So many bugs. App is terrible. Can’t search anything

I’d give it a 0 star if possible. The search option only works if you’re super specific and have the correct spelling, you can’t just say “bass amp head” cause it will say “no results found” but if you put in ‘bass amplification head’ it’ll show everything on the under that category. So you gotta be very specific about what you want and spell it right which is weird cause some companies like to combine words that don’t spell out like you would think so it’s hard to find something if you don’t know the exact spelling. But on the GC website you can type any general word and it’ll bring back more results that match that keyword even if you don’t spell it right. Most times it won’t display every item under the category anyway so you could possibly miss something you been looking for thinking they just didnt carry that item at their store. That’s a big issue. It’s just a weak app in my opinion. I really only use GuitarCenter to track my online orders since the website has better functionality. So it needs a better search capability, more detailed descriptions on the items for sale and more pictures on new and used items. If they fixed those issues it would be a decent app but at this point it’s absolutely worthless for anything other than tracking online orders.

GC app has always, always stunk. At least at this point I can actually stay logged into my account and basically browse items without everything screwing up or crashing... sort of. Search refinement doesn’t work on iPad, so good luck sifting through thousands of guitars. Still not ready to actually try to place an order through GuitarCenter again - too scared/scarred from previous experiences that were frustrating and impossible to place an accurate order through GuitarCenter . I am a loyal GC customer, even if every time - EVERY TIME - I order a “new” guitar they try to pass off a floor model or a damaged/returned item and I have to go through the return process to “have one shipped directly from the warehouse.” They have a great selection and always good promos. But GuitarCenter is a poor approximation of their web experience, which is average at best and horribly buggy if one is being completely honest.

Yeah, you can order musical equipment off of it. Is it worth GuitarCenter ? No. I found myself to be finding a way to access the items in my cart, more than the selection process to put items in my cart! What do I mean? I mean when you open GuitarCenter , the icon showing how many items are in your cart is absent, and when clicking, your cart is empty. The only way to solve this is to add an item to your cart and then go straight to your cart. It has categories for items they don’t even possess. When liking or disliking a comment does not actually do anything, I went back to check a comment and my dislike was gone. Besides it being slow, it kind of convenient. Could be better. 6/10.

The worse shopping experience outside of almost being arrested outside a bank that I belong to. A man hands me a dirty mask or used one with a glove on that he had been sweating in for hours. It really made me want to throw up. Also would not or could not answer questions I had about products with the slight amount of friendly service. It happened on more then one occasion. They also had no selection 2 dj mixers in the entire store. And they were on demo but I couldn’t use them. This is my rating a 0 compared to a 9 which I receive at the guitar center in park meadows which I have been going there for almost since its opening, even through the name changes. I would rate that store a 9 but only 90% of the time. The bad there is sometimes under staffed.

Trying to order thru GuitarCenter is very aggravating. All I wanted to do was order strings for my ukulele. I’ve bought instruments, music books and accessories from guitar center. The service at the stores is excellent but GuitarCenter has me wanting to never shop there again. How many times do I have to add my phone number? 17 times before it finally allowed me to put my order in. I’m beginning to think that I can better get my supplies for my ukulele elsewhere. Oh.. did I mention the constant crashing of GuitarCenter . What happened guys? Your app at one time was awesome! Your app was what got me to become your customer and now you app is what is driving me straight to your competitors!

Literally the only problem is that it glitches

When I say it glitches, I mean a few things. I might go to look at my wish list and have it tell me I have none, so I uninstall, reinstall, and it works. Then a few days later, I’ll go in and GuitarCenter crashes, and will continue until I uninstall, reinstall, and it will work. Then today, anything I put into the search bar will bring up a “no results found” page, so I uninstalled, reinstalled, and am going to try it again. I’ve done this cycle on probably 5 different occasions now.

GuitarCenter itself is amazing in pretty much every way, it just has a lot of glitches for me. I will absolutely continue to use it, I just hope that they might look into these problems at some point.👍

Update: still nothing comes up in search. I’m thinking that it might just be a system error... hoping they fix it soon because I can’t really browse...

Update 2: My wish lists are missing again today.

It seems you can only see the pictures of the products in the initial search. Once you click a product, if you’re on cell signal, it won’t load the pictures of the products. If on WiFi the pictures will load up. There’s also no option in the settings to allow picture load on cell signal. Just WiFi. It’s frustration because I see a cool guitar in my search and click on it and it says “picture coming soon”. It would be nice to have an option to allow loading pictures of the products with cell signal.

While I applaud how your store in Farmington Michigan is handling the Covid situation, I am disappointed by your salespersons error.
I run a karaoke business. I called ahead to make sure I could get a set of Gem Stone wireless microphones and a couple of mic stands. I asked twice, once on the phone and once while in the store if I needed adapters for the microphones so I can use them with the stands.
The gentleman on the phone said yes, however when I asked for them while I was in the store I was told no I don’t need them.
Sure enough when I got home I discovered I do need them. Now I have to drive another 30 minutes each way again just to get what I was looking for. I even asked the guy in the store if he was sure and he answered “positive “.
Frustrating!!!!

this is one of those apps! Full of interesting looking features, but not long on functionality is far as being able to use easily. It seems that simple tasks such as selecting a payment method, entering your information, feel more like extracting teeth then they should. Why and earth do so many people shop elsewhere for instruments? Because they’re apps and websites are so much easier to use, that’s why. You have lots of work to do to clean up GuitarCenter I may not shop from here again in the

Typically, GuitarCenter runs fine. I’ve been using it for a while now. Just browsing, sometimes it crashes when you’re right in the middle of searching for something. I think the biggest (and most frustrating) problem I’ve had is with checkout. If you use a coupon (like the 15% off deals the send out all the time), make sure what you want is in your cart and wait until the payment screen to input it. Not the very first “proceed to checkout” screen. It’ll glitch somewhere in between the two. If you input the coupon on the first screen, it’ll mess up when you get to payments. But now you can’t go back and redo it, because the system already “used” your coupon. What follows is a very long and difficult conversation with Guitar Center employees. Luckily, the guys at my store know me, and know I wouldn’t try to double dip a coupon like that. I like Guitar Center a lot, and I want to see it prosper. I understand GuitarCenter has a lot of data and variables that it must sift through, so I get why it glitches. It’d just be nice to not have to go through limbo with it.

Whenever I have purchased anything it’s always been high-quality good customer service.

My only complaint is you do not give a fair price for used equipment for instants I trade it in for cash out of the box brand new Pearl Drum kit complete with all the hardware I paid over 1500 for the kit you gave me less than $300. I feel I was taking a vantage of.
I know in the future if I have used equipment or something I’m not gonna use I will not bring it to your company to trade less I get a fair market price which I will have a price in mind when I come in the next Time to sell something.
I do know as a business person you have to make a profit you have to also give a fair price for what you purchase thank you very much.

Being married to a RN (travel nurse) we find ourselves in many locations. In the last year I/we have purchased a few guitars, amplifiers, and accessories with purchases from many locations within the US. At all locations we were greeted in a friendly manner and answered all questions in a professional courteous manner. I would be hard pressed to even entertain the idea of going anywhere else to start my search for any musical related item.

I have nothing but great things too say about guitar center (Nordhoff/valley)! I’ve bought several items from them two guitars/amps/etc and the whole process has been flawless best part guitar/amps go on sale a week or so later no problem they got right up in there and honored the sale price..... like I said unbelievable customer service/ great selection/unbeatable prices/shout out to the managers and all the really helpful employees it’s cause of you’re attention to detail I’ll be a lifelong customer🙏👍

Great service on my 1964 Welson Electric Guitar!! Also went in and ordered a Yamaha APX500lll black thin line acoustic guitar and the next day I received a e-mail with a tracking # that the order was sent !! That's quick service!!!! Staff was very helpful with my purchase also of a capo , picks , clip on tuner , and a gig bag !! I had a few questions and they were very patient with me trying to find what I needed and what was best for my needs !!! Once my guitar arrives and I pick up my 1964 Welson , I will not hesitate to purchase other products I will be needing !! What a nice experience to walk into a store and the staff not only makes you feel comfortable but also welcomes your questions !!!

2020 guitar sales record high for all companies except GC. I know why. I wanna search in a range of guitar location and price...then kicks me out of local search to nationwide. IDownloaded GuitarCenter , ok great I thought. Sadly listing guitars 1 by 1 scrolling down with no locations. Click on a Tele in Ohio, bright me to a Tele in Arizona. I’m not a jerk, I love the company, but you need me or someone to put your app/ web site together. Pay some real people to do photographs not the guy sellin guitars who can play one.

I love your company. Been buying from it for over 20 years. Already have a used crate cab coming in the mail now, then buying a used head after that’s paid off and so on...... only thing I will complain about is your packaging. It is packed great and super safe but the outside doesn’t hide what’s in the box at all. I’ve had people walk up to my house and almost take guitars and an amp in the past cause the box it was in literally showed what it was (especially guitar boxes. Last one was in a fender guitar box, guitar and logo in huge font on the outside of the box). I wish so much that the gear would be in a plain box and guitars wouldn’t be in those obviously guitars shaped box. Besides that, absolutely satisfied with your company all around and can’t wait to get more gear when this latest is paid off.

Have tried many small Ma and Pa shops just felt the need to support. But they just couldn't deliver anything i couldn’t find myself on the internet for the same price. I imagine we were both shopping in the same place. Not much help there. And no discount with zero freebies. Guitar Center however has most everything you want to hold feel and play, i have made 5 major purchases through them and it has always been a good positive feeling during it all.

I had Allen Park Guitar Center install new strings on my guitar. I’ve lost the expert tech’s name. After looking it over he phoned me and went over the many problems that old guitar had. Since the cost probably would exceed what I paid for it in 1971, I declined to go that far into it. But because he was so informative I knew what I was facing in the future. An “expert” said this guitar would probably sell for $200 to $300 in today’s market if pristine.
I managed to get $150 which was a win-win. Going back to GC for a new keyboard. Thanks for great service.

Best app and best store

I love GuitarCenter and when searching for the goods and In regards to the Champaign illinois GC, I love this store and and the fast shipping. I live in illinois (hence Champaign store)so delivery takes 3 days. My son will try out a guitar(s) for 2-3 hours here on any given day and when he finds one he likes we order a brand new one with a warranty and life is good. The 45 day trial period seemed to good to be true so when we took one back on 44th day they were just as friendly as the day we bought and they didn’t get upset or bothered by it (business as usual) the staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable, busy but not to busy to stop and help you out or even have a small chat with you.

Best place ever for any musician to get what you want for a great price and honest deals.

I have shopped at the world over looking at all musical instruments and I have found that this is the only place I get the quality of the product and the people honor their warranty, but they usually have top quality instruments that saves me the time and trouble of getting them to give me another instrument under the warranty anyway. I recommend this place to anyone who plays or wants to start playing an instrument, and you will not be disappointed.

App somehow gets worse with every update.

I have used GuitarCenter for awhile now. A few updates ago the ability to search stores and then link directly to that store to search inventory there stopped working. Since then, another update and not only is that function still not working, the whole app is glitchy, slow (when it’s not freezing entirely), and just plain frustrating. Not sure what IT initiative is driving this continuous quality decline but it sure seems like nobody is actually testing the user functionality of new versions before releasing them.

I just wanted what I paid for.

I had pro coverage on my JBL Speakers 5 that had been broken. I first was told to print out the labels and pay for shipping myself but because I didn’t understand why I had to ship myself when I paid for pro coverage I came back to ask again. Then I was told they would ship it for me. Finally that was done and I end up receiving my money back though e-gift and it ends up not even being enough to pay for the speakers I originally had. But because of time I decided to buy another pair of speakers. I just want what I paid for “Pro Coverage” I got “Minor League Coverage”

Guitar trade-Ins

I used to think guitar center was fair in dealing with used guitars. My guitars are pristine and even though I planned on buying another guitar from San Marcos guitar center they only offered me about 35% of the retail value for my guitar.
I then tried to buy a Godin guitar but had to order it many weeks ahead of time. I found it on another web site for cheaper and they shipped it to me within days!
Obviously Guitar Center does not care as much as they used to.
From now on I’ll only go there simple items like cords and picks, but nothing big.

I really wanted it to work

A mobile app would be so much better than the website! So I downloaded and started using it. Awesome! Then I used the following path:
Used gear->used basses->used electric basses->filter results. Freezes every time on the filter options screen. Every time I have to restart GuitarCenter and try again with the exact same results. It’s a bummer, especially because when I do the same search but for used amps it flows seamlessly, no freezes whatsoever.

Please fix it folks and I’ll keep using it, and will revise my review.

I have had the best guitar instruments, effects, and accessories thru this store. I have bought a Les Paul Studio and a Jackson Soloist which have provided everything I need in a guitar. I bought a Boss GT 10 and recently an HELIX LT which has the most amazing effects set up. I thank Troy, Nick, and Ryan for giving me the professional advice and salesmanship to keep my gripes to an absolute minimum. LOL.

Guitar Center is nothing but awesome. Best music, instrument store that exists. Cool sales folks who are honest and always willing to answer all my questions on the spot and offer great suggestions. I’m not rich and they don’t hold it against me, they hook me up with the Best gear that I can get for my bucks and I’ve never been let down with any purchase I’ve ever made. I have some great guitars, drums, and gear only because Guitar Center exists.

On my last visit to guitar center I purchased a nice vox amp and the staff were instrumental in me making a good decision to purchase the one I did over a more expensive yet not really that useful to me due to my playing type marshall.
