Just one thing missing

I know that a mobile app can’t possibly fit all the same features as a fully fledged website, but just one thing: the virtual check register. This has been very helpful at home when I am done with the day, but I would appreciate the convenience of being able to update right when I have made the transaction, in case it doesn’t always show up - like a check or a pre-authorization that a gas station or hire may not immediately charge to my account. And I know that I could just use the notepad on my phone, but it’s so much better to have it synced with my account so you see that side by side comparison of balances.
I am very happy to say that this is my biggest complaint. I do not agree with many reviewers who say the UI is crappy. I find it fairly intuitive. Maybe a bit too much white space, so what? I especially appreciate that all pending expenses immediately deduct from my available balance, but deposits and credits don’t show as available until they post, so my risk of overdraft is extremely minimal. Long live this app!

Broken VoiceOver Compatability

This is an ap that I have been using most every day, but now I can't use it with the most recent update. VoiceOver compatability has been broken. Please fix this problem, as it will be a deal breaker for me if I can't conduct banking business on-the-go. It will be very much appreciated if this ap is made accessible again! Your visually impaired customers are as interested in mobile banking as any other customer.

Wow, this ap has improved so much! Everything reads with voiceover now. Thank you very much! I gave it a 4 rating only because of 1 issue left that needs to be fixed. When I try to use bill pay, I can't enter the money amounts. The numbers are there but when I double tap on them nothing is entered into the field. Wants this problem is fixed, I will most definitely come back and change my rating to a five. The improvements are huge though, so I think you very much!

Fix the App

With minute loading times just to log in, constant bugs and errors when checking my accounts, and a slow response when clicking almost every single window, VACU needs a massive overhaul. I constantly have to sit and wait minutes to log in to just VACU and even more time to actually view my accounts. I love banking with this app and when the apps does work, it performs well, but too often am I stuck having to wait hours to check VACU later to see if I can even log in. Sometime I need to transfer money on quick notice if I forgot a bill or loan was coming out one day, and VACU just gets in the way too often. Please this app, please reconfigure your app and hire someone to actually design a better system that will not fail as often. Banking is a top priority of some many people and to not have access to finances in a moments notice can be serious.

Almost unusable at times and getting worse

Over the past 6-8 months VACU takes forever to load, seems to hang at times when viewing account info, and sometimes times out during an operation. Have rebooted phone and deleted/reinstalled app. Nothing works. Website works fine and internet connectivity is not a problem. It is VACU itself. The back end needs to be fixed to ensure VACU works correctly and user experience reflects the quality of service the bank is known for.

While adding access to bank account and routing numbers is helpful there needs to be a way to also see other account info, such as interest rates, bank to bank ACH transfers, and e-statements.

Could be worse but also could be much much better. The slowness is the biggest issue that needs resolving.

Where’s my credit score?

I’ve been trying to get my credit score using my iPad like I’ve done in the past. Not only do I not see a box to click for the credit score, the screen turned white. I logged out and came back to the site, the screen is STILL WHITE! I uninstalled VACU then reinstalled it. I haven’t checked the progress yet. Disappointed!! It has been a great app in the past.

Stay away from VACU

This bank is obviously greedy and not interested in the bank holders. Stay away. Far away. During the big drops in interest rates the company didn’t take any interest in keeping me or my mortgage with them. The people on the other end of the phone were completely not helpful and at least one of them was really unprofessional by taking personal other calls when I tried to talk to someone about our mortgage. Now they have restructured their fees and they are nickel and dimming me for keeping a small amount of money in their institution after I found another bank willing to take on my mortgage. Additionally I’m told that they are also nickel and dimming their employees as they ran off my realtor for all sorts of cuts to her commission and numerous fees for her to work for the company.

Memo on Posts

I appreciate that the ap was updated to permit a memo on a transfer; that enhanced the ap to move my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars.
I would like to see that memo when I click the post in Accounts for the transfers.
I would also like to see what the deduction was for are when I click the charge, if possible. Maybe, that is a limitation in what is received from the business who forwards the charge.
Otherwise, it is a very good ap.

It would be helpful if you were able to see the minimum amount due for your credit card rather than having to wait for your statement or log into the actual website

VACU

I mostly use this app as my savings account. Regarding the mobile app it moves extremely slow and it doesn’t have a lot of features. I had to log into the computer or browser on my phone to realize I had more features. Also, when i transfer funds it doesn’t transfer automatically or maybe it does but it lags for little bit so i have to exit the mobile app and come back in. So far it’s been a good experience besides the slow loading on app.

Mobile Deposit stopped working

Update: I was contacted by the developer, who instructed me to contact member services so they could troubleshoot. Apparently a canned response because if they read the review, they would see I did that already and their solution was to uninstall and reinstall, which didn’t work.
Mobile deposit no longer works, leaving me with no way to make a deposit, as I no longer live in VA, so no branches I can go to and deposit via ATM. “App support” is a joke. They tell you to go make a physical deposit. Sure, I’ll take a day off and drive 6 hours to my nearest branch. I’ll get right on that.

Getting better

I love how easy the this app app is. The only downfall is that as of recently if I transfer money from one account to another, it doesn’t show up automatically. Even if I force close VACU and open it back up, it still doesn’t represent the correct amount in my account. One thing they have improved on is if I transfer money to my credit card, the funds shows up automatically.

Unreliable banking app

Constantly getting error messages when trying to use “bill pay” - have been getting the error message that says “THE DATA COULDN’T BE READ BECAUSE IT IS IN THE WRONG FORMAT” yet there is no troubleshooting info, nor contact info for help using VACU . I called the number they suggested for the bank HQ and the woman on the phone said she didn’t know what I was talking about. VERY ANNOYING! We switched to this app to pull our money out of the big banks, kinda regretting it now because at least Bank of America had an app that worked all the time, never had issues with bill pay or logging in.

It’s gotten better but come on...

VACU has gotten a lot better since it came out but is still missing things. You can login with Touch ID, which is nice and I have appreciated that upgrade. But I can’t do an external transfer in VACU even though it’s set up in my account?? So bizarre and annoying to have to log in to the website to transfer money to an external account, when I already have it set up. This really needs to be added to the mobile app!

Keeps getting worse

This is a nightmare to set up. Each time there is a change to their website VACU goes buggy and doesn’t work. Doesn’t sync with website and information on deposits and transfers lags for 2-3 days. You will be locked out after three failed attempts and the only way to unlock is to call during business hours. On the few occasions it works it’s great and I love the biometric password when it works. Just as I got the eye/pupil thing working they quit it and everything had to be reset. Not happy with it but what else can you do?

Can’t even use VACU . Every time I try to sign in it tells me to make an online banking account which I’ve had for over years now and the point in VACU is the make things faster that I can’t even use.

I love VACU but I HATE this app.

There is no excuse for how watered down VACU is in 2019. I expect more capability than just viewing and transferring money between accounts. We live in an age where people would rather change financial institutions than deal with a poor mobile computing experience. Please update and redesign VACU .

Definitely needs to be updated for iOS 12.1.4. Oftentimes VACU will become unresponsive and close or fail to log in. Generates an error message at login that states “Could not log in. Data format is not correct.”

The UX is a nightmare

Nothing makes sense and there are so many categories that are poorly named. I love this app - don’t get me wrong but I have had to go in to the branch to pay because I have had so many issues with VACU . I design apps for a living and VACU is nearly unusable for me. Connecting an external bank account has been such a difficult process. I would recommend simplifying the experience by naming things better or providing simple instructions on screens. I really want VACU to be helpful but so far it has been more of a disappointment.

Can you please add a feature to VACU that you can edit your bill pay....like change the amount or change the day you want pay a bill...instead of deleting the entire request or having to log on a desk top...Also can you have VACU also pay for your credit card on VACU ....

Locked out

I had deleted VACU due to an update with Bill Pay that caused scheduled payments not to show resulting in duplicate payments and NSF fees. WHAT A MESS! I was told by member services to ask payees for duplicate payments back to correct the problem. Now that my sidewalk is iced up and I have disabilities , I re downloaded VACU to make an online deposit . A onetime PIN to get into app was emailed to me for verification . I tried the number twice and am now Locked out. Looks like I will have to wait until ice melts on my sidewalk to get to the bank. Deleting this useless app again.

Terrible

App is terrible. Capabilities are very limited. Basically all you can do is view accounts, transfer money from one account to the next, and mobile deposit. Not to mention it looks like VACU was created in the 1990’s

Features I wish the app had

I use my phone more than anything else because it is convenient. I love having VACU but it is inconvenient that it doesn't show due dates or minimum payments for credit card use and I'm also constantly looking for my member number or account numbers that I can never remember! I wish VACU had a profile that included each of those things.

Bill Pay Issue Fixed

this app implemented a new bill pay system with this latest update. The bill pay feature did not allow you to schedule payments through the mobile app. It has since been fixed. Thanks this app!

Deleted the app and just use browser now

Tired of entering password every single time and having to reset Face ID every few days. Also have the time it wouldn’t even log in, just circle ⭕️ of going nowhere. It used to be “ok” but now it’s super annoying and it doesn’t register “this app” in my passwords, so I have to type it out every single time. Maybe I’ll try again some other time?

Can’t connect when mobile

When I try to use VACU when I am mobile, I can’t connect. I actually parked in the this app parking lot and still couldn’t connect using cellular. Turning wi-fi off on my iPhone doesn’t help. It defeats the purpose of a mobile app if I can only use it at home connected to wi-fi.

Changing banks - app is nonfunctional

On multiple devices VACU is completely nonfunctional (I’ve already wasted over an hour on the phone with support). This was extremely annoying at first but now that all branches are closed thanks to the pandemic that was the final push we needed to close our accounts and jump ship.
