App works fine when you follow instructions
I have an iPhone X and did not experience any of the issues seen in some of the reviews. I downloaded the app, setup an account via the app and once I logged in, I just followed the prompts to add my air filter. YOU HAVE TO BE ON A 2.4GHZ network. It tells you this in the app and paper instructions. If you have a dual band router, your phone will likely be on 5 ghz (if it’s not super old) and you will encounter issues. I tested this myself and couldn’t connect until my phone was actually connected to a 2.4ghz network. It’s not enough to have the ability to add a new device on 2.4, your phone needs to be connected to 2.4 at the time you set it up. App has worked flawless for me and I have not had any issues what’s so ever.

Low Data Mode
Okay so I purchased 2 of these. Let me cut to the chase. I couldn’t get the first one connected I tried many times changed routers moving it close to the router. Nothing. I read somewhere to change the winix to lower data mode once your phone is connected to it in the setup mode and then wait until the phone switches to the WiFi radio buttons. (Just because it’s checked doesn’t mean it connected yet, wait for radio signal) Then you return to the app and you will then get the option to add it to your router. Make sure you use the 2G option 5G won’t work. I hope this helps everyone.

Had problem but fixed it
I had problems trying to connect to the WiFi network. After I tried 15 several times, I figured out what the problem was. Just follow the app prompt procedure until you get to the home WiFi network, connect to your home WiFi by putting your password manually. It doesn’t do automatically. You just need to type your password in once you are connected. Then you’re set to go. I am just trying to help out. Hopefully this helps someone with the troubleshooting. Thanks. This is one of the best decisions I ever made by buying this purifier.
