Uncompromising? Pretty much.

Cadence is an activity logger for cycling and running, and while there are many alternatives in this category of mobile apps, my opinion is that Cadence is currently an uncompromising standout.

- The interface is whatever you want it to be, from simple and sparse to detailed and data-dense. The editor and page system is intuitive, and the overall user interface is attractive and pragmatic. It feels like I’m using a proper cycling computer rather than the speedometer of a cyberpunk tuner-car.

- The activity history is very detailed and well organized, and I’m a bit of a sucker for graphs and number data.

- The balance between freely available options versus pro subscription options is fair and makes sense. Cadence is perfectly usable to someone who doesn’t need or want to pay for a pro subscription, while the pro subscription should feel worthwhile to someone who uses RunBikeTracker regularly, though I’ll admit to feeling if it were any higher I would not subscribe.

- I don’t feel like I’m giving anything up. I’m not settling for a mess of an interface because I need a feature that’s only available elsewhere. Likewise, I’m not missing out on features because I want to use an attractive app. Rather, I feel that I’ve got both in an app that manages to not feel bloated or overly complicated. Bravo.

Best Cycling stats app I have ever used

I’ve gone through a lot of apps over the years. Some I tried for a week others a stop using after a day. But this one is by far the best one I’ve ever used. All the information I want is there. The customizable interface is amazing. I also appreciate your verbal cues which I have set every mile to inform me of my distance and average speed and any other info that I could want. The only two things I didn’t like is that I had to pay to lose the ads. But that’s kind of standard fare with most any app anymore. And The sink to Strava is kind of clunky. I’m not saying it’s unusable but I find it easier to just run Strava and RunBikeTracker at the same time rather than export the information. That might just be a personal preference though. Basically I fully endorse it and you should give it a try

By far the best free app for capturing cycling data and uploading it to the Health app.

By far the best free app for capturing cycling data and uploading it to the Health app.

I tried a dozen different free cycling tracker apps. Many of them did not support uploading cycling data to health, or only provided it in a paid version. Some required you to register, share personal data, or always allow access to location services (even when RunBikeTracker was not running). Several claimed to support uploading to Health, but did not work.

The cadence set-up was smooth and painless. Uploading data to health worked the first time out. It has a clean and straight forward UI, and automatically paused during a break.

These basics would’ve been enough to earn it a five star rating from me. However, it far exceeded expectations in many other ways. The history section is best in class, with a clean UI, the best historical maps, and the best graphs. It also gives in the ability to customize screens.

I was concerned that the GPS tracking might kill my battery, but it barely used any juice.

While the free version does have some advertising, it’s nowhere near as prevalent as in other apps. All in all, I would’ve given this a six star if possible!

Perfect for using w/ Peleton app on TV!

I have a Schwinn IC4 spin bike that I love and I use it with the Peleton app on my smart TV. Only problem is my bike doesn’t have a very granular cadence display or power output…luckily I found RunBikeTracker and it is exactly what I needed! I pair my Schwinn’s armband HRM and cadence sensor with RunBikeTracker and was able to customize the display to make it lean and easy to glance at.

After subscribing RunBikeTracker is definitely helping me come our way ahead compared to paying the full blown Peleton monthly change if I owned one. I’m much happier with a bike that’s not locked down and apps like this that help give me the info I need in a great, clean interface.

And should you ever need it the support from the developer is superb, truly a class act!

Clean, simple, perfect indoor cycling app

Cadence is 100 times simpler and 100 times more useful than the other big riding apps like rouvy and zwift. Instead of most of my tiny phone screen being taken up by a tiny virtual cyclist and barely visible confusing metrics, Cadence allows you to see everything you need on one screen: heart rate, speed, distance, and cadence. It connected quickly and easily to both my Garmin cadence and speed sensors. It also quickly syncs data to both Strava and Apple Health. If you have an indoor bike, this is by far the best app out there for effectively and easily tracking your exercises and progress. And bonus: you can take it on outdoor rides and runs too.

Swiss Army Knife of Bike Computers

I Love the Cadence Bike app! I have been using it since the beginning of this season so for about 7 months. I love the complete customization of any data you want on any screen. I have multiple screens I use depending on the riding I’m doing. There are so many features that make RunBikeTracker so enjoyable to use. It connects perfectly via Bluetooth with my heart rate sensor, speed sensor and power meter. I love that I can preload routes and see them as I ride.
The developer is awesome. I recognized an issue with RunBikeTracker , emailed him and he worked with me to come up with a fix and very prompt.
Overall a fantastic app and very well worth the money!

Best app for live display of cycling stats

I’ve tried many cycling apps over the years. None come close to this one for displaying current speed, heart rate, power, climbing, and any other data I want to see in front of me as I pedal. It feels infinitely customizable, and the visual layout is top notch (I’m a graphic designer, so that’s important.)

Support is excellent — my last inquiry got a reply in minutes. I still use Ride With GPS to create routes and bring them into Cadence, but Seven Bold will no doubt add these features at some point. It’s in active development, with frequent updates and bug fixes.

Stop looking, this is the one!

I’ve tried every popular bike app out there: strava’s too basic, cyclemeter is overwhelming and unintuitive, ridewithgps lacks functionality, komoot isn’t customizable. I settled for cyclemeter but was bummed there wasn’t something better.

I randomly came across Cadence and FINALLY, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. Packed with features, super customizable, Apple Watch and cadence/speed sensor support, and all wrapped in an intuitive and slick interface.

It’s a shame RunBikeTracker isn’t getting more love on RunBikeTracker Store because it really does blow the competition out of the water.

Hand down best cycling computer app

RunBikeTracker is by far the best cycling computer app in RunBikeTracker Store. Not only does it look and feel like an actual by computer, but it also has all the features that you need to connect sensors to it. It’s also a good looking app. One small feature that’s missing is strava live segments as well as the ability to display and follow Strava routes. That would be huge for me. But I emailed the developer, Ryan, and they mention that this features in the works. Buy the pro version you won’t regret it

Look no further for a polished cycling computer app

I’ve simply been loving Cadence. I have contemplated a few times getting a bike computer but I can’t fathom the trade offs. Being able to create routes on Strava, send the GPX file to Cadence and get turn by turn is just tremendous. RunBikeTracker charts and data is well presented. It just… works. I rather not depend on my phone as my battery seems to go fairly easy but Cadence is far and away the best app I’ve used and I gladly pay for it. CycleMeter has nothing on you.

The best!

I have tried a ton of apps to track my workouts over the years and this one is the best! Clean and fully customizable interface that is simple to use with support for all of the sensor types. It’s really difficult to find all of those qualities in a single app of this type - I’d say impossible until now. I love RunBikeTracker and sent some additional feature requests to the developer who was very responsive! Download RunBikeTracker and give it a try. The subscription price is very reasonable as well - which I truly appreciate. 👍👍

Best I have used for biking

I have been biking for 50 years and this program just made it much more fun and easier to train. I kept trying apps that just did not have the features I wanted (or needed). Strava is good but it is more for routes and analysis of data, not so much collecting the data itself.

Ryan is very responsive and fixed a bug I found within a day of my message. Excellent support.

I can now use my speed sensor data instead of GPS speed. That was one thing that drove me crazy with Strava. As a scientist (used to be in tox research), I am a little picky when it comes to data.

The multiple configurable screens will give you enough options to keep you busy for a while and is worth the cost all by itself. The routing is good also so I will likely just use Strava for analysis now.

Maps unusable in China

Due to the default choice of google maps, the maps and navigation are mostly useless in China as google maps is not only out of date but offset. Apple Maps would likely fix this issue but there is no way to select a different source.

Edit: Developer responded and suggested emailing them, which I’ve done. Will update review if further changes.

Edit 2: developer added Apple Maps. Thanks

Love it.

I subscribed so I could take advantage of some of the features. HR and speed both track with my computer and HR watch so I no longer need them when riding. Large, customizable screen is easy to view at a glance. Automatically syncs with Strava. Tracks more data than I need for the riding I do. Support quickly responded to questions I had. All in all I’m very pleased with RunBikeTracker and the service backing it up!

Works well. Easy to setup. But...

Like the product. Use pulse monitor, cadence, speed, elevation gain, etc. But I use different bikes, some with off road tires. Cadence works well with all bikes. However I would like a field or way of naming each ride so I can differentiate one type of ride from another. Then could compare progress or decline over time. (I am 77 years old. Just trying not to lose too much ground.)

By

Love It (Just One Request)

RunBikeTracker is really the cleanest experience and interface I’ve seen on a cycling app. Integration with the Garmin Varia is a HUGE plus.

My one request is for my data to be stored in the cloud instead of my device. Having to export and import data between devices is clunky for a paid service in 2022.

Other than that, 100% recommend it.

Best app for your $

I looked around for a cycling computer when I got my new bike and thought I’d like one from the bike store but ended up returning it since RunBikeTracker gives you everything you want. I have mine paired with a wahoo blue WC for cadence and my Apple Watch for heart rate and I can see everything on my phone as I get my ride on. It’s definitely worth the yearly price!

Using it for running

Just tried out RunBikeTracker and really like it. It looks a lot simpler than other running apps I've used, but provides more options and stats. Ads don't show up until after I save my run, so that's nice. I haven't upgraded yet, but moved the outdoor running screen to be first in the list. Nice that I can still customize the screen with the stats I want to see.

By

Simple and intuitive

I’ve been using RunBikeTracker for both running and cycling. It’s quickly become my favorite. Super easy and intuitive to use. I really appreciate that I can customize my screens so that I can see the data that’s important and meaningful to me in the order that I like. I highly recommend!

Glitchy using Apple Watch

RunBikeTracker itself does everything I could wish for and more but it tends to be glitchy when I use my Apple Watch 8 as the heart rate sensor. In order to get the watch app and the iPhone app to work properly together I must reboot the watch before starting up the watch app. Otherwise I think this would be a 5 star app if that one issue was fixed!

Top-Notch!!!

I downloaded and tried nearly every cycling app available for iPhone. All I wanted was an app that would pair with a variety of sensors and had a customizable interface that would allow me to display MPH, RPM and HR in large, bold font with a few other data points in smaller font. Incredibly, almost none of the available apps fit the bill... Until I came across Cadence. Cadence is a work of art. A true masterpiece. I've designed interfaces and apps for two decades. I know a great app when I see and use one. And this is fantastic. FIVE STARS!!! Intuitive, easy to use, versatile, with a clean interface. Absolutely top-notch. The only thing it's missing is an AUTO-PAUSE SPEED THRESHOLD feature to suspend recording while under a configured speed. But I'm hoping this will be added soon.

Concise and easy to use

I was looking for an app for a new indoor bike I bought. Some were overly complicated, some were hard to use, and some downright hard on the eyes. What I love about Cadence is how clean the design is. I set up the screen with everything I needed, without clutter and extra details that I don’t need. Everything is there in an easy to use format. I did have trouble with exaggerated speeds being reported from the bike but that has happened across other apps so I don’t blame RunBikeTracker . If you want clear, concise information that is easy to read (at a reasonable price) I recommend Cadence.
**a wishlist item is to be able to send heart rate data to apple health

Maybe All Bike Apps This Way

sitting on fence between using app vs bike computer. (1) 3 day trial too short & only after subscription kicked in was I able to work app (2) speed fluctuated between 0.3 & 1.7 mph while sitting in a chair (3) while stopped during ride would constantly switch itself between pause & engage (4) turned itself off during ride (5) took multiple screens to connect Garmin radar. Most reviews favorable so can’t rule out operator error (i.e. me). Thanks
Jan 15 Update - revising star rating to 4 as super quick response from developer. It’ll be a couple of days before I ride again & can try app taking into account response.

bike computer alternative, Varia and Sram Power Meter compatible!

Cadence is a great bike computer alternative. i mount my iphone onto my handlebars and can use my Varia (saftey lane assist radar) and track speed, distance, heart rate, traveling route. I have SRAM rival electronic group and it’s compatible with my SRAM Rival power meter so i can track power output as well as cadence. I also will pair with my heart rate monitor (polar H10) on workouts.

i commute to work daily with my bike and it’s nice how you can directly save activities automatically to strava and apple health with one tap after finishing workout.

Best app available - full head unit replacement!

Pro tip: put your phone on low power mode and you’ll get several hours of use without a spare battery.

Love RunBikeTracker! I tried every app out there and this one beats them all hands down. Awesome device support, including Varia radar and Garmin watch heartbeat. I had questions for the developer and he responded same day and patched an issue I was having within a week.

With RunBikeTracker, I see absolutely no need to shell out for a dedicated head unit. I’d bring my phone with me anyway.

Five stars for Cadence!

It’s great to finally find a good-looking, easy to use cycling computer app with all the features I need in one place. Cadence is perfectly customizable and easy to use on the bike. RunBikeTracker easily integrates my Garmin Varia and Quark power meter. Data exporting works well too. I also emailed a feature request and got an email back from the developer. Sweet! Thanks for a super solid app with all the right features.

Excellent and worth purchasing

Been evaluating cadence for a couple months, and I like it. Looked at many others and their evaluation was totally crippled and they wanted a purchase to enable things like two sensors, etc. On the other hand, cadence eval allows heart rate, cadence (rotation rate of the pedal axis), and (ant+) speed (I use cycplus for speed and cadence, and moonfit for heart). I think it also self-calibrates the ANT+ speed sensor with GPS speed, so there’s no need to enter the wheel diameter. The only annoyance is to get more than just speed, you need to watch ads (maybe 30 seconds worth) which is just annoying enough, but also not abusive, to buy the cadence app. For these reasons, I think cadence is a “buy” (even with the yearly subscription) and rewards the developers for doing a excellent job in creating RunBikeTracker ! VERY happy with it, and I’ve looked at many other less capable apps!

Excellent app and customer service

My racing days are over. I wanted RunBikeTracker just for the cadence to keep my knees healthy for tennis. It worked gr8 a couple times; then the ad I needed to watch (for the free version) WOULDN’T GO AWAY. I tried everything—deleting, uploading, throwing my phone—I couldn’t close the game ads. After a particularly frustrating session, I reviewed RunBikeTracker and gave it a 1. It was easy to download, fix my settings, customize, and navigate; but if I couldn’t actually use it, what’s the point?🤷‍♀️
WELL, Ryan answered me immediately and spent the weekend coming up with possible solutions, and finally fixing it (at least, so far so good!) in communication with the server. AMAZING customer service, technical help, and respect for his users. I’d like to upgrade my 1 ⭐️rating to a 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️rating!!!!
I bought a Garmin cadence sensor 2 and was told by the retailer it wouldn’t work with Cadence app, and I needed to invest in an expensive interface. Not so—it now works gr8.
Thank you, Ryan!

Better than Buying a Dedicated Cycling Computer

I’ve been on the fence about buying a cycling computer for a while. I don't go on all-day rides, like having access to my phone to make sure I don’t miss an important call/text, and don’t kind the size of my phone mounted to my handlebars. The ability to customize the display in other popular routing and ride tracking apps had me feeling like I had to buy an expensive single purpose unit, though.

Then I found Cadence! The customization is AMAZING, it exports my rides to Strava, and allows me to load routes I’ve created in other platforms easily. I couldn’t be happier using Cadence on all my rides. For reference, I’ve also got cheap Bluetooth sensors for cycling cadence and heart rate that work flawlessly with RunBikeTracker.

Outstanding Bike Computer App with Exceptional Customization

I’ve been using Cadence for a while now and it’s become an integral part of my biking experience. The level of customization RunBikeTracker offers is unparalleled, making it incredibly versatile for riders of all levels. It’s evident that a lot of passion and thought has gone into its development.

The interface is user-friendly, and RunBikeTracker collects and provides a wealth of data that’s both accurate and easy to digest. Cadence has enhanced every aspect of my cycling.

A notable aspect is the developer’s responsiveness to feedback and their commitment to continuous improvement. Features like goals and intervals are on the horizon, adding even more value to an already fantastic app.

For anyone looking for a comprehensive bike computer app that goes beyond the basics, I highly recommend Cadence. It’s a game-changer in the world of cycling apps!

Well done!!!

Simple, easy to use, no excuses phone app as a bike computer.

Where big names like Strava and wahoo and even zwift haven’t been able to focus efforts and give riders what they want, RunBikeTracker and developer have done fantastic.

Tried it for free and was hooked. Well worth the upgrade cost to unlock heart rate and advanced customization such as customizing text color of each data category.

So far the only quirk I’ve seen is getting the Apple Watch to sync up; the faq discusses this and I suspect it’s a challenge related to watch , heart rate , and phone since it struggles some times on zwift companion (and broke completely on zwift companion currently). I’ll be trying some different connection steps (seemed like pressing start on the watch and keeping watch face “on” until sync occurred helped) but with a little patience (~ 1 minute) I’ve gotten connected every time I’ve used RunBikeTracker .

Thanks thanks thanks to the developer for such a great UI and app!!!
