Holafly: Prepaid eSIM Card Reviews

I’m sure if your phone is unlocked from your service provider, this will be an excellent option. BUT…if your phone is not unlocked from your service provider, you will not be able to use this service! I was not aware of this and I am already overseas. This made it extremely difficult to contact my provider to see what I can do to unlock my phone. In my case, I have to pay off my phone completely in order to unlock my device from the carrier. I am currently waiting on Holifly customer support to get back to me to get a refund as I am unable to use their service. The only way to contact customer support is through WhatsApp or Email. It is taking a long time for them to respond. I hope this issue can be resolved shortly.

First of all, I want to commend the support chat for bring the resolution of my concern.
I brought a 30 days Spain plan to my trip back to Spain and I definitely will recommend it to any traveller.
Aside from the service they are offering, one thing that makes this company the best is because of the people and support team behind it, so thank you.
I will surely recommend you to my friends and family should they need an e-sim.

I’ve had several problems over the past week in Paris and Normandy:
1. Customer service is only through What’s App. Nobody has ever responded to me.
2. Service is very slow and cuts out often. Once I lose service, it does not automatically reconnect. I have to restart my iPhone several times a day to get service to work.
3. Holafly is useless you can’t buy an esim or get customer service so I don’t know why you need it.
My wife got an Airalo esim for this same trip and their service has been faster and far more consistent.

I was in Mexico city and purchased an this app eSim and had no data in most of the city parts. The parts where I did have internet connection, it worked poorly and slow. One day I found myself needing an uber and having to ask a stranger to share data so I could request one. After that, I had to purchase an eSim from another provider, which didn’t provide “unlimited data” but was cheaper and it actually did what it was supposed to do, which is letting me use mobile data. I do not recommend Holafly.

Holafly is minimal and really only has steps to set up your SIM and shows you how many days you have left on your service. But the steps were easy to follow and most importantly the cell service was great everywhere. Used it in London and Paris and had zero issues. Had 5G reception 98% of the time.

My experience with this app was phenomenal. I’ve used other esims and this was the best one that I’ve used so far. Holafly works good and I didn’t have any issues. Everything was easy to setup and worked great during my travel experience using the service.

I’m shocked by the reviews that say their support east great. Twice when my cellular service has stopped working they left me unanswered in the chat.

Absolutely crazy to leave someone stranded without the basic service that the eSim is suppose to provide.

I’m only giving them 2 stars because when the eSim works it’s great but that means nothing when they show you how little they care in support chat.

My first experience with this app has been wonderful. During the trip I have not had any coverage problem either because it connects to the network that has the best signal at all times. I will definitely repeat    ​   

Holafly immediately proved itself to be garbage. I couldn’t even get past the verification screen because it never sent me the verification email. And no, it did not go to the spam folder. I also couldn’t login using my Apple ID. Complete waste of time and absolute garbage. Honestly, you save me time. Because if people can’t even sign up, I imagine the customer service and the product itself is equally garbage. Maybe higher better developers.

Hello there, the this app esim is agreat service for multiple city visits, the internet speed is great the coverage is great also the plan period fits me well.

The only issue that there should be a step by step to activate the esim because it is not easy to do it.

I’m buying sims for pals overseas to keep them connected. You can’t top up the plans inside Holafly and if you go to the website and top-up, you can’t see the top-up in Holafly — the sim just disappears into the expired section.

App features are limited. Can’t even see the full activation codes at one time.

I’d use another provider if I had an option.

I purchased in good faith. Holafly and E-Sim card disrupted my phone to the point I had to go to tech store while on vacation to get my smartphone to function. I reached out to this app for assistance and no one got back to me. The worst purchase of 2023 for me. The worst is being abroad and without a phone and to not get any assistance as promised by company. Do not purchase this it’s a waste of your money.

The UI design is great and everything is where it should be. I love how easy it is to find everything. I just wish we could order eSIM from Holafly .

Lack of support for such a buggy product. They make you install WhatsApp, and then they don’t respond for two hours. And if you aren’t the still waiting you start over. I will be going back to my carriers plan.

I bought the service, installed as it said on the manuals and never worked, I contacted customer service and sent screen shots of every step and they were also unable got get the service working, when I asked for a refund they simply stoped replying
Terrible service

The signal was extremely low and slow compared to my Google fi networks. The only advantage that it had is that it was unlimited. But you can’t really get much data out of an “unlimited” plan with a slow and weak signal in most of Paris.

I would give zero for Holafly. Don’t ever use this app. My niece purchase a plan and followed all the instructions but it never work when it actually said it’s already activated. This only took our money. And she have never able to use the wifi

Here’s the issue for me that has me furious: The eSIM works, but what I realized way too late is that for some reason, it’s routed in a way that makes my location appear to be HONG KONG… when I’m in NEW YORK CITY supposedly using US DATA. IT MESSED UP MY SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT which could take weeks to fix. Not to mention it was annoying to constantly be shown prices in Hong Kong Dollar on every google search and travel app. ABSOLUTE FAIL.

Switched from using Airalo to this app - love everything about their company. It’s the unlimited data for me - and the 24/7 customer service and ability to talk to a real person. Every time i have needed support, someone was texting with me immediately and helped to resolve my issues asap. I truly have no complaints and plan on using them exclusively moving forward.

First of all, I was waiting online for at least one and half hour before Diego assisted my problem. There was no one talk to me while I was waiting and I do not know if it was disconnected however I decided to be online that was a long time. This one is necessary to be improved.

I was having trouble getting my ESIM connected. Their team did amazing in assisting and assessing the whole situation. They payed attention to detail and overall provided great customer service. They are also available 24/7 in the case of something else popping up :). Service is great overall! Highly recommend

Their esims are easy to install. I used in several countries, at that locations the reception and data speed was very good. No problem on cell network quality. I like that they offer unlimited data. I was delightfully surprised that their customer service is very good.

I purchased this in order to have international calling on my recent trip to Thailand. I wasn’t able to utilize it while abroad (user error!) and this app was wonderful about communication and issuing a refund for me plus a 10% discount for future usage. I have found the communication to be excellent, friendly and sincere.

Finally a solution for travelers to stay connected.
No more dependence on mobile companies.

The first time I used it was in Argentina and Brazil, it worked pretty good. This time I went for a different company by mistake for Europe and needless to say less than 12 hours later I finally bought the eSIM from this app and works a-m-a-z-I-n-g!!!!

Used this app for 3 weeks in Japan with excellent service and coverage. Saved a lot of money as opposed to using Verizon while traveling. Easy to use, watch a video for instructions.

I've used this app in Mexico, Iceland, Amsterdam, Greece, and Azerbaijan; and it has been so nice and easy to use every time. I had good coverage that any cell company would have. I honestly can't recommend it enough.

My initial review was good but since then things have gone to pooor): Doing as Asia trip and bought unlimited Japan eSIM plus Asia region unlimited eSIM and just did a top off. Everytime I had any questions I reached out for help via Holafly and was immediately take care of (even their AI help assistant asks the right questions, no issues). Response are timely, complete with I formation and they want to co firm you were successful. Service in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand has been 98% 5G and LTE right now as I am in the middle of Thailand - I am pleased). Final feedback: I have needed help two more times and have waited in excess of 30 minutes to get someone. This can’t be a fluke, their agents must be swamped trying
To help others. I can not in good conscious use this app again.

Valeria from support spent no less then an hour helping me with my rain issue. We went through 5 different troubleshooting things. It ended up being that I bought the wrong sim for my area. She helped me cancel that and refund me a credit to get the correct one. This is the best support I’ve had in quite a long time! I’ll be a customer for life!

Luis was absolutely amazingly helpful when I was having a problem with getting the eSIM on my phone. He was very professional, quickly identified my problem and solved it quickly. Luis was the third customer service person that I had asked for help. So very thankful I finally connected with him.

Among all the eSIM services, this is probably the best one. The difference is that for Europe region, they gives you an Austrian number and you can make/receive calls. This could be super useful. Also the roaming carriers are good in Europe. I’ve had good reception with fast internet. Highly recommend it!

I have had a few issues with this app since I purchased service from them but every time their customer service has been able to solve my issues. I will continue to use them in the future.

I had the 90 day Europe plan and it worked really well as I traveled to different countries a part of the plan and always had service. I needed to extend my plan after it expired and the customer service chat was incredibly helpful! They got back to me quickly and helped me through the entire process. I would definitely recommend this app to long term travelers!

Traveled to Mexico to many places including San Miguel De Allende, Guanajuato. It never worked as advertised. I had better service and reception just using my carrier (Verizon). When I turned off the this app Esim I had a more smooth and faster service. It may work elsewhere or better for other people, but it didn’t work for me. My advise, spend those $20 dollars on upgrading your service while traveling or get a local SIM card when arriving at your destination.

This is my first time using an eSIM card for phone service in Europe. I am not very tech savvy, and was very confused on how it works. Luckily this app MADE IT SIMPLE! I initially was confused and contacting them in a chat to make sure I was on the right track. They had great patience with me at all times. It was so simple and too good to be true, so I thought. I finally calmed down after speaking with Viviana. She was very helpful. I could see that all was working great and easy! This is such a great service, and I am very happy that I purchased a plan. It’s definitely a five star winner!!! And thank you to Viviana for her patience and service.

I ordered an esim from this service and they never fulfilled my order, which is ridiculous considering this is literally online?? When I contacted support through their virtual assistant, I never received any response or help with my issue, and after 3 hours of waiting my chat was resolved by them despite never getting in contact with me. I also contacted their available email and also got zero response. Essentially, I’ve been scammed 100€!! If you want to avoid getting scammed as well I would avoid this brand at all costs.

This was a fantastic app/product. We used unlimited data and 60 call minutes for our trip to Europe. Coverage was excellent and we were able to utilize the web and maps throughout our trip.

Although waiting until you are at your destination can be a challenge for the activation process, the customer service team is alert, attentive and prompt to address issues. I worked with them prior to the trip as I researched options for my trip to Spain and Portugal. They were amazing before and after the sale ensuing customer satisfaction. I highly recommend.

This is the first time that I was using this app and had a little difficulty understanding the instructions. I reached out to their help team and was immediately connected to Aura. She got back to me so quickly with helpful information and questions for me to resolve my problem with a few minutes. I would absolutely use this app again!

These people were up in the middle of the night (Europe time) to help me install and understand the choices for the eSIM card. Their customer service team will be there for you if and when you need help. ( I am a fairly tech illiterate senior, so this was a challenge for me.)

Had problem getting my iPhone 14 to be able to connect to service in Lausanne, Switzerland. I contacted this app to help with the situation and there tech was able to walk me through steps to debug and correct the phone configuration. Works well now. Very happy with the tech.

I’m living in china and I just renewed my 90 day china eSIM. This has come in handy while traveling and living in china. No need to buy a Chinese phone plan. Easy to install. I’ve had no issues with losing internet. Have to also add the customer service is quick and helpful. 5 out of 5 stars for product and customer service.
