Very limited, almost not useful at all

For people who use Confluence with their teams, this is not a useful app. Though the desktop browser experience of Confluence is buggy and the mobile browser is poor, ConfluenceDataCenterServer omits almost everything useful about Confluence:
- it does not update pages in ConfluenceDataCenterServer when server pages are edited
- you can’t use any of the page templates to create new pages
- page editing lets you enter text, lists, and bold/italic only. No @ or [ or // references, no linking at all, inserting tables, adding pictures, indenting, adding table rows, etc. Even on an iPad with a keyboard. It’s useless for taking meeting notes.
- Most widgets on pages don’t work: search boxes, Task Canvas, Gilphy graphics, etc. everything is replaced with a “view desktop version” button that takes you out to the browser, where you’ll end up staying. At that point why have an app?

They say this is the start and more will come. Sadly this is a long way from being a useful collaboration tool. If all you need is a quick look at your favorite pages that other people update and you can comment on, it might work for you.

Poor UX

This applies to the web version and ConfluenceDataCenterServer alike: Confluence is a complete UX mess. The WYSIWYG editor is the deranged little brother of the excellent Google Docs, many buttons in Confluence are on the wrong place in the wrong flow and the apps have different features from the web version. Generally Confluence is the pinnacle of slowness and patience is needed to prevent smashing your keyboard or mobile device through the window.
I absolutely hate, hate, hate Confluence but unfortunately in its goals it’s the best we have, and it happens to be our standard tool.
Atlassian must have a very lazy or ineffective group of people, more interested in raising prices of their cloud subscriptions and not providing quality software.

Just awful

It’s not even good at being able to keep us logged in. Especially when there ja a single Signon. It’s just awful that we need togo through painful process every single time to login. Why can’t it just remember the credentials like the browser does.

When writing pages, the fonts mess it up so much I almost always have to go to HTML editor on desktop to fix it.

It is just hard to get pages that we saved or were editing before. Not one thing I find useful or properly working in ConfluenceDataCenterServer.

Not sure what this even brings to the table...

I went thru a whole mess of things to expose my atlassian stack through my firewall. In the end I have access to everything behind a reverse proxy. I can get to it from my iPad Pro with chrome just fine.

I then fired up ConfluenceDataCenterServer and wanted to see what great things I got with it...nothing really. I’m completely disappointed.

The rendering is just like mobile view, except I can’t switch to desktop view. It lays out the data different...not very good for on the road updates with any formatting.

After about 15 minutes of poking around, I decided I have everything I need using just chrome.

Deleting ConfluenceDataCenterServer to save space...

If this is a iteration of a bigger idea, then tell me. But if so, your MVP is off. Tell me when you have something I’d use.

Enterprise version now supported

As of early 2019 an Enterprise version compatible with ConfluenceDataCenterServer has now been released, and it seems to work so far. I hope in the future the requirements from ConfluenceDataCenterServer side do not outpace the Enterprise releases, particularly as companies may not be the quickest to upgrade to latest released versions!

Good, not perfect

I wish we could save multiple instances and switch between the two. I also wish there was a way to browse anonymously. Still kind of limited to the stock page elements, but I’m sure developers will start updating their add-ins to work with ConfluenceDataCenterServer soon enough.

Just Confluence app for basic collaboration need

In a meeting people were discussing a design issue that was documented on a confluence page. I was able to open the confluence page in the confluence app using link in my iPhone email and make a few edits real quick. Interface was clean.

Barely any editing tools

Would be great for this to be more for editing (especially on an iPad) in addition to viewing.

As far as reviewing goes, supporting deep linking would go a long way.

Excellent UI Interface

Love the way your presentation of information and user interface. It enables me to keep informed with updates. I can easily add comments and view changes in real time.

Amazing product

Confluence is an amazing product but the mobile app needs important features such as uploading files for example and other features which enables it more useful.

Those $10 bucks go a long way!!

Setup a confluence server at home, love it! Found ConfluenceDataCenterServer, so much nicer than the phone website version.

Great documentation center for my homelab.

Thanks!

Cartograham

This is an app that people have been waiting for long time. In general, it works and is pretty good for a mobile app. But a lot of features are still gimped

Utterly useless, negative stars

Why is confluence mobile completely useless?
One example:
Pagetree doesn’t work, so I can’t see the subpages for any page. This is a key feature and one my team uses all the time.
Would be better to not have an app at all.

No search ?

I only installed it so I can search and it doesn't have a search function!

Works very well. Thank you !

Seamless integration with our server.

By

Useless

Has an icon for a bullet list but you can’t increment and decrement. You can’t mention others using @ and can’t add action items with checkboxes. Severely lags behind confluence cloud.

App crashes in almost any occasion

Absolutely unfinished app from an IT giant. Crashes almost in any occasion.

Sailor’s cove

I don’t understand how this is going to help us with our job. We have had no training on this so who knows if I am doing it right.

Need blog post

Good bare bones starter app. Look forward to the upgraded versions that are surely coming. Thanks

By

Clunky

Still at least 2 years behind other software apps

Garbage!

Enter the server url. Ok. Then enter credentials, app crashes. Compatibility issue with the latest version of Confluence? Who knows. App doesn’t specify requirements. Just a crash. Get it together Atlassian!

Absolutely the worst

The only thing I can get out of ConfluenceDataCenterServer is that there’s an unspecified error. All the time. It’s completely unusable.
