What is AAA? AAA Mobile is a mobile app that provides on-the-go access to trusted AAA services including trip planning, discounts, and roadside assistance. The app offers a mobile version of AAA’s TripTik® Travel Planner that helps users find AAA Approved and Diamond Rated hotels, restaurants, and attractions, and the ability to create and share itineraries between desktop and mobile devices.

Features

Please fix it AAA

Original review(May 5, 2019): I have been trying to open this app so I can share it to my son (New Driver)to teach him how to access it aside from calling in case he needs help from this app. I had used it twice before without any problem, it knows my location right away and response was quick but lately it keeps on searching a network then it will crash then it will bring me to a link to take an on-line survey. It has been more than a week that it is doing it. Come on, please fix it. UPDATE(May 6, 2019): I can log in now after what the developer suggested me to do,- uninstall the this app app then reinstall it. I have to do the same thing on all my this app app in my other phone and tablet. I salute the developer, though, for replying to me right away. And for that, I will update my one star rating for them to four stars. 👍🏼

Differences between phones

My husband & I use the this app Drive app because the higher our score the bigger discount we get on our car insurance premium. However, it seems that my iPhone5S records a lower score for the same trip in the same car at the same time than my husband’s iPhone5S. The phones were right next to each other in the same position. On one trip, my phone started recording 2 minutes later than his phone. In addition, it does not seem right that I always get “dinged” on “steady driving” when I drive in Madison, even when my Prius ‘score’ is high regarding acceleration, stopping, cruising. Starting & stopping is what city driving is. It is necessary to stop for stop signs/lights & to start again when it’s my turn or the light changes. I’d like to know what the algorithm is to calculate the composite score. Is it multiplied by the number of miles? So longer trips = more steady driving weighs more than the shorter trips with lower steady driving scores?

App Works Well, But My Issue Is With AAA Drive

The way this app grades your driving is ridiculous. I get dinged for “time of day” when I drive home from work at 4pm. It’ll say “Stay off your phone” and give me a 2/5 rating for mobile distraction when I haven’t even touched the phone. I don’t know if it’s accelerometer-based rather than noticing if your phone received a command, but I can only assume that the lovely Detroit roads are setting it off. If you drive for more than what seems like 20 minutes it dings you for “fatigue”. And don’t even get me started on the “Smooth Driving” category. It basically expects you to just run through all traffic lights and avoid stopping altogether. Works okay if you take the highway but it’s impossible to get good marks if you drive in the city. If I drive any smoother it’s because I’m going way below the limit and causing traffic and making everyone around me angry.
