This company is a scam

Do not use this card! It is a scam. I haven’t used this card for a year and last week I got a letter in the mail saying my card had been compromised and there were fraudulent charges. The only way to dispute was to send in a letter to the company which by the time I received their letter telling me about the fraudulent charges, my time had expired. Spent hours on the phone trying to talk to a person or get the correct department to dispute the charges just to be told they can’t do anything over the phone and I needed to send in a letter. So I decided to just take the loss and at least close my account. I got the runaround with that as well. Pass off from one call center to another, told they couldn’t close the account. Finally was able to get the correct person on the phone they said they could put in the request to close my account. I said can I get a confirmation number that you are closing my account? They said they have to send a request to get a confirmation of my request to close my account! Insane! So I’m hoping now that I get an email in the next two weeks confirming my account is closed because they said it will probably take 2 weeks! to close the account! Lol. Also since they were unable or willing to do anything about the fraudulent charge the balance will be coming out of my deposit that I had to pay to open they account. This company is evil.

Worst service and app ever

This is the worst app I have ever used. The recent update can’t even find me in the system and it says I do not have an account. When I put in my card number to get my user name it says the card number is invalid. Every time I try to get my user ID it never sends the email with said information. My husband has constantly had to pay a $10 fee since the beginning because FirstProgress never worked for him so he had to pay over the phone and he was told it’s just how they do things. I’m really disappointed with the service and will most likely be canceling my account for this reason. So much for helping people trying to get their credit built.

Terrible app

Don’t allowed you to make a payment and when I finally did I got an confirmation number a weeks later I see that the money don’t show coming out of my bank statement so when I called them. They told me I got hit with a late payment! How ?? It’s not my fault your app don’t work. I send the payment there app don’t work. So I try logging in again to submit another payment now FirstProgress tells me I have to call my bank and make a payment threw bill pay.

Terrible app

So I tried making a payment on FirstProgress and of course it said that they. Couldn’t process the payment for no apparent reason whatsoever..and then when you call the customer service number they charge you $10 to make a payment over the phone..which makes absolutely no sense to me at all..other than the card is a money making scam!! Just saying so if anyone here really needs a credit card I implore you to look elsewhere!!

FirstProgress is absolutely terrible, you can’t make payments ever on it, or on their website, it always gives an error. setting up bill pay through the bank is an alternative but takes 10 days for the payment to actually go through, and when you call the customer service they charge a 10$ fee to pay whatever payment you need to make towards the card. terrible app, terrible company, they’ll plummet your credit score.

Out Dated App! No Customer Support

FirstProgress blows. I tried to make a payment and it tells me to pay online through my bank account. FirstProgress is useless and no one at the company can answer your questions or resolve your problem with making payments through FirstProgress . They make all this money but can’t hire ANYONE to fix FirstProgress or when they will update their service. Even you activate your card and speak to a representative they have no clue to what is going on with FirstProgress . They just want your payment. Boooooooooooo

Horrible company

Horrible company! When I make my payment every month, they take my money and then don’t give me available credit for over a week. Meaning the money gets taken out of my account and given to them and they do not adjust my available credit for over a week for me to be able to use funds again. Clearly they are holding all of our money so they can make interest off of our money and we can’t do anything about it. awful way to do business tells you a lot about the owners. Very sad that these crooks are allowed to get away with what they’re getting away with.

The worst

I’ve been calling these people since dec 19 of 2023 for my refund of 200$. And I have been getting the run around since. I’ve calling these people atleast 6 times now. Each time I get a different story or excuse. Once time I got hung up on. I would not recommend anyone to do business with these people. I was told that I never sent a deposit until I told them that o have the email showing that they received it and that it was taking out of my bank account. Then I was told that I have to withdraw the account first. Then it was we can’t find my information. Then it was my address changed. I’ve had the same address for over a year now. Then I get a letter saying that I have to pay them 43$ on January 20, 2025 for an account that I don’t even have. Do not give these people your social because they will make you up an account and charge you. I was told 3 times that I will be receiving my deposit back since dec 19. First it was within 3 to 5 days now they are telling me within 15 days. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone to do business with them. I knew I should have never sent that deposit. If I could put negative stars I would . Y’all don’t deserve a star. Thought it was a legitimate company because they was found through Experian.

Worst option for credit/ fake 5 star reviews

Do not use this terrible service, captiol 1 is better and only use this card if you have no other viable option. It’s always slow. Customer service is beyond poor and they do not accurately track your payments. If I could give it a negative star I would. I recommend any other company besides this one. You can pay on the 15 th and it will take 14-19 days to show that it was paid and it has low limit for secured cards you’re better off using cap1 Amex discover or any other card service. Closed my account and never coming back. First progress is absolutely terrible.

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Company

I’ve had nothing but issues with this company. Their app doesn’t work, their website is unreliable, and trying to make payments is a nightmare. To make things worse, they charge you fees for making payments over the phone, even though their app and site are completely unusable.

Customer service is non-existent—they don’t answer their phones, making it impossible to resolve issues. On top of that, they charge late fees even when payments aren’t actually late, and good luck getting your money back if you have a secured card. It feels like they’ve set up their system to trap you with unnecessary fees.

Avoid at all costs if you value your time and money.

Slow

I always pay my bill using my banks bill pay. For awhile things were great. I’d set my payment for a Friday and my account was updated by the next day. For. The last 2 months, though, it’s take over a week and it still doesn’t show my updated available balance. Makes my bill paying hard to plan because I use this card to tide me over between paydays.

Update: yet another month, the card has been paid in full, the money taken out of my account and my available credit is STILL not updated a week later. Do you not have someone that can program your computers do things automatically? Are you upset because I pay the card off every month and you don’t get extra money from me?

Extremely Disappointing Service

have had an ongoing issue with this credit card company that has caused me significant stress. Despite setting up an automatic payment, the payment is not being processed as it should. When I contacted customer service, they were unable to resolve the problem or collect the payment over the phone.

To make matters worse, I am still being charged late fees and penalties, which is completely unfair given that the issue lies with their system. This situation is now affecting my credit score, which is unacceptable.

I expected better from a company of this size and reputation. I urge others to be cautious before relying on their payment systems. I hope they take immediate steps to resolve this issue and improve their customer service.

I hate this card

I was told by my credit monitoring system I had a late payment from First progress. When I called they said we don’t have that in our system. Then i checked again to get the date correct and fp said “oh” if you want that off you have to write a letter blah blah blah.
I’ve been with fp for 3/4 years and I’ve never been late. Then they checked the system further and seen that I had written a letter months prior.
Why is it not taking care of months later if I write a letter.
FirstProgress is useless, you can’t pay over FirstProgress most of the times. And to have to wait 7-10 business days to reflect a balance is crazy. I hate fp and there business model. I would never up my balance with them because they have no room to grow. This card should help ppl trying to build their credit but it’s the opposite. It’s

Fix the entire process please

App is horrible, allows you to pay sometimes on FirstProgress then it completely shuts down and says you only can pay through your banks website then it takes about a week just for your payment to come out of your bank account to a week for them to update your balance on the card. And it does show all of the transactions like a normal debit card would back to back, it skips transactions and payments on the timeline. Make FirstProgress better and have better service when paying the bills the money comes directly out at that moment and refresh the balances at that moment or maybe a business day or two. And also the points stay pending for weeks and you don’t really get them until you pay numerous times on the card by then your just waiting for a lot of transactions to come out of your own money and bank account because the time frame of the payments will never be on track because the system

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE FIRST PROGRESS

This has to be the worst credit card and the worst app ever created. From the very beginning, anytime I made a payment it would take 7+ days before it would show in my account. This made me worry that I would be charged more if the payment didn’t go in by the time it was due, even though I always paid at least one week before the due date. What really became the final straw was when I tried to make a payment this year and was told that I reached the maximum amount of times I could pay in FirstProgress . I had the card for 1 year and would sometimes make 2 payments a month as I heard that helps gain credit points quicker. I had to mail in my last 2 payments which, unfortunately, is faster than paying in FirstProgress . The reward points system is also garbage, it said pending for MONTHS. I closed my card and didn’t get to use my remaining $5 reward because of how incompetent FirstProgress is. After closing my account I was told that it would be 2 weeks before they officially closed my account and 10 weeks before I would receive my $200 down payment refund. Do yourself a service and look at literally any other credit card.

Had a card for a $200 limit, never used FirstProgress because of how bad it was. Ended up spending $15 on it and forgot to pay it back, ended up racking $60 in late fees and my credit score dropped 100 points. No email, no phone call, thought I never used the card so I didn’t even think to check. Do not go through this credit card company.

App payment not working

Everytime I try to make my payment on FirstProgress is says it’s unavailable. I call to process the payment over the phone and it costs me $10 extra. Not really fair since FirstProgress not working is not fault of my own! Otherwise not a bad card. Simple secured card.

No chip on card

The card would be a lot better IF it had a chip, but it does not & some places will not accept the card for certain kinds of transactions. 🙄 example. Car Rentals

Great card to start credit

I have this card for about 3 years now, thanks to this card that reports every month I was able to bring my score up and apply for and actual CCard with a good credit limit, I occasionally used it but never had issues with payments always make payments 15days before my payment is due and always pay the entire balance it’s a great ccard for those with no credit at all or bad credit don’t understand the bad reviews.

It’s a good choice

Most people don’t like it because you can’t make payments on FirstProgress but you can set up bill pay with your bank and pay it that way. I use my mobile bank and my credit score is increasing. Give it a try
