Potential but needs miles and tire size change abilities

RideControlebikeapp has some potential but because it only reads in kilometers that is a little bit limiting for the North American market. Also it is confusing what heart monitors are supported. The other issue that I have is that the giant E bikes do not support changing tire sizes. The dash readouts are in error if you change tires. having the ability to change tire sizes and RideControlebikeapp so that the dash would read correctly would be a big benefit.

Guess they had to start with something...

As it is a new app, I will give it two stars until it improves. No imperial unit support and being a typical American, metric units are meaningless. Won’t keep phone display on like navigation apps do (should be configurable). It’s nice that you can save your ride, but can’t open them and view them later. My 2019 bike does not have a display, so none of the features for the bike display are of any value. My Apple Watch does a better job tracking my ride than RideControlebikeapp does.

Lacking!

I am giving this a single star due to it being able to adjust each power level. That is also the reason I am only giving it one star because that's all you can do!!! It should have a dash board to be able to view MPH/KPH, distance traveled approximate distance left. All the stuff that is already in the programming of the motor ready! I hope this is something that is being worked on. Would be nice to have this stuff seeing how my Trance E+ pro2 does not have a display.

Awful app with terrible documentation

****Update version 1.4.3****

Now crashes more beautifully with dark mode!

****Update version 1.4.2****

In an attempt to develop the world’s most awful app, Giant has outdone themselves! RideControlebikeapp didn’t work before, but after the latest update, it’s even worse. On a 2019 QuickE, it connects to the bike, says to contact the dealer and promptly crashes. On a 2018 QuickE, it just says it’s not compatible. Even though the previous rev didn’t function, at least it connected fine to both bikes. I still can’t update firmware, receive onscreen phone messages, or see onscreen navigation, all of which were published selling features of the bike.

Works Perfectly

Three ebikes on RideControlebikeapp, two iPhones.
If you’re having troubles just stop back at your dealer - everything is under warranty.

Firmware update still disabled.

My 2019 Quick E+ has 2017 firmware and I can’t update it! I’d really like to have the clock and phone connection abilities, but not available with older firmware. Also, RideControlebikeapp is useless if you turn the screen off to put in your pocket. It’s just so poor. Like they don’t care a bit about their customers ever buying another bike.

Very buggy app

Application does not connect well with the bike. Mileage is wrong despite using GPS, screen freezes each time after a few minutes and the information does not get updated. It feels like Giant commissioned a very weak team to develop RideControlebikeapp. RideControlebikeapp should not have been launched without better testing.

Worthless

I have an error wrench icon on my display of my Giant Quick E+ but when I click system doctor and scan it says everything is fine. What’s the point of RideControlebikeapp? It doesn’t give you any information and the tracking ability is completely worthless.

Suggestions-questions

Three days ago, RideControlebikeapp stopped uploading the activity it was capturing during my ride. Any ideas why?

The Bluetooth is interfering with the module on the bike. It makes it go into demo mode randomly during a ride. Super aggravating.

It would be great if RideControlebikeapp worked with the Apple Watch and read the heart rate info from there.

It would be great to plot a route and then have RideControlebikeapp show where you are using more or less energy-to kind of challenging you for the next run if that same route.

App crashes with brand new 2020 E Pro Road Bike

Like a lot of people have said, it says contact dealer and then crashes. I can get the navigation to work but not bike info to change bike settings. Too many people running into this for it not to be a major problem!

Recent update still doesn’t allow adjustments

Was hoping the most recent update would allow me to see and adjust battery settings but it doesn’t. Still says to contact dealer!!!

Absolute garbage

App only connects occasionally and it’s functionality when connected is useless. In track ride mode it mapped me out doing 11 miles when I did 6.6. Why have an app this crappy?

Last update

The last update made it to where MPH stopped working

Not ready.

Tried RideControlebikeapp out with my giant explore ebike. At the first stop light it disconnected from the bike and stopped recording data. If I were the software engineers developing RideControlebikeapp I would not be very proud. The giant ebike seems ok. RideControlebikeapp is one of the lesser I have experienced.

No support

Used RideControlebikeapp last year and it worked great. No I keep getting errors and there seems to be no information regarding the errors. Would love an update. App finds my bike and connects and then says “See Dealer”.
