I’ve actually used ChordBank for years and finally decided to write a review. I am not even using the most up-to-date version but ChordBank has proven to be amazing time and time again. I was just using the chord finder feature where you can tap on the fretboard and create the chord that you are playing and it will tell you the best options for what it actually is.
You’ve got all the scales and modes and backing tracks to go along with them. It generally has a great interface and I can’t imagine all the work it took to put this together. It’s been a huge asset for me. Thank you developers!

iPad 9.7. ChordBank has tons of uses and is well worth the price for the full version. My only pet peeve is the way scales don’t display properly and some of the notes are cut off until you scroll down in portrait. This may be because the same amount of notes display on the landscape mode. Take some hints from how the interface from rock smith works for scale patterns, display it so I can zoom in and out on different sections of the pattern, or view the entire fretboard. The reverse chord finder and genius are helpful for writing. I also like being able to hear every chord and note if I want. Anyways great app and hopefully they can fix the notes disappearing thing.

I had ChordBank in my iPhone and really enjoyed it. In order to get more use out of it I downloaded it for my iPad. The bigger screen of the iPad allows me to see the whole fretboard of notes for each of the scales. There are enough scales offered to help a beginner to learn to play with some good soloing skills or to help an advanced player increase their skill set. An advanced player will probably find the backing tracks only to be OK. However for a novice player he/she will find them quite useful. The chord directory and metronome is quite useful as is the tuner. A players skill level will determine the usefulness of these straight forward lessons.

This is probably now one of my favorite apps of all time. It's extremely easy to use and very helpful in finding new chords for beginners. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the guitar because you will be able to teach yourself a LOT. If you've felt like you've hit a wall with your abilities you'll be able to blast through it and learn so many new things. There is still room for improvement. I would love to see a more intuitive version of the simple chord progression recording ability. I have high hopes for all future updates and ChordBank is seemingly only going to get better.

ChordBank is fantastic. I have been using it for years. I love the growth that has come along with ChordBank . It never stops teaching me something new. I catch myself just practicing how chords sound together in my spare time away from a guitar instead of playing games on my phone. You can tell that the makers of ChordBank really love guitar and want anyone who is interested in guitar to be able to play. It really is worth the money to buy the full app. The tutorials and access to several different chords are super helpful.

However I have lost access to the entire app. I have tried restore purchases and it just spins endlessly. I still have this app pro on my iPad, but it’s reverted on my iPhone. Big bummer. It’s such a great tool to just have in my pocket.

Ok, so after a email and a very quick response Chris was able to get my app working correctly for me. Hands down great customer service.

I absolutely love ChordBank. I love using the genius part when I’m writing songs because it gives me ideas of what chords I could use when I cannot think.
I would love for ChordBank to have the ability to tell you what chord you are creating. For example: you click the notes on the fret board on ChordBank and then it tells you what chord that could be. When I make up chords I have a hard time not knowing what to call them. That would be incredible! Love ChordBank though!

this app is the best guitar chord app on ChordBank Store. It has everything, dude. It has like 16 scales, it has chords in every position key and flavor, it has a chord analyzer thingy for looking up what chord a certain fingering is, it’s got a tuner, metronome, backing tracks, and you can strum chords/pluck notes. ChordBank is a one stop shop for any guitar player, new or experienced. Imagine having access to any chord at the tips of your fingers, then buy ChordBank and make your dreams come true. It is worth the fifteen bucks.

I’ve own several apps for guitar and music theory, and this is definitely one of my favorites. It’s pretty much a one stop shop for chords and scales. It’s a very powerful tool to add to your guitar arsenal. The workflow is also intuitive and user friendly. I want to specifically give a shout out to the developer for exceptional customer service. Super friendly and very responsive. Highly recommend ChordBank to anyone who wants a powerful tool in their guitar arsenal!

This is a wonderful learning tool. It has a lot of useful tools to locate scales and chords and practice them in a variety of ways. One of the best I have found. The interface is pretty easy to navigate and there are some clever functions such as integrated video lessons and flashcards. I especially like the flashcards as this was something I was going to make for myself but find that I can use the ones incorporated within ChordBank .

Downloaded this and another popular guitar teaching app around the same time and had mostly been using the other until recently. I forgot I even had this, opened ChordBank one day and within 15 minutes learned four chords faster than in the 2 months I’d been using the other one... ChordBank is simply amazing. I just played Amazing Grace for the first time without looking at my finger placement at all...I’ve learned those three chords by feel in just two weeks...I LOVE ChordBank!!!

When I purchased ChordBank I expected to have access to a full featured app. That is not the case. You get the basics for the initial purchase price of around 8 bucks, then get nickeled and dimed for incremental features. I wouldn’t have minded so much If the “menu” of prices per feature were listed so the purchaser knows up front what they’re buying, but, it doesn’t become apparent until you attempt to access other features and are blocked with a pop up requesting more and more money. Having written this, I don’t deny the apps quality, I just don’t like that prices aren’t known up front.

I love ChordBank I’m slowly learning how to play the guitar, problem is with me I’m left handed playing an right handed guitar it’s hard to get my fingers in the right place , I wish they’re was easier way to know where my fingers go so I don’t make an mistake like learning the G Chord that’s probably the hardest chord to learn I’ve tried many times trying to figure out how to play it without making an progress I don’t have the money to pay for full version of ChordBank so it’s kinda of hard for me to learn .

It’s a simple, yet extremely informative app. It doesn’t strong am you with trying to teach you the way the developer team thinks guitar should be taught. It simply takes a lot of critical information, categorizes it and makes it very accessible.

I would say it’s really good for the late beginner/early intermediate player all the way through to advanced. You need to know what to look for to get the most out of these tools

Very nice app good polyphonic sound. I really would like to see the ability to change chord and maintain the same position. You can cord out a simple song, however only in first position (Cowboy Chords). If you choose G on the third fret and choose F next it reverts to first position. Fix this you get a 5. Bluwail
Update: you now get a 5 one of best apps in the store! Constant upgrades and attention to suggestions make this my go to Guitar app!
ChordBank is getting better with every iteration!!!

I’ve been a bass player for a long time and “dabbled” with guitar. I’ve recently been diving more into guitar and wanting to learn and build a better chord library. Found and installed ChordBank a few minutes ago and can already tell this is going to be the most used app on my phone! The Platinum is the only way to go!
I think it would be cool if ChordBank had the ability to use alternate tunings! That’s something I like playing around with! Overall, great job!!

ChordBank is an excellent tool for learning to play the guitar or adding to your skills. You need to upgrade to “Platinum” to access some essential chords and scales, but it’s worth the cost. It includes alternate ways to play each chord and all the scale positions. It also has backing tracts to play along with. The “lessons” are very basic, but good for beginners. All in all, Chord Bank is a great resource for guitarists at all levels.

ChordBank drives me crazy it’s like all apps there I can’t learn everything I want to and at the end when you delete it you just gonna be lying on the couch just annoyed and upset ok yes you won’t learn guitar in one day but if you don’t learn something it’s worthless and I can’t by it ( because I’m not an Adult) I want a app that teaches me with full access to where my mind wants to go no time limits no restrictions just me learning guitar and being successful that’s how I feel about all apps I tried out I just don’t want to write reviews for all of them but if I can’t get the tools I need I will never learn!

I’ve been using ChordBank for years and I must say it’s been a great 👍 help to me on my guitar journey.
Somehow I lost access to the pro features, so I sent an email and I got a quick response from Chris and was able to get my app running perfectly again. First class customer service. Best investment ever, just get ChordBank and you won’t regret..... highly recommend ChordBank for every guitarist from beginner to advanced!

I bought the full version. I'm a complete beginner, but this challenges me. I like that they teach specific chord combinations to build off of each other. I've been playing for a week, and I'm already comfortable playing 8 chords and switching between them. I'm excited to learn more. Some songs are hard at first, but it's fun to play along and get faster and faster with practice.

This is one of the best, most useful guitar apps for the iPad ever made for someone learning guitar or still needs to reference chords and scales. I upgraded to Platinum+ account and I love it! The AI work well with my 2nd gen. 12.9" iPad Pro while listening to my Orangewood Brooklyn acoustic or my Florentine Les Paul amped, clean or distorted, through my Boss Katana mkii head through the the built in speaker.

This was a nice little app to easily look up basic chords. There was a premium version but it soon went to a subscription model and while that sorta sucked you could still use it reasonably well. Recently, they decided to take the most despicable of practices from mobile gaming, a METER that runs down for every chord you look up and gate your usage unless you pay up. The rave reviews came before these mobile game mechanics ruined ChordBank so don’t be fooled by its rating. Pass on this trash and the dev should fire whoever consulted with mobile gaming in order to turn a buck. Deleted.

I really like how ChordBank shows all the interval numbers of the notes in the chord. Without that I find chord apps to be showing only a fraction of what's important to learn, and will only allow memorizing of a Lot of shapes rather than understanding the system and how to adjust one note of a chord to make a different chord.
Also ChordBank has more chord types than the others I've seen.
