Key Benefits of Fred Meyer

- It’s been really helpful during the pandemic- I can add the groceries I want and schedule a time for pickup so I don’t have to go inside the store with my 3mo old.

- The pickup process is really easy.

- The associates who have brought out my groceries have been really friendly.

- If I make a shopping list I love that the items are categorized by the aisle they’re in.

- The app tells me if an item has a sale or coupons I can add.

- As a house spouse with a toddler I don’t have time for couponing, so the fact that the app does it for me is absolutely amazing.

Works wonderfully when it works right

FredMeyer, through its various updates, has had the same issues—every time you look something up to add it to the list (in my regulars) sometimes I have to recheck everything, sometimes I don’t. Usually I have to uncheck things I didn’t have checked. I think it confuses FredMeyer , but it would be nice if it could remember what was and wasn’t checked. That leads to the second issue—double listing of a product in your list, and if you try to delete one, it deletes both of them, and if you add one back, it adds two separate listings again. The only way I have found to work with this is to just go through the cart and undouble things that it has doubled the amount of. Another problem (and this becomes user/app problems at this point) is that if you’ve had to add a few things, you may have gone back and forth and re-checked items so many times that even though you have really tried to be careful, you inevitably forget something because you _thought_ it was checked.

Don’t get me wrong—I truly appreciate FredMeyer and the being able to just pick our groceries up. It makes things so much easier. I think if I were a mom with little kids this would be a fantastic thing—but hopefully not having the issues ordering that I have been. I keep thinking with each update that it’s going to stop, so maybe it’s my phone/tablet. I am grateful it’s here, I just wish the process was smoother.

Kroger CHEATS big time

Do not get FredMeyer. They will rob you blind if you don’t scrutinize each receipt. They lure you w great coupons until you get home to read your receipt to see cheated again. Twice in one week they did NOT apply the coupons at the register. They expect you to wait in line in the store customer service. Last time gal bit my head off. Same day spent $100 cheated AGAIN and after nearly 10 attempts to recover my money from the call center (They could have applied a credit) they still insist I go back and wait in line another 20 minutes and get my head bit off again. THEN I see they completely deleted over 500 gas rewards off my account which was the final straw. In 2.5 months I earned over 1700 points but FM your fun stops here. I will NEVER use your app again. I want to convey to all of your unsuspecting customers Fred Meyer app will siphon money from you if you don’t watch it. BE CAREFUL Kroger is a thief to innocent customers. SHAME on you Kroger. I assure you I will not spend that much money in your store so quickly as I will return to being a sporadic shopper going in only when i absolutely HAVE to. Burning bridges w good customers doesn’t phase you I realize. Oh well at least I’ll never be forced to endure this torture again. Bye forever FM “one sided “loyalty” program. I’m loyal to you, that’s the only loyalty going on here. Kroger cheats!

Many faults

First, I’d like to say that because of health reasons I love having the pick up and delivery options. However, I’m not as impressed as I used to be. FredMeyer used to show the ingredients on almost all of their products, and now the majority of the ones I need actually show them. Having celiac disease and allergies to foods, it’s imperative I know what I’m getting. Also, the other app was easier to find qualifying products for coupons. Navigating through FredMeyer is not as easy now. Often times I search a product and it says there isn’t anything matching that description, but I can word it the same way another time and it brings the product up easily. Before, it was clear what promotional items to purchase to receive free delivery. It’s much harder to find now, but even after finding a coupon valid today for free delivery on purchases of $75 or more, it would not apply it to my order. Therefore, on a $211 purchase I was charged $9.95 for delivery and $11 for a tip (I live 2-3 minutes from the store). Maybe the tip for the driver should be based on delivery location. Lastly, I was able to include notes about the actual delivery in the past, and FredMeyer does not have a place for that anymore. I really need to have that option, so I find this very frustrating.

Love this app

I don’t write reviews often, but I thought it was necessary to write about how much I love the Fred Meyer app. It’s been really helpful during the pandemic- I can add the groceries I want and schedule a time for pickup so I don’t have to go inside the store with my 3mo old. It’s so handy, and the pickup process is really easy! Plus the associates who have brought out my groceries have been really friendly. One time I needed to change the pickup time and found that I wasn’t able to reschedule the time. All I was able to do was cancel the order. I was nervous that I’d have to go through my entire list of groceries and re-add them, but I was extremely happy when FredMeyer saved my groceries and asked if I wanted to re-add all of them to my cart! Such a great, time-saving feature! Thank you, Fred Meyer! Highly recommend!

Hands down the Safeway app is better. AND it doesn’t rely on Instacart scams.

I am so done with the Freddie’s app. Every single order minus one had substitutions: which is fine, but only if the shopper actually asks you what you’d like instead. The Safeway app allows you to select nuances for your substitutions: same brand different size/type, same type but different brand, or notes to specify. I was very clear in my Fred Meyer app orders, but still almost always ended up with disappointing substitutions, with no checking in from the shopper. On top of that, despite a response text to more than one shopper (plus clear notes in FredMeyer ) that they not knock or ring the doorbell, given the fact that I have friendly but VERY LOUD dogs that go nuts when the doorbell is rung or a knock happens, they still rang the doorbell 3/5 orders. Wonderful. Thanks. 🙄

Plus the Fred Meyer app charges $10 for their delivery, while Safeway charges $5 AND gives you savings for the Safeway card. Safeway also lets you put more than 1.5 liters of alcohol in your cart. Thank you Safeway for letting me have a Covid vaxxed brunch at my house, with enough alcohol to make mimosas for my vaxxed friends!! Tried it with Fred Meyer first, and nope.

I won’t use Fred Meyer/Instacart again. It’s Safeway for me.

Love this

I love using the ClickList service! However, FredMeyer could continue to be tweaked for better service. It works better on different devices. I'd like to order on my phone, but that is the most problematic way with FredMeyer . I typically use my iPad, but even then, I can't uncheck "allow substitutions", unless I want to uncheck all my items. I should be able to select individual items that I'm ok with a substitution, but the only option I have is all or nothing.
Also, I see that FredMeyer is finally saving my "special instructions" on items that I order all the time. However, I'm not sure that the people who collect my items in the store actually see those special instructions unless they go looking for them. It's been hit or miss, and I'm told that my special instructions don't automatically show for those who are putting my order together.
Overall, FredMeyer and service is an amazing time and lifesaver. I love being able to drive up and load a huge order of groceries into my car, while keeping all my young kids in the car, all within about 10 minutes.

Some annoying navigation problems

App works well for searching general items and adding to the cart/list but navigating it can be difficult and navigating weekly ads are a pain. The menu bar is only accessible from the home page and certain items are only accessible from the menu bar, such as your lists. It would make it much easier if the menu was accessible from the bottom bar. Weekly ad items cannot be directly added to your cart. So you have to continually refer back and find either the items you added to your list, or find which items are on the weekly ad, then search for them separately. There should be an option to see eligible items, or be able to directly add to your cart, just like regular coupons. For the “buy 5” items, it does not show available items that are eligible for that discount. Some items on the weekly ad, when you search for them, show that there is a coupon/discount for it, but other items don’t show anything although the picture is advertised on the weekly ad.

Latest update is horrible!

I called the Fred Meyer customer service line to complain about the new app update, but they acted like they hadn't had any problems so I decided to write a review. This program used to work really well, but someone with wisdom decided they needed to "improve" FredMeyer . What happened was that it's almost unusable. 1.) Gone is easy access to the search by department...which is a huge disappointment. I don't know the stores inventory so all I know is what I've purchased before. 2.) after I placed my order this morning, I revisited the website only to find 5 of the items I'd just purchased already in my cart. Argh! And 3.) it appears that the system wants you to begin with setting a pickup date before starting a cart. This isn't how I shop, I build my cart items over time and then decide when I'm finalizing the order. 4.) I've had nothing but problems with notes regarding substitutions disappearing once I place the order.

Please don't roll out new app without considering the customer and how they use it. Really disappointing.

Tried out curbside pickup.. never again

Received a coupon to try out Fred Meyer curb service, thought why not?
While placing my order discounts were not showing up on my total being billed, had to place a call with customer service to be told that the discount will be taken after I agree to pay the non-discounted amount, really ?
Went to pickup the order in the time slot I had chosen. Called the number on the sign and was told that it would a bit as there customers ahead of me. After 15 minutes of waiting I called nicely to ask if I could just come in and pick up the groceries but was told they weren’t pulled yet.. now I felt trapped... after a total of 20 minutes my order arrived but with complications, my main course for dinner, pre seasoned and cooking bag roast beef had been substituted with pork. Really ? Contained in the rest of my order were the vegetables for the pot roast which afe now worthless with the pot roast .. total failure ..I will give credit to I believe the manager for pickup he was trying but the program itself is a complete failure. So an hour and a half wasted with ordering , driving and waiting in the car and now I need to go shopping again to get what I originally ordered for dinner .. “fool me once “...

Love it, but it’s a bit too complicated / buggy.

I’m assuming it’s a bug issue that causes some stuff to come up that shouldn’t be appearing when you compare it to the searched word... Or maybe things need to be recategorized via your guys end?

While I love the idea / platform you guys have going on... Customers are stupid (no offense to any fellow customers..), generally they like what they’re used to, easy to use, and simplicity. I feel like you guys did great with the simplicity factor, but missed the mark on “easy to use.” I think it’s super cool that you allow the customer to choose what’s on the home page, but if they want to swap any of the things out they first have to take one away (it doesn’t state this, instead just puts the original tab back where it came from...). I also think it’s a amazing concept besides the fact that I have no clue how to access the other tabs you offer... I can only access the four unless I move them around for a second. Overall I think it’s the best grocery store app!

Customer Service/Missing Items needs HELP

I like FredMeyer when it comes to shopping aspect, it’s clear and easy to use. However if you have any issues with your groceries there is no clear way of getting it fixed. Most apps with delivery service immediately ask you if your order was good, what did you like about the experience and if you’re missing any items. With FredMeyer I had to call Kroger to get it reimbursed because half of my order was missing. I was given no case number, I was told there would be credit given to my account, there isn’t even a place to go in FredMeyer to check if that credit has been issued. I went to Fred Meyers and because the delivery is a courier not owned by Fred Meyers, they can’t even help you with the issue. I’ve messaged instacart and let them know the issue to which I’ve had no reply.

Companies that don’t have streamline communication between all carriers are super frustrating, they purposefully make it difficult for us to sort out issues and it gives them all a loophole so they don’t have to take the blame.

Too frustrating to use!

I just spent 20 minutes building my shopping list. On my way to Freddie’s FredMeyer logged me out and I was unable to log back in, losing my list completely. My time was completely wasted! I think this is the straw that is going to make me delete FredMeyer from my phone.

The thing that makes FredMeyer unusable for me is that I have to be connected to the internet to use it. My connection while inside the store (via cellular) is terrible, as is the WiFi service inside the store. I have to take the time to open FredMeyer and access my shopping list outside the store where my cellular connection is better. And today, getting logged out and not being able to log in again was ridiculous.

FredMeyer would be awesome if it wasn’t so buggy and frustrating (and this fact, in itself, is frustrating). I love being able to build my shopping list and that it sorts by isle. I love finding coupons and loading them on my Fred Meyer Card. But, honestly, whenever I used FredMeyer I get so frustrated and angry and life is too short to get angry over technology. So it’s getting deleted.

Great for busy families

I love using FredMeyer . If I make a shopping list I love that the items are categorized by the aisle they’re in. If I’m shopping for pickup I love that FredMeyer tells me if an item has a sale or coupons I can add. Just now I got $162 of groceries for literally 50% off. As a house spouse with a toddler I don’t have time for couponing, so the fact that FredMeyer does it for me is absolutely amazing. It seems silly to be so grateful for an app, but the employees that work hard at the store doing the shopping for me so I don’t need to spend 2 hours entertaining a 3 year old while looking for items is honestly a godsend. I wish there was a function to tip the employees that shop for me though. Started this review talking about saving $81 and I’m not even doing any work, so I wish I could give back to the people that do.

Would be great if it wasn’t so glitchy

Every time I order from clicklist I can never finish the process without receiving errors to the point of having to refreshing FredMeyer , shutting down phone, or sometimes as much as deleting and re-adding FredMeyer . (“We are experiencing difficulties at this time”, “service fee has changed, please review” then sets me back to beginning with nothing for me to change)
FredMeyer is also a bit chaotic to look at. Adding selected coupons to cart should be a one step process rather than having to go to each coupon and manually selecting the item associated. (I can adjust by clicking on item in cart if I desire to change the variety) Also, FredMeyer should be able to show you a subtotal and digital coupon difference, rather than having to prepay and adjust at pickup.

Convenient idea needs more work

I am very grateful to be able to order online and pick up at no charge, and the staff are always available and happy to help over the phone if there is a problem. But so many system improvements are needed to make the process more efficient. Often there is info missing or the links don’t work-the coupon doesn’t show up, the price is wrong/sale prices haven’t been updated, the search doesn’t locate the item even when it is available, the ingredients or nutrition info is missing and the picture of them is missing or unreadable. And I have no idea why the nutrition info doesn’t include sugar; very time-consuming to have to search the internet for ingredients and sugar content for so many items. Also, the system doesn’t remember any special instructions or substitution preferences, so it’s time-consuming to re-enter them every time.

Great concept, poor execution

For anyone tha uses apps or computers regularly, FredMeyer is a nightmare. It is not seamless or intuitive at all and it takes 5 steps to do something that should take 1 step. Regulars should be accessible via the main shop page rather than having to go back and forth between the 2. In my shopping cart there is a regular glitch which causes many of the exact same items to appear 3 or 4 times which takes me forever to go over my final cart. Notes for the shoppers are never saved so they have to be in put each time you shop. You cant edit once you are in the final cart, you have to go back out. Many items drop out once added. THis has happened to me many times and I don’t notice until I have picked up my order. And these are the gripes just off the top of my head. This morning FredMeyer crashes every time I go into regulars. THis would be a great service if it worked but I spend more time hassling with FredMeyer than I do shopping in the store so I am no longer using it until a major change happens.

Part of the solution!

I haven’t usually shopped at Fred Meyer only because there are other grocery stores closer to my house, or I would do a big stock up at a local warehouse store that shall remain nameless. But I looked for a way to avoid grocery crowds in these uncertain times, and FredMeyer has been a lifesaver. Your curbside pickup staff have been friendly, helpful and generally awesome. Being able to modify the order puts Fred Meyer over the top of the competition. The only thing I wish would change is getting groceries in paper bags instead of plastic bags — which not only are less environmentally friendly, but they always seem to split before I can get the groceries into the house. Other than that, Fred Meyer has been a great part of the solution. Thank you!

Slight but important discrepancies bet app & website (edited)

On FredMeyer (specifically regarding ClickList) there are regular and consistent discrepancies regarding unavailable items. FredMeyer shows that items are not avail at my location, but on the website they are...and they ARE in the store because I usually think of two or three things on the way there, so I look for the “unavailable” ones. This is not a timing of restocking issue, either- it is consistent.

Other than that, FredMeyer is fine, but for me, this aspect is one that practically circumvents the entire reason for making ClickList convenient. Please fix to make this 5-Star :)

(Edit: the website and app differences are less [ie better], but for whatever reason, sometimes FredMeyer flakes out during checkout and cannot process payment. It’s extremely frustrating and renders the entire process of using ClickList worthless. This hasn’t happened for a few weeks, but when it does, it changes my entire day significantly.)

Awesome!

I love Fred Meyer but I hate the shopping in the store. The aisles are to close together and now with the addition of the pick up service the already small aisles are clogged with the HUGE personal shopper trolleys. FredMeyer allows me to be one of the annoying people that shop online and clog the aisles with the trolleys all from the comfort of my couch! The pick up service is awesome, fast, and super friendly. I’ve never had a personal shopper pick out anything I wouldn’t have picked myself. It’s fast and I’m able to research prices and labels without feeling like I’m causing a traffic jam in the aisle. I save money shopping through FredMeyer and I don’t dread going to the store. One thing I would like to see is a weekly recipe section where I can click what I need to make stuffed peppers, or chicken enchiladas, or taco salad.

Overall, pretty good app!

I have been using FredMeyer for about 2 months, and it has already been improved a couple of times.

I have a few improvements I’d like - if I have items for which I never want substitutions, or always the same comment, I’d like to be able to add that to my shopping list or “weekly” list, rather than having to retype them in the cart every time.

Also would be nice to bring up the weekly list, select all, but then delete a few before adding them all to the cart.

Could a “miscellaneous” item be added to the list? Sometimes you can’t find an item on a search, but you’re pretty sure the store has it. If you could add a description of what you want, with however many ounces or cans or jars, maybe the person doing the selections at the store could figure it out.

Also would be nice to have a “not that” option, so if I select “beef” I could search for all fresh, deli, or frozen, but eliminate dog food, so as not to have to page through hundreds of cans before finding what I want.

Overall though, this works pretty well, and I anticipate it will get better. Very much appreciated, since I am in a wheelchair, and my friends pick up my groceries for me. Thanks!

Love the app and grocery pick up!

I’ve recently discovered how well FredMeyer and grocery pickup work and fit into my lifestyle! This has revolutionized grocery/household shopping for me. I’m on a “down to the penny” budget and FredMeyer and grocery pick up has helped me keep within my budget every week. I’m so thankful now I do t have to shop in a rush or bring my child shopping with me anymore. All I have to do is plan the weeks dinner menu, add coupons to my app, search and add all the items I’ll need for the week, then pay and schedule my pickup time! My son and I load into the car, drive just down the street to Freddie’s, park in the designated parking, open the trunk, and an associate brings our groceries out and loads them in the trunk. Love it. No more overspending just to get home and realize I’ve forgot the item I went for! No more son begging for all the goodies he sees! The only think that would make this better is to make pickup free instead of charging $5 for it, or grocery delivery in our geographical location.

Huge time saver!!

I started using click-list when I was pregnant with twins and couldn’t walk through the store. I have come to love it so much that I will continue to use it for my weekly grocery needs! It is so convenient to build your list throughout the week and to take advantage of sales and online coupons. I know I spend less because I am not grabbing things as I walk up and down the isles making the nominal $5 fee more than worth it. I’ve never had an issue of anything missing or wrong and my groceries are always ready on time. My only suggestion is maybe an online check in through FredMeyer instead of having to call. Oh, and PLEASE start Click-List at the Nampa, ID location : ) thank you Fred Meyer!

App Needs a Lot of Improvenent

Should only be one screen to select, review, add comments, allow substations, then the next for payment. FredMeyer takes a long time to search for something to add. In fact it spins so long my cell phone screen goes dark thinking I’m not using my cell phone. In addition, it did not keep my chosen timeframe and did not allow an option to change after ordering back to my chosen time.

Overall, FredMeyer is too clunky to use as it takes too much time to load my items and work through FredMeyer for payment. That’s why I normally do my own shopping in store. As it is now, I had to re-work an important appointment in the afternoon to do it at a different time to be able to do the ClickList pick up at FredMeyer ’s chosen time. Not ideal at all. Overall, must improve please.

Lazy Workers

I normally shop for small items and pick up, but recently I decided to try the household items. I ordered a shelf, which was not a huge one, AND I assumed it wasn’t an issue for me to add to my pick up list since it was an option available to me. Well, shortly before my order was ready for pick up, this girl calls me to tell me they don’t have it in stock, but when I went to the store later that same night to see if there was something else, I found that same item. In fact, they had 5 of those shelfs in stock. If the workers have an issue with certain products and don’t want to carry them or have assistance carrying them to the vehicle maybe there shouldn’t be an option to add those items to the pick up list. Or maybe the lazy workers should just find an easier job that suits them where they can provide a great customer experience. Not too enthused about ordering to the Bakerview location. I will be picking up at the Lakeway store from now on.

Called customer service and she couldn't resolve problem with the app. After taking a long time having me doing the same thing over and over again, I told her I'll just go to the store and use my card. I have other things I need to do. The app is lousy.
