Works for the patient customers

Renfe is 95% there. But that 5% of unpolished and not well-tested software makes for a very frustrating experience. After paying with my credit card and authorizing the purchase, I returned to the this app app only to see the initial payment screen again, as though I had not entered the info and had not payed. Now what?! I saw the charge on my CC so now what do I do?! I just killed Renfe and restarted it and voila, the tickets were actually there under My Journeys. The website is similarly frustrating. We’re talking about the largest train company in Spain that cannot do proper QA of its application and website?! Come on guys!

A ver si se ponen las pilas con el servicio de este app. Es una vergüenza.

Creador card purchases don’t work

We are traveling internationally from the United States. And every time we try to make a purchase with a credit card Renfe says the charge was denied, but we call our bank and they can’t even see the transaction come through on their end or visas ends. We have tried Renfe with four or five different tickets on four or five different days and it never works.

Does not complete the sign up process

Put my data in 4 x and each time it was unable to complete the process. Seems like a waste of time, should be much easier. I am trying to install from Brazil but that should not be a problem as I will be travelling extensively in spain and would like to book everything well in advance as to not have surprises. Not happy

Payments and Beyond

Renfe is challenging to navigate. It often gets stuck between screens and navigating the payment screen is horrendous. Often boots you out and when you finally make it all the way through, you’re told that no more tickets are available in the price you wanted.

Another Useless Renfe Product

As I’ve come to expect, Renfe does not work. Just as their website doesn’t work, and their wifi only sporadically lets you connect. For how much a train ticket costs, you’d think they could pay someone to develop a couple basic, functional software items…

App is crap

90% of the time it will tell you there are no trains going between the stations you are traveling to/from. The other 10% of the time it will time out just as you put in your credit card number breaking your heart.

The website is about the same.

Sells ok, changes impossible

If you need to change the ticket, it doesn't work. I have 2 tickets with changes allowed for €5, and when I try to pay, it fails with "Oops something went wrong". The error message is useless. Calling by phone leads to "all are busy, call later".

Pull this app from the store

Renfe should be pulled from the store and either fixed or another mobile dev vendor engaged to create and fully test a new app. Renfe does not allow non-Spanish signups, the UI hides action buttons behind the keyboard, etc etc. Renfe looks like it was written by a secondary school “developer”.
Truly garbage.

Hands down, the worst train app

Errors for payments, logging you out, not having the right connections (I have to look at other train services to see where YOUR trains actually go) then I have to purchase the stops separately. What a horrible horrible website/app

App does not work at all

You cannot enter a phone number to create an account. It rejects any phone number as an incorrect format. You would think these guys would figure out no new accounts are being created at all. A laughable failure to QC your product.

One Star

Renfe simply does not work, it won’t accept my user name which I register on the website and every time I select any option it just keeps downloading. They get one star because I’m unable to give it zero.

Buggy app

Renfe is extremely frustrating. Very difficult to ensure your data is registered. Repeated issues with creating a password, selecting seat, and making payment.

What if your mobile number is from other country than spain?

Simply, You cannot register. Even if you don’t have a cel number, Renfe doesn’t let you go any further. A waste of time

Won’t allow me to log in

I’ve tried to log in 20 times on both my iPhone and iPad without success. I have no problem with the website, and had no problem with the previous app. Quien esta encargado de eso?!

Won’t accept US phone numbers

I can’t setup an account because this stupid app reverts back to +34 from +1 whenever i try to enter my phone number and gives me the “wrong format” error.

Worst app ever

You need a Spanish cel number to register but the menu is already in English, so it is obviously designed for tourists. I cannot believe the largest and only railway system in Spain would not pay to get a decent app developed!!!

Buggy

Won’t allow me to input my mobile number. I get an “incorrect format” message even though the number is correct. App stops working there.

Foreign Credit Card

With this app I always have issues to pay with a foreign credit card. It’s 2022… this should be solved by now.

Very poor

If you are booking several tix, forget about saving frequent passengers. It gives you the option, but it can’t seem to save more than two, and then you end up having to re-enter all of the info anyway. It has great trouble accepting credit cards. If it offers you the PayPal option, take it. That seemed to work better.

Renfe Ticket Application decent not great!

The this app Ticket Application decent not great! When trying to lookup a train to take some days says no trains or tickets available, go online on laptop plenty of tickets available! Trying to buy tickets is hit or miss if working correctly then pretty easy and simple but most times very difficult and buggy. Best use for app is to display your ticket to pass gate and the reminders that come up in your calendar for trips. For purposes of purchasing tickets it is a 1/5 Stars. This application could be solid 4 stars if working correctly but sadly it is a headache most of the time.

Took ten attempts to book a ticket. Kept giving different errors.

Constantly Crashes

After updating anytime I try to book a ticket with my bono it just crashes Renfe . I have tried reinstalling and no luck. I have to use the website…app is unusable.

App failure

I cannot even begin to describe how frustrating it is to use Renfe. Payments fail constantly, destinations will randomly not appear in the options, and it crashes regularly. I have wasted hours trying to buy tickets with this trash heap of coding garbage.

Hit and miss

Used to work well but now they must have used the team that does the development of the web and it is an hour and miss with trains not found, freezes, etc... 😞

Tarjeta crédito : el app no lo guarda

El app funciona, pero muy primitiva. En seleccionar la ruta, primero te pide el destino, sin darte la posibilidad de definir tu punto de salida. (Lo tienes que arreglar después, causando confusión innecesaria)

Tampoco guarda los datos de la tarjeta crédito y hay que numerar lo cada vez. Muy inconveniente para los que viajan con frequencia.

Couldn’t Create an Account

I am a traveler from the United States, and every time I tried to make an account I received an error message. I tried adjusting my information multiple different ways and still couldn’t get the registration to go through. Because I am not a registered user, I can’t use Renfe to buy tickets and have to go elsewhere.

No support for foreign phone numbers

this app apps accept phone numbers from other countries when you setup your account, but then, they cannot be used for two-factor authentication. Also, if you change/cancel your ticket, they cannot send any information to these phones

So far so good

Unlike my experience on the this app website and using the RenfePlay app, this has been a good experience so far. I like it because I have my tickets easily accessible on my phone. I haven’t tried buying tickets on it yet. However, it makes life easier then carrying around and pulling out physical tickets. It’s easy to see the train, car and seat numbers. I would recommend getting it if you travel with this app.
