Can and will rate 5/5!

Hello! I am a very good this app builder. I have built probably over 500 (if not more), and I also love Mario. I play the video games for him a lot, including super Mario odyssey. So, when I first heard about it on a commercial, I was so excited and I asked my mom if we could get it. Well, the day I got it was Christmas, a gift from Santa. I set part of my day to just building that, and let me tell you; IT. WAS. BREATHTAKING. I got LEGO for it (and got it for my phone too) and the instructions were so clear. Exactly like the instructions on paper, with 3D photos, but on a screen. So I got Mario is batteries and set him up. I felt amazed on what he could do! Recognize colors, do sound effects, and everything else in between! So, I was so excited about that, I got more expansion sets. Same quality, beautiful way of scanning, and interactive. I saw more, like challenges and videos. And, I update very often, like it is automatic. Literally. Then, a couple months later, their is a this app LUIGI!!! I was surprised and my emotions were all over the place. My mom preordered it, and I got it August 2nd or something like that. I got even more sets for Christmas, more expansion sets. I hope you guys keep up whatever you are doing, because I love this, and everyone around the world will. And make sure you keep us up to date! (And if you can, even make us a this app Princess Peach for us the save. Lol.)

Update caused mario to not work properly

I opened LEGO on a few weeks ago but when it said mario needed an update, mario didn’t reconnect and now he is stuck in this Bluetooth phase. Now when I turn on mario he doesn’t say “this app mario time!” And the light at the bottom flashes for a second but doesn’t stay on. Also mario always has the flashing Bluetooth logo on his chest when I turn him on. I tried holding both buttons on him for ten seconds, didn’t work. I tried resetting my Bluetooth in my app settings for 5 seconds, didn’t work. I tried deleting and reinstalling LEGO , didn’t work. I tried restarting my phone, closing other apps, taking mario’s batteries out, logging in and out of my this app account, nothing works. Even changing power up packs. Nothing works. Also when i try to update mario again, he crashes and the update doesn’t finish. And when i try to connect mario to LEGO , he connects without even touching anything and mario’s screen doesn’t change. I dont want to have to buy a new one because im broke, is there anything else i could do?

Fun App with Update Problems

This is a great app that is required in order to build most this app Mario sets (that don’t include paper instructions). The instructions work well, and it’s great to see the collection in one place.

Unfortunately, the recent updates have made LEGO quite a bit worse. It used to have a great screen that would pop up with small dioramas of all your collected sets together. My son and I both loved seeing them pop up when scanned, and the new mechanic to show example levels with your sets is slow and seems to only make pretty uninspired, straight level designs. I’d love to see the old collection screen come back.

Finally, the new updates have also introduced some pretty significant bugs and problems with LEGO . We are no longer able to get Mario to connect via Bluetooth (even after turning off/on Bluetooth). Our new Luigi has never been able to connect. It also introduced frequent visual bugs in the instructions such as slightly distorted or sometimes even completely invisible this app pieces. I hope that they’re able to work out all these bugs soon, because we love the sets.

Can’t even try it to review it

We purchased sets for our children and LEGO closes as soon as we tap “start. Sometimes we get a faint preview of the map area before it closes, but that’s the farthest we can get.
Yes, we have deleted and downloaded LEGO again (three times.) We have force closed it. We have tried connecting by the internet (two different connections) as well as cellular service. We have created a login hoping that would help us advance. And we have had the same issue on four fairly new, up-to-date Apple devices, all of which are fully compatible according to the device guidelines.
Thankful for the pdf instructions to build pieces, but we liked the idea of the connectivity of the map and it feels like a waste to purchase something you can’t use fully. Perhaps offering a website ability for the gameplay so that it can be played via a browser would be helpful?
We’ll try again tomorrow like we have every day this week.

Used to work Great!

LEGO used to be fully functional on my iPad Air 2. We could see my sons digital collection and everything ran smoothly. Now after a few updates, it’s super LAGGY & Glitchy and we can no longer see my sons digital collection. Like NONE OF IT. Why can’t things just WORK? It’s crazy how they don’t keep up with older systems. I have a feeling that most of us will get left behind in a push by the establishment to keep us buying new technology every year. I for one am tired of this! I would like to continue to use what I have but it seems that as they upgrade it’s only made to fix problems for people with newer products. It’s rather frustrating! How hard can it possibly be to allow the older systems to be functional? An iPad Air 2 should still be allowed to be used and function properly. We are using 14.4.2 version. If this can be resolved for people like us that don’t toss out their technology every year that would be great! Otherwise it would be nice to just get the paper build instructions for mario this app sets if they can’t resolve issues for everyone across all platforms.

The App Is Great But Theres Several New Bugs

LEGO Is Really Good!!! I Like It The Previous Updates Were Bugless, But Now I Can’t Access All My Pictures! And I Cant Exit My Pictures And I’ll Have To Leave The Game.. Pls Fix These… NOW. And It Will Be Better Edit For Newer Update: This New Update Is Fine There’s No More Bigs But I Can’t Put A Caption On My pictures And My Sets Look Like They’re All Gone! (Actaully I can put a caption on there so it’s ok) And Also As You May Have Noticed By My Moms Emails To this app, One Of My Mario’s Are Frozen into The Downlaoding Thing. I’ve Tried Every Single Thing But It Did Not Work. Luckily Thanks To My Aunt, A few months before that happened she got me a this app Mario set on Valentine’s Day. And I can still play this app Mario. Overall sometimes I might have to connect my Valentine’s Day mario to my ipad but I don’t wanna do that cuase im afraid that it might end up like my Christmas Mario (the first one) but yeah good app still (edit) TODAYS MY BIRTHDAY PARTY AND I GOT BOWSERS AIRSHIP 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Well, Batteries wont do the trick..

I gotten my first this app mario set 2 or 1 year ago, It was cool and i used LEGO to build it, My first experience was amazing! And it never left my mind. (Well.. Maybe it did?)

My this app Mario works perfectly fine, But LEGO keeps on resetting myself before I could touch one of the buttons, So I used a different device and it worked! But when I went to go activate it, it wouldn’t work! I think it said I needed to recharge the batteries.

And this is present day, The day I posted this.

I wake up and look at my this app Mario Set, Thats when it hit me. “Should I get a new this app set?”, So I went and gotten 2 this app sets from target

The first one had instructions on its own, but the second I needed LEGO , So I went to use LEGO but it shutdown on me.. 6 times! (the 4th turned my device off i think..), Once I finally make it through, i try connecting my this app mario again, It makes it through without any errors! But it said I needed batteries which was odd.. I had just put batteries in.

I try another but it wouldn’t work so now I’m just waiting a bit while writing this review.

Overall this is a great app and I suggest it if you dont want to try and fix it by yourself, I also like the challenges you announce! You developers stay safe out there!

The bugs in the new app are not budging. LEGO please read this

Hey! Remember me? The person who says my this app Mario is busted? Well that this app Mario is history now. I just bought a new this app Mario and I went into the new app. And I noticed something really weird. When I connect Mario to Bluetooth, Mario looks down and the four dots that show that Bluetooth has connected to Mario, only three dots are filled. Then Mario freezes. His eyes freeze, the light at the bottom goes off, and the three filled dots freeze with only one dot yet to fill, and Mario is not connected although it makes the sound effect you hear to let you know that Mario is connected. I need a break. A broken this app Mario, now this. And if you ask, yes. I did try the pressing the Power and Bluetooth buttons and hold them for 10 sec method. And I also tried the Take off Mario’s torso method. And I couldn’t do a factory reset since Mario won’t connect to LEGO . Please send instructions.

PLEASE Bring Back the Old Set View

My son used to LOVE browsing through the little world created by all the sets we’ve collected. He’d literally just sit there looking at them and enjoying them all.

Can you please, please bring that feature back?

The new thing that makes a random path is also nice, but it’s not the same for him. It’s also very buggy, it seems like it can take up to several minutes for it to refresh (why??). So he does enjoy it, but it’s kind of frustrating since he really likes refreshing it to see what he gets.

LEGO is a very fun way to build and explore your sets, but I don’t understand why you had to remove such a basic feature as seeing all the sets laid out in the world. Having a visual representation of the collection was super great.. and a nice motivator to keep buying sets, seems like it’d be in your best interest to bring it back!

And I do know you can see the sets you’ve collected in the instructions views, but it’s not the same. He enjoyed seeing them displayed in the world… was it perhaps too onerous to continue making those dioramas as new sets come out? It seems like it shouldn’t be *too* much effort above whatever is required to make the path-builder work.

Thank you for reading!

Amazing products but has some problems with the app

I love this I have a lot of sets and just got this app Luigi it’s amazing but LEGO the building is so easy but when I scan my sets it doesn’t show so it only thinks I have super this app Mario and super this app Luigi. Also there is a little problem hooking them up more than half on the time when I’m trying to connect them I have to shut my phone all the way off and then back on and half of the time it still doesn't work.

From the positive point of view amazing but they should add character like donkey Kong or the princess and more of Mario’s friends. Also you could add a Luigi Polly buster as an attachment since Mario has all of these power ups

If the developers could fix it this would be awesome and would give this a 10/10 since I already spend hours playing these thank you

App Crashes - Does Not Work

Leaving a 1 Star review as a placeholder.

I want to say 1st and foremost that we love this app products. My son and I love building sets together. But.... the new Mario Starter Kit App is not working. Very disappointing for an 8 year old who just got 3 of the sets for Christmas and cannot build them or sync to LEGO . There were a lot of tears tonight between getting LEGO downloaded and having it crash every time you connect Mario then click start. On top of that the Starter kit was missing a lot of parts and the set is sold out mostly everywhere. Trying to get parts shipped from this app also takes weeks so that won’t be an option.

I figured out the only workaround to get LEGO not to crash is to turn off WiFi and Cellular Data. You have to put it in Airplane mode and then it won’t crash. It will tell you that you are not connected to the internet when you use this workaround. This is how we got the building instructions and realized the set was missing a lot of pieces. I have no apps running in the background and also have deleted and reinstalled LEGO multiple times. I work in IT so I know the ins and outs of these devices and IoT.

Hopefully this app developers are reading these posts so they can fix LEGO . It is not only on an iPad but iPhone also ( I have a new iPad and use an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 14.3). Once app is fixed, I will update my review.

Mario keeps crashing

First of all, I really strongly enjoy the this app mario sets, and I love building these sets and playing them out. However, as of the most recent update, I can’t get mario to connect to my tablet nor my phone. Any time I attempt to connect, after pressing the blutooth button on mario, he makes a noise and his screen shows the 4 dots like normal, but then all of a sudden, he freezes. Mario’s screen won’t change, he won’t make noise, and he can’t even be turned off with the power button. The only rhing I can do is remove the batteries to reset him, and I can bo longer connect him to my Ipad. The same issue happens when I try to connect bim to my phone. Before I updated mario this morning, He connected just fine, but afterward, he continues to crash every time. I would appreciate if you could fix this bug please. Otherwise, this is a great app, othee than this detrimental glitch.

I am not able to get in to the app.

When I go to use the this app Mario app it will show a loading icon and then as it is supposed to it shows me the start button, here is where the problem happens, It gives me a black screen and then kicks me out. I have tried closing LEGO and getting back on along with deleting LEGO , restarting, and then downloading it, and then just restarting and getting back on but nothing will work. That is really the only problem besides me rarely not being able to access instructions (which I have fixed so do not worry). I would love to tell you I like it but I can not get in. The problem has been fixed, Thank You so much!

The app needs to be fixed ASAP (Don’t give a answer bot response)

It seems I’m not the only one who is having problems with this app Mario. this app Mario will not update. When I try it says an error occurred. When I turn it on all it shows is the connect Bluetooth screen and Mario is looking at it gritting his teeth. Like he’s gonna kill someone. He doesn’t say this app Mario time for some reason and when I turned it off it turns off without saying see you later. It’s quite terrifying. I don’t like that the sets don’t appear anymore when you scan them. Nothing works. No goomba stomping no yoshi talking no bowser clomping no nothing. The connect this app Mario screen is quite buggy as well. I have only had one other time that an app was this buggy. It needs to be fixed. The only reason that it’s not one star is because it’s a huge glitch and LEGO itself is great. Plx fix

Update gave Mario a bug

LEGO it’s self is cool. My son like the building instruction and the map of his personal sets. There was an update that needed done and started automatically but after it loaded we are not able to connect our Mario to LEGO . We did EVERYTHING we could to restart or fix it. Nothing worked so we bought a new starter kit with a new Mario and tried setting it up. LEGO said the Mario needed an update (just like the first one) and did it automatically. AGAIN after the update our Mario still will not connect to LEGO to load the new sets or suites. My only conclusion is there is a bug in LEGO or upload that needs fixed. I’ve spent a lot of money and repurchased Mario’s and had the same issue, so it’s not the Mario. Please fix this so our Mario will work with LEGO again.

Great toys, app needs attention

My son and I have built almost every this app super Mario set. Literally. These toys are absolutely wonderful. Every time we get a new set the old ones come back out and provide hours of great, fun, imaginative play.

My son really loves that the instructions are on LEGO . When new sets are released he goes through the instructions over and over so that, by the time his birthday rolls around and he gets a new set, he is already quite familiar with the build.

The problem is that it is often really hard to connect Mario and Luigi to the phone. I have an iPhone XR, and it has no problem connecting to Bluetooth devices routinely. But, especially when it is time to update the firmware on Mario and Luigi, they won’t connect to LEGO , or, they’ll connect but they won’t complete their updates. My son actually hates to “scan” in a new set because connecting Mario or Luigi is so often a cause for significant delays. I hoped that this app would have sorted this out by now, but it seems not to be so.

I suppose they will keep getting my money, and the money of my friends and family, because these toys are awesome. But I hope they fix the issues with the connection soon!

Frustrated dad

My LEGO Mario STILL ISN’T WORKING!

I know other people have been experiencing this exact same problem of the Mario getting frozen or Bluetooth not working or something like that. I’ve tried everything to get my this app Mario to stop freezing up, but nothing works. Even LEGO update doesn’t help. When I cut the Mario on, he starts with his usual:” this app Mario Time!” But when I try to connect it to Bluetooth (which is enabled for LEGO , by the way.) to play a play challenge or build a set, it tells me this app Mario is connected, but then his screen freezes up on the four complete loading dots and then says it’s disconnected. I don’t know if the update isn’t working, if it’s just a simple bug, or I just flat out broke my this app Mario. I would love to hear your feedback on this and I guarantee many other people would too.

Good app but...

We all love Mario and we all love this app but LEGO needs some work. problem one: online content. it’s not that I think anything’s inappropriate but it’s so annoying that you have to sign in to this app instead of just using it with your Nintendo account more people have Nintendo accounts then they do this app accounts I mean this is Mario right not the this app movie 2 movie maker. Problem two: not enough battery space. When we got this Mario set in the mail today and no this is not a review from aug 1st as soon as we turned the mario on he worked but when we downloaded LEGO the toy was already at 98% we do not want to have to give him new batteries every day. But other than that it awesome 😎 app 99% would recommend. -Arthur

My kids ❤️ Mario

I think this is one of the easiest apps to navigate. The instructions are step by step and show you exactly which pieces you need and where they go I find it much easier than flipping through a book. My 4 year old loves putting the sets together and they are so easy for him to follow and if he gets a little confused where they go you can move the pic around to see exactly where it goes. And if something breaks all you have to do is go on your phone not try to find the instructions. I do wish they would come out with some more interactive games or something like that on LEGO , I feel like younger kids would really love this.

By

The app is amazing but,

If you get LEGO and don’t have any this app Mario sets LEGO is useless because the reason LEGO exists is to connect this app Mario to LEGO and post a picture of your sets and like I said if you don’t have any this app Mario sets LEGO is completely useless I love LEGO though and I’m letting you know that if you don’t have any this app Mario sets don’t get it!

By

Amazing! It’s only crashed 2 times!

Great app (you have to have the starter course to use sets.) only crashed 2 times and I’m on a old iPad so instead I downloaded it on my new iPad and on the new one it hasn’t crashed once!

By

This is a good way to build your sets

I love how you can build the sets on this and share your creativity with people and do weekly challenges LEGO is amazing and this app Mario is awesome recommend this to every body

By

Can’t wait to get my Mario

I pre ordered the starter set and downloaded LEGO so my Mario is being delivered just look at the pictures of others

By

Good but Glitchy

Overall LEGO is pretty cool even if you don’t have any of the sets however it will sometimes crash if you try to look at instructions you already completed. By Nathan Spies

By

With out Mario this is pointless

I played Mario games for a very long time and when they announced that this app Mario was coming out I was so exited!! Then I buyed a character pack then when I finished the instructions then I realized that I needed Mario and If I buyed the starter pack I will be completely out of money! Then I have to wait months until I get the starter kit this is horrible

By

Great for fans of LEGO or Mario!

With or without this app Mario, LEGO is still fun! With remixes of classic Mario music, it’s great for headphone users. Or that you don’t need this app Mario to get access to the 3D instructions or to see what the community has built.

By

Read please

So look it’s been good to get use you need it to build this app sets of Mario an every day it give you a challenge cool so I got the starter set so whit this app Mario it so fun.

I have an old iPhone 5s n am trying to access the LEGO app which just upgraded to iOS 13. The 5s isn’t captured in ios 13 usability. Is there anyway of still accessing ios 12.5 and accessing the app, or has that gate shut?

Hi, have a temporary fix when app crash on startup (black window freeze) by using flight mode. I suggest also to try it if you have problems with other crash problems. Mine is mostly stable with this. I do the following: 1) startup the pad/phone, then turn on flight mode. your wifi connection should turn off by this. now start the wifi again (you need it to log into account). 2) start the app and log in to lego mario account once inside the first startscreen inside the app, DO NOT push the start button on screen. 3) once logged in to lego mario account it is important that you turn off the wifi on your pad/phone again. If not, the app will most likely crash again, no idea why. 4) push start button. Most times you will now log in to the app. Connect lego mario via bluetooth. you should now be able to play/build. If the app crash when building or playing you might have to force close the app and start over. If lego mario dont connect via bluetooth I force close the app( select properties on your pad/phone, find apps, chose lego mario, if possible select force app to close), turn off lego mario, restart pad, and do the points above with the log in, lego mario will now connect most of the times. Hope this helps, sorry for english

The Lego Super Mario App keeps crashing on all our devices. We have not even been able to start to use it.

Harmony   3 years ago

My son just got the starter kit, Thwomp kit, and Bowser kit this Christmas. He’s worked on it everyday but today the app crashed and will not open despite the hours I’ve spent trying to troubleshoot it. He finished the starter kit and Thwomp and got to bag 3 of Bowser before it crashed.

What a wonderful gift for our son, garbage. App crashes constantly with iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. We can’t even build it because there are no instructions besides what’s on the app. We get as far as linking Mario with Bluetooth and than it crashes. Regretting this purchase.
