I love the bank but they have the worst customer service. They dont solve anythin

Maybe if I wrote this here, you all will see it and fix this. I don't know about anyone else but the time you take to fix things is very appalling. I have been chatting with customer care online and on the mobile app for the past 2 years for a name change they did wrong and not even my fault because I guess one of the employees cannot read a clear picture of my Driver’s license card and decided to spell my name wrong. They spelled it wrong and I have been complaining for the past 2 years but it hasnt been resolved. My name is SARDRICK OWUSU as seen everywhere on your files but my name has been spelled “SHADRICK OWUSU” on the online banking profile. This is ridiculous. Its not my name and I want it changed. Im sorry if its coming out mean, im saying this out of respect. I am just upset because I have been telling customer service for the past 2 years that my name on the online internet is wrong and still hasn’t been fixed. It is either I dont get a response at all or you respond it has been taken care of but I go check and it hasnt been changed. Im sorry but that is very wrong to be battling just for a name change the bank spelled wrongly and wasn’t even my fault

App Has Been Useless For Four Days

This is the worst banking app I’ve ever had on my phone. What rubbish. The bank network is as useless as Ecobank . Nothing to write about this bank. If you people can’t provide customers with good services I’d advise you sell off the bank to a competent hands. Imagine trying to transact on my app for four good days without a successful result. I’ve been asked to update my app but everytime I get to AppStore to do that I don’t see any option to update but rather OPEN which after clicking takes me to the same problem (useless app). You guys need to improve on your network and your services. It’s shameful to say I bank with this app, it’s that appalling.

I hope you people do something about this issues and save me from this stress. I don’t even know anymore what you guys dress up in the morning to go do in at the bank, sit at home if you cabt provide good services

Unplanned app release

It seems like this application was released before sufficient planning and testing. How could Ecobank not recognize a debit card that was issued by the bank. I have been trying to register online banking using Ecobank with my accurate debit card details with no luck. Online customer chat support states that it’s available 24/7 but customers are having to wait for hours just to end up not getting any support during weekend days. That’s misleading. You can’t just throw out an app that doesn’t work 90% of the time. Work with your developers on efficiency rate assessment. Giving Ecobank access to verify customer’s information using the company’s database shouldn’t be that complicated. Your online banking ads are misleading to consumers. Eco bank’s online banking systems need to be updated with new and accurate codes.

Worst Banking App

I don’t even know where to begin or end but I must say this is the worst banking app ever. You go through a lot just to transfer money one and the next time Ecobank doesn’t work and you have to start the process again. I could not transfer money on Ecobank because some updates had been done and i contacted customer service. After over 20 emails in a week before I was able to get it fixed. I go back a month later and it doesn’t work again. I have to go through another process again. Now it’s been 2 weeks and I’m trying to do a transfer and low and behold it won’t work. I’m so sick of this and I’m surprised it has 2.6 rating. It is terrible and their online banking is not any better. It’s really embarrassing to say the least!!!

Been trying to contact Ecobank via email but get no response

I’ve been trying to activate my mobile app. outside Ghana but not successful and sent several emails because it keeps rejecting my card details but no one responds to my mails.
I have funds in my account that keeps reducing due to charges but cannot access them in anyway.
My money is good but my mails are not deserving of a response. I reserve my ratings because this is just pure theft. If I cannot access my own funds when outside Ghana then what’s the use of have my money go through your bank.

Do something about this if you want better ratings and put people who are technologically sound enough to respond to customer mails. This is both annoying and frustrating

Worst banking app and bank I should say

I always bragged to my friends I was with the best bank and didn’t have to step out of my room to do banking. Over the last month it has been a nightmare, can’t transfer money, USSD not working either, can’t even transfer money to the MM account. I called customer service countless times and the said they’ll get back in 48hrs, no show. Called two days ago and was told they having issues for the last two weeks so should bare with them, really. We are in COVID times plus am not usually in Accra which makes it more frustrating. I hear adverts about Ecobank and the bank on radio and it’s so annoying. this app please fix the mess

Stupid bank

Big time wasting of time bank and app it’s a frustrating app and stupid bank ,,,when I receive money I don’t have access to my bank again but when no money nothing happens

Not the best option

Having Ecobank seems convenient until you have to perform a transaction. I spend so much time transacting money because it keeps failing. In other to get a successful transaction I normally try between 10-20 times before it goes through. All I get is “Failed at interface level”🙄🙄 there’s been times where am debited but beneficiaries don’t receive the money unless I contact customer care which is so much of an inconvenience. Please review Ecobank and let it serve it purpose otherwise delete it from the system. Thank you.

Great App by all standards

This is the best banking app among the 3/4 banking apps I use. My wife envies me. There’s nothing that I wish to do at the branch that I cannot do on Ecobank. This includes even opening a new account. Opening this app Express Account took me under two minutes to complete. Those rating one star, I’m wondering which app they’re rating.

Newest Update is Very Glitchy

I was initially excited about the this app mobile app when I first downloaded it in early 2019 and had a positive experience. Since then, Ecobank has been updated twice with each update less user friendly and more glitchy. The newest update no longer allows airtime payments in USD even from USD accounts. It is extremely slow and often times out before transactions can be completed. Although my expectations for customers service and other banking experiences remain very low, this app continues to disappoint and fall far below acceptable standards.

Updated version not reliable

I wish I can go back to the old version that one was way better than this version. The new version is unresponsive most times, and unsuccessful mobile money transactions like debit without crediting ( May take hours)before money comes to your wallet., you can’t check balance sometimes because it’s still loading. Ecobank kept me stranded in town because I couldn’t access my money through mobile money, nor e-token express cash as I did not have my atm card at hand. I’m very dissatisfied with this version and it need to be fixed!...

Disappointing

Their method and system of updating accounts when you’re outside the country is outdated and pretty much non existence.

Since traveling outside the country being in the USA and changing my contact to my U.S. number I haven’t been able to access my account through Ecobank which is a shame because now I’m not able to transact business on Ecobank until God knows when I travel back to Africa.

Banking in Africa (Ghana) when you’re coming from the West can be very frustrating. Everything is slow and tedious!

Can’t open an account

I’ve downloaded Ecobank and when opening an account they tell me they were unable to process it so I should try later and I’ve tried it for days and I can’t open an account

Update brought issues

Since the most recent update, there are no longer notifications despite notifications being activated. Secondly, there are so many transactions that are “pending” and take a long to time to update as “successful”, unlike before when it was pretty much immediately. Some of them never update and so recipients do not receive their funds.

It seems that from previews reviews your updates usually bring issues. I actually regret updating Ecobank .

Lots of room for improvement

Ecobank is basically effective when it decides to work, which isn't that often. With this app Africa transfers, sometimes balances can't be updated and I have no idea why Reason for transfer should be a required field when it's an account transfer and the option is given before it's effected. The text is also way too small. But my biggest issue is that the payment advice generated doesn't show an amount. Please improve this.

Update problem

I contact them for an update of my phone number and they sent me a form and put the new number but till now nothing has been done and I can’t access my balance when u call customer care they said they have sent to my branch but nothing has been done when you call the same old story and they are not willing to help this app is getting bad it look like they have bad workers in Ghana who they don’t care about the bank and their customers

DEBIT WITHOUT CREDIT

I dont know if this happening to only me or everyone else.. Am so tired of this everytime i transfer or subscribe airtime for my phone am always debited but not receiving credits alert.. Like as i am speaking right now I just sub 1500 i got debited and i havent seen d card i did another 1500 again i still havent seen the card 💔 Tbh this is not good service at all ... Could have left the bank if not for my money in it which i cannot even transfer and be sure it it would reflect 😭 .. 👎👎

Several errors

So far Ecobank is not worth the money it costs to have online access. I just downloaded Ecobank and I cannot log out. In addition, I made an international transfer in USD but on my app it shows that it was made in XAF therefore it is not reflecting the correct amount. I am 100% certain that I selected USD when making the transaction. I have screenshots to show this.
The only thing the only thing that makes Ecobank worth it is being able to see the balance.

App and Website.

I really doubt if these mobile app and the this app website have been tested before users started using the product.
1. I opened a saving account and wasn’t able to create a profile to use the mobile app.
2. Support is ridiculous, there’s no option of calling, sending feedback is buggy!
I beg the designer of the website to try to submit a feedback or just play around with help option just to see how customers would feel.
This is really disappointing!

App unresponsive

After a backup and restore to a new device, application has become unresponsive. Errors while checking balance. Last transaction update on app shows one done in December. Notification pop up works just fine when transactions occur. All attempts to get Customer care to rectify this has proven futile.
Setting up on a new device also doesn't work "Cannot process your request at this time. Please try again later"
Please help.

So far so good

Glad to know the little this app is doing. I mean I can easily transfer money to my mobile phone or to my mom’s phone directly from my account on my phone. The only hindrance is the 1% charge on every transfer. I think that’s too much. Also the 5 cedis charge per month just for holding their ATM card, calling it maintenance fee. Have they forgotten they also have our money which they loan to others? Do something about these.

Update ruined everything

Previous version of Ecobank and the website were working very well. The navigation was quite easy and the pages loaded quite rapidly. New app is total fail. Pages takes forever to load and up until now it is impossible to request a bank statement. The history of transaction still only allows to see very recent transactions. In account summary, the displayed name were mixed, it says “saving account” but in fact it is the “current account” and vise versa for “the current account”.
I would have given a score lower than one star it was possible.

Frustrated

My dad always said “if 9 ppl say something is black but only one person says it’s white. Then it’s BLACK”. Reading through all the reviews, I couldn’t find a single positive comment commending ur services. Everyone says your services generally are trash. So dear Eco, your services including your banking app in general is utter TRASH. As soon as my next salary comes in, I am leaving this bank for Good and transferring every dime. I’m sick of the incompetence. You guys can’t even get western union quickteller. What are you waiting for, grand children?

This update is really and truly horrible!

Lots of error messages, failed transactions and incorrect information!

Sometimes I log in and I can only see one of my two accounts, the other one replaced by an express account I didn’t open! Amazing stuff!

Constant spinning like a windows 98 hourglass every time you tap any button...including just to display the summary of account balances on the landing page in Ecobank . Meanwhile, while all this is going on and you’re frustrated, Ecobank keeps displaying “Just a few more seconds” until it changes to “Go back”, which is a command. You will have no options to click on but to ok the “Go back” if you intend to navigate away from that screen.

3+ yrs of basic features

this app introduced Ecobank over 3 yrs ago but still lacks features. Most smartphones are equipped with fingerprint sensors but Ecobank does not use it for authorizating transactions etc. App is sluggist and you get "no internet" errors for some of the features. Placement of products within Ecobank has remained unchanged, I should be able to personalize Ecobank to meet my usage needs. No push notifications.

Fix it please

You people should try and fix the transfer bugs and password bugs please it when someone need to send an emergency money then Ecobank will start having issues why, please do something about this and the funny part is it won’t detect the problem it will just say sorry something went wrong or “go back” that’s all like I don’t get it please try and solve the issues please in ur next update

Was that an update or a ruining expedition? Ecobank was working perfectly well and I was loving it for its convenience, until the so-called update/upgrade or whatever. It’s never worked again ever since, and I’m terribly disappointed.

If there was a NEGATIVE star that would have been my rate, don’t waste your internet to download this trash, total waste of time and the poorest service ever in my entire life, if such indigenous bank can’t have a good app then it’s not even advisable to bank with them because micro finance and smaller credit unions have better apps than this total trash app! Worst App and Bank Ever

How awful can a company get?🤦🏽‍♂️ It seems to me that each time the world takes a steo feather you guys to one backwards. You guys decided to update Ecobank and left some countries out. Trying to login in only to find out there’s no US in the country codes. How earth do I login in then if my number is from the US. Y’all just do an awful job all the time.

Ecobank is by far the worst bank i have worked with. Banking services that don't work on the ecobank online platform and do not get me started on th mobile app. Worst mobile app ever. Just a huge disappointment for us as clients.

Very terrible app. It keeps telling me my password is not correct and if I change the password and immediately try to login with the new password, it will say incorrect password. I’ve not been able to check my balance for weeks

This is a bad app I have ever seen,the first time I download I was unable to log in(invalid pin)which is not,I deleted the app and try to download it again but it was unable to download,this is just bad,I implore you to do something about it
