One of the best work apps!

Honestly love ConfluenceCloud! I use it way more than any of my other work apps. It’s super useful and intuitive and I use it to stay on top of all my readings.

It’s pretty impressive how they took a really complicated technical product like Confluence and made it so simple for users on such a small screen! It’s like they knew exactly what I would want and they only made the most useful features available.

Also, Dark Mode is fantastic!! Makes it way easier to read at night.

Very good, and always improving

As someone who works at Atlassian, I have to rely on ConfluenceCloud more than the average Confluence user (that’s also a disclaimer that I work at Atlassian). That being said, we use Confluence like you wouldn’t believe.. so much open sharing and collaboration of ideas, research, project plans, and more.

The mobile app has started to take on the feel of the desktop experience. It’s easy to see what I’ve recently worked on and viewed. When I tap on different features, ConfluenceCloud is aware of where I’ve been, and is presenting my data intuitively more and more.

So, to the point of my review title — it’s always improving.. release by release. Navigating through ConfluenceCloud is simple. The pages and spaces presented are relevant. Woot!

I’ll send my feature requests via app feedback.

I am an Atlassian evangelist!

I have been using Atlassian products for 11 years. Atlassian has helped me to create order out of chaos for a number of my clients. Their products have helped me turn poor performing security programs into well oiled, agile teams. This gives me the opportunity to build a security program that complements the agile SDLC and creates a culture that supports security, not one that is reviled by developers.

Missing Native Features

The native Team Calendar isn’t available on mobile apps, which for some users may be the main reason why they would check Confluence on their phones: in order to check a team schedule on-the-go without having to whip out your work laptop or printing out the ever-changing schedule, just to waste paper.

Please add this crucial, native feature! If it’s native, it should be supported everywhere, not just where it’s easiest/most convenient for your devs. Thank you! Otherwise it’s a great, useful app!

Poor editing experience and aggressive cache

If you plan to use ConfluenceCloud for your iPad save yourself the frustration. The editor is not even close in terms of features or layout. Even on tablet displays it still presents as if it’s on a narrow phone. Images don’t size correctly and the layout is inconsistent from the web version.

Also ConfluenceCloud very aggressively caches everything. Pages I know I have updated on the web still show up as pervious versions in ConfluenceCloud . Even after swipe/pulling down to refresh the page in ConfluenceCloud it still shows the old content.

Not even close

I’ve been a heavy confluence user for several years. My software company uses much of the Atlassian suite for day to day productivity. As I’ve transitioned from a Mac book to an iPad Pro at work I find myself not able to be as productive. Largely because of the confluence app. True editing capabilities are nonexistent! Certain work automatically routes you to the web version (which renders even worse than the mobile). Never mind calendars. Linking to spaces or pages takes you nowhere. I realize I might be the rare user and not whom ConfluenceCloud is intended, but I couldn’t be more disappointed in this one. And don’t even ask me about JIRA for the ipad.

Fixed - Unable to open articles from search

The one thing I attempt to currently use ConfluenceCloud for is searching for and sharing links to articles for my coworkers. At the moment, when I search for articles they appear, but when tapped to open they just blink from the tap and don’t open. Makes ConfluenceCloud practically useless for me at the moment.

You can’t link anything

Unless I’m missing something, I can’t actually insert a link to a web page or another Confluence doc. What?! Confluence is a wiki. Wiki’s are made up of links between pages. What in the actual heck, Atlassian?

Also, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I don’t want to hit the Share icon twice just to copy a link to a page. 99% of the time I hit share I want to copy the link or share it to Slack, but instead I get some weirdo built in mail client. My heart hurts. Why must you forsake me for wanting to actually use ConfluenceCloud for work.

Well designed

Superb integration with the cloud web based product and the phone app. Atlassian is like “Nike” with their shoes helping superstars perform great feats. Highly recommend this collaboration product. The cloud version is free for three team members to try it out.

You need non-authenticated access to server... what!?

I wish I could try ConfluenceCloud. I give it 2 stars because of it's strange security practice but not 1 star because I'm hopeful that this could be fixed.

ConfluenceCloud requires that the confluence server allows for un-authenticated request to initiate log-on. This is a non-starter for my (and I believe many other's) IT departments. Non-authenticated requests would be a data leakage that "bad guys" could use to attempt to compromise the system.

Many other systems that require info about a server would first authenticate then communicate the details that the client needs. I wish the Confluence app would do the same.

The web implementation of Confluence is totally broken for iPAD. I had high hopes for ConfluenceCloud, but until this gets fixed, I'll be stuck remoting into a desktop machine from the iPAD to edit confluence pages.

Looks good, lacks most editing functionality

The UI is great, but virtually all editing options you’ll find in a desktop browser are missing or unimplemented. No idea why; adding a button for numbered lists, or table support, or horizontal rules, or image/file attachments (for instance), doesn’t seem difficult, and I’m not sure how this got out the door without the full set of editing options. Hopefully this is coming in future versions.

Buggy af and borderline useless

I’ve consistently regretted downloading ConfluenceCloud over using confluence on the mobile web browser, even though it’s not much better. You can’t zoom or read many of confluence’s own content formatting types. Need to view a table with more than a 3 columns? Get your microscope. Need to view a macro? FUGGETABOUTIT. Editing permissions? Don’t even think about it. Want to view in landscape? I hope you don’t have epilepsy because get ready for the strangest side view / screen-flashy buggy rave party you’ve ever seen. Back to the drawing board, folks!

Really Nice app

I just started using ConfluenceCloud. This is really nice app and would recommend for everyone for creating their own spaces and documentation. It comes with the free of 2 GB, but f we are out of it, we need to upgrade to standard which gives 250GB, it will be huge for very small organizations. If they offer the feature based on the usage of GIG it will be really nice.

Too much going on

ConfluenceCloud is convenient but limited to actually doing something from ConfluenceCloud . Aside from getting notifications/updates, there are so many things going in ConfluenceCloud and different places to tap, that I’m left wondering what does it really do besides send notifications? If that’s all ConfluenceCloud can do then it should be simplified and not have all of these places to tap and navigate to that still limit what I can do. Truth be told, this seems more like a one star.

Better experience but room for improvement

The new page view that allows users to get a glimpse into Jira Smartlinks is fantastic! I do wish there were increased editing features (e.g. adding/removing table rows/columns).

I also wish there was a more seamless navigation experience (e.g. leveraging the file path at the top of the page).

I cannot pick up where I left off

I would love to be able to access the unpublished changes that I was working on from my desktop computer via the mobile app. The mobile app lets me know which spaces I was recently working in, however none of my recent, unpublished changes are available upon clicking “Edit” in the top right hand corner. Now I have to make a trip to the office on a Saturday just to hit the “submit” button. 🙃

Useless for editing.

I was extremely excited for the official, iPad Pro-friendly native app.. until I decided to write a new page. The UI only allows for a few formatting options, and does *not* support styles, tables, or other fancy-pants stuff you're expecting from the webapp. I'm sure they're aware of this is a major deficiency and are working on it for a future release, but in the meantime, it's a solid release of not nearly enough.

Just de-list this broken app

Confluence is terrible and I recommend using anything else. The website is just bad and ConfluenceCloud is even worse. We have one space with a lot of listings, it only loads down to the R’s so you can’t even see all the entries.

Can’t move a page from mobile, the website is the only way to do most things and is totally unusable on mobile. I wish I could give this awful app zero stars, and am actively petitioning management to find a better system.

Add Action Items feature

It would be so critically and specifically useful if there were a tab for action items on the main access bar . People could do the smaller task items and performances that are smaller than ones in Jira and get recorded in Confluencd

Very smooth

Just like the Jira iOS app as well: very clean, intuitive, and capable. It’s clear Atlassian put some thought into this. Well done!

Fantastic mobile reading and solid editing

ConfluenceCloud works great. Images render neatly in the mobile view and text is flowed well for reading. Editing works well and all basic text features including bullet and number lists, rich text, etc all work well. Comments are fast, page Like works fine. You can't create a table on mobile yet–hopefully that's coming soon–and obviously web-based macro add-ons can't be included very well in the native mobile edit view, but otherwise the other negative reviews are either ill-informed or erroneous.

Cannot switch between projects

I use Confluence and Jira heavily in my work, and I’ve recently started using an iPad pro for meetings and basic project management tasks. I manage multiple products for different clients and Jira allows me to easily switch between instances but Confluence requires that I log completely out, back in, then select which instance I want to work in. Please fix and provide functionality like the Jira mobile app.

Issues login in and staying logged in

While this new version has some pretty cool features they’re opaqued by the annoyance of being kicked out of ConfluenceCloud every couple of hours. Why can’t the session simply stay? I never used to have these problems but now using it is very difficult.

If this keeps up it’ll be more convenient to use the web version and delete ConfluenceCloud.
