Audio book has stopped playing 2.25 hours into an 11 hour book. I cannot jump forward, only go back

the timer on my borrowbox audiobook has ceased to function and will not automatically switch off

I have a new Blackview Tab 60 tablet. My previous tablet was a Galaxy Tab 8. Everything worked well on the Galaxy. The Blackview stops my ebook within the story. Sleep is off, battery is in unrestricted, version is 3.13.03. Please help

Although I can listen and read and download books and preview audiobooks I get an unknown error message when I try to preview ebooks. This is happening on both my iPad and iPhone. I have tried reinstalling and resetting BorrowBox but still get error message

Message when trying to open started and not started books for the last 24 hours: "Unknown error please try again later."

On I Phone - was reading a book then froze. Deleted and reinstalled app, now it won’t go beyond Download complete though I can see the book is there. Working fine on iPad.

My books won’t play

Keep getting message stating unknown error try again later. Checked Wi-Fi - all good. Re-booted as well.

Yesterday I downloaded the updated app, since then I have not been able to open the book I was listening to.

I can’t play my audiobook on Borrowbox, the play button doesn’t work and I get an unknown error message. It’s so frustrating, I am listening to a book I’ve been waiting months for and if I don’t get it finished I have to wait till2028 for it!!!!

There is no sound from my audio book from my loan screen. If I look at other audio books and preview there is sound but if I borrow it there is no sound again. It’s was working when I went to bed and then nothing in the morning. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Please help, love my audio books

The app is downloading books but not playing them. I was getting an error message earlier but not now

The play function on audio books has stopped working. It works on other apps.

When pressing the 'play' button on BorrowBox nothing happens. Everything else works as normal. I've cancelled the borrowbox app on my iphone and then reinstalled. I still have the same problem above.

I viewed the app on my Apple Watch and after that, whenever I try to play the audiobook I am part way through does not play. I constantly get a message ‘an unknown error occurred please try later’.

I had to renew a book I was halfway through this morning and now that book is stuck at the point I left it. It keeps loosing downloads of that and the other two books I have ready to listen to. Once downloaded they won’t play either. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but the problem remains. Help! Many thanks Jan Brickell

Borrow box audio book stuck on pause and will not play. Can listen to previews on other books. Have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it but without success. This is on my I pad, have been listening to audio books for over 2 years now, please help.

The app was working fine yesterday! But for some reason play doesn’t function So can’t play the audio I uninstalled and reinstalled the app Still doesn’t work Bit frustrating when you are a third of the way in an interesting book! Any ideas what it may be?

Sound won't play on audio book says something on my settings won't let it

I downloaded the latest BorrowBox app update today but when I open it the app is sticking on the update library screen and won’t go any further. It was working alright before downloading this latest update. Please could you fix this. Yours sincerely From Maria

BorrowBox remains in a state of updating on my iPad but I use no problem on my phone, very recent problem

For the past 24h Borrowbox Leicestershire, viewed online on a pc, has been displaying vast amounts of white space between, for example, the genre listings & a couple of pages of white space before individual item details. This makes searching for anything an enormous chore. Oh yes, & preview for audio does not function. Rather a long time for such problems to be left unresolved.

I tried to open borrowbox and got a page saying authentication failed. My account number was there, but when I entered my PIN it was not recognised

I am having problems downloading BorrowBox app onto my kindle. It says Currently unavailable.

Borrow Box constantly rotates page to landscape when I am trying to read it in portrait view. Also, I can’t access the bookmark as it is covered by the top and bottom panels which respond only occasionally to the remove gesture. I am using it on an iPad 6th Generation running IOS 16.

On Apple IPAD mini. Borrowbox no longer allows selecting a chapter or skipping back and forward by chapter. Can only progress a page at a tijme or sliding the control at the bottom of the screen. I notice it no longer calculates the page count on opening a book or after resizing fonts. Problem started on the last but one update. Still OK on Android.

Had the same problem with iPad only showing front page. Try going into the BorrowBox App on the iPad and turn on compatibility mode.

Like many other users, BorrowBox has stopped working on my iPad mini 2, iOS version 12.5.7. I can access the cover page of a book, but page 0001 fails to load. Can please advise on a fix for this issue.

Ipad problem. Any downloaded book will only dislay the cover but will not load pages. Started about 2 days ago. Reinstalling app or rebooting Ipad has no effect. Still works OK on phone or laptop (Windows 11)

Stops playing after each chapter. It won't play the book continuously as it always used to. I've cleared the cache, but makes no difference. Please advise!

I want to download to ereader but when I press the green box to download, it only gives me the option to 'download ebook' and not 'download for ereader'. A month ago i had an option to 'download for ereader' and used this to download onto Adobe Digital editions and then downloaded onto my Kobo. I do not have this option anymore. Can you help please?

Ebook 'You will never be found ' by Tove Alsterdal will not work. Just keeps saying that borrowbox has stopped working. My other ebooks and eaudiobooks are working.

On several audiobooks, the recording cuts off the first second or so, and the word is missed. This is important for chapter titles. Examples include: David Olusoga's Black and British short history, Margaret Atwood's Madd Adam trilogy, and others. Small issue with disproportionate consequences. I love borrowbox/Bolinda. Borrow Box has frozen the iPad. Completely. Can't turn it off or access menus or settings or anything. Been like it for 24 hours.

BorrowBox has stopped syncing to latest page read when I use a different device to continue reading

Have been using the app for some years now and have not had any issues until the past 7-10 days. The playback just stops, then switches to a Voice Control screen. The only way can get out of that is to go back to the Borrow box app and then it starts playing from a random position, then the Voice Control screen comes back again. It also randomly stops playback or just changes chapter again then stops and chooses another chapter. Am using iphone 8 and an old iphone 5c I changed to another phone and is same issue. It has just become unusable. I am very upset at this. What is happening? There are no update messages on the app.

Asking me to put my password in again. Then seems to just hang! No idea why.

I have chapters missing when downloading audiobooks. Don't know how to delete the download to re-try without returning the book, When I click on the track listing it just shows a green line. When playing the chapter previous it just skips over the missing one. I tried to download on my phone and got the same issue

Been using Borrow Box up for years and it has been wonderful. It s been great when it was upgraded to when you borrow a book it automatically down loads. But lately it just keeps stopping at different intervals of time. Within minutes or hourly. I don't know how to fix it?

Hi, recently if I try to reopen an audiobook that I've been listening to earlier after midnight it will not play and the buffering symbol just goes around. The only way I have found to overcome this is to reboot my phone following which it will open as normal.

As of yesterday, all audiobooks are stopping at the end of each chapter and need manually restarting

Borrowbox often starts to play when I have used the voice message on WhatsApp. Especially if I use the voice message with Siri. When I get a voice message on WhatsApp or telegram, then Borrowbox starts playing.

Haven't looked before on this site but would like to state how inferior Borrowbox is compared to the previous company that my library used, especially when searching for books by author.

Audio book. Yesterday - even when I had my earphones in, the reading of the book could be heard in the room. It hasn’t happened in the two years I have been using BorrowBox. Has anyone else had this problem?

Bookmarks not working properly— I bookmark page but when I come back it goes to an earlier page, not correct page. Can be hundreds of pages out.

Since North Yorkshire libraries changed to BorrowBox I have been very pleased with it until yesterday when I tried to open the book I'm reading. It just will not open! Using an Android tab, Borrowbox takes around 5 minutes "counting pages". My ancient, fourth hand Apple iPad took no noticeable time

Use BorrowBox on mini iPad 3. Have had the odd problem before which seems to sort itself, with or without help, eventually. Latest is Restore Progress saying there’s an error with it. If I press cancel or restore it still won’t go the page I’ve read to. Turned iPad off and on again. Still won’t play fair. That’s on my current read. New book loaded at 1 this morning and 14 hours later I’m still waiting for page numbers to come up. It’s been scrolling for 14 hours! With both books I have no idea what page I’m on!

Hi, the sleep timer stopped working a week or so ago and the play/pause feature isn't working properly - any suggestions?

My loans are not out of date but the audio keeps stopping. Should I just reload the app? I was worried my loans and reservations would be cancelled if I reloaded the app? Thanks

The sleep.function is not working, it sets, but doesn't switch off, very inconvenient as I listen at night and usually set 10m as I drop off to sleep while listening and it keeps playing all-night

Hey there, Audiobooks: The sleep function has stopped working after the latest update (keeps going all night) and stability is worse. Suggestions: Would also appreciate a bookmark function for audiobooks plus the option to listen at 80, 85 and 90 percent speed. I struggle with audio processing but a 25% drop from 100 to 75% is a bit too slow. Thank you, Gillian

I had the borrow box app on my iPad & after our local library changed to a new system it wouldn't work so I deleted it and tried to reinstall it but When I try to download the Borrow box app now it says 'borrow box is not comparable with this iPad'.

When I go back into reading my book it keeps asking me to restore

E-book reverts to first page each time it’s reopened irregardless of the page I previously read

On opening the icon on my Apple mobile, main page opens (with updating library spinning) then the 'Libraries West' page, then the app reverts back to my home page. This has been the case for the past two days. Prior to this I have been using it undisturbed for a month.

I cannot log in, it says an error has occurred been like this for three weeks? Have contacted library via email as said my account had expired to no avail?!

HI, Whenever I open Borrowbox for a new seession, it goes back to library, refreshes library, then have to click on the book I'm in the middle of reading! This takes about 5 minutes of time that should be spend enjoying reading book! Wholly unsatisfactory! Edward

Since last night I have not been able to login to my BorrowBox on my devices it keeps giving me a message that my account has been locked and to contact the library. This is crazy because for one thing who can you contact at night and it’s a nightmare to contact anyone on the web for help. Very frustrating. Please can you help.

North Yorkshire libraries has pulled the plug on overdrive and libby, and substituted the useless borrowing.........its slow spending most of the time counting pages. Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish.

BorrowBox when compared to Overdrive is useless. 1. Browsing for a book is not easy. A. It's set up for the idiot faction. B. No filter system. 2. Font control size regularly fails and reverts to microdot size. 3. Reverts to the open page and reloads the book making about 2 minutes before able to continue reading. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

My library (North Yorkshire) has, with marginal notice cancelled the working Overdrive for the non-functioning Borrowbox. My account is quite simply no is no longer recognised. Support needless to say is non existant
