In 1966, Paradise of the Pacific became HONOLULU Magazine and shifted focus dramatically.

In 1888, when Hawai‘i was still a monarchy, King Kalakaua commissioned a magazine under royal charter to be Hawai‘i’s ambassador to the world.

It is, in fact, the longest established magazine west of the Mississippi and the only monthly city magazine in the state of Hawai‘i….and it continues today.

The subscription will include the current issue if you do not already own it and subsequently published future issues.

No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during your active subscription period.

You may turn off auto-renewing subscriptions by going to your user’s Account Settings after purchase.

That magazine was Paradise of the Pacific.

It became a magazine by and for the people of the Islands.

Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase.

The cost of the renewal will match the initial subscription price.

Today, HONOLULU is among the handful of publications in the U.S. that have chronicled the events of an entire century.

Still does not load new issues without....

...deleting and downloading HonoluluMag again. No offline reading and portrait mode for pictures that span two pages. The ZINIO version was much better, should’ve gone back to them.

Honolulu magazine-can't view magazines

UPDATE: Still can not get Jan. 2017 would love a refund for the last three issues I will not be able to read!! I have had this subscription for a couple years and all of a sudden I haven't been able to download the January issue for the last few weeks. I have gone through the Apple steps and contacted the magazine directly with no resolution. I found the most recent subscription and clicked report a problem (to Apple) & that leads to an error message from Apple. I have the subscription through March 2017 but it appears I will never get to see those three issues! Unsatisfied customer!

Terrible app!

As a new subscriber, I've received my first print issue, but there is no access to the digital editions, even though their website still sells it that way! They'll certainly let u buy the issues that show up however, but why would it allow a "subscriber" to even buy digital issues when it's supposed to be included w the print subscription...makes no sense? All this nonsense is business as usual I suppose, remembering how things work in Hawaii. Buyers, do not subscribe if u want any form of a digital subscription!

Theft of money! Do not get this app, they steal from you!

I have subscribed to this magazine for years with no problem. But as if January 2017, I have been unable to access any issues. I wrote to them in January, February, and now March and they just keep telling me their servers are down and they do not know when they will be restored. They keep telling me yo be patient but three months is absurd. This is fraud, plain and simple. Either refund our money or give us what we paid for! This is ridiculous!!

Just PDFs

I won't comment on the actual content of the magazine, aside from its well laid out and colorful.
However, it is not optimized for iOS in any way. It's just pictures of the pages of the print magazine. The table of contents doesn't link you to the articles, and there are ZERO interactive elements like there are in "TRVL" or Engadget's "DISTRO".

App does not work!

I am very displeased with Honolulu Magazine as I am unable to read the digital issues I subscribed to. If this is not fixed soon (was told last month it would be fixed within a week but still not working) then I will cancel my subscription. PLEASE FIX HonoluluMag !

No Aloha For Print Subscibers

If New York Mag can figure it out, why can't Honolulu. Pacific Badin Communications should be ashamed of this blatant money grab.
