Fun, but dice roll favors A.I.

Good fun, but the dice probability really favors the computer players much more noticeably in the latest update. Just for my own amusement I tracked my last big battle - playing the morale card, no a.i. card modifiers (meaning I was rolling 4 dice versus 2), i lost 81 troops to 59 for the computer. That uneven of dice would be really low probability, yet it happens so often I actually took the time to run this goofy experiment. It’s still a fairly fun game, but I have to play anticipating the a.i. favoritism every game, because it pretty much does it every game, especially if you’re in the lead (like it’s trying to “balance” the play, which takes away from the strategy aspect of the game).

Why

Game was really fun to play, sort of like sandbox-esque for me personally, but now it’s littered with micro transactions and just feels completely different. Instead of changing a game loved by many why didn’t you just make a sequel and make people who enjoy the game becoming more complex and similar to, lets face it, every single mobile game ever (micro transactions and new “style”) happy as well? It just doesn’t make any sense seeing that this game is nearly 10 years old.. Stop trying to implement concepts from worse games and just give me my Blood and Honor from a year ago, call it classic or something whatever floats your boat, I guarantee you people will download it even if it’s a couple bucks to download.

Nukes

What. The. Heck. Were. You. Thinking? That is the most OP thing in the world. The air defense from being Germany doesn’t even work in protecting against it and on top of that the nuke will destroy literally all of the USA and Canada with ONE blow. Broken af. The game was awesome but that one thing literally just made this game such trash. Idk how people aren’t upset about that. It’s so unfair when only America members can have the nuke. So no matter how little of troops and land my opponent has all they have to do is just save up for the nuke and keep nuking me every 3 or so turns it is that you get it back. Stop making America the greatest it’s a freaking video game ok? Make it balanced plz. A nuke doesn’t even blow up but a city let alone an ENTIRE COUNTRY OR EVEN TWO! Unless it’s like Singapore or something.

Almost the perfect game

It’s so good but I’m irritated by the fact that I can’t do any lightning rounds and the cards say that you can unlock them at a certain level but once you reach that level it isn’t unlocked. I’m a “lvl 5” and I have still yet to unlock the defense card that requires you to be a “lvl 2”. So what exactly is going on? I’m fighting people of the same rank with half the range of cards they have. It’s stupid but I hope this can be fixed.

Fun game

I enjoy this game. The pc doesn't always use the best strategy but it's still fun. The thing that always made me mad was the adds, but they have made them much less annoying with the last update.

One of the best games on IPhone in my opinion

This game is great! There aren’t many ads, it features lots of game modes, you can build your army, and much more! My favorite is the command centers with teams and unlimited rounds. It’s a very satisfying game and features air strikes, nukes, chemical warfare, reinforcements for your troops, air transport, and war production that gives you more troops next round. It’s a unique game and I highly recommend playing it!

New version buggy, complex

Used to be a very simple game that was fun to pick up and you could set up your own game. Now it looks like the owner wants people to upgrade so that he can make lots of money. New version is buggy. It doesn’t allow you to set up a new game, and if you choose to join a random game you don’t know what type of game you’re playing (strategic, lightning, fog of war, etc). Very disappointed.

I spent way too much of my free time the last few months playing. Looks like that won’t be a problem anymore. New version is driving me away.

Used to be a cool game

Greed made these idiots ruin a near perfect game from 10 years ago. About 4 years ago they turned everything into a monetized micro transaction. I NEVER should have updated this stupid thing and held onto it on my old iPad so I atleast could have played the old version against AI. Don’t give these guys one cent, they know they ruined it and can’t admit their bastardry. Nothing cool or good ever lasts, it always has to be “improved”, “rebooted”, or “reimagined” just like they ruined Star Wars and every other good old movie. Stay away!!!

Fun

A good game to keep you busy and entertained all at the same time. Having a partner also seems fun at times as well. You get good ones and bad ones but to be able to have someone else helping you attack or defend or trade countries is a special type of fun.

Why change a good thing?

I found Riskofwar about 9 years ago and have been playing it and recommending it ever since. Fans of Risk really liked it. I can’t say that I will be suggesting this new version to anyone. I wish I wouldn’t have updated mine, the old version was great. I am considering deleting Riskofwar now because it just isn’t as enjoyable to play. If you don’t know what the old one was like then this is still a decent version of Risk on your phone.

What’s up with the cards not unlocking? Bug?

The cards used to unlock as you progress up. Now I’m in league 4 but the League 2 cards aren’t unlocked. The system matches you by league so if the cards don’t unlock you wind up playing against people with way more advantages and it’s nearly impossible to win. It’s making the game unplayable and disappointing.

Still crap

Still have the same set up as before the dice favor one specific person who can still be beat but takes a lot more effort seeing how the odds are against you. They do offer different support card that are pretty helpful but once again those also favor one person meaning they will get the better cards wile u are stuck with the basic ones. Over all game is still unfair and there are a lot of team players who play but the game does nothing to promote fair game play

This redesign Hass to go. Improve the old one but this new one is garbage

I’ve played this game literally thousands of times because it is the only intuitive and quick to play RISK type a game out there. I’ve played it for years and years and thousands of total games and loved it. The new redesign is so bad I will literally never play it again. I find myself just quitting halfway through games because it’s so convoluted and irritating to play now it’s crazy how they had such a perfect game and decided to ruin it

Great board game replica

Plenty maps to play and some fairly good game play. Really recommend if you were a member of swga or another war games association. Or if your Christmas Eve ritual (for all of two years) was playing risk but then it got too cumbersome for you father so you just went to bed after that.

Saddened by update

I loved this game. It was easy to play, easy to view and the least complicated functions of any game. But not it’s turned into something that’s not so simple and takes longer to play then I have time for on a phone. This games update should have just prompted a new name and kept the old version. I will be removing this from my “go to list” and finding a replacement. Thanks for the years of fun with the old version.

Update ruined the game

The new update ruined the game. Out of nowhere the developers bloated what used to be a good, lightweight game for the sake of making money with an overpriced payment model. You now spend more time watching animations and talking characters than playing. The new GUI reduces the size of the map 25%. And it appears that some game options have been removed? Practicality has been replaced with exorbitance. It seems that the developers have sold out and converted to just another crappy “in app purchases” game.

Woot woot

Great game. Helps me kill time without consuming data. For those complaining the games to easy. Change the difficulty up and instead of ALWAYS starting on the same continent. Try starting in a different territory. Give yourself an actual challenge (:

So many bots !! Developers intentionally put them in online games

So much for playing other humans. There are now bots in virtually every game. All the bot accounts are named “guest” followed by 4 digits. Developers responded to me and told me they are trying an “experiment”... I got the results of that experiment—Epic failure. Even having 1 bot in a match compromises the competitive integrity.

It’s pretty clear to me none of the developers play the actual game, or they would understand the flawed logic in introducing bots into online games & how it’s ruined gameplay.

Big update made the game so much worse.

This game used to be the perfect Risk variant. Fast paced, easy to pick up and set down, easily playable with or without WiFi. They had excellent game mode selection. Now they made UI changes as well as gameplay changes and ruined the smooth and near perfect features found in the version they had for years. Like if you want to make a game this different, release blood and honor 2. Don’t break an already great game. Horrible developers.

Can't believe it's free...

Great game, online or offline. I bought the full version and don't even use the extra features. The free game is amazing. They have kept it very well maintained and fixed all issues I've noticed while playing.

Fun Risk type Game

Got a couple suggestions though. Make more ww1 themes and add the Renault FT as a light infantry unit. So around 15 u will get it. as for Germany though add the A7V as a heavy infantry unit around 23. These tanks will make the game more historical. But the game so far is great. If u can add these suggestions it would be great thx. Also one more maybe a scenario editor would be nice alright that will be it but great game!!!
