Great app for beginner/ returner

I purchased FitmeterBike last summer after pulling my schwinn Le Tour out of mothballs during the pandemic. I didn’t want to invest a lot in a bike computer in case my reemergence into cycling didn’t take. I still wanted an idea of how far, fast and consistent I was going.
This works quite well for that. It works good via GPS. I later purchased Wahoo sensors to get rpm and hopefully better speed data. I imagine Uber / expert cyclists may want more, but there are more expensive “toys” out there for that.

My only real criticism is that after you hit “Stop” it asks you if you are really wanting to finish, which is good, but the spot you touch is hard to read and small to aim at , especially with polarized sunglasses on. Maybe they could stack those two options vertically and make them a little bigger. Those like myself who are a little lacking in fine eye hand coordination would likely appreciate.

Jury still out

I just downloaded FitmeterBike and went for a 20 mile ride. I like the screen layout and the data that is recorded.
I have 3 observations that drop my rating from a 5 to a 3:
1. I am not sure the GPS speed was accurate. I have been riding for 30 plus years and I know what 10, 15, 17, 18, 20, etc mph feels like and it felt to me that the speed calculation in real time was reading several mph low.
2. There is an option to connect your Apple Watch to record pulse data but my watch does not show up in FitmeterBike and there are no options to search for it. As a result no pulse info was recorded despite the fact that I was wearing the watch the whole time. I looked for answers on line with no luck. This led me to my third observation
3. FitmeterBike developers are from Germany so most of the posts when you look for answers are in German (which is fine if you understand German, but for me my junior high German brain cells have long since been repurposed LOL)
If someone can tell me how to connect my watch to FitmeterBike I could give it 4 stars. (The speed accuracy keeps it from getting 5 stars but I suspect that is an issue with all of these GPS based phone apps anyway)

I like it

Seems to work. Easy to use. Easy to learn. I have been using it for over a year now.
The pages of information are excellent.
I don't use cadence or hart rate. On a 30 mile ride it tracks within 0.3 miles compared to my wheel magnet speed and distance meter . I live on a boat on the ocean, I start the program when I get to the dock, I stop it when I get back to the dock and sometimes the altitude will be off 70 feet or so, that has nothing to do with FitmeterBike . That is all about the errors in the GPS receiver in your phone.
I have discovered that it needs to be up on the screen when you shut off your phone or it does not continue tracking. When I go to my shopping list or google maps I need to remember to bring it back up on the main screen before turning off the phone.
It does not seem to use much power as compared to google maps running with the phone off.
Auto pause works fine.
I run it in a iPhone 6s.

Love this app!!

This is a perfect app. Shows the data I want to see while riding (mph, map, avg speed and a few more) and arranged perfect on the screen. Then when the ride is over you can see a graph of your ride’s elevation and speed. It keeps an awesome history of the rides. I don’t typically buy apps, I always use free apps, but this one was so perfect during the free trial that I broke down and bought it and I have never regretted that decision! I have even told friends and family how great it is and they should buy it. Best app I ever bought.

Better sharing options

FitmeterBike has been good so far. Overall, I believe the incremental improvements have been good so far. The draw backs I have are the ability to share individual map’s of sessions and connecting with others. I don’t want to share my entire history each time. I also would like to see what my partner is doing or maybe where they are on the trail. Bikes are hard to find now. They are flying off the shelves. I have shared FitmeterBike with at least three others because we ride together. These apps are becoming more and more popular. This is a great time to seize the moment. Keep up the great work.

Great app that put a smile on my face!

I was searching for an app exactly like this one. I purchased it and am very happy. Today I was riding my bicycle somewhat slow, enjoying the views not rushing anywhere. In history it put a little snail in front of todays date, I guess its because I was slower then other days :D. It made me smile, just what I needed :D! FitmeterBike is great!

Overall very good with some minor room for improvement

Program is intuitive and graphically pleasing. Key information like speed, distance and map are kept large enough to see readily.
Was baffled that the history did not carry over to the full version automatically. It turned out you have to export to iCloud in Basic version, then import from iCloud in full version.

A few things I noticed:

- I lost a session after clicking STOP but not confirming when exiting app
- Distances on the same route can vary by several percent
-Calories calculated can vary substantially on same route and almost identical time and distance
- Auto Pause seems ineffective. Average speed is not calculated as the moving average, but distance divided by total time. Would like to see moving average, means average speed over time while moving AND average speed over entire time of session.

Overall very good app with room for some minor improvements.

Nice app could be tweaked

Nice app for tracking, however the heart monitor does not sync up to my apple watch 3. It seams the heart monitor only records if I start FitmeterBike from the watch and not the iphone. I would like to see one app for different tracking rather then using one for biking one for running/walking. Right now I use the pay version of fitmeter bike, fitmeter running, a walking app, swim app and finally a kayak app. There are a few apps out there that will do it all in one app however the detail in fitmeter is the best. Which you could develop a all in one app.

Love it!!!

This is a great app, EXCEPT when it crashes in the middle of a ride and loses all the info. A couple updates back it started and seems to happen about one in ten rides. Very frustrating if the objective is to kee track of cumulative miles. I am on an iPhone 6. This is happening almost half the time.

Horrible app

Basic app is 10 times better, however, you only get 10 free tracking sessions before you are required to upgrade. Totally makes that you would have an improved app experience, WRONG!!!
Used new app 6 times, totaling 100 bike miles and the history displays a total of 22 miles. Miles incorrect, gps routes incorrect, average speed incorrect. I could go on and on.
I gave it a shot. Not worth the frustration, I deleted FitmeterBike . I read the negative reviews but I didn’t think it would happen to me.
Have fun with this whack app

Well designed & supported plus real data privacy!

Clean, clear interface and dashboard display, good support for BT speed/cadence/heart rate sensors for indoor and outdoor training. Better yet - and a big reason why I chose it - it offers real, unambiguous data privacy (I actually read privacy policies). Your data is your own and stays that way.

Max speed makes me a superman

Great app for tracking my ride. I have the paid version and it works great on my iPhone XS. However, there's no way I'm going almost 40 mph as a top speed. I don't ride steep hills so I know it's not that. Needs some improvement there. Seems like maybe it is adding averages over auto pause sections? I'd give it 5 stars but for the max speed issue.

Stopped recording

As of the last month or so, if I or my wife starts FitmeterBike with our watch, it counts down like it is supposed to and appears to be working. But when we check our progress, FitmeterBike is running but it’s not recording the distance. We have to stop and start FitmeterBike on our phone. It’s a pain because for the first mile after restarting, we constantly check the phone to make sure it’s working properly. The wife had a 12 mile ride that never recorded.

Worked like a champ until -

I used FitmeterBike everyday and clocked all my rides. I loved it. But after a year it started to have issues as I couldn’t check my records and it would for no apparent reason just stop working. I don’t know it is good for only a period of time or I just wore it out. I may try it again as I really liked it but I don’t know if I’ll have a lot of trust in it.

So easy to use!

I live FitmeterBike because it’s just so easy to use. I paid the extra couple of dollars to keep all data a year ago. No bugs. Works perfect for keeping track of my cycle rides.

use it all the time - history could be better

I’m a paid user and use FitmeterBike every time I go for a ride. It’s a great way to track my workouts.

The history tab, though, could be a lot better.

First, stop highlighting the top item in the list. It serves no purpose and just makes it difficult to read the details.

Second, add more details to the history list so I don’t have to open a record to see basic information. Ideally there would be a preference to select two or three data points but (at a minimum) it should show duration and miles by default.

Keep up the good work.

Good App, poor data transfer

Overall a good user friendly and intuitive app; however, very frustrating with the poor data transfer options when upgrading phones. Had to reload dozens of individual cycle sessions on new phone - because of this, looked at alternative app options.

Easily top of the list.

I’ve been through approximately 50 bike apps in 10 years.
Easiest to read, best stat display, nice rabbit/snail feature, best graphing without being confusing, no pesky delay for gps., averages are on ride display, and there’s more. Thank you guys for a sweet lil computer.

We’ll see

I expected the paid version of FitmeterBike to start off from the free version, but it didn’t, and I lost one trip. Further, on my second trip it didn’t start either and when I came back there was a notice do I want to allow it to access GPS so I’m trying it again and hopefully it will work this third time I’ve already lost two rides.

Problems with Apple Watch

I’ve had FitmeterBike for a number of months and just began experiencing an issue where FitmeterBike restarted on my watch multiple times after I finished my ride and ended the session. Needless to say, this is very annoying and drains the batteries of the watch and iphone.

I had to delete FitmeterBike from my watch to solve this problem.

Junk

Tried the free app and it worked great got to the point of the end of the free trial. I purchased the upgrade $4.99 doesn’t work at all no connectivity no gps didn’t import previous work outs. Tried everything thing with settings still no luck waste of $5.00 would not recommend!

Fitmeter Bike

Good app for Data. 1 problem is I upgraded from the free version and lost my history. I’d love to recover those records. Edit. This problem resolved today. I’m very happy with FitmeterBike

Paid for something that does work.

I just paid for FitmeterBike so that I could track my speed, cadence and heart rate. However, the only thing it tracked was my heart rate. It showed that the cadence and speed sensors we're connected, but no readings we're being shown. It's a Shane you have to pay for it before you find out if it works with your gear. I'm using just your basic Garmin speed and cadence sensors, but no data was received from them.

How do you download data to an excel spreadsheet. Currently I have several years of data and cant figure how to simply download to Excel Supposedly that data goes to icloud but that is totally difficult. Would appreciate some guidance to just download to Excel! Ellis

I've been using this app for nearly 6 months. I love it. Pairs with my Apple Watch and adds great functionality. The history feature let's me review my progress and share info with other riders.
