fine if you believe anecdotal data and can be brainwashed

The exercises are okay- sometimes the sensors are not correct and can’t tell that I am standing up. One exercise had incorrect directions.

But my real problem is with the “Education” portion of the program. The articles are based on anecdotal data and are designed to brainwash you into think... Show more

Needs to be Expanded

The program works fine until you reach level 40. It took me about 5 months to get there. Then all progress stops. You are stuck on level 40 with the same 10 exercises and reps. As has been mentioned, there needs to be a maintenance aspect which rotates through various exercises after level 40. <... Show more

Ok, but...

The exercises are helpful but HingeHealth could use some improvements:

-It doesn’t have landscape mode functionality. I prefer using it on my iPad ( propped up on keyboard in landscape mode) or connecting my device to a TV. Needing to twist my neck to look at it sideways leaves me ( litera... Show more

Good overall

I have done the knee and shoulder/neck programs. HingeHealth is good and the therapy approach is good. It’s not a perfect substitute for a trained physical therapist or pain medicine specialist because it can’t observe and analyze you and make a customized therapy plan, but it can be a good follow... Tiny steady improvement

I had knee pain every day, which lead to ankle pain and then hip and back pain as I compensated for the troublesome knee. My insurance sent an email and then a brochure about Hinge, so I applied. A few weeks later my insurance was approved and I committed to spending 3 days and 10 minutes a day t... Show more

Life-changing

I started Hinge Health in February 2021 as a last resort. I am missing three pieces of cartridge on my knee and was on a daily prescription medicine for pain. I also had a synthetic joint fluid injection to try and help. The orthopedist said I’d be a candidate for knee replacement in 10-15 years (I... Show more

Hinge health

I’ve been doing hinge health for about a year now. I started with the hip program. I was having bad hip pain from running. One of my legs is a little shorter than the other. The hinge health program eased me into some great exercises at my own pace to strengthen areas I needed strengthened. The su... Show more

Using it for about a year

I think this program is worth it for anyone experiencing any muscle pain. Whether it’s in your neck or your ankles, they really can work if you’re willing to be patient and slowly improve over time. It’s the only proven way to change anything about your body for the long term. Discipline, patience... Show more

Great but wish it would continue

The Hinge neck program has been great. I first thought that the easiness of the exercises was because they don’t know the degree of your injury or chronic pain, but it’s really just to get you moving and progressing. The exercises never really got too much harder but they certainly worked the suppo... Show more

The road to recovery is now the Hinge Health app!

After a botched arthroscopy (and a second surgery to correct the first), my right knee had been painful and swollen, with limited range of motion for over twenty years. After a recent visit to an orthopedist, I learned that I have the onset of arthritis in this knee.

The Hinge Health App an... Show more

It changed my Life!!!

I’ve been on hinge health for about 7 months now and it’s changed my life. I have a wonderful coach who encourages me to keep up the good work. I’m active again. And with me being active, I was able to loss some weight, and all I did was my stretches 3-5 days a week and only took me 10 mins a day .... Show more

It really helps!

Sometimes we don’t realize how our pain keeps us from moving and how by NOT moving we are contributing more to our pain. Now, with Hinge, when I have that terrible ache and tightness at the end of my work day, instead of sitting down or laying down and wincing in pain- I will do my Hinge exercises... Show more

App to Grow and Recover

I have constant back pain problems among other areas, but back is the worst. Through my employer in Jan 2021 I was able to start this program with a health coach, sensors & app. Wow! Who knew??? A short exercise focused on back issues, even shorter article to read and 15 minutes later I’m on my... Show more

Extremely helpful

I’ve loved using HingeHealth. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding the right exercises to help strengthen my back. HingeHealth slowly builds up the difficulty of various strengthening exercises and puts in stretches that release tension either didn’t know I was carrying around or that I didn’t kno... Show more

Three weeks in, it’s a great program

You know the problem with exercise regimens, you need to be motivated to actually do it. Hinge Health makes it easy to get started with easy exercises that only take a few minutes a day, then gradually increasing time and complexity. You are paired with a coach who communicates via text, so it’s ... Show more

Well guided workout with good results

I have been using HingeHealth consistently for a few months. I’m doing the “neck” workout. The workout is 5-8 exercises, guided by a rhythmic tone. I start the exercise and close my eyes to follow the tones. Becomes almost meditative for me. This is not a cardio workout- but focused on flexibility... Show more

Getting better!

My neighbor and I talked in January about our New Years resolutions. We both experience daily neck or back pain. Listing mine I started to say I wanted to be free of pain. I had to “do something.” He told me he had just started Hinge and how he was improving his range of motion and getting a lot o... Show more

My recent experience with my coach and also with my Physical Therapist

I found HH extremely easy to incorporate in my daily exercise routine. It takes 10-15 minutes to complete and starts the day on the correct foot. The coach Erica is extremely supportive and knowledgeable. I had a lower back injury 5 days ago. She was able to guide me through and arranged a physical... Show more

It is better than going to PT

I have gone to physical therapy and down hinge health. In my opinion, hinge health is much more personal and custom than attending a physical therapy clinic. For me, it is very stressful to drive, interact with strangers, do exercises in front of other strangers in a large PT area. I think plhusica... Show more

Great app

HingeHealth is amazing! While it’s me at to help folks with severe back pain and issues I was not in that category. My issue was general tightness and discomfort in my back which I could not stretch away. HingeHealth with the guided workouts that progress as you do the work has been great for me.... Show more

Not at all impressed. Exercises were okay, the goofy cartoon animation constantly smiling through painful exercise was ridiculously annoying, but what I despised most of all were the stupid "education articles" at the end of each segment discounting the need for real medical advice and attempting t... Very disappointed with the Hinge Health program. I was put on lower back pain program. Although advertised as customizable, I was informed that I should skip exercises that were impossible to do, e.g., a standing quad stretch, which for me was impossible since I couldn't bend my leg (spasticity a...
