I would give it negative stars

NextGenPatientPortal is terrible. It is the most complicated design I have ever encountered, and it has the least amount of information of any patient portal I have ever used. This is the opposite of what a patient portal should be. It is frustrating to have a login and absolutely nothing worthwhile to look at. It can’t even send you a notification properly. When you click on inbox with notifications, it lets you click on the notification then it takes you to your whole medical record. You then click through every tab, which has nothing in it. After you have spent 5 minutes clicking through everything, you walk away wondering what the notification even was. I am deleting NextGenPatientPortal . They wasted money on NextGenPatientPortal. The developers should give them their money back. My real rating is -5stars.

This app is Unuseable, unstable and who paid for this?

Being forced to use this piece of absolute garbage app from the largest healthcare provider in my state is maddening. Start with the layout itself. Is this 2022 or 2000? That’s even if you can get into it. AN UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURRED. Every time you touch it. That is unless you completely shut your phone down, then restart you can log in ONCE before ERRORS stop you. My college kid could create a better, safer app which leads to the question-whoever lobbied to buy NextGenPatientPortal within your medical organization should be fired or questioned as to why. Other options exist. Except for the patient.

It tries but really needs more!

I don’t use NextGenPatientPortal very often but I wish I could. I just don’t open it because it really isn’t that intuitive to do simple things like schedule an appointment. There are fields to fill out that sometimes you start on it only to realize you’re in the wrong section. Hmm. Then in the Inbox for example, the messages take ages to load (by the standards of other apps!) and u have to actually go within a msg to delete it which has a lag time also. I don’t know. It’s heart is in the right place but it needs work!

Easy access

I don’t always have access to my computer when on the go and it’s nice that I can pull up everything on my phone wherever I am. I’ve seen some reviews that state it’s hard to navigate. I honestly don’t think so. You click on the buttons it states exactly what the webpage looks like and I would say a bit more organized to me that is. I love it!

Mobile Portal Terrible!

Why bother? I just started going to a community medical office that uses this platform for their portal. I was surprised to find such a poor overall design. There’s no excuse for it especially with how far technology has come today. The developers haven’t even gone as far as to update NextGenPatientPortal for the newer iPhones that fill the whole screen. The text size is way too big and overall NextGenPatientPortal itself is slow and clunky like an old car. Get it together! If only the office used my chart instead, it’s phenomenal and this company has a lot to learn from the markers of MyChart.

“Mikey” likes it!

I haven’t had the problems I have noticed others have. I’ve requested refills, appointments, received lab results etc. with very few problems. That being said I would give it another star if all the doctors I have (c)would use it. Note: I did have to express once, to each of my doctors, to please release/post lab results. Yes, it did take a little time to get used to using it. But hey, being over 70 it takes me more time to getting used to anything new.

-5 stars, should be winner of Trash Application Of The Year Award.

Yes, NextGenPatientPortal is a complete and total piece of garbage. Whether it's the web version or iOS version, garbage garbage garbage. Nothing is up to date, messaging doesn't work, can't request prescription refills. In other words nothing works . I've talked to my Doctor about this and he is just as frustrated and has the same opinion as I do. NextGenPatientPortal has so much potential and could make it so much easier for both patient and the provider if only it simply worked.

App Hasn’t Worked Since Installed

I installed NextGenPatientPortal after changing physicians and was gave NextGenPatientPortal information. I installed it approximately two weeks ago and it has never functioned once. I signed up online first and created my account and installed NextGenPatientPortal afterwards. Every time I attempt to login to NextGenPatientPortal it does absolutely nothing.
I am not sure how any developer would create an app over two years ago, have nothing but real negative reviews along with a few fake 5 star reviews written by the developers and/or their friends and family and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO FIX NextGenPatientPortal !

Would give negative stars if I could

I have used some pretty user unfriendly apps, but this is possibly the worst. Ever. There is no way to contact these people for help or app support either. Absolutely shameful. I was able to use this on the web browser ONCE before being locked out due to multiple browser sessions (untrue, I logged out of the ONE I had going on my phone app) and now I am unable to both use NextGenPatientPortal AND the web browser and unable to contact anyone for support. Would not recommend.

Buffing and crash

Wish I had the original portal because this one is terrible. I sent a email to my doctor had to wait a few seconds before it was sent, then I wanted to delete all emails on there at once I couldn't I had to do it one and a time dating back last yr. I try not to go on there because of the way it is. Wish they was better and caring knowing people use this especially with this virus going round 😑

Helpful but.....

Great to have a connection to my doctor to ask questions. They currently are unable to connect their blood test equipment to the portal without some conversion process. Results in blood test reports 2-3 weeks later than the test date. Also, it would be most helpful to be able to save my credentials and either access with a pin or fingerprint. I am using 4 different doctor portals for different practices and I am constantly looking up credentials. This is not helpful.

Helpful when it works

NextGenPatientPortal is great when it actually shows up. However, I’ve noticed more often than not when I open NextGenPatientPortal it is a blank screen that just doesn’t go away. I have to delete the entire app, redownload, and then it works. EVERYTIME. SO FRUSTRATING. Other than that I’ve used it a lot to talk to my doctor, check appointments, health records, medications, and a lot more. Please just fix the bugs and it would be a solid app

Do not recommend

It looks like their website was recently updated to improve security. However the bloodwork section is gone. I am pregnant and get blood drawn every time I go to the doctor. How can I access there results on the portal now? I downloaded NextGenPatientPortal thinking it was going to be easier to navigare since the website is quite confusing but NextGenPatientPortal does not look like your typical App it is a replica of the website and navigates the same exact way. Poor design, functionality broken

It’s nice to be able to access my nextgen in a mobile app, but could you please throw more than $20 and a ham sandwich at hiring a developer?

The design is barely thought out (example: home screen view of upcoming appointments shows full title going off the screen, but not date) and useful functionality is broken (add appointments to calendar, for instance).

Bad design

No place to change my phone number associated with my account. Old enrollment used my land line. Now that I am using only mobile I can’t change it. I had trouble logging in with a new provider link because I had to remember my land line number. Okay I remembered so thought I could change it in NextGenPatientPortal . No dice! Can’t change it in the web version either. Who can change it?

Awful signup - terrible app / system

5 question login instead of using an authentication app or 2 factor. Who the heck knows what their kindergarten phone number was. Make life more difficult, by allowing us access and making it a chore to access. I use other medical providers who use other systems and this is beyond bad. It’s like they got the lowest bidder to sub out to the lowest bidder.

Absolutely Horrible App

As someone with MANY medical problems I have several portals for different doctors. This one is absolutely useless. I have no idea how you actually refill scripts because I can choose what I need to refill but no way to submit it. NextGenPatientPortal tells you nothing and is a waste of time energy and frustration. Either make it a user friendly app that actually works or get rid of it all together.

Doesn’t Work

NextGenPatientPortal worked for me for about a week and then stopped loading. When I launch it now there’s just a white screen. This is really concerning considering NextGenPatientPortal handles medical records. I checked to see if there were any updates and there aren’t any. NextGenPatientPortal just doesn’t work. And neither does the website

Wicked out of date. Needs a lot of help

NextGenPatientPortal needs revamped. Bad. Doesn’t fit full screens low resolution. Click on meds and it doesn’t show then find meds in other areas and then I can send for refill. Hard on the eyes. Please revamp soon because this is realllly out of date compared to other patient access apps and sites.

Could it be any cheaper?

Functional but that’s about it. For example, Inbox count doesn’t decrease until you read a message. There is no Mark As Read and no checkbox. I found 17 items in my inbox. Had to read each one, some were invoices etc. Very poorly done and a bad reflection on my wonderful doctor, I’m sorry to say.

Bad portal design

Whether on laptop or mobile.
Ok for communicating with dr office, but not too user friendly vs other patient portal sites I’ve accessed. Most times need to ‘request health record’ for current update. (That label ‘record’ is misleading vs ‘update’. ) Which I’ve requested 3 times in past week and nothing yet. One would think it would access server and ..
wha la ? Update automatically? Results have shown ‘unknown’ from one link, accessed from another. Dates jump from 2016 back to 2014 back to 2017 and back to 2014 ... quite frustrating to navigate. Any filters?
Frustrating overall. Cannot on the site find a contact to voice opinion/question. A manual. Yep, there’s that for ‘help’. No bodies apparently. One would think they’d want to improve product. But hey... no complaints no problems?
And the online contact at the medical center ? Only if non portal questions. If portal issues points to doctor office. I think they may have more important things going on. Like patients. One star only for email. All else I need to call anyway.

This app is terrible

You can’t do 1/2 of what you can do in the website. Nine times out of ten when you send a request in for a prescription refill the doctor ever gets it. And now it won’t even open. I even deleted it and reinstalled it. I just wish my doctor would use different portal system.

Disappointing and cumbersome

NextGenPatientPortal is lackluster, at best. The general feel is old and crowded. I do not receive notifications when new information or a response is available. It needs to be updated and made more user friendly.

By

Disappointing and antiquated

I downloaded NextGenPatientPortal , it is reminiscent of an early generation app. It has not been formatted for the newer iPhone. The interface is clunky. It has a lot of wasted potential and can we talk about why NextGen isn’t interfacing with Apple Health?

Please, please lets bring NextGenPatientPortal to 2019 and make healthcare information easily and accessible to patients.

Terrible EHR layout and crashes constantly

This is a terrible healthcare / EHR app. It crashes over half the time - or just sits there and hangs. The EHR layout is an embarrassment to anyone who even remotely knows about healthcare or how to create an app - they must have outsourced (cheaply). It’s not presented in an easily readable way for a lay patient much less even an educated healthcare professional like myself. Plain awful.

Good App

NextGenPatientPortal works well to help you navigate your medical record, email your physician, review your laboratory history. Would like to have fingerprint identification to avoid recurrent logins

What NextGen says about themselves: "Through the Patient Portal Web Shortcut from NextGen Healthcare, you can communicate with your doctor, access medical records and test results, and request appointments and medication refills. When you use the Patient Portal Web Shortcut, you can communicate with your physician to stay on track with your care plans, monitor and share your health information, and request refills from within the app." None of this is true!

Password And Username trouble always. NEW password NEVER registers. This app has not run well for me. Currently locked out for about 10 minutes more due to numerous login attempts.

I've used the portal since 2016. It's 2022 and it's a confusing app still. My bane: Password never works, Username equally shy. Too much hassle, over done security, and not enough fixes or seamless processes. Currently I'm locked out of my account because I tried to sign in over the acceptable number of times (4). Sadly, this is the SOP for this portal and it shouldn't be. I like the convienance of Nextgen. Just wish it would work right. I do not recommend.
