Worst Banking App
I don’t even know where to begin or end but I must say this is the worst banking app ever. You go through a lot just to transfer money one and the next time the app doesn’t work and you have to start the process again. I could not transfer money on the app because some updates had been done and i contacted customer service. After over 20 emails in a week before I was able to get it fixed. I go back a month later and it doesn’t work again. I have to go through another process again. Now it’s been 2 weeks and I’m trying to do a transfer and low and behold it won’t work. I’m so sick of this and I’m surprised it has 2.6 rating. It is terrible and their online banking is not any better. It’s really embarrassing to say the least!!!
Been trying to contact Ecobank via email but get no response
I’ve been trying to activate my mobile app. outside Ghana but not successful and sent several emails because it keeps rejecting my card details but no one responds to my mails. I have funds in my account that keeps reducing due to charges but cannot access them in anyway. My money is good but my mails are not deserving of a response. I reserve my ratings because this is just pure theft. If I cannot access my own funds when outside Ghana then what’s the use of have my money go through your bank. Do something about this if you want better ratings and put people who are technologically sound enough to respond to customer mails. This is both annoying and frustrating

Glad to know the little Ecobank is doing. I mean I can easily transfer money to my mobile phone or to my mom’s phone directly from my account on my phone. The only hindrance is the 1% charge on every transfer. I think that’s too much. Also the 5 cedis charge per month just for holding their ATM card, calling it maintenance fee. Have they forgotten they also have our money which they loan to others? Do something about these.
Update ruined everything
Previous version of the app and the website were working very well. The navigation was quite easy and the pages loaded quite rapidly. New app is total fail. Pages takes forever to load and up until now it is impossible to request a bank statement. The history of transaction still only allows to see very recent transactions. In account summary, the displayed name were mixed, it says “saving account” but in fact it is the “current account” and vise versa for “the current account”. I would have given a score lower than one star it was possible.
Newest Update is Very Glitchy
I was initially excited about the Ecobank mobile app when I first downloaded it in early 2019 and had a positive experience. Since then, the app has been updated twice with each update less user friendly and more glitchy. The newest update no longer allows airtime payments in USD even from USD accounts. It is extremely slow and often times out before transactions can be completed. Although my expectations for customers service and other banking experiences remain very low, Ecobank continues to disappoint and fall far below acceptable standards.
Updated version not reliable
I wish I can go back to the old version that one was way better than this version. The new version is unresponsive most times, and unsuccessful mobile money transactions like debit without crediting ( May take hours)before money comes to your wallet., you can’t check balance sometimes because it’s still loading. This app kept me stranded in town because I couldn’t access my money through mobile money, nor e-token express cash as I did not have my atm card at hand. I’m very dissatisfied with this version and it need to be fixed!...
Lots of room for improvement
This app is basically effective when it decides to work, which isn't that often. With Ecobank Africa transfers, sometimes balances can't be updated and I have no idea why Reason for transfer should be a required field when it's an account transfer and the option is given before it's effected. The text is also way too small. But my biggest issue is that the payment advice generated doesn't show an amount. Please improve this.
App and Website.
I really doubt if these mobile app and the ecobank website have been tested before users started using the product. 1. I opened a saving account and wasn’t able to create a profile to use the mobile app. 2. Support is ridiculous, there’s no option of calling, sending feedback is buggy! I beg the designer of the website to try to submit a feedback or just play around with help option just to see how customers would feel. This is really disappointing!
My dad always said “if 9 ppl say something is black but only one person says it’s white. Then it’s BLACK”. Reading through all the reviews, I couldn’t find a single positive comment commending ur services. Everyone says your services generally are trash. So dear Eco, your services including your banking app in general is utter TRASH. As soon as my next salary comes in, I am leaving this bank for Good and transferring every dime. I’m sick of the incompetence. You guys can’t even get western union quickteller. What are you waiting for, grand children?
This update is really and truly horrible!
Lots of error messages, failed transactions and incorrect information! Error updating balance Error, go back Sometimes I log in and I can only see one of my two accounts, the other one replaced by an express account I didn’t open! Amazing stuff! Constant spinning like a windows 98 hourglass every time you tap any button...including just to display the summary of account balances on the landing page in the app. Meanwhile, while all this is going on and you’re frustrated, the app keeps displaying “Just a few more seconds” until it changes to “Go back”, which is a command. You will have no options to click on but to ok the “Go back” if you intend to navigate away from that screen.
3+ yrs of basic features
Ecobank introduced this app over 3 yrs ago but still lacks features. Most smartphones are equipped with fingerprint sensors but this app does not use it for authorizating transactions etc. App is sluggist and you get "no internet" errors for some of the features. Placement of products within the app has remained unchanged, I should be able to personalize the app to meet my usage needs. No push notifications.
Fix it please
You people should try and fix the transfer bugs and password bugs please it when someone need to send an emergency money then the app will start having issues why, please do something about this and the funny part is it won’t detect the problem it will just say sorry something went wrong or “go back” that’s all like I don’t get it please try and solve the issues please in ur next update
The so-called update has ruined the app
Was that an update or a ruining expedition? The app was working perfectly well and I was loving it for its convenience, until the so-called update/upgrade or whatever. It’s never worked again ever since, and I’m terribly disappointed.
WORST EVER APP(NEGATIVE STAR)
If there was a NEGATIVE star that would have been my rate, don’t waste your internet to download this trash, total waste of time and the poorest service ever in my entire life, if such indigenous bank can’t have a good app then it’s not even advisable to bank with them because micro finance and smaller credit unions have better apps than this total trash app! I’m done with EcoBank! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME TO DOWNLOAD THIS APP

How awful can a company get?🤦🏽♂️ It seems to me that each time the world takes a steo feather you guys to one backwards. You guys decided to update the app and left some countries out. Trying to login in only to find out there’s no US in the country codes. How earth do I login in then if my number is from the US. Y’all just do an awful job all the time.
