Once upon a time I was able to choose whether the default display was month, week or day and it would stay that way. I could tap on a day of the month and that day would open. Now when I tap on an empty date in preparation to enter an appointment the empty date doesn’t show up, all the appointments near the empty date fill the display. For whom is this a helpful feature? Why is there no option to turn off this feature?
In the olden days there was just a dot for every appointment on a date, you’d have to open the date to see the appointments. Annoying but dependable. Now the first appointment shows up in the date and if there are others it says “other”. At a glance it really looks like there is only one appointment on that day. Instead of making “other” bigger give me the option to go back to dots. One dot, one appointment, 8 dots, 8 appointments.
Just a few versions ago I was able to choose holiday calendars from anywhere I wanted. Now it’s only USA holidays so I have to hand enter holidays for home. I can probably change my region but then I can only operate those options. When did Apple become so attached to nationalist ideals? It must be about making somethings more expensive in certain areas.
Calendar tries to be intuitive by providing what it thinks I want by default, but it’s more like when a child is being helpful and a short task become a long one that requires loads of patience. The difference is I have no love for Calendar .
Just fix it.

I used to be able to search when the last doctor appointments were, certain trips, special days using key words. Now, unless the event I’m looking for happened within the last year, I better be around my computer or have a paper this app that goes back far enough. Limiting the search results times was a decision that greatly lacked foresight and kills user ability. If they wanted to add an option to select if you wanted to limit search results fine. But there are a large number of people who are getting different calendars now or searching for a workaround for iCal. Please remove the limit.

Please update your this app! It is the worst this app app! When I open my this app, I want to see a quick view of my month. All you provide is a bunch of dots that tell me I might have something planned that day. That doesn’t help me stay focused and organized in the slightest. Instead I have to open each day individually to see what the dang dot is. ( I know, first world problems). This is why I use google this app. Way more user friendly and I can easily make changes to several of my calendars at once. I can easily glance at my this app and plan events. I just wished it had the seamlessness most all other apples apps have with iPhone, but it doesn’t because it’s obviously google. If there’s anything apple truly fails at. It’s Calendar right here. You’d think that with a multibillion dollar company that probably makes thousands of events, plans, and meetings per day, they’d have a solid this app app. I’m willing to take a bet that not even your own employees use this this app for their engagements. It’s a shame!

Befire, i enjoyed my this app. Used it far more than my peers. Now, it’s bad. I doesn’t show details in notifications (in widgets?). There’s no setting for me to ask it to allow details, which would be similar to messages app *if* i wanted privacy. This should be MY choice. The settings features under general are pretty limited. I can’t even choose if i want banners as notifications. Etc. It’s not there as an option. Calendar now groups my notifications but won’t allow me a drop down to show more/less. When I open the first notification on top, the rest of them disappear… I i lose all my reminders. The last few weeks I’ve missed 3 important birthdays! I’ve also been late on a budget tasks & missed a salon appt due to problematic Calendar is now futile, erroneous & irrelevant for me. Before, i loved it!
Suggestions:
- fix these bugs that render it useless!
-Add feature where this app also texts you.
-Add feature where this app has more choices of reminder timelines.
-Add feature where this app can have improved notes such as links, photos embedded.
- allow a feature where you can add the same this app data to multiple dates. For instance, you can add “Tara’s party to Dec 1 & Feb 3 at once vs going in and inputting separately.”

This Apple app (and others*) has stunk for over a decade. The minimal improvements needed to make it functional could easily have been fixed by now. Utterly useless alerts will ruin your day if not career bc in spite of complaints going back to 2008 about how silent they are and other issues, Apple is a trillion dollar public company and doesn’t care bc they get their money with phone cycle sales n other subscriptions. So this app, Mail and search features on the iPhone etc never needed to reached true functionality bc Apple got your money when you bought their phone. So why bother…leave it to the 3rd party app developers to create one. …but oh, that’s a workaround bc they’ll most likely not integrate into the Apple system as well.

Personally, I don’t mind Calendar itself. It’s easy to use, but is lacking in some finer details. However, that’s not the issue I’ve been having. I’m the past 10 days according to the battery statistics in the settings, the this app app has been running in the background for 27 hours. It’s absolutely daring my battery and I can only get about two hours or so on a full charge if that. My battery life is only 87%, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’ve tried everything to fix it that I’ve seen suggested online, but nothing short of deleting Calendar (which I did recently) has fixed this issue. This is a huge issue and because the this app app killed my battery, it left me in stranded on the middle of downtown Atlanta at 2am without a way to contact anyone for help. I have no idea what to do and if it was the latest IOS that did it but something needs to be fixed.

Liz I quite agree I had this this app and took it off my phone it drained my battery also and put me in jeopardy. And I’m not talking the game jeopardy. But I was in the middle of a town that I didn’t know and it was the middle of the night and with a dead phone you have no contacts. I also decided to get a tiny phonebook which you can buy at like a dollar store usually and write my closest contacts numbers down. We probably should all do that anyways specially if the Internet goes down and your phone goes dead. I decided and I did make a 3 x 5 card for all my friends and I keep it at home in my safe. We’ve come to rely on electronics far too much. There’s nothing wrong with a pen and paper or a pen and a 3 x 5 card for back ups. But I did get rid of this this app and I chose a different this app that’s worked well for me. Good luck

I rely heavily on this this app app, it’s simple, organized and connects to all my devices. But recently I have been experiencing events dropping off my this app with no trace or warning. Things I know I have put into my this app verified it’s there and then a week later cannot find it. This is causing me to look into swapping to another this app app. I have a very very busy schedule and one dropped event can cause a cascade of issues, not to mention loss of income. Especially if I know I am not the one deleting events.
Also there’s no way to turn off multiple alerts for basic events- like birthday this app & contact this app showing up in duplicate and triplicate on the this app. Not happy
by Cazzy_knickers
Since the recent update, I’ve had a huge issue with event locations. I can either put in the name of the place that I’m going or the address, but Calendar can no longer find the exact place I’m looking for. For example, if I’m meeting a friend at a specific Cheesecake Factory for lunch and want to put that in my this app, I’m more likely to only get hits on my search from multiple states away, even with location data turned on. This never used to be a problem (I could, in fact, search by location, which appears to no longer be an option). It’s super frustrating because I’m very directionally impaired and need this information to function. Fix this Apple!!!!

My wife and I have used this this app for years and almost use it as a diary of knowledge for past doctors appointments, etc…but for some we get notices that one of us deleted or changed something on our shared this app…when we actually did nothing!!! It is very frustrating, but I wish there was an option Not to Approve the Change. Instead the only option listed when a change is made is “ok”. I need an option to say “NO”…
by Ro-lover
Calendar itself is pretty good, and it has its use’s. I noticed something that can happen when you are looking at the years. If you are look at the years where it shows all the months, you can scroll through past years. I scrolled and scrolled. Apparently people were using this app before frigin christ! I could have scrolled to the years where the dinosaurs were if I was enough time. I thought that the past years would end about the time this app was created, or like if you scroll ten years ago. My point is that it makes no sense that you can scroll that far into the past for no reason.
by BlackMisfit
I have been using the this app app on my iPhone 12 with iOS 15 but it has a basic flaw. I understand that the graphic on the actual app on the home screen is limited with information like day of the week e.g. Tue 23. However on the small square widget it provides the same information as Calendar . Come on now you can fit 9 apps in that widget, you could not at least provide more basic info than Tuesday 23 🤔
A month in front of the 23 and a year behind the 23 would be nice. I will even settle for three letters for the month e.g. Nov, if that helps speed up the process. Everything else is okay.

There are important things that need to be fixed, but not a total remodel of Calendar. A complete overhaul would be a pain, just like what happens when most APPs do a remodel. A needed bug to fix would be changing time zones to standard names.
Last I checked, Cupertino is in the Pacific Standard time zone and Washington DC is in the Eastern Standard time zone. When I’m entering an appointment in Washington DC on the this app App, I expect to enter Eastern Standard Time.
Using other time zone entries than what is standard, causes a lot of difficulties, frustration, and missed appointments!
by StephLRivas
The this app itself is fine. Works for my day to day entries but the little glitches are annoying as the one strand of hair you feel on your face and can’t find to take it off. Right now my current this app annoyance is I deleted an entry on March 4,2022 and it’s now March 8, 2022 and every time I open my this app this entry pops up open. I’ve deleted this entry time and time again. Not sure after how many years of Calendar if I will decide to delete it and find better one.
by Ryan Mathew
I would like if they added the ability to classify an event in multiple calendars.
Also, notes within the event could be more intuitive. I love taking notes on my day, so a daily journal entry option within this app would be great, instead of having to create a short event and write an entry within the notes section.
I’d also like the ability to add bullet points in the notes section as well.

I really like the widget! Would it be possible to make a full size widget? Or make the largest widget scrollable? It difficult to see events on the iPhone app - I really love the widget view but it doesn’t show to much. I would be thrilled to see more events in this new layout.
I also wonder if it would be possible yo add anniversaries from our contacts.
The other thing I would love to see is a way to check off birthdays (or anniversaries 😃) I don’t want to see in my birthday this app.
I love that birthdays tell me the age the person is turning ♥️. Would love to see anniversaries to celebrate any event tell me how many years.
Really trying to use only the Apple ecosystem to keep my information secure and safe. These would really help me to do that.
Thanks for be willing to listen. It means so much. 😊

Needs to integrate with Reminders to catch up with Google this app & Tasks, Outlook & To-Do, and every popular this app app on Calendar Store
Let events be pinched down to 15 minutes, not 30, like on the iPad
Ideas:
Easily toggle multiple calendars on and off either by tagging them or arranging groups
Design a way to view, edit, and easily share your availability over a span of time to anyone with or without iOS
Optional full-screen alerts for when an event starts, like an alarm. Sometimes I need my attention aggressively pulled away from what I’m doing
Count down to events by year/month/week/day/hour/minute with notifications and a dedicated widget, as a way to extend the concept of early alerts
Match what Google is doing with automatic scheduling of repeating events. Machine-learning-based predictive experiences are very in vogue rn. Make em useful
Optionally show weather conditions with animations similar to Weather within each event. Like a visual way to say “it will be raining or very windy during this event”
Optionally show sunrise/sunset times or indicate daylight in some way
Offer a… idk what to call it. A card view? The thing Readdle’s Calendars has. It’s nice

I like how it’s set up when you open events, and I like how you can set it for all day, especially when somethings happening all day, I guess in my family sharing we share a this app so I can see my parents in it, even though that’s none of my business, sometimes I have important events so I have time to jot down there on my this app and schedule it for the time that I have to come, Apple‘s this app is actually very useful, and you can also set alerts for your this app to remind you when it’s time for the event, it has much better quality than Reminders that reminder as it is also pretty useful, especially with school, sometimes I wake up late and I’m late for school and reminders really helps me wake up in the morning so I don’t forget when it’s time to leave and when it’s time to wake up so I can leave

How do remove a duo overlay screen on my iPhone Plus 8 and how do I restore my iPhone this app rather than the blank screen no invitations which is false because my schedule is correct on my iMac desktop and Apple MackBook Pro M1 chip. We are switching to MetroNet because we have been breached prior and internet Wi-Fi trespassed without permission consents. Previous computers such as Dell Laptops and Dell Desktop were breached with an overlay screen and cursor overlay that was unusual for how a computer would behave.
Seeking assistance on fixing the this app download. Fixing our telecommunications breach remote access. Correcting the overlay and entry through computers and printers we did not authorize while being aware to prevent trolling and unethical subliminal marketing advertising promotion agents online as fraudulent criminal activity. The Apple product is fine and my husband has an updated iPhone. However, in terms of cost all don’t need to update immediately on a family educators budget.

Is anyone else dealing with the same issue?! Calendar has worked flawlessly for years. All of a sudden with new updates meeting invitations are no longer showing up. I followed all of the directions on forums to reset and ensure settings are correct. I have missed several appointments due to them being in my mail as attachments but not showing up on my iCal. Furthermore, when I go into Mail open the attachment and add to this app it still does not show or give the option to accept.

Needs a major UI change. Compared to Google this app it’s lagging behind in many features. Firstly the ui is just uninspiring; don’t wanna make you come back. Then the thing looks outdated even after the iOS 14 update. Google this app was the dumber one a few years ago but they took note from this very app and did a better job. Now it’s time for the Apple developers to take note from Google’s developers and make this Calendar better again.
by Amir R. Muntasser
I actually like Calendar and how it presents information. I also like the widgets it comes with. There are some UI issues I could gripe on, but nothing that would make me not use Calendar. But I can’t use Calendar because my work this app is in Google and Calendar doesn’t get push updates from Google so it’s always 15 minutes behind due to a sync. Which means I miss new this app invites or updates to existing events or I get notifications for events that have been deleted because it’s always behind.

How useless this is to not even be able to print your own this app out. There is no button, no option to be able to do that. Staggeringly overlooked. It virtually makes this program useless for me as I need to print my month use out to pencil in information... I also don't like that I cannot more individually make something stand out, with a color, or a thicker font... Way overdue for some upgrades!

I used to like Calendar, then with some update about a year ago it started changing my existing appointments. Reminders would come up a day early all of a sudden and that defeats the purpose of the reminder for the date and time you set it for. The reoccurring reminder set to one day a week end up going on every day and multiples a day the farther out you go. It is also increasingly annoying to shut off these reminders as there is no stop button. I am looking for something else.
by KoowanPStark
Single most annoying feature is auto bulk downloading birthdays of dozens of Facebook people I barely know. It pollutes the dots that tell me an event is taking place. At this point, almost every day of the year has one of these notices so I have no clue if something important is happening or if it’s just another birthday of some stranger so I use the this app to tell what day it is, that’s it. It’s useless for anything else.

I use Fantastical to display Reminders and this app events. I don’t like Fantastical’s interface; I prefer Apple this app and Reminders. But…Fantastical lets me show reminders on the this app, which is great as an overlay on a schedule block (e.g, if a time block is set for errands, the reminders show on the this app, on top of that block, as particular errands I intend to do within that time block).
Just add this, and I can save the subscription fee. Thanks.

I’m a huge Apple product lover from iMac to iPad, AirPods, to Apple Pencil however the eye this app can definitely use some upgrading. I love how on my desktop from my iMac I can view my whole month at a glance and see everything in the squares however I’m not a fan of the list version on the iPhone I wish the iPhone also had that same feature.
by RedCandy
It would be nice to have more customization options, like pick and choose which holidays I want on my this app or make days in the past be gray. Make travel time customizable like on MacOS. Create additional travel times and save as options. Finally, the this app app is boring. Could use a little flair.
by A2tjer
Compared to other 3rd party app this is about as barebones as it gets. It’s like Apple gives you a this app app and you can see dates.
Lack of settings to optimize the interface.
I would love to see color bubbles on dates to distinguish if the meeting is from work or personal this app.
More this app views with one that allows for full this app in portrait mode without showing day events. —-> also add which this app the event is from and text of events per day.
Widget could be added to show full month this app view and daily events/meetings for that day in same widget (medium widget size that contains both).
by Kasbar9
- Need ability to set default event time to 30mins.
- Need ability to quickly add an event.
- Need more granular info on month view.
- Additional views in general would be nice.
- The ability to see multiple days in landscape orientation is great. Need a similar way to view multiple days in portrait orientation.

Dear Apple:
Thank you for making iCalendar and including in on all your iPhones, iPads, and computers. I appreciate it. I use Calendar every day, every night … all the time! I enjoy it and rely on it. The organization is intuitive and easy to use. Thanks for a great foundation.
It would be helpful to me if there were a diary function not related to events. This would be helpful to note things which happen on a particular day. For me, I’d like to note when an individual died without making a recurrent “event” out of it. If you could add a “sticky note” function to iCalendar, that would help. However, a full on diary would be the most help.
Again, thanks for a good app. I appreciate it.

On the preview of Calendar pages a name and location coincided roughly with a random text about a girl I dated in the early 80’s who recently had posted some pics of her marrying the guy next door just the other day after moving to LA so it seems a this app app can be useful even before downloading it. Either move to LA for a relationship or get married? Lol.
