Flawed app

Not user friendly able to pay credit card when abroad if no access to credit card app. Customer service not very helpful.

Terrible interface

Tried to sign into ABNAMRO but it would not take my log in. Now it refuses to go forward or back and sign up. I closed ABNAMRO but it goes back to the same screen. Very frustrating. A bank this size should have developed an easy to use interface app. Had to delete ABNAMRO to start all over.

Poor services for a high price

I would not recommend this bank!
For such a big bank (in the Netherlands) its services and app functionality is poor.
There are far better and more reliable banks out there!

Can’t create account in app

I’ve tried about 20 times over the last 5 days to create an account through ABNAMRO (which is a new feature) and I’m given a very generic “There was an error. Please retry later” message after I take my photo. I’ve deleted and redownloaded ABNAMRO several times with no luck.

I couldn’t open a bank account via the app

I couldn't open a bank account via ABNAMRO . After I scanned my passport and took selfie, it shows "something went wrong" error.
I've tried to open an account from different phones and systems in different days and received the same error.
The same story happened to my friends

I don’t like Dutch banks

ABNAMRO is fine, but I hate needing my phone whenever I have to make a payment or transfer on my desktop, and I hate that I can’t use my debit card to purchase things online unless it’s a Dutch website set up with iDeal. I also hate that I am charged .5% to deposit cash into my bank account. I don’t think I like anything about this bank.

Too many things referred to browser

It’s nowhere near as comprehensive as the apps of the US banks I’m using. No way to send emails to any within ABN AMRO, and when I needed to change address information, they refer you to Internet Bankieren, for which I need the physical token (which I haven’t used in years). Not customer friendly, and potentially breaching new GSPR regulations as I cannot easily have my own personal information updated.

No notifications and weak user experience

1. You can’t set a notification for when a direct debit is announced or for when your balance changes every online banking have this feature.
2. It is hard to find a transaction as you have to go through many steps to just do a simple filter on transactions.

Stop Asking Us To Rate The App

Around ten times a day I get a notification asking me to leave tips on how to improve in ABNAMRO Store.

Here’s the tip: stop asking for them! Stop annoying me with notifications to give feedback. It’s desperate and frustrating. ABNAMRO is generally great but not this. Make it stop in the next update, please.

4 stars for great customer service

Had to change this review from 1 star to 4 stars because of Jeremy's excellent customer service. Immediate response to my concern, I was super amazed! One bit of feedback to developers: if ABNAMRO is under construction, please have a banner that displays it is under construction so customers don't think there are issues with ABNAMRO or they think they are doing something wrong.

I waited until the next day after they were done with app maintenance and updates, and all is working just fine. Thank you!

Needs a lot of work. I can't log in using my Touch ID, I can't log in using my 5 digit identifier, I can't see my accounts because it won't let me "add" my accounts since my checking and savings account don't show up in the menu that allows you to choose which accounts to have on your main page. I try to click to other options and ABNAMRO gives me an error message. Tried to download ABNAMRO again and I'm still experiencing the same issues. Not convenient at all

Good app with 1 major opportunity

Been using for several years. Good app. Simple to use and the English version is greatly appreciated. I wish there was a budget option that would automatically categorize and chart expenses (groceries, clothing, taxes, insurance, énergie, ATM withdrawals etc...) and allow for user to label (and save) expenses that are harder to categorize. Would make monthly budgeting easier.

Please stop changing formats and layouts!

It might be pleasing and satisfying for you to make it look “better”, but the changes are disorienting and almost never an improvement

Good but unnecessary tweaks at time

Dear app team,

I obviously like ABNAMRO for years.

Today the last update really annoyed me: why would you need to increase the vertical spacing between accounts?? We now have all that white space in between and it make that the bottom accounts aren’t visible anymore unless scrolling! Can you use the same spacing in the accounts view as in the “self service “ which is much better.

If you want to tweak this, at least make it a setting like “compact mode” in Gmail to keep the compact vs extended view.
