn off the audio and visual notifications. Maybe allow an option to set a VIP list that can over ride that functionality, but otherwise I don’t want to be bothered if I’m not in the office.

Those are my major complaints and I have not even touched on the crashes across the iOS apps, the Mac client or the PC client.

Get it together Cisco, you should be better than this! Your competitors are making products that make their options the obvious choice. When the IT departments start going against the chosen company standard for their teams that is a problem. Especially when they get to provide the feedback to the leadership that made the choice to go with Cisco.

Needs default to audio call feature

Great app that enhances team communications. However, not all of us have the latest hardware. The feature that is supposed to switch an incoming call to an audio call when you put the phone to your ear does not work consistently for many members of our team on mobile devices, and for those same team members the audio for video calls is impossibly unconversationable and feedback-y. The process to manually switch incoming calls to audio is so convoluted and lengthy that the caller hangs up first. For mobile offices this is a productivity killer! PLEASE introduce a setting that allows the user to have calls default to audio upon receipt. Do that and this would truly be a five-star app.

Beware of 4.0

The mobile client's "feedback" button is (unsurprisingly) even less functional than the Windows client's, so this review will include a bug report.

First the bugs: The 4.0 update shouldn't have passed QA. The chat list refreshes only sporadically, so when it looks dead I have to go into individual chats to check for new messages. Then if there is a new message, the scroll position flickers around wildly, even if you try to tame it. This worked fine in vPrevious, so not sure how it broke so hard and went public.

Now the review: Teams is great at conferencing, according to everyone I've never met. Unfortunately, it's subpar at everything else.

Cisco Spark used to separate people and spaces, something users should recognize as a fundamental feature of any chat app. Cisco decided this feature is no longer necessary; it's absent from Teams and everything is in one list. This makes it unpleasant to find conversations if they're not at the top. Speaking of fundamental features, how about editing messages?

I can't give it 3 stars because it's not even average. It lacks important features, and the features it does have don't work well enough to make up for it.

Can we go back to when it worked?

Hey Cisco!
So I love that Webex has the ability to be everything that I need for work and more! But since you decided to do a major upgrade you have taken away features from iPhone users (changing space names and pictures) and now I have to leave my phone on, plugged in and can’t lock so I can remain employed with my company due to the next issue I am having.

Now if I leave Webex on my phone and don’t access it for 10 minutes or longer it auto logs me out and I don’t realize it until my district manager calls me directly to ask why I am not responding. Can you please figure these things out and FAST because honestly I’m to the point of asking my company to find a new solution so we can remain in constant contact as we did before the upgrades that have downgraded my daily communications.

Hoping that this finds the right person and fast because I’m about 2 seconds away from losing my job or my phone due to a swift toss into the toilet since Webex hates my Apple Products.

Note:
Issue happening on iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPad Pro 11 and more.

Wish I didn’t turn on auto update

I can see where they tried to make improvements but they failed miserably. New update skin and frameless text makes it much more difficult to read and see where messages from an individual start and stop. Gif files don’t start automatically, you can no longer identify who has seen your post , the list goes on. Liking posts should be the most basic capability but we do not have that option either 🤔. This is supposed to be robust and full functionality! Load times also slowed up , posting video that actually plays? Forget it. All this for a skin? Would gladly take back the old wireframe, just give us functionality. Waiting for Webex to get good.

Great App, but wish it supported Apple Watch!

My company uses Webex for internal messaging and meetings, and I have to say it works really, really well. I’ve previously used HipChat and Google Hangouts Chat for work, but this app Teams is absolutely better than them both. More reliable, more flexible, and much easier to use. I especially like how seamless it is to just jump between text chat and video as-needed.

One major detractor though, is the lack of native Apple Watch support. I know that Jabber supports this, which is also a Cisco product, so hopefully that means that this app Teams will get it soon too? Cisco, any chances of this??

Otherwise, still a solid app and I’d recommend it to anyone for their work environment.

Edit: Wow, thanks for the response! Looking very forward to the Apple Watch version and will definitely provide feedback on it.

The best team collaboration app yet!

I have been using Webex at work for about 2 years now. This is a great was to communicate as it has lowered my email usage and I’ll take that any day. Works on all devices with same experience. Best part is anyone can start spaces and not have to go through hoops like setting up a DL etc. Calling, meetings and white boarding are great features making this a perfect tool for collaboration everywhere and at any time!

Increase volume & vibration alerts for messages

Webex works great. It has improved team communications. One of the main features my organization utilizes is the messaging feature. We have found the notification sound and vibration alerts are very faint and not customizable. It would be awesome to allow users to increase the volume and vibration alerts for incoming messages.

Can Not Get Past Inputting Email

I recently updated Webex to the most recent version and that was a mistake I can not get past inputting my email. The screen cycles back to the dashboard of my phone it’s truly frustrating. I contacted the help desk where they had me do everything I have already done uninstall, redownload, power off phone etc.... then they said they would have someone reach out to me to help they kept messaging when I wasn’t available and when I would respond back I wouldn’t hear back from them for days. I ultimately gave up and told my employer I can’t use the phone app.

Great App

Great App for video calling, desktop sharing and way more options. My only issue is with very low audio when using the video calling on iphone. If i received a video call on my iphone, the audio from speakers is very low (even when audio bar is on max). Audio is super fine on a MacBook. I tried multiple iphones, same issue across all.

It's okay, but notifications need work

I like the ability to collaborate, but the sheer eof notifications needs work. Cisco needs to provide better options for managing the notifications. Some examples: mute notifications from a space for the next hour, control the number of notifications one space can push over a 15 minute period. Anything would be better than the masses of notifications that come in now.

By

Notification sound

Webex has great functionality and works as advertised. We use this in a fast paced environment where it is unacceptable to miss a message. However the default notification sound (on an iPhone anyways) is almost unable to be heard even when turned up. To make this product work for our environment we need to be able to change the notification sound to something we can actually hear and gets our attention!!! Thx

By

Great App! (One Glitch)

Webex works great! Takes sometime to get use to the options but overall I like it. The only reason I didn’t rate at 5 stars is because when I use the video calling feature the recipient hears reverb on their end while I am talking. I have a LifeProof case and when I remove it the issue goes away.

Developers: a test with an iPhone and LifeProof case would be beneficial to see if sound is being handled differently by Webex .

By

Missing Functionality

Coming from the Teams desktop client to mobile is always an underwhelming experience, with one dominant reason for me: formatting. I cannot format my messages on mobile. The markdown on Desktop, while not always following the standard syntax, is quick and easy-to-use. On mobile, not only do I not have the markdown abilities, but I’m given no method at all to do any of the formatting it usually affords me.

By

New notification sound and like option

Webex is great but the sound it makes for notifications is the most annoying sound ever and there is no option to change it. Also I wish there was a feature to “like” a message someone sends.
