Cool, but

I got LEGO because I am missing a couple instruction manuals for my this app sets, but I noticed that you don’t have some of the older Disney princess or this app friends sets. Such as raves castle with her three brothers or Rapunzel‘s tower the one with the older style molds and stuff I don’t remember the name for the redheaded girl of this app friends but her old lemonade stand is missing. Also the this app friends Olivia set with that rescue she had the Chamaeleon in that little tiger is like a rafting rescue or something also the this app friends Olivia set with that rescue she had the Chamaeleon and that little tiger is like a rafting rescue or something. Then there was Stephanie‘s car from the original this app friends and Stephanie‘s airplane seaplane I think it was. I would really love to have the instructions for those because my books are all broken and old. But otherwise LEGO is great because I can put the Instructions on my phone.

Great... but...

This is a great app for anyone that wants to log their this app sets and have a digital copy of instructions “just in case”. If I have one complaint it’s that older sets are not included. I’ve been collecting for DECADES (yeah, I’m OLD!) and I have sets that are not included in LEGO , that have instructions that are not looking so great after being moved around a bit. I also have some UCS sets that I just don’t want to handle the instructions more than I have to, of course these big sets were not known as UCS back then, “just big and expensive”!
I am in NO WAY bashing LEGO, it’s great! I’m hoping the development team on LEGO will continue to dig into the this app archives and upload the instructions from sets from the very first day this app made products. It would be great to have instructions to those old, never to be seen on the shelves again sets, so we old folks could recreate the sets from our childhood. I mean imagine what kind of business would be driven to the this app online store of people needing to buy the bricks to recreate the castles from our youth.
Here’s hoping they listen and add those older sets... PLEASE!!!

Seems good, but was stuck in the wrong language

First I was confused because LEGO came up in a language different from the one my iPhone is in. My iPhone is in English and I wanted to use LEGO in English, but it was in Japanese. To make things more confusing, when I went to iOS settings for LEGO, its “preferred language” was set to English but LEGO was ignoring this and doing its own thing. The first thing LEGO asks you for is your age and what kinds of data you’re willing to share… but the first thing it should ask is what language you want to use it in (or just follow the convention of the OS, use the system language, and allow switching in the OS settings). This would have saved me a lot of time. There is a language setting within LEGO , but new users will wonder what’s going on until they can find it. Now that I’m past the initial trouble, I look forward to using LEGO .

This app helps a lot

I have built a few sets with my kids and I used LEGO for all of them and it is a definite improvement over the booklet in each set.

There seems to be 2 types of instructions available within LEGO ; pdf and dynamic.

The pdf is an electronic copy of the instruction booklet, but it supports zooming and scrolling, so that is helpful.

The dynamic instructions is based on a CAD-type of program that is really useful because it supports zooming, scrolling, and rotation around an axis. This means that you can get a closer look at what you are assembling and rotate the objects so you can see it from different angles. This is soooo helpful when you are putting together the more complex sets because there is sometimes a lot going on in the page and misplacing a piece one or two spaces off is easy to do on the pdf. This lets you rotate the assembly and zoom in or out so you get a 100% clear picture of where each part goes.

For a free app that requires nothing from the consumer, you sure do get a lot in return!

No I’m app purchases and no adds…..this app is such an amazing company and they really do show you that they are more interested in the building rather than making a quick buck!

Should give them 6 stars here!

LEGO is freaking awesome

A few years ago our company spent a lot of time talking about Trust, and they asked for examples of companies and brands that consumers trust. I immediately raised my hand and shouted, “this app!”. The other GM’s laughed, but after I explained how this app is a fun brand, one you can count on to include everything you need-plus always a few little extra pieces!- and they have clear, easy to understand instructions to establish clear expectations for their consumers, the President of the company agreed and put this app at the top of list, where it remained as other great brands were also added later. The fact that you now also have these instructions available as an app is simply incredible.
Thank you for always being this app.
Appreciated!

Great App, hope to see it expanded!

LEGO is fantastic! I didn’t expect it to have instructions for my old sets, but it really has tons of my old sets as well, so long as I can remember their name or number. With the 3D instructions, my son was able to build one of his Christmas gifts completely on his own with no help!

I would like to see an option to save old retired sets to my collection just like I can with newer scannable sets. I’ve kept these old instruction books for years, but it would be nice not to have to go search through the whole library every time I want to find one. If I could save them to my collection I could get rid of these old booklets, but I’ll need to keep them if not, to remember what sets we have and what their numbers are.

Expanding the old sets that have a picture icon would be a good addition too, with a lot of my old sets, I’m kind of guessing on the names and then scrolling through results, so more icon pictures would make them easier to find.

I LOVE the 3D instructions options, and hope to see that option in more sets as time goes on. My an got 3 sets at Christmas but only one had the 3D option, I hope that’s a feature that gets more popular!

Top notch app that lives up to the LEGO name!!!

By now, the world knows when the name “this app” is attached to a product, that product is going to be of the highest quality and tons of fun! LEGO is no exception. It’s like having your own little library of instructions for all of your sets, nicely tucked away on your phone, ready to be viewed at any time. How convenient! Easy to use, easy to navigate, and I’ll say this, it’s loads of fun to look up instructions for sets you don’t have and see how they’re built. Plus, if you have the spare pieces lying around, you can build those sets without ever having to purchase them! How fun is that?! So, yes, LEGO deserves nothing less than five stars! Thank you this app!

Knolling to save space. This app isn’t 5 but a 99 star app

I love using LEGO along with your webpage that has all of the instructions for sets that were released before the addition of QR codes on the instructions. And I love using LEGO on my phone to build my sets after Knolling all of the pieces on a mat of 18”x16”(I really like to challenge myself)

And I’ll be using LEGO for when I finally get the 2017 UCS Millennium Falcon and the White Star Olympic-Class RMS Titanic(my mom scolds me for building my sets too fast and tells me to take my time and enjoy it.

Mom the enjoyment comes from the accomplishment of completing the build. Not during. So I’ll sit down and spend all day building any this app set that I get.

Great app but needs work..

Love LEGO guys but it needs work bad, for one the old sets don’t have QR code’s on it to scan so can’t add it that way, would be nice to see you guys add all the sets for us. But besides that would be cool to see what they are all worth new or used but not really needed. Just want to see the codes thing change or you guys add the sets for us. But all in all nice to be able to have a list of my sets for sure!! Hope to see the change soon as I am sure I am not the only one thinking that about the codes 👍

Revert Changes add Functionality

With the recent update, the arrows were made bigger and placed in the middle of the screen. LEGO is made for touchscreens, why place BIG arrows on the screen?! Swiping between pages has been the norm for years, arrows are not needed. With the previous version I was able to pinch to zoom to see what was behind the arrows, (or to just be able to see the instructions clearer) with the new update you cannot pinch to zoom at all. Please bring back pinch to zoom. It would be nice to be able bookmarks pages. For example, I’m missing a piece to a set, when the piece arrives, it would be nice to just tap my bookmark to go back to the page to complete the build. Lastly, LEGO needs to function in landscape mode by default. Overall, a great app to have

It’s a good app but needs improvements

LEGO would be so much better if one could download the instruction booklets for offline use. No lagging, no long loading times, no annoying pop up that says “oops no internet” and takes you back to the main page. Also please figure out the issues of saved instructions disappearing. I had to re-save all my booklets because all but a couple instructions disappeared, that was not fun.

However that aside LEGO would be awesome because the idea of having all your booklets in one place is genius. My toddlers ripped and slobbered all over mine. Also since the booklets are all different sizes, storing them was an issue. This online instructions app solves that issue.

Won’t remember my collection.

This used to be a good app. I’ve purchased 60 this app sets this year and each time scan and save each one to my collection. Two days ago I went to scan another and all of a sudden I only have 28 sets. Not sure what happened to the rest. So I figure it’s an issue with my phone. I open LEGO on my iPad which shows 60 sets and I literally watch it revert to 28. So I now figure I have to try and figure out which sets are missing but it will not save any new sets. I can scan one, watch it add and see my collection go to 29, then immediately disappear and go back to 28. Refuses to accept any more sets. this app support is no help either. They insist it’s my device. I would agree but it’s on any device I sign into. So now LEGO is useless for keeping up with my inventory.

Was good, then real bad...

For a while, LEGO was good. Now, the arrows on the corners are SO SMALL that even coming close to them opens the page view... it gets old having to close that bar every time you want to advance the page. Oh, and no swipe...
At first, the arrows were way to big and interfered with the build instructions. Then, for a while, the arrows were a good size and manageable. Now they are WAY to small and not easy to use to navigate the pages. With no swipe, you’re constantly opening and closing the scroll page view to advance the instructions.
Please make the arrows a little larger, give us swipe, and stop with the page view thing!

App Crashes with 3D Instructions Frequently

I’m building the Bookstore and when in the 3D instructions it crashes frequently while trying to view the instructions for the first building. If you scroll the scroll bar at the bottom of this set of instructions for the first building, it always happens within seconds. Going step by step, I can get about 1/3 of the way thru the first building each time, but it always crashes before I get to the second level of the first building. I love LEGO in concept though; I have trouble with the paper instructions due to color blindness, and the backlight on the tablet really helps. (Wish this app would add a color notation next to the blocks needed for each step in the instructions!). I’m using an older IPad Air 2 if that helps.

Barely does the job

I don’t know how LEGO gets so many 5 star reviews, I think the experience is pretty bad. First, it doesn’t seem to stay in memory, if you switch to another app, chances are this one will need to reload, slowly, and then forget where you were. Second, the whole purpose of this is to look at instructions, but this has some bad, non-native PDF viewer (e.g. pinch to zoom zooms from the center of the screen not under your fingers) that just feels wrong on iOS. Third, it really wants you to create an account instead of just using iCloud to sync. Finally, the quality of the instructions just isn’t that good. Sometimes it is nearly impossible to discern the color of pieces.

Great, No Keyboard to LogIn

Been enjoying this with my daughter, she got a lot of this app sets for Christmas and it’s a fun way to build and have her help. She loves being able to see the pieces in 3D and spinning the parts around. I love getting to look at other sets I would love to have but don’t have the spare cash for (Porsche, Lamborghini, Titanic, etc…)

Trouble comes in when I try to log into my account to save the set instructions, and the keyboard isn’t showing up to type. Tried it on 2 different iPads and no luck. Not a deal breaker, but kinda kills the awesome jam I get into looking at sets.

Great work overall.

Needs to be updated more frequently

Great app when it comes to building instructions and being able to catalog all recent sets from the past few years, however LEGO could stand to be updated on a more frequent basis to include recent sets. For instance, the latest Ghostbusters Ecto-1 vehicle hasn’t been uploaded to LEGO when it’s been out for a couple months now. However sets like the new this app Technic Ferrari which released on the 1st of the year have been added. Questionable?

Wish ALL legos were loaded

I love LEGO and it works very smoothly and it’s simple. My only complaint would be that not all sets are loaded. You can’t find old sets and I even try to look find small sets of the Friends collection, Dots or ornaments and they aren’t available. It you don’t want to keep everything assembled, you better save all of the directions otherwise I will never be able to put them back together.
I really love that I found a 3 in 1 Dino set that had two additional figures you could make on LEGO . Very cool and fun.

Profile Updates

I’m not sure if this is just on my phone, but the characters that I have to choose from on my created account are very limited choices. It would be great if you could add more profile related things to LEGO , so me and others could get creative and be able to furthermore personalize our account. Other than that I think the rest of LEGO is amazing and I enjoying using it everytime I purchase a new this app set. Please consider my request of adding more personalization options to the profile and account. Thanks!

Amazing app! But one request!

LEGO is amazing and so helpful when the kids lose or damage the books. I have but one request. Can you please add a feature to allow us to add old sets to our list? I have all the pieces to Fort Logoredo (6769) but not the instruction booklet. I was so excited to find it in LEGO but sad that I cannot add it to my list for easy reference. I have many other complete old sets that I would like to rebuild but I would love to be able to add them to my list first making it easy to locate the build instructions.

Ignoreo other reviews

I don’t know if the other reviewers were using a different version of LEGO or they just didn’t use LEGO right. There are 2 different modes, and obviously the other reviewers were using the PDF mode. The “guide” mode is perfect and is as it should be; exactly like the in-game instructions in this app Dimensions. LEGO is a perfect build companion for the this app kits. I probably won’t even use the hardcopy version. After all, with LEGO , there’s no problem with the pages being flat :).

By

Poorly Designed

The purpose of LEGO is to provide a digital alternative to the instruction book... All it does is display a PDF of those instructions and the viewer that display the PDF is truly poor. It has a big button on it that returns you to the start of the instructions. To get to the next page of the instructions you have to drag your finger, instead of a simple tap or something to advance to the next screen. this app, please put some effort into LEGO. It should be as simple to use as the printed instructions and easily move from page to page and resume where you left off.

Good but...

It is a good app but one time I was looking for a this app set and I typed in the name but it wouldn’t pop up. I was upset because I was exited about LEGO and I couldn’t use it. Now it kicks me out of LEGO while I’m building I can get back in and resume but it kicks me out again.

Good, but missing several

There are several sets not included in the database. Some are small sets sold exclusively at one store, but I have several that were boxed sets.
I cannot find contact information to submit these for inclusion.

By

Disappointing

this app’s sets are really amazing and of high quality. But I can’t believe LEGO is barely useable and looks like some student’s course project work. For a 400 page pdf, you will need to scroll down page by page. No navigation button. Seriously put some time to improve LEGO !

By

iPhone is too small

Really this should be an appletv app! And really, it needs simple next-step, previous-step controls.

Finite number of sets

I have more than 400 sets in this app Life App and when I logged my account in LEGO I can’t see all my sets. In Life App the scrolling down is infinite

To help those looking for the 3D instructions

One of the things that drew me to LEGO was the possibility of the 3D instructions. I’m sure that I’m not the only one that finds it difficult at times with the photo one where exactly to place some bricks and I figured this would help. I was disappointed to find out it was only available on a very few sets (very few). You would think they have been using the same cad design software for years so they could have transferred more but that is a side note. I was further perplexed when for the life of me I could not find a set that did have the 3D instructions. Then finally I found one. If the set you have in the front page shows a “get started” button below the general description then that is a 3D instruction. Push the button and it will take you there.

Here is my suggestion for this app. First define which sets have 3D instructions. My suggestion would be place a ribbon on the corner of the model pics that have 3D on it. This way it’s easy to see which ones are 3D and which ones are not. Second would be to place a button labeled 3D next to pdf. If the set has 3D instructions it’s able to be pushed if not then it’s grayed out and can’t be pushed. If you can push it have a banner come up that says 3D instructions not available.

Lastly use a different pdf reader than this one. The one you use in this app life works better than this one. A few buttons on it would be nice. Back, forward, go to [page] would be nice.

P.S. if you found these tips useful just imagine the help I could be if you employed me. Reply with a contact at anytime.

No rotation

You can’t rotate LEGO by turn the device. On the iPad or I iPhone.

By

Mostly PDFs, PDF reader stinks

Most sets only have PDF instructions, with a rather slow and buggy PDF reader. LEGO would be much more useful if more sets supported instructions+. It would also be great if we could easily add sets we already have either by looking at our past this app.com purchases, or by taking a photo of the model assembled so I can keep a digital record of my instructions books.

Instructions Crashing

We got to the main part of set 41374 and LEGO crashed several times. Good thing the sets still include the instruction booklets.
