Remote for Fire Stick TV App Reviews

2nd update: got another response from developer. Still question if they are fluent in English. I downloaded app and was in process of setting up until asked to turn on debugging. At this point I could not choose anything—yes or no—-and so that is where it ended for me. Also.. after reading a few of the reviews further reinforces my decision. How about an app that will work or at least lets you get to the point where it is fully installed so performance can be judged as good or bad—at a decent price—that is what would “make me happy”. Thank you for your time.

Update: got a response from developer and obviously this person(s) cannot read. I COULD NOT select anything. Which means that step which “is necessary” effectively halts any forward progress.

Spilled tea on my this app and downloaded Remote as a work around. First off—paying for this as well as the amount being asked for is ridiculous. Do what I did and buy another entire Firestick on ebay for $18 and be done with it. Second—kept popping up wanting me to turn debugging on my Firestick with no way to select it either way with app. Junk. Stay away.

Got Remote because I couldn't find my this app. I found it a few minutes after downloading. I had the free trial, & was trying to cancel it so that I won't get charged. I couldn't find where to cancel the trial. Even wanted to reach out in an email for help through the "email us" option in Remote , but it wasn't pushable. & I just got charged. I need a refund, especially since I couldn't even find where to cancel.

Update: MONTHS LATER, I STiLL CANNOT CANCEL, & I STiLL NEED MY REFUNDS.! I am STiLL being charged continuously! Even though when I did need it, I had selected the option for only one week costing $2.99, I SHOULD NOT have been charged ANYMORE after that wee. So not only am I owed the initial $2.99, I need to be refunded for every time I got charged after that, a total of $39, because it charged me literally EVERY WEEK since then! I need my refund & this subscription canceled as soon as possible, as it should have been MONTHS AGO. Why is it so hard to get a hold of anyone to talk to about this???

I can't review Remote itself because I didn't beed it right after I downloaded it....but if you truly don't need Remote, DO NOT PAY FOR iT.

App is constantly crashing. If I exit Remote , or my phone scree times out ,I have to reconnect. Have to keep restarting app multiple times to connect to the right firestick. Can’t find the firestick located in the same room as I am, more often then not, yet always gives me the option to connect to the firestick that is downstairs down the hall. Bought Remote to avoid ads, and entirely not worth it. Thought it would help with connection issues but hasn’t helped a bit. Firestick gets perfect connection along with my phone, yet they can’t find eachother 9 times out of 10. Waste of 25 dollars. You are better off going out and buying or ordering a new this app. Major lag, and everytime my app is open and I go to reconnect under “my device” it crashes Remote . I have to fully close Remote , end it on my phone before I can attempt to find the connection again, which as mentioned above is highly difficult because it takes me many tries before the correct firestick connection shows up.

Okay so first of all i tould you so im definetly not the mld team they are ro annoying. Sorry for my mispelling. Okay so i tried to get Remote and it was money for a this app what the heck and after i spent all that time getting it it was glitchy money and way to much ads im embarressed i even wrote that first one i wrote to be nice the qpp hadnt even been downloaded. Next time you wont excpect me to be going nice and this review was me goin easy on you you better take this shameful wo called app down people! Im not a mean person just a mad angered furious about this one.

I’ve had so much trouble with Remote and getting it to connect. And when I do actually get it to connect, I can’t ever get it to stay connected for more than 5 minutes. I got Remote to replace my broken controller until I was able to get a new one, and the amount of trouble it has given me makes the $30+ seem like nothing. Plus, since it only ever connects when it on the home screen, I have to constantly unplug and replug my fire stick, and in order to even make it so Remote will connect to the fire stick at all, you need an actual controller to turn off the ADB debugging thing. When Remote actually connects, its a cool thing to have for sure, but it’s not worth the hassle.

I downloaded Remote because I was having trouble with the buttons on my this app. A bunch of troubleshooting sites recommended it. I couldn’t connect to my tv at all and it kept telling me to access the settings under my fire tv. Hard to do when you can’t get your this app to work. Tried to cancel my subscription, have to do that under the fire tv as well. Obviously I can’t do that either. And it doesn’t show up as an installed app until after they charge you for it. So basically... don’t waste your time if you’re using it to trouble shoot. You’ll be out at least a one month subscription and no one can assist you.

The problem I have with Remote isn’t the this app itself. It works fine and does exactly what I need it to do. The problem is that after a certain point of use the ad pops up urging you to pay for the full version every single time you use the this app. Every. Single. Time. If I’m trying to navigate a screen with multiple features then it becomes a chore having to close out the ad just to get to the thing I want to click. I understand that it’s a free app and beggars can’t be choosers but I feel like it’s not too much to ask to have an app you can use regularly.

I downloaded Remote specifically because my daughters misplaced my original fire stick tv this app. And it looked easy enough to use and similar to how the this app works so I decided to purchase the full use for a year or whatever instead of weekly or monthly. That was stupid of me. Then I try to connect it to my Firestick which it wanted to do but I needed to apply the debugging or whatever; allow for it. And I couldn’t do it from Remote . I needed my original this app to do it which completely defeats the purpose of why I wanted to download this appin the first place. I would like a full refund effective immediately. This is extremely disappointing.

I preordered Remote by mistake when looking for a decent option to replace my fire stick this app. I paid something like $2.99, which isn’t bad in the scheme of things. When Remote was finally released, I decided to try it after already having found my misplaced this app, thinking I could use Remote with all the fire sticks in my home, like a universal this app. WRONG!!! After having paid the cost for Remote , you have to pay to use it monthly?! This is an absolute crock. $2.99 a week? $7.99 a month? The stupidest thing I’ve ever encountered. I can’t connect my devices without a charge to see if Remote even works.

TL;DR just buy a new fire tv this app.

I got Remote because my this app hasnt been working. Remote hardly ever connects to the fire stick, I have to open and close Remote in order for it to work, but that doesnt work all the time. Now I cant use it at all and I already turned on the setting on my fire stick when my this app sort of worked for a few seconds. So now I cant even change that setting because I dont have a this app and thats why I bought Remote to be a temporary this app and it doesn't even work. The free ones work way better even with the glitches and keyboard issues. At least they connected every time.

The whole this app does not come up on my phone where the select button should be. I have remove Remote and downloaded it again to see if that would fix the issue. So every time if I want to move up or down it does not do it. It only will select what is already highlighted.

Also if you have lost your this app to your fire TV and you are trying to use this as a replacement, you will not be able to. There is no way to get to where you need to be to allow debugging to be turned on, because you have no this app to move around to n the fire tv.

This is a waist of my time.

Requires the fire stick setting for ADB Debugging to be on. Stick setting display includes warning “Warning: This will allow anyone on your network to install applications from untrusted sources. “ I have the stick on my guest network because I already don’t trust it well enough for my home network. Forcing the debugging mode to on is symbolic of developers that are amateurs. Never trust them. Removing this unsafe app now.

Remote may or may not be a threat to your stick. But the ADB Debugging requirement puts your stick at risk of compromise by anything else on your network. (Think infected guest machines.) just say no.

Extremely laggy and unresponsive, doesn’t show any of the channels I have and the “touch screen” control is overkill. What happened to plain old up/down/left/right buttons, it’s almost as if the developers tried to make it overlay complicated. Sometimes the best is the simplest thing. Also absolutely no explanation on why I should pay $25 for the premium version, will it give me the simple controls? I am keeping Remote only as a emergency backup in case I ever lose my this app but I’ll probably never use it other then as an emergency.

I’m guessing they fixed the ad problem by making this not free? Anyways I installed this because my this app broke, so I was hoping installing Remote would solve my problem, but it’s telling to to goto the settings on my tv to enable something on it so that it can connect to my tv... BUT how can I with no this app 🤦🏻‍♀️so now I’m tryna cancel my subscription before I get charged for an app that wasn’t helpful to me, but I’m more sure on how to cancel. I tried clicking on the email button but it does nothing. I goto the FAQ and going an email there, I click it and still nothing. So now I am writing this review, hoping I get a respond.

Remote is total garbage. It keeps (and by keeps popping up, I mean EVERYTIME I click to move the cursor. Click to move to the next box, ad pop, click the x, and move the cursor to the next program box, ad pop, etc. etc.) popping up with the ad to buy a subscription. I already have a subscription for my Fire TV Stick, and this is absolutely no help in avoiding said ad. Also, every time I leave Remote to do anything with my phone, I have to reconnect the this app control app to my Fire TV Stick. To be totally honest, if this is the only this app control you have for a Fire TV Stick, go with a competitor.
