TV Cast for Fire TV® Reviews

I didn’t download TVCast because I cut the cord or something. I downloaded it to view my movie projects on my fire stick without having to download it to my phone and lose precious phone storage. Except, TVCast forces you to pay for a lot of basic functions like scrubbing the video. I’ve found that TVCast will stop at a certain point during playback without fail, forcing you to watch the movie from the beginning which can be time consuming and extremely frustrating. If you want to be able to resume playback you’ll have to pay for the scrubbing function but I suspect as soon as you pay for that, the video won’t suddenly stop more than halfway through your video - making your purchase almost useless.

I wouldn’t suggest using TVCast if you’re going to be watching movies because it will almost always suddenly stop working during the movie and force you to either buy the scrubbing function or start your movie over from the beginning. Unless you want to pay for those things. If you’re just trying to use it for free like me, it’s best to use it for videos 30mins or less.

This is the second version of TVCast I have tried. The one for the chrome cast works flawlessly and I cannot recommend highly enough. I've only had the fire TV stick and TVCast for a little over a month and it's spotty at best. The first issue I had with it wasn't even performance related but rather that you had to pay extra for the video progress bar. That was free with the chrome version and without it all you have is play and pause control. Now to the performance issues. It doesn't connect about 50% of the time, even after restarting TVCast on my phone and the fire stick or restarting the fire stick all together. I've only had this issue once or twice in over 3 years of use with the Chromecast. I don't know if this is a hardware issue in that the Chromecast is a better product with better comparability for third party app integration or what. Very disappointed with the Fire stick version.

This is trash. I’d rather pork chops. I’m a 79 year old woman and I’ve never seen anything like this. I want MeTV, you gave me TrashTV. I wanted Antenna TV, you nitwits gave me hell. I wanted Cozi TV, you gave me an extra ticket to the gutter. Last but not least, I wanted GetTV, you Chain Of Fools gave me D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Now, Who’s Zoomin’ Who, child? On the Freeway To Hell. You purposely described this trifling, nasty, disgusting app as a free app, and then when I stick my tonsils in it, you tell me to pay $100.9 for it! I’m not paying for this wacko, foolish buffoonery. Holy chitlins! I prefer chicken salad. That’s what my grand babies, Peppa and Raymond, love. Yestiddy, I made some chicken salad at 11:10 and it was gone before lunch. Actually, chicken salad-I mean I have to go. But I just wanted to clear that up. If you could stop charging me money and add MeTV, GetTV, Antenna TV, and Cozi TV, then I’d give ya five stars. End of discussion. Stop trying to scam and rob the elderly. Point blank, periot.

I downloaded earlier in the summer. It worked immediately but almost just as immediately I would find that it’s very glitchy. It works without issue for maybe 60-70% of the time. And then it’ll go a day or two or 3 even without being able to connect no matter how many times I reset my Firestick tv or iPhone. Sometimes the glitch can last a few hours sometimes it’s a few days. That’s what I find extremely irritating. I paid for TVCast and as much as I love it when it’s working. 60-70% of the time is a very low bar for performance. I don’t understand why this glitch can’t be fixed. I wish they would man up and do something already...it’s last update was nearly 3 months ago. Not cool. It could be and should be so much better but alas it seems like no one cares to address the problem.

I’ve been using TVCast for a while, and once you get the hang of it (and learn a few tricks) it’s pretty fantastic... I have both a Fire Stick and Chromecast, and this allows me to stream through each with relative ease.

But I took away 2 stars for this review because it’s suddenly not working! I copy and paste the url into their browser, as I’ve always done - but when I hit “go” the address bar disappears, and it just stays on the homepage. I sent an error report to customer service, and so far I’ve only gotten an auto-reply saying “we might not respond but will note your issues” or something like that. Hopefully this is resolved soon, so I don’t have to find a new app for casting. Bummer. :-(

I’ve downloaded and tried just about every casting app for the Fire Stick. The first question is always, “Does it work?” Most of them don’t. So TVCast has that going for it. The next issue is, “Will it continue to work?” Both Fire Rocket and iWebTV have stopped working for me on my iPhone 7Plus, though I can still download movies through Fire Rocket. TVCast is a little more confusing to use, but it works. I’ll wait to see if it stays working before I pay to upgrade it.

I bought the upgraded version with the Control Bar etc..months ago with the understanding that you the developer was going to fix the “No Sound” issue? It’s been several months and I still cannot hear any audio on any video I play which renders TVCast useless? I am playing back videos that require sound to understand what’s going on? Also some videos are of my children playing in concerts. So...when will this fix be in place? If I had known it would take this long I would never have spent $6.99 on the deluxe version of TVCast, again it’s useless!

I hate this garbage, I am used to being able to cast from my phone with a simple browser add-on, for Roku or Chromecast but for fire tv TVCast is bad, annoying and useless. I logged in to a site to access my membership videos but since it opened a pop up window to enter my user name and password it replaced the main window instead of opening a second tab. So once I was done with the pop up I couldn’t do anything other than go to the main page again which asked me to log in.

Figure out how to make money from TVCast without making it so limited if it was free it would be easier to use. I hate this poorly made garbage it reflects your limited imagination and knowledge.

Needs slightly better functionality. If this was taken care of, I’d say 5 stars and if it combined all the other apps into one.. the fact that it doesn’t is a disgusting money grab, especially when as mentioned above, functionality needs improvement… worth getting the free version only.. I have the pro, and I want my money to show what I’m paying for.

I downloaded this to cast a video from a browser to my Fire TV and it didn't work, so I downloaded premium since it seemed to promise full functionality. After messing with it for almost an hour, I still couldn't get it to work. I got a message that said "this content is not supported." So I basically spent $7 for something to tell me the content wasn't supported. Not sure if I can get my money back, but love to if possible. Giving 2 stars since I don't know how it works with videos other than those played in a browser.

It cuts out every so often and sometimes it can’t read the video im trying to watch, so I have to reclick the video link to watch it.

When it works, it’s awesome. I just wish they had a queue feature though. If they could allow you to queue videos on top of each other (say I wanted to watch something broken into different parts), instead of having to click on a different link every time the video ends, then I would rate this 5 stars.

I’ve used TVCast occasionally for a month or so and still believe it's the best screen mirroring app available. That doesn't mean it's perfect but considering that none of the other apps I tried worked this one does work. There is room for improvement but is easy to set up, easy to use and though it has some bugs TVCast is very usable. I hope the developers continue to develop TVCast.

I downloaded this to watch an online concert on my TV. After opening TVCast on my phone, I got a full screen pop-up ad about upgrading, but with no way to get out of it to use TVCast . I would’ve paid for TVCast . Just post it as a paid app instead of calling it free and then making it useless without upgrading. I’m so aggravated that now I won’t use it on principle—free or not. We’re hooking up a computer to the TV instead. This is not how you treat users and expect to convert them into paying customers.

First off TVCast worked the the videos I wanted to watch so that's a big plus. I did have one video not play correctly but I found it elsewhere and that could have been a bad site. The best thing is they don't force you to download a app on the fire unlike other apps. I'll probably get the pro version that supports all three devices when I can.

When it once was decent providing ability to cast videos to fire stick upon TV it has now been “updated” where it forces you to accept watching an ad before able to cast any video to the TV. What’s worse is that these videos do NOT load properly and often glitch out somehow thereby making any casting of any video essentially impossible without paying for it.

So maybe if you pay for premium it might be worth it. However the free version is basically nothing but false advertising(free version doesn’t work thereby compelling you to have to pay for premium).

I keep getting an error message on my tv when I try to stream my regular links. It just started being temperamental in the last couple weeks. The message says “content not supported.” If I keep retrying over and over again for a minute or 2, it works, sometimes. Can you look into a fix for this?

I love that i dont have to use an apple product to watch movies online. Only problem is sometimes it doesnt connect to fire stick but they let you know to unplug fire stick, tv, and wifi. It works right after everything reconnects to wifi. It might be my fire stick that causes the problem bc its kinda old.

I used TVCast for awhile and everything was perfect, so I decided to go premium and pay for the new extra features since I got so much use out of TVCast . Almost immediately it stopped connecting to my FireTV Cube! I can reset my WiFi or the cube itself and nothing fixes it. I actually deleted TVCast once and reinstalled it and that seemed to work for a bit but now I can’t connect again. So for now it’s pretty useless... please fix this! Your other screen mirroring app connect no problem, so it’s not an issue with my device or setup.

I downloaded TVCast because it helps me to view my videos on fire stick every but the video stops at the middle or you can fast forward very easily so if the video cuts off and you play it back and try to fast forward it’s just a pain. The wireless connection is not accurate, it sees the fire stick in the neighbors house but not the one I’m right in front of!!! It doesn’t make sense!! And yes I checked if my fire stick is connected to the same WiFi because I use the remote on my phone... so I gave up on TVCast.

Great app. Works well. I know that people probably rate it a 4 for the in app purchase, but y’all gotta realize people need to make money!’ I’m actually gonna do the paid app now!!! I’ve enjoyed this and the Roku version for awhile and both work as advertised. I did pay for the fast forward and pause control.

Update after 6/8/18 they fixed what they broke and now it works fine again. Thanks for that and you can have 3 stars back :)

Was working fine with some quirks and ads but for free it was great. Now it’s just a struggle to get it to connect to the firestick. No stars until fixed.

It seemed to work well earlier today then suddenly TVCast would freeze or it would just a completely black screen on my tv with just audio. I was able to stream a video fine earlier today but this evening I had nothing but problems. If I didn’t use TVCast it would work fine on my phone but the streaming would not work. There is something I’d like to watch tomorrow I’ll give it another shot. If not I guess I’ll get a 20ft hdmi cable and hook it from my pc to my tv.
