Healthy Paws defrauds subscribers. They say they cover things but deny claims outright and make up reasons to increase your premium as soon as you file a claim despite having the same records since enrollment. I have had 2 pets insured for over 2 years. When I signed up I submitted all necessary vet records and never had any claims. Now that my pet is sick they have not only denied the claims they should be paying out but have found reasons to increase the premiums by over 50% on both pets. The reason they said for denying the claims is that I didn't submit vet records from years and years prior to when the policy began...when I didn't even have the cat. They increased the premiums citing a dog breed discriepancy (dog is adopted so who knows what breed it is) and pet age doscrepancy (again, cat is adopted so who knows what the cat's age is). I was talking to my sister about this fraudulent company and she said the same exact thing happened to her: they subscribed for a long time and then as soon as they needed it, healthy paws said they didn't have the records required to approve the claim. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and encourage everyone they have defrauded to do the same exact thing. Horrible horrible horrible! If I could give it a negative 5 stars, I would.

When we rescued our pup in April 2020, the Healthy Paws brochure was in her adoption folder. We had heard way too many horror stories from friends and families in regards to pet emergencies and bills so we figure for $50 a month it was worth the piece of mind and I have been happy we did that ever since. She has had skin issues her whole life and we take her to get monthly cytopoint injections which are always covered after we hit that deductible. Recently we had to rush our dog to the hospital and she was diagnosed with PLE which required a lot of tests and 2 nights in the hospital and a bill of $8700. We were nervous about the bill being covered and it was so reassuring when the vet at the hospital said they have seen no issues with Healthy Paws and they deal with them a lot. I submitted the claim and within days 90% was reimbursed to us. HealthyPawsApp is super easy to use and claims are a breeze to submit. The turnaround time is super fast and the direct deposit is seamless. Seriously it’s the easiest process. I am so happy we had decided to enroll in this policy right from the start otherwise we would have been left paying a huge bill out of pocket and now a preexisting condition. I cannot recommend Healthy Paws enough.

I cannot say enough good things about Healthy Paws. Any time I’ve taken my pup to the vet and need to submit a claim the process is SO easy!
Most recently my pup had to have abdominal surgery and that was a scary thing to go through. Knowing that I didn’t have to worry too much about the cost was a blessing and gave me peace of mind to make decisions without having to necessarily taking into consideration the cost. After the surgery, I received an email asking how Elvis was doing and to keep them in the loop on his recovery which i felt was very thoughtful.
One recommendation to streamline the process for anything major (and minor) is to ask the clinic for the medical records so you can attach them to the claim right away. If you don’t chances are you will be asked to provide them. This way you’ll cut a few days off the time line of getting reimbursed.

We’ve had Healthy Paws Insurance for our dog for nine years, and never had to use it. Insurance, of course, is something you kind of hope you never need, but then you also wonder “was it worth it, paying into this all this time?”. Then, our dog had a series of scares and close calls, and we learned all at once how incredible it is to have the peace of mind that comes from coverage as we navigated different treatment plans with different costs. It was so powerful to be able to say yes to the best approach without having to hesitate about funds.

HealthyPawsApp itself is incredibly easy to use, and the Healthy Paws team has been incredible. Really fast turnaround on claims, terrific assistance with securing documents from multiple veterinary providers, all around excellent.

I only wish human insurance was as efficient, friendly, and easy to navigate!

HealthyPawsApp allows you to upload a photo of your paid invoice with no other paperwork involved. If I could give a 10 star rating out of 5, I would. This is my second rescue that I have entrusted healthy paws with. My previous rescue was a sharpi lab who was abused. Needless to say… they ensured Bear was able to live out his last three years with the best possible care.
I now have Luna Belle, a 14 month red heeler… who I actually second guessed my decision if I needed the coverage. Thank god I kept the peace of mind because this week… three months after adopting, she became sick with pneumonia and bronchitis suddenly. She was misdiagnosed and had I not been able to pursue the best medical care, I may have lost her. The peace of mind knowing the policy is there when the estimate comes, allows you to not hesitate with the care of your animals. The process for getting the claims submitted and reimbursed is hassle free. And the customer support is great. I will always recommend and stand behind Healthy Paws. They truly have a great understanding and compassion for medical crisis that arise!

I don’t know what I would do without my Healthy Paws insurance. I do know that I will never have a pet without it!

I have an 11 year and 8 year pair of sweet pups that I have been fortunate enough not to have to face too many medical emergencies with until this year when my 11 year old fell down some stairs and damaged both his knees resulting in two knee surgeries six months apart with a heart murmur thrown in for good measure.

Thankfully I didn't have to hesitate at the cost of care because I had my Healthy Paws policy in place. The only factors I had to consider were what the right course of action was for my pup, and what made him most comfortable and happy in this chapter of his life.

Healthy Paws also gives you peace of mind in making the claims submission process so easy, as soon as my vet emails the invoice, I just save it to my files and in a few clicks on my phone I have created a new claim, attached the invoice and off it goes. It rarely has taken more than two days for a claim to be processed and the cash is in my account two more days after that. No haggling, chasing down the money, no added stress. I literally tell every pet owner I know about Healthy Paws.

I wouldn't drive a car without insurance, I would have a home without insurance, and I wouldn't go without insurance so it only makes sense that our furry family members should have insurance too!

I joke and say that pet insurance is the best money I've ever spent on anything, but the truth is it's not a joke. Getting Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been one of the best decisions I've made when it comes to the care of my dogs. With a multi-dog household Healthy Paws has allowed our family the peace of mind knowing that if and when, our dogs need medical care we can give it to them.

I believe that Heathy Paws is one of the best insurances on the market, especially for a multi-dog household. We get incredible coverage at a reasonable cost and I love their easy to use app for submitting claims. They are always fast to review and process claims and I even get the occasional email from them checking in on our dogs to see how they are doing.

I cannot recommend Healthy Paws Pet insurance highly enough. We have had our pugs covered by them since 2019 and have been nothing short of 100% satisfied ever since.

Healthy Paws has a great app — couldn’t be easier to submit a claim. I snap a pic of the invoice from the car before I even leave the vet. In no time, I get an email telling me they’re reviewing it, and they quickly have a benefits statement ready after that. I know this is supposed to be an app review, but I have to add a review of the service itself: it’s the best! I have always gotten great service, and they have even followed up to ask me how my pet is doing after an illness. No pet parent wants to weigh the health decision against the $$$ impact, but without Healthy Paws, I would have to factor that in. I wish people insurance trusted the consumer and medical professional’s decisions that way Healthy Paws does - never questioning if something was “necessary,” nor requiring their okay before an expense is incurred. I get to decide with my vet what my pet needs and they cover what my insurance contract says it will cover.

We got insurance for our kitten for the first time when we got her two years ago (free kitten found as a stray), a added a policy when we got our second one this summer. Healthy paws has been such a great company to work with. Our free little kitten later developed asthma and HP has been so fantastic. They have not fought covering anything, and have always paid claims super fast. Most recently, my baby girl ended up needing emergency surgery due to a string (aka linear foreign body). I was a little worried that Healthy Paws would give us issues (this happened less than 10 days into the policy year, the emergency hospital repeated tests that my regular vet did that day) but they were great! The explanations of payment are clear, and I’ve even gotten a few messages checking on her! I have recommended insurance in general and now Healthy Paws in particular many times now!! We rescued our lab mix pup when he was 2.5 years and immediately signed up for healthy paws. 6 years later, the peace of mind has been unmatchable! Our pup has had to have multiple surgeries (including two knee surgeries in the last 7 months) and Healthy Paws has been amazing with it all. I’ve never once had to pause after receiving a steep estimate or skip an exploratory xray because I know I will only have to cover 10%. Physical therapy is also covered, which has been sooo helpful after surgery. Submitting claims is quick and easy, and I’ve never had a payment take longer than a week, usually 2-3 days. The few times I’ve had a claim not Immediately paid, it was cleared up quickly. They sent an email checking in after surgery as well. And for those that hate talking on the phone, basically everything can be handled through HealthyPawsApp /website. I will tell anyone who listens to sign up for pet insurance, and Healthy Paws is the best!

I have been a Healthy Paws customer for going on 5 years now, and currently have 4 pets (2 dogs and 2 cats) insured with them. My prior dog was insured with Healthy Paws as well. Fortunately, I have only needed to make claims for two of my dogs, and the claims process and coverage has gone smoothly every time. HealthyPawsApp is very user-friendly and makes submitting claims quick and easy. My most recent claim was approved for reimbursement in less than 24 hours on a Friday, and I had the funds back in my bank account the next business day (Monday). Healthy Paws has covered everything they said they would, and at a fraction of the cost of some of their most well-known competitors. My premiums have only increased marginally over time, at a rate reasonable for the changes in average veterinary costs. Plus, my dog’s recent surgery requires physical therapy post op - something that is automatically covered under Healthy Paws’ policy but that a lot of other companies charge extra to cover. I work in the veterinary industry myself, at a hospital that frequently recommends and deals directly with another insurance company, and I STRONGLY prefer Healthy Paws - I cannot sing their praises enough.

I think of insurance as something to have that you hope you never have to use. After years of a healthy, happy dog (and paying our premiums), we have had a tough year with diabetes diagnosis followed by rapidly developing cataracts. Healthy Paws has made reimbursement simple (literally upload the invoice and I get a direct deposit within a couple days…) and coverage that has been very fair. Knowing upfront that exam costs aren’t covered but tests, treatments and procedures are, we have had a fantastic experience and have been relieved to not have to make difficult situation more challenging by weighing financial impact. We’ve been able to make the best choice for our pup, who just got back his eye sight. Healthy Paws even emailed us to check in on him!!! We’ve had a seamless experience and have been continually impressed with the customer service and speed.

I can’t believe I’m writing a POSITIVE review of insurance! But they’ve been truly great!

You always hope that you never have to use your health insurance, pet insurance especially. If something happens to your pet, if they become injured or ill or something worse happens and the bills start to rack up, it becomes really too much. Healthy Paws was the most reasonable price wise to begin with so when we brought home our Maine Coon kitten in February 2021, that’s who we decided to go with. Sadly, recently, our cat had been experiencing some signs of illness that didn’t seem right. After several trips to the vet, costly medications, X-rays, a CT scan and eventually a double hip surgery. With several thousands of dollars in charges being spent, we would not have had the financial means otherwise had we not had Healthy Paws. Thankfully we are on the recovery side now and hope to remain there. And we’re so grateful. I tell so many people, if you don’t have pet insurance, get it, if you’ve had a bad experience with a pet insurance company before, then check out Healthy Paws.

My cat Trixie was diagnosed with stomatitis. If I did extensive bloodwork to make sure that there was nothing else going on and that it was in fact stomatitis. I still hoped that it was something else and tried giving her supplements to boost her immune system. However, when I saw Trixie drooling when eating, I knew she was in pain. I had to agree to have my year and a half old cats teeth pulled in order to make her feel better.I am riddled with guilt first for not doing it sooner and second that I had to agree at all to have all of her teeth pulled. When I submitted the claim to Healthy Paws, I didn’t know whether anything would be covered because stomatitis has to do with her teeth. However, because of the medical diagnosis of stomatitis, Healthy Paws not only helped with the bill, but turn the claim around within three days. While I still feel awful about my cat having this horrible disease, I know I will be able to continue to care for her in the best way with the help of Healthy Paws.

I spent a lot of time researching and reading reviews of so many pet insurance companies, most of which I ended up skipping over quickly due to poor coverage. We landed on Healthy Paws because of the amazing coverage, including some issues or concerns that other companies refused to cover, and the very reasonable cost! Since signing up with Healthy Paws we have gone through multiple surgeries, testings, and medications and Healthy Paws has been amazing! Submitting a claim is super simple, we are reimbursed very quickly and efficiently, if you have any questions regarding what wasn’t covered they are easy to get a hold of and will review your claim for you! I can not stress enough how big of a life save pet insurance has been for us and we are so happy to have Healthy Laws on our side! They even take the time to reach out to check up on our pup after submitting claims for surgery.

What a relief and support healthy paws has been for us. It’s ineffable how attached you get to your pet. Our Otis was diagnosed with blast cell cancer at 3.5 years old. We took him to Animal Cancer Care Clinic, who were absolutely amazing. After 6 months of treatment, he was cancer free and has been.
However, after that they could not figure out why one of his liver enzyme levels was high and not mitigating after time. We were referred to the internist at Animal Speciality and Emergency Hospital on Schenck Ave. There after a bile acid test we were told to do a CT scan because the values were very very high directly after eating. The CT scan revealed he was born with a liver shunt. We were consulted about the surgery, its risks and otherwise. I can’t say enough about my experience at this clinic either- the internal medicine DVM, the surgeon, the competent team. Beautiful and extremely dedicated people, same as ACCC.

I insure both of my cats with Healthy Paws and they have quite literally been life savers. Most recently one of my cats was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after I took him in for weight loss and excessive vomiting. He didn’t tolerate the medication and so I-131 treatment was necessary. It was just under $3k for the treatment and a 10 day hospital stay, but it cost me under $300 thanks to my 90% reimbursement policy.

Every claim I have filed has been paid within a couple of days of submitting them - without hassle. It is very comforting to know I do not have to go through all the pushback so often talked about by people filing claims with other insurers - if my cat needs medical treatment he gets it, because I know (from extensive experience) that Healthy Paws will do their part. This is one of the only companies in general that I actively recommend, because they’ve been stellar - which is even more impressive when you consider they’re in an industry that doesn’t have a great reputation.

Also, HealthyPawsApp is nice as it makes filing a claim very easy to do. I filed the claim for the I-131 treatment in the parking lot after dropping him off - couldn’t be easier!

No matter the age or health of your pet, I can’t recommend Healthy Paws more strongly. Filing claims is easy and straightforward, reimbursement is always quick and consistent with my expectations based on my policy, and their customer service is incredibly easy to access and always helpful.

I had a plan for my pit bull mix and used it throughout her life for big and small claims, including a cruciate ligament repair, various surgeries for injuries, illnesses, and eventually radiation and regular therapies for osteosarcoma. Although there were times when my dog was young and healthy that the policy seemed like an unnecessary expense I was always quickly reminded of the value of having my beloved pet covered when even the smallest unexpected issues arose. Healthy Paws took financial constraints out of difficult decisions over the entire course of her life. I was always able to make decisions based on the best and most appropriate veterinary treatment available, rather than being restricted by my financial means at the time (which varied considerably over the decade I had my dog). I highly recommend insuring your pet’s health with Healthy Paws.

It has given us such peace of mind knowing we have HP Insurance in the event of an emergency, and we were extra thankful when we went to an emergency vet that ended in emergency surgery for our guy. HealthyPawsApp is incredibly easy and user-friendly; I uploaded our receipt to a new claim using a photo on my phone and was able to easily email additional medical records for healthy paws to verify. We received quick updates and received the first reimbursement check with 9 days of submission (including 2 weekends!). In addition to the easy use of HealthyPawsApp , we received an email from Healthy Paws checking in on our guy following his surgery, which further reinforced our appreciation for Healthy Paws!
