Dynamic Suggested Pace for plans/Adidas train and run hybrid PLEASE!!

Love adidasTraining , ran 350 mile and lost 50lbs over 365 days in 2020. adidasTraining helped me reach my fitness goals for 2020 and I don’t plan on stopping in 2021. I used Adidas Train and Run before it was retired a few years back. Please use that model with the modern design and this will be a for sure 5star app.

Currently it’s a weak 4 star app and that is due to the lack of a personal feel. For instance, if I modify the interval paces manually to match my fitness level you know something like “normal” effort pace of 10-11 miles min, when I start the shape up plan the “suggested” pace for a slow run “suggest” 8:35 min/mile as a slow pace (blank face).. so the suggested pace is not reflected in what I manually adjusted in the interval pace selector. Adidas train and run did that. Why not runtastic take some features for the old and add to current? I will tell you I bet all the users will be extremely satisfied with that additional functionality and personal feel.

But all in all this is a good app none the less. Please keep making useful changes and I’m a user for the rest of this apps life span.

Well designed app, NOT for BEGINNERS

I use to be a gym-daily kinda person but stopped for years on end. Wanting to get back at it I've used adidasTraining now for somewhere around 2 months. adidasTraining is GREAT for those who are intermediate to expert level for exercising and have already built up muscles, but for the BEGINNER adidasTraining is a no-go. The biggest PROBLEM with adidasTraining is that there is almost NO BUILDUP to the “suggested workouts”. You will do relatively tame workouts, that may be three to four different exercises repeated by 3 or 4 sets, but then it goes 0-60 really fast. The next workouts adidasTraining will “suggest” will be DRAMATIC in more difficulty. Too the point of causing injury or soreness that’ll cause most beginners to most likely have to stop working out for a few days. Remembering back to some of my fitness instructors from the past they would not recommend this kind of app to a beginner, it advices to go way too hard immediately which is nothing more than a recipe for injury/soreness. Especially to those who have had no experience with some of the exercises. Would be great for an intermediate/expert level person though

Great App!

I haven’t even had adidasTraining for week and I find it so handy and helpful! I’m so so so glad adidasTraining is mainly free and the free parts are just what I was looking for! Since wrestling has ended and the gyms have closed I’ve been trying to find a workout plan without any equipment but I haven’t had any luck with it, and then I stumbled across adidasTraining. I love that you can “create” your own workout for a specific body part and that they recommend workouts based on the little quiz you take when first opening adidasTraining ! I do both the recommended workout which I find to be harder than the designed workout but that’s also probably because I said I wanted to build muscle. My wrestling coach wants me to build muscle but I don’t have any weights at home and I can’t find an HIIT workout that doesn’t have any weights involved or lasts 6 days. Your app has reallyyyyy helped with this so thank you for creating such an amazing, free app!

The Right Replacement

I stopped working out awhile ago, then when I tried to get back into it the original app I used, they changed the features: It wasn’t free, personalized workout plans were removed, and even looking at the paid part of adidasTraining it just didn’t compare to its previous version. So I spent a good amount of time trying other apps to see if they had a similar feel, but alas they didn’t.

That is—until I came across adidasTraining! adidasTraining, in a way, reminds me of the old version of the pervious app I used and adored. It’s safe to say that I’ll be using adidasTraining from-now-on, and maybe in the future I’ll buy into the membership!

Although, it would be nice if there was a way we could play music through adidasTraining , or they had a part of adidasTraining with pre-made playlists that could be connected through Apple Music. Other than that, it’s perfect for me!

Pretty good body weight training

Things I love about adidasTraining. Great tutorials that help me do the exercises properly. Customized work out based on my fitness level. A nice system for tracking my fitness. I have been looking for a body weight-based workout routine because I hate gyms and I don't want to buy a bunch of gear. This does that well!

Things I don't love about adidasTraining. adidasTraining itself is huge. Then it caches a bunch of video that cannot be deleted from your phone. This thing will seriously eat up space on your device. It's a bit slow and requires tons of button clicks to get even basic things done. adidasTraining could be streamlined and made so much more efficient. For example, when I am done with a work out let me go right to stretching. Don't make me go all the way through three tabs and start stretching from a totally new page. Finally, make all the buttons work. The only reason I am writing this review today is because I absolutely could not click no in adidasTraining . Shame on you and 3 stars instead of 4.

Great Workouts; Great App Support

I’m writing this review specifically because I was really impressed this week with my first email exchange with Runtastic’s app support team. A few things first though:

First of all, adidasTraining makes it easy to get started on a training plan. I love most the fact that I don’t need any special workout equipment, because if I did, I wouldn’t be morivated enough to make a habit out of it!

Second, I love the questionnaire at the beginning and end of the plan, each week, and each day’s exercise. And the fact that the training plans are customized for you and tweaked along the way to deliver achievable, measurable results.

I’m halfway into my second training plan, and I ran into a bug that wouldn’t allow me to “finish my week” and start the next week’s exercises. After emailing back and forth a couple times with Runtastic customer support, they opened up a ticket with their QA engineers. Within 1-2 days (including time zone differences) I received an email letting me know that they had pushed an update to their app that should fix that bug for me.

That’s pretty great support, and a fast turnaround to boot! So I thought it deserving of a review to share my good experiences so far with the Results app. :)

Thanks gents/ladies,
Jordan

Great App! One request.

I love adidasTraining! Just started using it seriously about 2 weeks ago and I am finally getting into a good routine. The workouts are short so I can fit them into my busy schedule but I still get a great burn and I’m definitely sweating throughout. Keeps me motivated and they’re simple to follow so far. Great design and looks sleek and professional.

ONE REQUEST: I wish there was a way to turn on a tone/sound rather than the voice for the timed portions of the stretches and exercises (20 sec plank, 30 sec child’s pose, etc) because I’m not great at counting and I don’t want to have to look at my phone constantly to know when the time is up. Especially for stretches so I can focus on winding down/enjoying the stretch and addressing my body rather than being worried about time. The voice is okay but takes away from the music I play on my phone while I’m working out.

Amazing Motivation!

I had tried other fitness apps but this one is definitely for me! Having gone through intense hardcore training HIIT workouts for time, this one is so convenient for time and overall time management. Anyone who lives and breathes can make time for these exercises. And not having to fuss with equipment and mats you can workout literally anywhere, I do it in the comfort of my living room and it’s become a wonderful habit. And being a bit competitive to beat my time helps significantly. So if you enjoy working out for time and trying to beat your time, will really help push you to the max. I’m in week 11 and have seen some nice ab carving and I have a two pack and almost can see a four pack forming! Who said abs are made in the kitchen, clearly has never tried adidasTraining?! So pumped!

Stopped support for a better Runtastic app

They stopped supporting, pretty much bricking adidasTraining , when everyone is stuck at home. I paid for the premium Runtastic 6-pad app, and the workouts for the core in adidasTraining are super badly designed.

1. You can’t work out with out staring at your phone, in the Runtastic app, the trainer counted aloud so you know how long to hold each flexing motion. Here your on your own, your pace has to be good from your own experience.

2. They give you a 30 second break, and then immodestly you have to get into position before the work out starts, the next work out only shows when the break is over. With the previous app, you can set the breaks to be shorter, and then it switches to the next workout. Then It tells you “get ready” and allows you to set up for 5 seconds. The issues is exacerbated when you have to get up and skip the 30 second break and re position yourself to get to the next exercise.

3. No customisation in workouts. In the previous app, you get to change the order of some things; Like doing one exercise on my left, then the next will be the same exercise on my right. Here you do one workout on your left side, and 4 workouts later you do it on tour right side. Remember also you get no set up time.

Im really disappointed with how Adidas did Runtastic and it’s users. I’ve used adidasTraining since 2014 and had amazing progress with my core.

Awesome. Not big into reviewing. ....

Okay, so I’ll be up front and this will sound like such a glowing review it sounds like I’m being paid to write it! Hehe....
I can’t say enough about adidasTraining. I have some suggestions and I will send to developer but in terms of workout, it’s fantastic. // sooooo easy to swipe up to next exercise and the workouts depending on ability take about 12 mins (for me). It’s like Crossfit without the weight lifting. Oops I think Crossfit® is a trademark. Hehe.... anyway. Just a great app. I’m actually using it, and in week 5 now. Burpees, push ups, jumping jacks. Reminds me of basic Royal Canadian Air Force workouts from the 70’s, but it works. And it doesn’t need any gadgets or anything other than body weight exercises. So far, so good. Awesome.

Too fast of a progression

I tried it a few months ago and input all of the test results. The first workout was great, I was able to complete it, but it still let me feeling like I did something. Then it got very hard on the second and third workout. I couldn’t complete either of those. I put it aside for a few months and reset the training plan. This time it just asked a few questions instead of having me test. I had the same problem, first workout was great, but I couldn’t do the next one. I tried to reset the plan to the easiest level, but could tell from the plan that i would have no more luck with that. It is the same plan, but with lower reps for the push ups. Runtastic, if someone is starting a workout plan from ground zero, the aren’t going to make progression after 1 workout. This plan probably works ok if you are regularly working out, but if you are a beginner, you should look elsewhere.

I’m frustrated with the app

I love the workout plan but what I’m so tired of is that it keeps stopping and saying that I need to subscribe again. Every time I try to subscribe, it says I’m already subscribed but I can’t use it because adidasTraining itself says that I need to subscribe. I’ve contacted Liz four different times in less than 6 months about this problem, and it is happening again just now. I am truly frustrated! I want to keep going with my work out plan and not start all over again and again because of adidasTraining ’s problem. I’m disappointed because it’s one of my favorite work out apps that I use frequently. I’ve tried to reset adidasTraining as well, nothing!! Please can you help me not going through this again!! Please! Also, Liz only emails once a day in the middle of the night and that is frustrating as well because it’d take a whole week to fix the problem, which means I’d miss a full one week of work out.

Great app

adidasTraining was great to get me into a regular fitness routine. It takes away all the excuses. No need for equipment, what you look like or to drive anywhere...just open it up and go! It is a great way to get your body and heart conditioned to a regular routine! I especially like that it has you do a warmup and cool down stretching which is important so you don’t feel too sore for the next session. I started this in my late 30s and used it consistently for over a year. If you eat properly and do this 3-5 times a week you WILL see results! adidasTraining has you take progress pictures so you can see your results (which you do not have to share if don’t want, I didn’t). After a year and half, I was ready to switch up to free weights and training with a trainer but still use adidasTraining for when I want to do a timed workout.

Liked the old runtastic apps in addition to this.

This review is 1 star because I had previously purchased a few years ago all of the pro versions of the runtastic apps. I just got a new phone and was hoping like with every other app available to simply download the ones I had previously purchased. However they are not available? Now I need to make more purchases it seems in the new adidas versions in addition to what I already paid or previously. I would be happy to do so if the other apps were available they are good supplements to these workouts but when I set a goal for push-ups or squats or whatever, in the old apps it was great and the program built you up to that goal. I now don’t have access. What a shame, and waste of my money, time, and resources. If adidas runtastic can’t respect that then I don’t see why it would be reasonable to purchase anything on the newer platforms.

Perseverance Pays Off!!!

I'm in my 43rd week and loving it! Sure it's hard. But man, is it worth it!! Along with my diet and tips from Runtastic, I went from 222lbs and a size 36" waist down to 174lbs and a 32" waist! I'm now at 180lbs and the gain has been all muscle. I feel fantastic and I no longer have chronic lower back pain due to a herniated disc. My neurosurgeon told me to start exercising before he would consider putting me under the knife to see if my body could improve itself. Well, it worked. As I push myself daily through each exercise I feel my strength, stamina and posture improve. I look better than I did when I was in the Army years ago! Go for it! Do it! Feel better than you think you can.

Excellent App Overall but needs fine tuning

Overall I find adidasTraining to be great and helpful with my regular running. Several weeks ago I started the half marathon training plan which has really helped inspire me and motivate me and keep me accountable to achieving my goal.

I would like to see some improvements, however. I would like to see adidasTraining keep track of my pace during individual intervals rather than just mile by mile. Also on interval days the music automatic shut off appears to be very wonky necessitating that I hold my phone to stop and restart music with each interval. I’ve also noticed that on some interval days there is absolutely no voice prompts to end and start individual intervals.

This app is changing my life

I planned to go back to the gym but have put it off from laziness, so I searched for tools to help me start up again to stay consistent. When I stumbled on his app I got really excited! Working out with Results is the best thing I’ve done for myself. After my first workout my body felt more energized and invigorated. I love the warm ups and how the timer tells you the length of time to workout and when to pause. I always had issues timing my workouts and I never took breaks in between. I love that when my workouts are going, I only have to listen to the timer rather than watch a video which is super distracting for me. Results gives me the best workouts at my pace!

Love this app!

I’ve spent years trying to find a workout app that I look forward to using. After each workout it asks you whether the workout was too easy, tough (in a good way), or too hard. It then used this info to modify the upcoming workouts in whatever plan you’re using. The workouts are easy to do at home and without equipment. The plans are formatted to fit your skill level and gradually get harder. Apart from a few glitches here and there I would absolutely recommend adidasTraining. After just a few weeks I already feel stronger and look forward to the next workout!

Good, but broken

I bought adidasTraining last year to help me stay in shape during the shutdown. I really like the variety of exercises included, and used it regularly. It could use some fresher content, but for the price it was a fantastic deal.

I say “was” because about a month ago I found I was unable to log into the TV app. The iOS app still worked fine, so I was able to continue using it… sort of. I contacted tech support, and was told: “After a thorough investigation, we have to inform you that our developers won’t be able to fix the problem in the near future.”

I like adidasTraining and will keep using it in its hobbled form, but be aware that there’s a potential login issue that the developers don’t plan to fix. Two stars off for that. Buyer beware.

Apple Watch move calories

This is a great app that I’ve been using for workouts and for recording my workout statistics with Apple Watch. However, after each workout, only the exercise minutes are sync’ed with apple’s activity, but not the calories. For example, in the activity app, it shows I burned 240 calories while working out with the Adidas training app, but in my daily movement ring, it only shows 80 calories (mostly likely from other minor activities). It means the calories burned with the Adidas training app do not get recorded by the activity app. Can you please help me look into this? I’d really like my workouts being recognized by my Apple watch and the Apple activity app. Thanks!

A Fitness Coach in your Tablet

I’m so grateful I found adidasTraining! I don’t have the time or money to go to the gym, and I get bored easily with the same repetitive workouts at home every day. And, I know how important changing your exercise pattern is to success. In 20 minutes a day, (You can choose longer workouts, if you wish.)I get a customized exercise plan that I can easily change by telling adidasTraining if my workout was too easy, too hard, or just right. I can choose a workout plan that will take me through a few weeks, or target individual body parts with specific workouts. I tell everyone about adidasTraining. It has truly been my saving grace for getting back into shape!

Good workouts, UI needs work

Overall I really like adidasTraining . Getting the chance to try out adidasTraining , I can say it isn’t really worth a subscription. A one-time fee sure (I would pay $10 for it) but unless adidasTraining was tremendously innovative and updated weekly it doesn’t offer much.

It also has an annoying feature where, if you haven’t watched the instructional video yet, you can watch it in the middle of the workout, but the workout keeps going without you. So many times the workout has moved on while I’m watch the video, and adidasTraining doesn’t let you go back after each step.

Thank you for all the workouts, but Results is very similar to the other Runtastic apps with a sort of “fresh coat of paint,” and added bugs.

Great app

With 2 children, and commuting to work...ended with little time to go to the gym. This in-home exercise program helps. I have my personal couch pushes me.

I like that it stores my progressive pictures. It also has some interesting articles to read...understand nutrition and how to lose weight properly.

I don’t mind that adidasTraining asked how I felt after each workout. It is like real personal trainer concerns of my wellbeing. And it made me see how hard of the exercise I can do. I like how it plans my exercise base on what level I’m in. As each week progresses, the level gets tougher. The toughest that I did, 75 burpees. I really pushed myself and I did it. It was hard but felt great afterward.

Glad I found this program.

Week 5 day 1 Feb 5th ‘18.
However, I don’t like how it wouldn’t record my workout if I had to quit at mid of the program. It will be great if they put that feature in, instead of having to restart the day or fast forward that really didn’t help me track my progress.

Good in concept but....

Using AI to try to make workouts closer to personalized without paying a human trainor is a great concept. However, the execution leaves some significant issues, exacerbated by no ability to contact a human to ask questions, even via email. For example, it appears that if you manage to complete your weekly goal earlier than expected, you have to wait until the next week to do the next step in the plan. You could just keep changing the “goal”, but then that’s not an actual goal, that’s just a filter. How silly. Perhaps there is a way of advancing the program, but it’s not covered in the prewritten questions available and, again, there’s apparently absolutely no customer service. There are much better apps out there that are considerably more practical and functional (eg nike, skimble’s workout trainer, fitbit’s coach).

5stars because it works

Update: I've come back to results for my third full 12 week plan. I'm now 181 lbs and 23% body fat.

Prior post: I'm 30yo and prior to starting I was 198lbs (at 5'11") and 30% body fat as measured by Fitbit's Aria scale. I'm through 8weeks of training (10 weeks actual time) and I'm currently 191lbs and 25% body fat. I've seen improvements in my athletics, feel healthier, and even received compliments from others about improved physic.

Note: I did run a half marathon and complete the Savage Race in the time I was doing the premium workout plan. I also have been using MyFitnessPal to monitor nutrition.
