FireRemote - TV Stick Remote Reviews

For a app that charged me $30 (which is ridiculous) after a short 3day free trial it never worked from the beginning and I requested a refund and FireRemote developer refused it!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS REMOTE IT DOES NOT CONNECT TO ANY DEVICE AND U CAN NOT EVEN CONTACT THE DEVELOPER!!! FireRemote is horrible and to charge a $30 fee after only a short trial is robbery!!! Knowing this remote doesn’t even work properly Smfh

UPDATE: no the refund since it’s a 3rd party app is managed by the developer NOT ITunes they have tried 3x to assist me and it’s your company that is refusing the refund so again this company is a rip off and based on the 100’s of comments with the SAME EXACT ISSUE tells me I’m correct not one person has come back with a positive update after your generic responses so unless your going to process my refund your response is useless and I will be reporting this to the BBB/ Better Business Bureau

Doesn’t work and doesn’t allow you to cancel easily. When I tried to cancel it’s said “go to account settings” but made it impossible to find that area. Never found it. These guys are shady. Horrible product.

Be warned just downloaded app and was prompted to verify account with credit card. Was charged $40 from two separate online websites. Fortunately my bank caught and immediately declined as fraud. FireRemote must be hacked. Also FireRemote didn’t work to connect to TV.

This thing could not be any harder to use. It’s as if they asked millions of people what doesn’t work well and then merged it all together. I lost my remote and downloaded this remote hours ago. Still can’t get it to work. Zero stars from me!!!

This Worked when my remote broke

Doesn’t mirror the tv screen to my phone so I cannot control the fire stick without looking at my tv. Doesn’t work from another room. Thumbs down

My fire stick remote broke so I bought FireRemote to use it instead. It is useless because I can’t get into my TV to change settings for it to work waste of money.

FireRemote is terrible. You need a working remote to get it hooked up. So stupid. Every time I try to do something an add pops up. Really annoying. Just buy a remote.

Followed instructions (that weren’t even accurate). ADB mode on. Wouldn’t connect. Restarted my TV. wouldn’t connect. Restarted FireRemote . Wouldn’t connect. Literally useless

The advertisements are constant and will pop up while you are fast forwarding or rewinding making it impossible to stop the fast forward or rewind until the advertisements is over (So now you are back to the beginning of the show or 45 minutes ahead of intended point). And this occurrence is VERY frequent. Without this FireRemote would be great. It is very unfortunate.

It’ll connect but there’s a pop up ad they knowingly place there while you’re scrolling so that every so 3-4 clicks you may accidentally give them ad revenue. The developers can keep their scamming app. I only use one of the better working apps whenever I misplace my remote I would purchase a new remote in a heartbeat if I really lost it.

This is the worst app ever. You guys are literally trying to force us to get premium. I don’t know how more evil you can be to give us a ad every couple seconds and some of the ads don’t even let us leave. Also it takes so long to connect to the fire tv. FireRemote is useless.

I like it it’s pretty useful the ads are annoying but for the most part it works!!

Wow is a good thing this is only for when I lose my OEM Remote bc I can’t afford to pay by the week or the month let alone the year?!🤦🏻‍♂️ thank goodness I have androids laying around though PHEW😎‼️

Haven’t received my $ back after canceling an hour after downloading because how can I connect my tv to internet if i can’t get passed the first page trying to find my remote

FireRemote was perfect for the free trial using the remote. It started acting wonky as soon as the money was taken from my account and now it doesn’t work at all

Too many commercials, my other wireless remote isn’t like this one.. insignia is better

I lost my remote about a week ago, and I’ve been using this but it is getting unbearable with the amount of adds, I can’t browse anything, because after using the remote for about 20 seconds an ad pops up, as well it’s hard to connect to my TV! It’s an okay replacement for a little while, but gets annoying quick.

FireRemote is great and so useful because I don’t have to find my remote every time I want to watch tv. However, the ads are kind of annoying, but I don’t want to pay $20/month for no ads so it’s fine.

I kept trying to connect and it said my Wi-Fi was disconnected, even though my Wi-Fi was connected and working properly.

Just caused a headache and wasn’t worth my time. I never was able to connect after repeated efforts. Thank you.

They tell you that you can verify for free, but then try multiple charges to your credit card. There is never any mention of what the cost might be for a subscription. Seems like a scam!

They have loaded FireRemote with ads that interrupt you every couple of seconds to apparently make it as annoying as possible so you are forced to pay for a subscription. The only reason I am using it is because my Firestick remote went out and I’m still waiting on the replacement. It also seems to drain your phone battery when FireRemote ’s open.

I forgot the exact date I downloaded this, but this is one of the worst apps I ever downloaded! There’s ads almost every 5 seconds and the up button on the remote doesn’t even work. This is also the latest version as of August 25, 2023, so I don’t know if this bug will be fixed! I also don’t know if it’s just a glitch on my end, so that makes it a bit more frustrating to use! This almost seems like a cash grab, since you basically need premium if you wanna watch a show or movie. It’s really annoying when I wanna pause anything! Might as well stick to your phone or other electronic device if you wanna watch something and your remote doesn’t work! Would not recommend!

We think our toddler accidentally threw the remote away. Downloaded FireRemote, and it works perfectly for my older smart tv. Saved the day. And now my 6 year old doesn’t have control over the tv when we’re busy around the house.

Not only do I have to have an ad every four clicks of a button on FireRemote, but it also keeps telling me now that it is unable to connect because of a poor network connection every time I open it up! I am so glad I’m not paying for this.

I got FireRemote because my remote stopped working. So far it’s fine, it does what it should. But there’s no power or volume control which is annoying

I’m happy with this remote aside from the fact that there is no volume or power control. That’s kind of disappointing and annoying considering it’s supposed to be the equivalent of a regular remote. But at least I can watch tv.

Over 3+ year old instructions to pair FireRemote with your tv that it doesn’t relate to the current updated versions so none of the instructions help at all and have to try and find it in the 16 settings groups… ridiculously outdated holy wooooooowwww billion dollar company???? And can’t have a working remote…

Very quick response! If you opted out of subscribing, the ads are quick when flicking through programs! I’ve used other apps and, THIS IS THE BEST🤩! Highly recommend FireRemote if you lost your remote or as a back up for them comfortable times you don’t feel like getting up…

It’s so expensive and it doesn’t work properly. Always having to reconnect the remote and sometimes it “can’t find” my fire stick and I have to contact someone. I use the Roku remote app and it’s FREE for my Roku tv and it works better than this dumb subscription that I paid 30 bucks for. Do not recommend.

As someone who loses their little remote like it’s their full time job working overtime, this has been a lifesaver oh my goodness why didn’t I think to look it up sooner!!!! Might eventually pay for premium but as of right now I’m totally happy waiting for the 5 second ads every so often cause that sure beats tearing up my room every 5 minutes looking for my remote!!!!!

I am so happy FireRemote is available. IDK if anyone else has this problem, but my actual remote goes through 2 AAA batteries every couple of days. No joke. Do you realize how expensive that is?! So FireRemote is a life saver!! Woo-Hoo!! TY developers!

So thankful for FireRemote as I lost the fire remote somewhere months ago. Always there with your phone. Instantly starts the whole system & takes you directly to home page👍🏼

I’ve requested a refund 3 times as well as requesting they pay an additional 20$ for my time frustration and such a miserable experience. I’m sure they’ll keep it I can’t imagine there’s many long term subscribers to make money off of. I say this to say this put ur money in ur pocket get in ur car drive to the store and purchase a remote. Nothing is that bad that you should purchase this literal waste of money.

It works pretty good sometimes losing connection and won’t let me reconnect . Also , there are a lot of adds that pop up randomly .

When I downloaded it it was so slow. I pressed to connect my tv but I just transferred me to another app which I had to pay then it transferred me ANOTHER APP, it made me pay for FireRemote then it just wouldn’t work. It wanted all my photos but I declined then the apps just wouldn’t work unless I give them my location and photos then contacts.

It is amazing. The ads aren’t the best but I can read it five because I’m able to use it when I lose my remote and it’s so easy to use.

Okay the only reason why I gave it all stars is because clearly the people that run the stars section or whatever are gonna only use the good reviews. Anyways FireRemote was amazing the first five seconds but then the ads came in and I thought oh it’ll be fine but then every time I clicked on a button an ad popped up and it’s just not a good app and you can’t really do anything and the premium would actually be the best but I’m not paying like what 7 dollars for a remote app! I just would not recommend FireRemote. ANOTHER APP DOWN THE DRAIN!!

Well I wanted to leave a review because i recently downloaded FireRemote due to the baby losing my actual remote. Then I read the first review about leaving all stars because they’ll only use GOOD reviews. So hopefully mine will appear. This was a handy and great app concept, but unlike the Roku remote app every 2-3 clicks an ad will appear. Which is very tedious and frustrating. I guess this apps way of trying to get you to pay for a premium subscription. Please download at your own discretion. It’s not worth it.

I hate FireRemote so much, it’s so annoying with the ads that pop up every 5 f’n secs it seems and it works for 2 secs then another ad pops up. It never connects fast enough either. And why pay for it when the actual remote is the same cost? Makes no sense.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I just felt like it this time. this is a simple remote, but with ad’s. I can’t find my Fire TV remote, so I just searched up remote and got the first app and that was this.

but after 5 to 8 clicks on remote, you get a ad, which is annoying because you have to wait until you can continue doing what you were doing.

And that’s like 30 seconds - 1 min.

There is also the premium features one is being able to go directly to what streaming service you want to go to.

but I would say it’s a trap because you have the remote so you could manually go to it but then you’ll can ad trying to get there or you just pay for premium, to make it easier and just press which streaming service you want. Without ad’s so they’re making some type of money either way.

but I went back on FireRemote Store. There’s a Fire TV app which is free and it has all the features even the premium ones on this one so just go to the Fire TV app and get everything on this one for free without ads. It still even has voice control like the physical remote

The only way I could do that was if you had to do a lot more remote stuff and then you would be in a position to get and I rate it 5/5
