Annoying to Use and WARNING: USELESS

WARNING: There is no warning for a first-time user that you can’t save or export anything until you sign up for a monthly subscription!! it should really warn you. I already bought Lychee slicer. Don’t need to buy another one. Just thought I’d use something on the go. Not buying it. Also, it’s very frustrating to use. Trying to turn the mesh will result in unwanted holes and supports being placed.

So so close

I have been waiting for a iPad slicer for years and Pikaslice is the beginning of something amazing. However, there are a few bugs that I’ve run into that has haunted my use. 1. I can never get the file to print, machine shows a file but no preview and it will act like it’s about to start but then stops. 2. Rafting, I notice that when I add a file the cursor and the file are far apart, I thought it was weird but continued on. Once I added a raft, it showed under the part but then all the way across the screen to the cursor that is out of the printing area. I’ve have tried for ever to figure out a fix but I haven’t been successful. I’ve been talking with the creator on Reddit so I’m hoping that these can be address because I really want Pikaslice to succeed.

Some features seem to be bugged

I really like the idea of Pikaslice! However, the key feature I need for success is not working. I have a mesh with a bunch of little pieces and I keep trying to separate the pieces using the separate shells into objects function, but they still only allow me to transform them together. I tried the toggle edit mode to see if that’s the setting I needed to move them independently, but whenever I use it it either crashes Pikaslice immediately, or when I click on any of the separated parts they vanish and there’s not even an undo function to bring them back so I have to reupload the mesh. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I’m really not sure and there’s no tutorials online talking about this specific issue

Only certain printers

So far Pikaslice is really great and Pikaslice is easy to use. But apparently after this recent update, my ELEGOO Neptune 3 pro won’t show up in the machine selection. I was able to select it in the past, and it worked perfectly and now it just disappeared. But I can find all the other ELEGOO 3-D printers, but my Neptune 3 pro won’t show up. If you guys could add this back in, that would be awesome.

Lots of trouble with anycubic mono x 6k

The program seems very easy to use, however whenever I go to print a model it shows up on the lcd screen like it’s printing. However after it prints the first layer on the plate the print stops physically, but the lcd still shows the print going. I have updated firmware, but still can’t get a proper file read. At least that’s all I can see it being at this point.

More features please

I’m new to this but learning a lot quick, Pikaslice seems nice, getting used to the slicing process before I very soon get a 3d printer. I will try this for at least a month but there’s more I want/need. I’ll be getting a filament printer, it’d be nice to see settings for infill, types of patterns, layer height initial layer height cooling settings, speed settings layer width etc, pretty much all of the advanced settings. If Pikaslice already has it I’m having trouble finding the advanced settings. I’m also afraid of the no print problem people seem to have but I am going to give it a try first

Fun

Great to use in scenarios when I am tired of reading and want to attempt something creative.

Only certain printers

I have an anycubic vyper and it only takes Kobra.😢 I would like it if the vyper would be included too. But other than that, it’s really easy to use and control. The filament supports sometimes go right through the other parts of the model though.😡

Great start

So happy to see an iPad slicer - good job on getting this going. Holes / drains are pretty easy to use. Hollow seems to work well. Supports are a little unpredictable and for whatever reason I keep creating extra supports when I’m trying to delete them… may need to make that a bit more intuitive.

Developer was quick to help me solve a perceived problem with overlapping shells by having me use the “Separate Shells” feature… this solved my problem… adding a star!

Easy to use

Easy to learn and use only thing I wish that could be added was an more manual cutting option. As of now you can pretty much only get a thing that lets you cut in half. I have an apple pen and think it would be nice to kind of draw where I want to cut objects at or at least click and adjust lines for where I want to cut

Awesome slicer

Ignore the haters! Most of the bad reviews are because people are upset that they have to pay someone for their hard work lol. After trying all the different slicers on Pikaslice Store this one is on par with many of the best and the price is right in line also. (I’ll never understand why people think they should get stuff for free). The software works great and has a ton of features compared to most apple App Store slicers.

Continually Improved Slicer

Slicing a model for 3D printing involves lots of different factors. For this reason, learning to use new slicing software requires patience, and this is as true for this app as it is for S3D, Prusaslicer and every other slicer. That said, this app is improving all the time and already includes an excellent feature set. Full use of this app will require modest fees. However, as you become more familiar and adept at using it, you’re likely to feel the advantages this app offers are well worth the price of admission.

Another sub? Yes! Worth it? Yes!

Originally I left a different review, but after understanding a few things and trying out Pikaslice in depth, I thought I should change it. So, yes you have to pay to save and export but for me, who’s a 95% iPad user, Pikaslice is one more thing I can do from anywhere. Prep my files then send them to print when I get home. Less time at my desk seems worth it. Now about Pikaslice : it’s very easy to use with really great tools. The interface is compact and it has nice customization features.

Need help getting started

Can’t figure out how to use this. It is very likely user error because I am new to the technology. I don’t have a computer and have used a slicer only a few times on my sons computer. I would love to be able to interact with his 3d printer without having to use my sons computer. I just need a beginner guide to get me started. On my sons slicer all I have to do is upload files. I can’t get any files to upload into this. It is probably because I don;t know how to set it up to get to that stage.

Thank you!

I reached out to Marc the developer to see if he could help me use Picaslice on my iPad to slice for my Phrozen sonic Mini. It requires a PHZ file Picaslice didn’t support at the time. Marc sent me a test file and then added my printer to Pikaslice . I can’t thank him enough. I can use my printer for the first time with my iPad.

Fantastic Slicer

I have been using this slicer for almost a month now. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but all slicers are. I copied my settings from Lychee and haven’t had any issues that aren’t of my own doing; I bounce between resin manufacturers and not all setting are the same. That being said, the support is fantastic as when I first downloaded it it didn’t save in my old Elegoo Mars’ file type. I let the developer know and he had an update in only a matter of like 2 or 3 days that was able to save in my dinosaur format! Yes you have to pay monthly for it, but I don’t see this as too much of a negative since it’s a good working portable slicer!

Great Slicer

I use my iPad Pro a lot and this is hands down the best slicer on Pikaslice Store for the iPad. There’s a small learning curve but there is with all slicers. Very reasonable price per month and you could tell the developer cares about the product they are putting out. 5 stars for me!

Very easy to use.

In really love Pikaslice and is very easy to use once you get the hang of it and have presets set up. Thanks again for Pikaslice. It’s awesome! I’ve made made so many prints with Pikaslice. It’s become my go to app no when resizing and slicing.

this app

Pikaslice is awesome. This is the best slicer app on a phone. I 100% recommend Pikaslice. I had some trouble on Pikaslice where I couldn’t find my 3-D printer, but I just played around with Pikaslice and I finally fixed my issue.

Awesome slicer for the iPad!!!

I am new to resin printing and just purchased an elegoo Saturn 3 ultra. I sliced up some minis using this slicer and had no problems printing the files on my first go. I don’t have a laptop so Pikaslice is essential for me. The interface was easy for me to figure out. I’d totally recommend this slicer to anyone. It’s great to use a slicer with a touch interface, it just works!

Wish list: WiFi printing with my elegoo Saturn 3 ultra.
