Great service on my 1964 Welson Electric Guitar!! Also went in and ordered a Yamaha APX500lll black thin line acoustic guitar and the next day I received a e-mail with a tracking # that the order was sent !! That's quick service!!!! Staff was very helpful with my purchase also of a capo , picks , clip on tuner , and a gig bag !! I had a few questions and they were very patient with me trying to find what I needed and what was best for my needs !!! Once my guitar arrives and I pick up my 1964 Welson , I will not hesitate to purchase other products I will be needing !! What a nice experience to walk into a store and the staff not only makes you feel comfortable but also welcomes your questions !!!

Typically, the app runs fine. I’ve been using it for a while now. Just browsing, sometimes it crashes when you’re right in the middle of searching for something. I think the biggest (and most frustrating) problem I’ve had is with checkout. If you use a coupon (like the 15% off deals the send out all the time), make sure what you want is in your cart and wait until the payment screen to input it. Not the very first “proceed to checkout” screen. It’ll glitch somewhere in between the two. If you input the coupon on the first screen, it’ll mess up when you get to payments. But now you can’t go back and redo it, because the system already “used” your coupon. What follows is a very long and difficult conversation with Guitar Center employees. Luckily, the guys at my store know me, and know I wouldn’t try to double dip a coupon like that. I like Guitar Center a lot, and I want to see it prosper. I understand this app has a lot of data and variables that it must sift through, so I get why it glitches. It’d just be nice to not have to go through limbo with it.
Surprisingly Horrible... For a Long Time
GC app has always, always stunk. At least at this point I can actually stay logged into my account and basically browse items without everything screwing up or crashing... sort of. Search refinement doesn’t work on iPad, so good luck sifting through thousands of guitars. Still not ready to actually try to place an order through the app again - too scared/scarred from previous experiences that were frustrating and impossible to place an accurate order through the app. I am a loyal GC customer, even if every time - EVERY TIME - I order a “new” guitar they try to pass off a floor model or a damaged/returned item and I have to go through the return process to “have one shipped directly from the warehouse.” They have a great selection and always good promos. But the app is a poor approximation of their web experience, which is average at best and horribly buggy if one is being completely honest.
Have tried many small Ma and Pa shops just felt the need to support. But they just couldn't deliver anything i couldn’t find myself on the internet for the same price. I imagine we were both shopping in the same place. Not much help there. And no discount with zero freebies. Guitar Center however has most everything you want to hold feel and play, i have made 5 major purchases through them and it has always been a good positive feeling during it all. Thank you Guitar Center for the trusting partnership.
Best customer service awesome managers/employees
I have nothing but great things too say about guitar center (Nordhoff/valley)! I’ve bought several items from them two guitars/amps/etc and the whole process has been flawless best part guitar/amps go on sale a week or so later no problem they got right up in there and honored the sale price..... like I said unbelievable customer service/ great selection/unbeatable prices/shout out to the managers and all the really helpful employees it’s cause of you’re attention to detail I’ll be a lifelong customer🙏👍
Guitar Center Family
Being married to a RN (travel nurse) we find ourselves in many locations. In the last year I/we have purchased a few guitars, amplifiers, and accessories with purchases from many locations within the US. At all locations we were greeted in a friendly manner and answered all questions in a professional courteous manner. I would be hard pressed to even entertain the idea of going anywhere else to start my search for any musical related item.

Trying to order thru this app is very aggravating. All I wanted to do was order strings for my ukulele. I’ve bought instruments, music books and accessories from guitar center. The service at the stores is excellent but the app has me wanting to never shop there again. How many times do I have to add my phone number? 17 times before it finally allowed me to put my order in. I’m beginning to think that I can better get my supplies for my ukulele elsewhere. Oh.. did I mention the constant crashing of the app. What happened guys? Your app at one time was awesome! Your app was what got me to become your customer and now you app is what is driving me straight to your competitors!
Guitar Center - my review
Guitar Center is nothing but awesome. Best music, instrument store that exists. Cool sales folks who are honest and always willing to answer all my questions on the spot and offer great suggestions. I’m not rich and they don’t hold it against me, they hook me up with the Best gear that I can get for my bucks and I’ve never been let down with any purchase I’ve ever made. I have some great guitars, drums, and gear only because Guitar Center exists.

Great store with knowledgeable and helpful staff. I have purchased a lot of gear and merchandise from them over the years. Great specials and the few times I’ve needed to return an item, there was never an issue. Best part, they encourage playing instruments, without badgering customers to make a sale, as so many other music outlets do. Thank you Guitar Center - Kendall
App somehow gets worse with every update.
I have used this app for awhile now. A few updates ago the ability to search stores and then link directly to that store to search inventory there stopped working. Since then, another update and not only is that function still not working, the whole app is glitchy, slow (when it’s not freezing entirely), and just plain frustrating. Not sure what IT initiative is driving this continuous quality decline but it sure seems like nobody is actually testing the user functionality of new versions before releasing them.
I really wanted it to work
A mobile app would be so much better than the website! So I downloaded and started using it. Awesome! Then I used the following path: Used gear->used basses->used electric basses->filter results. Freezes every time on the filter options screen. Every time I have to restart the app and try again with the exact same results. It’s a bummer, especially because when I do the same search but for used amps it flows seamlessly, no freezes whatsoever. Please fix it folks and I’ll keep using it, and will revise my review.
I just wanted what I paid for.
I had pro coverage on my JBL Speakers 5 that had been broken. I first was told to print out the labels and pay for shipping myself but because I didn’t understand why I had to ship myself when I paid for pro coverage I came back to ask again. Then I was told they would ship it for me. Finally that was done and I end up receiving my money back though e-gift and it ends up not even being enough to pay for the speakers I originally had. But because of time I decided to buy another pair of speakers. I just want what I paid for “Pro Coverage” I got “Minor League Coverage”
I used to think guitar center was fair in dealing with used guitars. My guitars are pristine and even though I planned on buying another guitar from San Marcos guitar center they only offered me about 35% of the retail value for my guitar. I then tried to buy a Godin guitar but had to order it many weeks ahead of time. I found it on another web site for cheaper and they shipped it to me within days! Obviously Guitar Center does not care as much as they used to. From now on I’ll only go there simple items like cords and picks, but nothing big.

I have had the best guitar instruments, effects, and accessories thru this store. I have bought a Les Paul Studio and a Jackson Soloist which have provided everything I need in a guitar. I bought a Boss GT 10 and recently an HELIX LT which has the most amazing effects set up. I thank Troy, Nick, and Ryan for giving me the professional advice and salesmanship to keep my gripes to an absolute minimum. LOL. Driskel Dicus

On my last visit to guitar center I purchased a nice vox amp and the staff were instrumental in me making a good decision to purchase the one I did over a more expensive yet not really that useful to me due to my playing type marshall. This is just one occasion out of many where they have steered me back into the right mindset.
