Slow, buggy, crashes, not user friendly, logs you out often

We have been forced to use WellsFargoVantage for our expenses at our company. It is super slow. Any Iphone IOS updates always make it slower or crash more than it already does. Often times it logs me out while I am working in WellsFargoVantage . Usually when I have finally gone through ten screens to get to upload a picture to the report is when it logs me out and you have to start over at the beginning. I think the picture loading is super slow too and horrible. You can’t see the pics except for a very tiny thumbnail. Starting over and over for each charge to the card is not helpful. So much needs to be changed. Also why can I not fix the categories of expenses in WellsFargoVantage . Still have to go to laptop to finish the expenses. Let’s not even begin to say how much of a pain doing the expenses and adding pics on the laptop is. No one I work with would recommend WellsFargoVantage and hope we all get away from Wells Fargo at some point soon. We all beg to use another bank with a better app. Every month we all dread using this and don’t want to use our expenses because it means more long hours in WellsFargoVantage. My expenses used to be easy. A quick spreadsheet and pdf of all my receipts now has turned into hours of frustration trying to get all pics uploaded so slowly on WellsFargoVantage then having to drag out the laptop to approve the report and change the codes. WellsFargoVantage needs a total revision. Also it is crashing today already. Yay!

App Malfunction Constantly - Avoid if you can

This is the worst app I’ve ever used for expenses. 90% of the time that I attempt to take pictures of my receipts and then add them, directly through WellsFargoVantage , it kicks me out completely. This then forces me to go through the log-in process again, find the expense, and then attempt the picture. Often, this takes 3-5 attempts per expense. Using WellsFargoVantage has increased the amount of time it takes me to fulfill my duties drastically. Although WellsFargoVantage is supposed to be a convenience, it is the opposite. I find myself having to email pictures of my receipts so that I can save them to my desktop and load through the website. This is unacceptable. Absolute worst expense app I’ve ever used and do not recommend it.

Poor design

When uploading receipts to app it will sign you out in the process due to inactivity even if you are actively uploading receipts. The algorithm can rarely read the receipts and the information needs to be put in manually. The whole process is very slow and tedious and you need to log in from the computer to actually finalize everything and put in descriptions of charges. Often when you attach a receipt it will think for awhile then give up without doing anything. The only solution appears to be uploading to the statement instead of the charge, then logging in on a computer and fixing it. If you have a choice, I wouldn’t go with this bank or app if you need to track expenses.

Newest update BAD

Newest update is bad. Updated 3 days ago and WellsFargoVantage is glitching BAD! Couldn't get password changed, it finally suspended me and I had to update on the web. Then trying to enter my expenses for my company and it wouldn't let me enter the expense category. When it did, I tried entering the date of the expense, it would change the expense category. Every time I touched the date entry it would change the category, scrolling through them all. I could get the amount and description entered, had to save it, submit, then go back in and edit the date and category. Took WAY longer to submit my expenses than it should have. Please fix this! I enter expenses weekly.

Horrible app

Continuously interrupts me with pop ups while I’m trying to input expenses demanding that I rate WellsFargoVantage , so hear you go: WellsFargoVantage is the electronic version of the Hanoi Hilton. It routinely loses receipts you have previously entered. It freezes up on a regular basis. It’s ability to match a receipt with a posted expense is abysmal. You will need to allocate at least quadruple the amount of time to complete your expense report as you would if you were doing it by hand because WellsFargoVantage will stymie you with almost every transaction. You will curse the day of your birth when using WellsFargoVantage. It is forcing me to give it a minimum of one star in this review, but, really, one star is delusions of grandeur considering the functionality of this debacle of a product.

I was going to keep my mouth shut but...

So, WellsFargoVantage drives me nuts, it has potential but, it's klunky and poorly executed. The receipt upload function sounds great until you use it. It's clumsy and has no way to upload multiple receipts to the same statement. I suppose that would be fine if you were to upload each receipt as you got it but, honestly, who's going to do that?
Also, the inactivity counter has been broken for months and I will get logged out due to inactivity 2-3 times per use.
I know that any app is going to have issues and I wasn't going to leave a bad review but, as I was trudging through the tedious process of uploading my receipts today, a new hurdle arose. WellsFargoVantage was asking me to review it in the middle of every receipt.
Well, here you go guys, reviewed.

Eye scan sign on is unreliable

Since the introduction of the biometric eye scan WellsFargoVantage has become unstable. I have rescanned my eyes multiple times and had tech support troubleshoot but it still fails 80% of the time. The purpose of WellsFargoVantage is to save time but every time I sign on I end up getting frustrated and dragged into a rabbit hole of resetting password and becoming locked out. Please just give us a simple two step authentication or a finger print sign on method and drop the eye scan - I used to live depositing via WellsFargoVantage . I would now rather drive to the bank. By the way, I am writing this last sentence after trying to submit but being forced to add a nickname, 23 of which were already taken - Wells Fargo - please stop playing with technology and just refocus on what you do best.

Truly one of the most infuriating apps I have ever used

I have to use WellsFargoVantage to creat my expense reports for work, as I’m sure most of us do, otherwise I would never use WellsFargoVantage. Often times I find it to be completely unusable. There are time when I cannot access anything in WellsFargoVantage before being signed out (less than 10secs spent in WellsFargoVantage ), or the screen will be completely blank with no way of navigating anywhere. Sometimes when typing my text won’t show up.

Navigation is incredibly cumbersome, WellsFargoVantage feels like it was developed for the first iPhone and was never updated. It is, by far, the slowest app in my phone. Even with my 400mb/s upload speed and brand new IPhone, I’m required to wait 30+ secs for a picture to upload. It’s just ridiculous.

Horrendous and truly dreadful to use

I’ve been using Wells Fargo CEO for about a year and their systems are so outdated. I typically use WellsFargoVantage for wire approvals and desktop check deposit via the mobile phone.

In terms of functionality, WellsFargoVantage is seriously limited. However, I’ve never used such a terrible, poorly managed, useless and totally dysfunctional app.

The CEO mobile token never works, the tabs never reload and WellsFargoVantage constantly crashes while your in middle of doing something. The layout is from the early 2,000 and everything is totally the opposite of intuitive and innovative. I’m using WellsFargoVantage because I have to for my business…don’t know how much longer I am gonna to be able to manage.

WELLS FARGO - Invest some money into a good developing team, it’s needed. Also, it’s laughable that you put a note on the welcoming screen on WellsFargoVantage to not update to iOS 15 yet because your app is not equipped. That’s something you guys have to take care of…every other banking app in the world is better then this.

That’s honestly ridiculous.

Get your act together, your going to lose multi million dollar business.

Barely functions

Why they thought to do biometric sign in over the standard fingerprint sign in I will never know, but the biometric sign in never works. Their password is a limited number of characters and has to be changed frequently meaning that you usually forget it. So not having a fingerprint sign in is frustrating enough.
To add receipt images you have to do several clicks when really you should only have to do 1. So this greatly slows down the process. And the camera rarely recognizes that the receipt is in range and it keeps whatever background you have your receipt on. So if you have to print your receipts you waste a ton of color ink for no reason.
And you can’t revise your coding on WellsFargoVantage so now you have to use a combination of WellsFargoVantage and the desktop all at the same time.

Only using this app because I have to for work

Of all my apps (ALL of them), this is by far the absolute worst. How does it have an average rating of 4.3 out of 5? Out of 100, MAYBE. Pictures sometimes attach, and when they do, it usually shuts down WellsFargoVantage and you have to start over. Usually do my expenses on the weekend, because I don’t have the time required to do it during the weekday, thanks to how long everything takes in WellsFargoVantage. The desktop version is only slightly better, but because I have to take pictures from my phone of all my receipts, this makes the phone app necessary and therefore frustrating. I am not alone, and the help desk takes forever and does not end up helping. If you are a company looking to bring this on, don’t! It will cost you way too many wasted hours of labor.

Pathetic App

WellsFargoVantage crashes continually. After you enter your amount and click next to take pictures of your checks the screen turns red half the time, sometimes there is no button to click to take your picture or completely logs you out of WellsFargoVantage . Also, a lot of the time it’s unable to read the micr line and it only randomly asks if you would like to enter it manually. Most of the time you try and take the picture again and it will never ask if you’d like to enter it manually again. Your only option is to take the same picture 15 times until it’s finally accepted or just click back and start all over. WellsFargoVantage is complete garbage and slows me down daily while trying to fulfill my job duties. You’d think a company the size of Wells Fargo would have the resources to fix this swiftly.

Inexcusable Interface

I think this is my first review ever about an app. WellsFargoVantage does a poor job of living up to the financial size of Wells Fargo. It is clunky, poorly designed, and has a poor user interface experience.

With the funds at WF’s disposal, you would think they would invest more into how most companies/individual users utilize their banking experience: on an app. I previously had an iPhone 8, with thumbprint ID, and I could set that up no problem. Now, with an iPhone 13, I cannot set up facial recognition nor my mobile token. WellsFargoVantage times out, or freezes when I attempt to set up either. It seems WellsFargoVantage is still stuck in 2008, and has not been updated for phones of this decade.

Disappointed would mean I would have expected something different. WellsFargoVantage merely confirms my stance that WF is a banking institution that is focused on the wrong items in their agenda.

Receipts posting to a statement

I messaged Wells Fargo about the issue of their app with uploading receipts to statements. What used to happen is you select upload receipt, select upload to statement only, select which statement either cycle to date or open. Then you take a pic and what used to happen is it would process the pic of the receipt, when finished you select done and it then asks if you want an email confirmation sent. Well, now when you take a pic of your receipt the screen goes light gray and is stuck.
Like stated before, I notified Wells Fargo. They reached back out to saying this. You have to contact your company administrator and gave me the names, then said I don’t have authorization to communicate or change things on our company account. Well no crap! I can tell you this. My company administrators don’t have authorization to go into your companies app and fix bugs and issues.
PLEASE FIX THIS!

Absolute Worst Expense App

Let me start by saying, I absolutely hate uploading receipts to WellsFargoVantage. At the end of the month. The worse part of my job is doing this.

WellsFargoVantage is extremely clumsy, with a very poor interface. The responsiveness of it is poor at best. Regardless of Wi-Fi or cell strength. Not only does it stick on a blank screen every time you log in. But it takes multiple times closing out WellsFargoVantage . And reopening it, before you can finally proceed. Then once in to upload receipts and information. It is always inevitable that it will kick you out. And have to start the same process over again to finish.

When I say I HATE WellsFargoVantage. That is no joke at all. Run, hide, convince your company to use another source. Just steer clear of this. Or you will loose your mind on It as well. And yes developers, WellsFargoVantage is running current updates on IP12. This isn’t anything new, and has been like this for the 6 years of me using it.

Invalid Routing Number

I’ve been using WellsFargoVantage for almost 4 years for work, and every year it gets worse. I only use it to deposit checks and what used to take a couple minutes now is a 10 minute struggle to get WellsFargoVantage to accept a single check. If it makes it past the picture step, which it often can’t and forces you to retake the picture 3-5 times, it gets hung up on the check itself. The AI can’t read, period. It will misread the amount, which you can at least manually fix with about a thousand clicks. But the hardest thing for it to read is the routing number. God forbid the signature on the check barely grazes a number, you’ll never get it to go through. Even if the routing number is perfectly clear, it will sometimes just decide it’s invalid. There’s no way that I can find to override this or manually enter the routing number. You just have to repeat the entire process again and again until it finally takes it. For one check. WellsFargoVantage seems to update constantly but I have no idea what it’s updating cause it just keeps getting worse. Half my team cannot get WellsFargoVantage to work at all and have given up.

Worst app ever!

I’ve only used a couple apps for expense reporting. Unfortunately this is the one I have to use at the moment. Only because my company uses WF cards. WellsFargoVantage is virtually useless. Takes about 5 minuets to attach one receipt because WellsFargoVantage is slow, won’t let you do but one task at a time, and crashes a lot!

Their website isn’t much better, it’s the 21st century and the best option Wells Fargo has to report expenses is sending in a fax or email with all the receipts taped to a piece of paper. From there I don’t know what happens to them....

Best of Luck if WellsFargoVantage is the only option for you. Hopefully the multi billion dollar company will spend some time and hire a high school kid to design a better user interface.

Potentially Good

I’ve been using WF CEO mobile for well over a year. In that time I’ve been frustrated more than I’ve been impressed. Some pros: eye print sign in is fairly fast but I worry someone else could use theirs eyes-I’ve goofed around and made funny faces and it still works. Being able to upload 5 receipts at a time is nice but like others have said the picture taking is cumbersome. Some cons: not formatted right for my iPhone XR, the top of the screen gets cut off. WellsFargoVantage is fairly slow to load and navigate no matter what device (even my newer XR), regardless of Internet connection. The overall style seems old and outdated to me. I’m not a fan of apps that essentially just use a mobile friendly website which is what CEO seems to me. The desktop website is just as outdated and clumsy, too. Other things: I mark that I don’t want email confirmations when I upload receipts yet ALWAYS get them. What’s the point of that? My biggest gripe is the overall navigation. It just seems everything is multiple clicks. Just too time consuming. Aren’t we all using this for work? Shouldn’t we be able to just get it done? I feel WellsFargoVantage could use a lot more polish. The basic ideas aren’t bad, just poorly executed.

Buggy and cumbersome

WellsFargoVantage could be good but the multiple clicks to get around is horrible if you have to upload more than a couple receipts. The biometric sign in works okay but does not like my glasses primarily because it requires you to hold the phone within 6” of your face. It would be much better if WellsFargoVantage would use the integrated biometrics iPhone already has. Also if you end up having to do a marathon receipt upload WellsFargoVantage will sign you out in the middle of it at least once.
WellsFargoVantage is fairly buggy as well, I have had issues with signing in just taking me back to the sign in page again after clicking sign in or giving me an HTML error. I’ve had a similar loop occur while uploading receipts as well.

To many steps and super slow

The only reason I use WellsFargoVantage is for work. It is to slow. What should take about 15 minutes takes over an hour. Also there are to many steps, I have to hit the same buttons over and over. Need to simplify and make it user friendly. Every time I do my expense reports WellsFargoVantage times out because it is too slow
