Application Review: Highly Disappointing User Experience

I am extremely dissatisfied with this application and would rate it below zero if such a rating were possible. The user interface is exceptionally challenging to navigate, resulting in confusion and frustration. The lack of clear indications regarding account locations further compounds the difficulties. Moreover, the limited options provided by the application add to the overall frustration. I have also encountered issues where certain accounts are not visible during the transfer process. Comparatively, the previous version of the application was significantly better. Due to the shortcomings of this current version, I have contemplated changing banks. However, attempting to revert to the old application has proven futile as I receive a message stating that I cannot download it because I have already installed the new version. This restriction feels like a punishment, and I cannot comprehend the reasoning behind the modifications or support provided by the IT team for this aggravating "Application xNbad." Unless improvements are made or the previous version is reinstated, it appears as though the bank may inadvertently drive customers away in search of a more cooperative institution with better IT services.

Having trusted device

Couldn’t do it online and was not able to transfer my funds! Then I had a shock of my life! In December 2023 I was at the bank branch and I already had my account changed to non residential and they confirmed all is good. Beginning March, the bank closed my account because of KYC which I couldn’t download online because I don’t have ID as I don’t reside in Dubai anymore. I tried corresponding online and by phone but no luck. I sent my documents by email as I couldn’t download it to ENBDX online and after one week they confirmed all is well. But no news about my money! I was out of my funds till I travelled to Dubai and went to the branch where I opened my account initially. There they told me there was a bank draft issued in my name! What if I couldn’t come physically to the bank??? What if I didn’t have money as I was out of my funds for 3 months!!!??? I was a banker myself for 20 years and have accounts in other several banks and unfortunately this bank has shown me it is the worst bank anyone can deal with!! And phone customer services were absolutely useless!!!!!

Poorly designed and misleading card payment functionality

The NBDx app offers basically the same functionality for banking as its predecessor, but it seems to actively be trying to deceive users into not paying off full credit card balances so that the bank can earn Interest. When selecting to pay against a credit card, it only offers how much balance is left *of the most recent statement* - which is not the same as the amount currently on the card. To find this amount, you must navigate back to the opening page which cites the “total outstanding” amount. A user can then manually enter this amount, but it is misleading and unlike any other credit card platform that I have ever seen that it is not offered as a clear and easy payment option when one clicks in to pay a balance. Further, when you do pay anything, the amount is not immediately reflected - which can lead to confusion about what the ACTUAL amount remaining to be paid is. These characteristics feel dishonest and quite user-unfriendly.

Lack many key features

Nice new UI ,however few main features are missing that were there on the old app that worked perfectly why do i have ti manually type what i need to pay for my credit card?it should have pay (open text) ,pay min (n) and pay all .
International transfers and recent list is not up to date and i lost all history of beneficiaries.
No way to go back to the old app or even choose which one upon login, all the old features need to be back or keep both apps as a hybrid solution till all features are migrated to the new app.
Please find a better way to manage this transition .

A backwards move by ENBD

This is the first time I review an app here. I’ve been with the bank since 15 years and what i liked is the online banking and ENBDX . Now this change a big disappointment. ( from a certified product manage)No transaction view vs remaining balance, no search transactions by date, no outgoing vs incoming transactions view. UI is really bad space is utilized for design rather than usability. Bring back the features that mattered and by the way where is mepay and that slide bar when completing a transaction is too low for iphone users as it moves to another app. Who ever worked on ENBDX should have done a soft launch instead of migrating users to a half cooked app. What matters to ur users is that ability to monitor their transactions, be able to analyze the spend and make transfers. U removed the monitoring by just listing and u killed the space with useless UI.

Bad app ever

If i can give less than 1star, I definitely do it. This is the most complicated and unstable app ever. Normally the upgrade app is the better but not for this one. If you can’t do anything betty than the previous one so stop trying to act like you’re upgraded or you’re more innovative because this is really worst. ENBDX keeps asking me to do the smart pass pin before allow me to do any activities on ENBDX but unfortunately ENBDX itself keeps showing “something wrong please try again later” every time when I try to set the pass. So how can I do the transaction???? And also no response from customer service team so I’m doubt.

Not Happy - don’t fix something that wasn’t broken

The delay from the time of “request” of payment till the actual payment unbelievable ! Also the messaging notification isn’t synced.
Bills and statements need to be manually refreshed instead of automatically refreshed when ENBDX is launched, unlike the previous app.
Details of local transfer don’t show like they did before, instead you get a request number. Also the list of details provided for transfer details are too detailed/ or don’t make any sense for the average user and should be made simpler - there is no “services” option listed instead “compensation” which means in English “something, typically money, awarded to someone in recognition of loss, suffering, or injury”.

The pervious app worked well. This new app complicates the simplest of transactions.

Bad App

If there is less than one star I would have selected it. Since I upgraded to this version I’m no more able to make international transfer to any new beneficiary who was not on the list before upgrade it keeps saying « failure, address input invalid » This is not my case only but also some other friends are having same issue. It’s really frustrating as by upgrading we expect better options not a downgrade! This is happening for more than 2 months and despite the calls to customer service the answer « there is a bug and we will be soon releasing a new version of ENBDX » when this corrective version will be released, none knows!!!!!!!!!

Bloated and annoying

ENBDX itself is generally OK, but some of the basic functionality is so badly designed that it’s baffling. The constant notifications to amortise spend; the perpetual pop-ups to invest in whatever the flavour of the month is, the aggravating pushing of products…the marketing team or whomever is responsible for this nonsense should be fired, because it ruins the user experience. Also frustrating how you can’t easily manage beneficiaries directly, how funds transfers reset to the wrong accounts…just poor design and bad execution.

Messaging

It doesn’t work well- many glitches. There aren’t any notifications when you get a reply. Agents don’t reply fast enough. It takes a long time to load and most of the time when it does, it shows ‘error’ or ‘message not sent’. It’s useless to be honest. Replies are auto generated. Not much detail given . It’s not easy to communicate with the bank. When you go to the branch, they turn you away. Everything is online now so make it easier for customers to communicate when they need support.

Falls short of expectations

this app was launched with great fanfare but it does not perform the way it is supposed to perform ie have the updated customer data upfront. I received my new supplementary card and it gives me options to activate. However, it cannot be updated online as it still shows the old card in ‘Replace’ mode despite it having been replaced. Secondly, the address on the letter continues to be the old address despite ENBDX showing my current address. So obviously there is a data mismatch between ENBDX and the CRM: customer data is not getting updated. Overall the experience has been poor. Even the SMS facility for activation doesn’t work.

Feels more natural than the previous app

I spent like 20 minutes exploring ENBDX , there is a learning curve if you’re coming from the older app, however it’s a small curve, you’ll get there. Honestly, it has more features than the older app, so the curve comes with some sparkly bits :>
The only negative thing I have currently is that there’s no dark theme. It’s 2023, I don’t wanna be blinded at night because I wanted to check out ENBDX ;-; but that’s it, I, alongside many others, would love a dark theme, y’know, add a professional look to things instead of the bland white thing older folks keep piping on about.

1- I would like to see the option of "Transfer to Own account " once I open one of my accounts in the list . 2- why can't I see my ENBD UK account in the list anymore ?? . It used to be convenient to be able to review my account . I don't know how to check it anymore. 3- I would like to be able to list my accounts in the order I choose not what ENBDX chooses for me ! It's very inconvenient and time consuming to look for an account when the foreign currency accounts , saving accounts and current account are randomly placed in the list .

App not work with iPad well

On iPad you see nothing like before. There was no warning before and it looks like the is no way back. With the old App I still can use the Smart Pass Token (God thanks!). Otherwise I am totally f… up. The screen is for iPhone not for iPad. You see nothing and also what you see is not enough. There not way to make a bigger screen. Why there is no way back? I want my old app back. Now I must open always the browser and go over the internet site.

Poor overview, poor structure

Unfortunately I upgraded to the new app of NBD and what a BIG mistake to do so. The previous version was 200% better than this NBD X version. Please do NOT upgrade as you lose too many useful tools and settings, it doesn’t update old cards that were no longer valid and NBD keeps charging you annual fees for an expired card: THEFT. This bank needs some developers to make ENBDX a 5 star rating. After 14 years with this bank it may be time to say goodbye.

Bad app

I didn’t choose to update ENBDX but it did happened automatically. By this update I lost my smart pass and could not reactivated. My RM tried for over a month to activate my smart pass or to change the registered phone number since that number was discontinued, but no success. I am out of the country and couldn’t use my account or pay my bills. I visited a branch in the foreign country and signed all paper to change my register phone as requested by my RM but still no success. All this trouble because of the new app. Can anyone help

The actual number one consumer bank. Customer focused

I’ve been in Dubai for 25 years now and I dealt with multiple banks, including international ones.
In the UAE this is by far the best consumer banking institution. extremely customer focused. I’ve gone through several issues, some trivial some deep, and they were all given that due attention and resolved.
Another thing I’d like to say is that the offerings are real and have real value to the clients, and these offers consistently deliver.
So here we have it a local bank that is on the global map. Highly Recommended.

THE WOST EXPERIENCE

This bank hold my money, block my transactions and put me in very bad situations just because i don’t have access to the registered phone number anymore and im outside the UAE currently- I wrote 100 emails and paid 100$ in international calls- they could identify me through secret questions, registered email… but they keep not allowing my access to my money till I go physically to Dubai to change my phone number, which currently I can’t- Life circumstances change, things you can’t control happen, everyone’s situation can be different and this bank have no consideration for people at all.

Application private wall is not working

I cannot send a message/inquiries through your new mobile banking application. I keep sending an e-mail but you're always asking me to send through the private wall of ENBD app but It is not working. I am living outside UAE and I'm having a hard time in transacting my account. Kindly fixed your mobile application.

No total account balance detail history per each transaction

You can’t view the total account balance change per each transaction ( you can can’t see the change in your total account balance per each transaction ) many banking apps have that option, for me this is a basic and important financial dashboard option
