When are we getting a useful app?

They focus on making MiBanco pretty but there's very little you can do with it. You should be able to to everything you can do from a computer. Being able to see pending credit card transactions is a MUST! Features needed: 1. Seeing pending credit card transactions. 2. Ability to see and download e-statements/e-bills. 3. Report cards lost/stolen. 4. Activate new credit cards. 5. Select new pin. I see the "open e-account" message was changed for the "marketplace" which I still think should be hiding in a different part of MiBanco .

In 2003 I bought a house with Citibank and I was able to manage my mortgage through the internet; schedule payments, add money to the principal and escrow accounts, etc. Now in 2006 I bought another house and can do the same with PennyMac. In 2022 I can’t believe I can’t do the same with BPPR. It is still a manual process where I need to call or send an email if I want add or remove the $100 that I am adding to the principal or if I want to schedule payments before the 15th of each month. Anyways I hope this could change for better sooner than later. Muchas gracias

Malísima - Very bad

Como usuario regular de la aplicación ya sea para efectos de negocio o uso diario personal, la aplicación contiene información importante sobre tu cuenta siempre accesible, puedes hacer pagos, transferencias, y otras cosas que nadie utiliza. Es fastidioso que te pregunten todos los días sobre tus preguntas de seguridad para que "Verifiques la cuenta" y "Por tu seguridad" Es absurdo. La aplicación no tiene la capacidad de reconocer dispositivos antes utilizados y recientemente el teclado de la aplicación desapareció. Así que ahora cuando escribo mi contraseña por décimo enésima vez, lo hago a ciegas, sin ver mi teclado.

The application works fine for basic information regarding your account. You can transfer between approved accounts, pay bills (which are approved on your account) and other things you will never use. Recently, MiBanco lost its keyboard (I'm assuming it's a bug) It's been a week and still no fix. I have to type in my password without actually seeing the keyboard (by guessing) Also, the application does not recognize used devices so every time I go in, I have to answer security questions then provide password without keyboard. Every time.

Mi Banco

I have been using Mi Banco application for over ten years and have been very pleased with the results. It is easy to use, handy with check deposits, and paying bills. It allows me to see every single account transactions, from deposits, balances and payments. Highly recommend it to everyone who prefers to do the majority of their bank transactions online.

Good when you can get in; if you can

I use three bank apps on mobile devices. This is by far the least friendly. The number of times I get asked security questions is absurd. Why use the Apple ID fingerprint if every other time I need to authenticate again? Security does not seem to be the answer if one is to judge by the other bank apps, who occasionally request a confirmation.

Poor UX

MiBanco is convenient to a certain extent, especially for those who have grown used to living in a world where everything can be done online. However, MiBanco misses greatly on fundamental User Experience best practices, which makes it extremely frustrating to use hence missing the concept of UX design completely. It may be convenient once you learn to navigate for certain transactions, if you manage to log in smoothly, but both the web and mobile applications have much room for improvement.

Everything works well except for one thing (at least on an iPhone 7).... the mobile deposit
Put the check in the box, snap pic and the picture default orients 90 degrees showing about 40% of the picture. Have to guess position oriented perpendicular to box to have any chance of getting acceptable pic of check
So totally unacceptable, hence 3 stars

Not able to pay or transfer

Ever since I’ve been using MiBanco years ago I’ve noticed that the transfer tab never worked. But pay tab does work. After notifying it to a local branch agent they opened a case # to try to fix it. Months later and after a few calls the issue still remains and now the ability to pay has been disabled for me as well. I guess I’m a lost cause now because it has something to do with my account. I might as well transfer all my money to a Robinhood account instead and avoid all their useless fees.

Minimal functionality

MiBanco does the very basics of what you want a banking app to do. It doesn’t allow very high amounts for check deposit and it is not automatically accepted. I wrote a check from one of my accounts to the BPPR account and they didn’t accept it. I had to take the check to the branch. It also doesn’t show an image of the processed check. So you must record all the particulars in the register to refer back to when balancing your account. It does direct connect to Quicken.

Poor self service options. Exceeded waiting time. Support team is not helpful

You will never accomplish your mission on the same day. Your account will blocked unnecessarily. Customer service will not be able to unblock you internet access without you having physical possession of a bank card and it has to be the bank card associated with your account, no matter if you give them all your info SSN, address no matter if you have a bill in front of you. It is a ridiculous shame process. The worst service ever!

From a user perspective it'd be great to be able to search through transactions in my account.

From a tech/dev perspective, this *seems* like it'd be straightforward to implement since everything could be done solely client-side, without need for any back-end functionality in order to build this highly useful feature.

Review for Mi Banca

I’m very pleased that I’m able to view my accounts daily if necessary from the comfort of my home. The two times I’ve wanted to install or re-install MiBanco the Banco Popular officials took the time to help me, especially since I’m not very digitally savvy. Thank you for your patience and excellent service.

Mediocre at best.

I’m frankly surprised that MiBanco has such a high rating. It doesn’t let me log in with Face ID and it registers the attempt as an invalid password, which results in (repeatedly) locking me out of the account. It force closes when in use, as well. This has happened across multiple devices. From a bank with so many customers that is advertising its online services, this is disappointing.

At the forefront

BPPR online banking, since their very first internet program in the ‘90’s, that was a run via a 3.5 floppy disk on your computer and then transactions had to be transfered by modem, has set the standard, at least for all banking in PR. MiBanco is the only reason I haven’t opened an account elsewhere, no other online banking app compares. At this they are simply the best!

Not up to date with other banks.

MiBanco is horrible. It shows you the balance you owe for your credit cards but doesn’t show you your available balance. Also, when you make a purchase it take days before it is posted and your balances updated.

Easy and simple app

It's a must if you live in Puerto Rico and unlike some misleading reviews here say, you CAN change to the language to English, although it'd be nice if they made the language the phone is set to as the default. I'd love to see support for Apple Pay and the Apple wallet app, it's a major flaw and an inconvenience that they don't have support for it since I forget my wallet often and don't like having to open MiBanco every time. Please make this a thing.

Good

I do like MiBanco but a huge flaw is that the mobile deposit is not available for ALL the clients, which I consider discriminatory because there are a lot of clients about of PR that still have accounts with you and without that feature is more complicated unless you have direct deposit from your payroll.

You should ALLOW ALL the clients to have that option in their apps!

Need to refresh the app.

I downloaded the application, I registered and everything was fine, but the next day I see that they deposit me 3 cents, fine, but when I re-enter later, the 3 cents they gave me and my balance do not appear. When I enter the webside it appears, but I don't know why in the application it doesn't appear when I click on my balance where it says "all" and "credit" they don't appear either and above all I used it and what I have used has not been reflected yet. They dont maintain it.

Was a good app...

Lately it’s too buggy. Almost feels like it’s not finished. Widgets stop working or updating, the keyboard suddenly disappears and u have to type you password with some guessing (risking to block your account) but for me the most unacceptable thing is... having to type the password every single time I use MiBanco . If you want to make me type the password every time then why having the remember this device button? There are technologies out there that can work and be as secure as password if not more secure (touch id or Face ID por example). Fix it!

No more ATH Móvil

Recent update removes ability to use the ATH Móvil functionality and forces you to download an additional low quality app, to do the same thing you could do with just one app.

Edit to add that the developer response is useless nonsense. I do not have an account with Evertec, my account is with BPPR and the BPPR app removed the option to send cash. It’s not my problem as a customer if BPPR/Evertec has an identity crisis and I shouldn’t have to download and use two limited apps instead one full-featured one. Very poor brand/development strategy on BPPR/Evertec part.

Quick and Efficient

Transaction monitoring and mobile banking is easy. I am able to do business from any location where there is good signal and at any time. Payment by phone features are excellent, too. Security has been a premium feature.

Need more accurate transactions

The system do not reflect real transactions on time. Most of the other bank accounts you can see real time transactions. Also make payments within the same bank accounts you do not see it until few days
