Interesting. Great comment on the human condition.

This game is not fun; however, if you are familiar with the myth for which the game is named, you should not expect it to be fun. The developer has asked you to spend $.99 to repeatedly roll a boulder up a hill. In a Flappy Bird-style score mechanic, your score is based upon your willingness to continue a monotonous repetition of taps that move your boulder up and over the hill. The skill required for this is very limited. Patience is much more important.

The trick: you can't stop if you're pursuing a high score. There are no levels. Just a strength meter that increases (+1) every time you successfully push the boulder over the hill, and a stoicism meter that increases at a trivial rate (+.2) every time you fail. Your score is multiplied by both numbers after you fail. Your stoicism carries with you when you fail, but your strength resets.

This game gets brutal fast. There is no relief as you attempt to achieve a high score. Just the unforgiving fact that your failure is only inevitable if you choose to give up. However, you will give up, so failure is inevitable.

Great game.

Sisyphus

Based off the famed Greek king, this game is an interesting concept.
If your into philosophy this might be the game for you.

I find it a wee bit stress relieving. I'd like to see them add a couple of new moves, or speeds, or a new tunic for our friend.

Interesting

It's interesting for the moment but kinda pointless.

By

Bad price

If your going to make a game like this at least make it free.

By

Creative

This game is not a traditional game, you can't find joy from it. It is more like an education app, teaching you the hard and pain of insistence. You may get frustrated after playing Sisyphos - in fact people get frustrated after playing any kinds of endless running game, but usual games give you a hope while this game gives you a despair.
But I still appreciate the creativity of this game, I'm looking forward to your next product.

Wow!

This really is a great game, from the subtle gruntings of sisyphus- I mean this app! To the calming sound of the boulder rolling back down. Though stoicism doesn’t seem to do anything, it would be nice if it made this app push the boulder a few more meters each time he pushed, otherwise it seems like a pointless feature.

This is genius

This game is pointless it’s utterly meaningless and a waste of time…. And that’s the point. And the game does a very good job at doing it. The creators of this game did very well I like the way it looks too

Only one

Only one can imagine this app

Me and the Birds

One can only Imagine Sysophus Happy.

Strangely fascinating

Like a really slow endless runner. No point to it that I can see. Some people might like it. I need a little more explanation. Like what’s the reason for randomly stopping? The rock (?) just decides it wants to go back down the hill? I have no say in the matter? Just push and push until, what exactly? No thanks.

By

Too easy

First try made it to the top, my boulder didn’t fall. I was expecting the timed taps to be much faster near the peak but my consistency in taps remained mostly the same. Ended at 250 for me.

haha YES IM HAVING SO. MUCH. FUN.

sisyphus just like me fr

Click click

Click. No game.

Terrible Game

This game is horrid beyond imagination. If you value any semblance of your sanity, stay away from the this soul-crushing and truly awful game. Was not it enough to curse Sisyphus? Do you also want to submit to torture, to eternal pain at the hands of the most arduous gameplay ever known to man? The developer of this game is a reincarnation of Zeus, twisted beyond words and now seeking more victims. Sisyphus may have been punished for cheating death, but this game will surely make you seek it.

By

Game is frustrating but good

The game gets me frustrated but you did a good job on it. Other people say it’s a bad game (but I think they just didn’t get to the top!)

By

The struggle itself toward the height is enough to fill a man’s hear.

One must imagine Sisyphus happy.

By

THE BEST GAME IVE EVER PLAYED

I can’t find a single flaw with this game! ITS PERFECT!!! There’s no game quite like it. I will grind this game!

Best game ever

First off there’s NO ADS, makes me want to donate just for that. Then, of course, There’s the gameplay. Step, push, step, push, step, and push the boulder over the peak. Turn around, and do it again. The never ending process, the eternal labor, depicts life in its most natural essence. All who rate this game lower than 5 stars fail to see the game, and life, for what its purpose and goal is; eternal suffering with no meaning.

Good but

It’s a good game that really shows what Sisyphus had to feel everyday, it’s may not be fun but it’s really creative. The few things I wish for the devs to add is a cutscene where I can see the rock roll all the way down instead of a menu telling me how high I got. I would also like a sort of character change every time Sisyphus gets stronger

One Must Imagine Sisyphos Happy

This game is amazing. It makes you reflect and thing ALOT. It makes you realize that you must find joy in the journey and you must imagine this app happy. 10/10 would recommend

By

Amazing

I love how angry this game makes me and how much I love pulling out my hair evertine I lose progress and how much I love restarting after making it over 3 times just to miss click

Rock

How do you win

I spent an hour a day for a whole week trying to get that rock up that mountain. Didn’t work.

By

one must imagine Sisyphus happy…

Literally how you expect it to be.

By

One must imagine Sisyphus happy.

…but my hand is totally cramped now, so.

By

What you would expect

The expectations coming into this game weren't the highest, I push a rock up a hill destined to never reach the top. When I first initially started I was confused but quickly understood the steps, I got up 5 times in a row before finally mistiming and I realized that every time you "complete" the level, it resets. You start again, and again, and again. The same thing every time and you get used to it, and then you fail. It gives a good lesson that I can relate to a lot. Comfortability will ruin everything, life isn't supposed to be comforting but it will continue, and the sun will come up again.

Absolutely miserable. It’s perfect!

Just like Sisyphus rolling his boulder uphill for eternity, this game offers an endless journey of monotony and despair. The constant tapping and attention needed to continue pushing the boulder makes you feel more trapped in a cycle of pain than any other infinite runner. The only small moment of relief and joy you feel in this game is the small moment between when the boulder rolls back down the hill before you have to start again. Just what I was looking for! 5 stars.

By

great but hard

it is not meant to be a game where you can say oh look I won cause you can’t there is no way to win, that does not change the fact that it is a great game. it didn’t take long for me to get over the hill the first time, and instead of the game saying you won you had to go back up the hill and go back to the starting point all in all a great game, just hard.

By

Exactly what it’s supposed to be

This… is a game about pushing a rock up a hill, there’s literally nothing else, pretty much at all. And that can be kinda fun, not in the “I enjoyed that” way, or even in the “I accomplished that” way, but more in the “It’s relaxing and nice to think to in the background kinda way”

It isn’t fun, hard, or particularly interesting. It’s just like the torture of Sisyphus, endless suffering, and here you are playing it.

This prison to hold me?

A visitor... Mmmm... Indeed. I have slept long enough. The kingdom of Heaven has long since forgotten my name, and I am EAGER to make them remember. However, the blood of Minos stains your hands, and I must admit, I'm curious about your skills, Weapon. And so, before I tear down the cities, and crush the armies of Heaven... you, shall do as an appetizer. Come forth, child of man, and DIE.

Very fun!!😃

My favorite part is when you push the rock. It’s my favorite part because the amount passion he has to push that rock. It shows determination and inspires me to push a rock.

By

Very great game

Fun for hours and endless fun first you mindlessly push up a rock up a mountain then push it back the other way after you make it to the top such fun

By

Idk if i’m doing something wrong

I LOVE Sisyphos so much! it’s beautiful! and chill:) Only problem, is that i can’t listen to my audiobook at the same time, even if the music is muted. if anyone knows how to get around that i would appreciate it:)

Fun to a point

Counter to a lot of reviews, I found this game fun initially. The fun game from having a goal. First, learn the rhythm. Then crest the mountain. Then make it back. Then build a streak. However at that point you basically have no reason to continue. Sure you could build your multiplier to infinity and top the leaderboards, but I’ve found that I’ve no desire to return to this game that I consider good. Maybe that’s the point and that’s fine. My gamer brain just craves more goals to climb towards. The irony is that it would be more fun if it wasn’t possible to get to the top

By

Meditative. Like Daddy Long Legs, but somber

I don’t find this game frustrating. It’s in the same category as Daddy Long Legs, Verticow, Drop Not, Skyward, etc. The point is to get further each time. There are only a handful of achievements, and no cute, silly collectables most games in this category accrue.

The biggest difference is that the pace of this app is more meditative. I can narrow my focus down to the placement of his feet, little changes in the path beneath him, and the pace of my breath.

Is this therefore not fun fun? I suppose not. I find it restful, though. It’s worth the “offering” for that.

The secret to winning

For anyone that want to know how to win, don’t let the rock hit your face. It gets harder the further up the mountain you get but once you realize what causes you to lose then you also realize what you must do to win. It is endlessly so technically you can’t win but you can at least reach the top. I’m interested to see what high score people will get now knowing this.

By

Frustrating.

This game is so infuriating as a person with a short attention span, which makes it perfect.
Just what I was looking for.
This game isn’t hard or easy, it’s just extremely infuriating

By

Not Sisyphus enough

There are peaks. Sisyphus pushed the rock without peak. I like this game but I would like it more if there was an unending hill with slowly increasing difficulty. Maybe ways to customize the cosmetics would be good as well.
