I just joined us bank about four days ago and I still can’t get on my online banking I tried everything I am not happy with this bank at all unless somebody out there can tell me how to get onto it I get to a certain point where you got to sign your name electronically and I can’t get it to come up I’ve tried and tried so whoever made WesBancoConsumer maybe can you help me please

Ready to move to another bank!

I was attempting to prepare my mother’s computer after the changes recently made at Wesbacno. My name is on her account too so I really did not anticipate issues. I put in the required information…name, account number and last 4 digits of her Social Security Number. Then I needed a security number but the system said my cell number was not accepted so I called the number given and waited and waited until the line just went dead. I waited over five minutes with the dead line and hung up. I called again and waited and waited until the line went dead once again. I gave up and called our local Barnesville Wesbanco. No one answered the phone but asked for a message. I left a message and my number at around 2:00. It is now 4:10 and I have received no return call. If this how WesBanco prepares for some changes, I cannot imagine what they would do in the case of an emergency. I was with First National Bank in Barnesville but started with Wesbanco when it opened here. This is not the first large issue I have had but it will be the last. I am moving on and would NOT recommend this bank to anyone, not a child learning about savings or an adult looking for a bank for their living needs.

What a very poor execution of a banking app

I’m religiously checking my bank balances because I’m constantly putting deposits in and constantly paying my credit card down. So when the new app rolled out, I couldn’t log in FOR A MONTH! Constantly had to change passwords. Now, since the new app rolled out, no thanks in part whomever updates balances since WE NO LONGER SEE WHAT A RUNNING BALANCE IS ANYMORE, I’ve been OVERDRAFT TWICE! In all the years I’ve banked with this bank- my bank was bought out 3x over 20 years, these are THE first times I’ve ever been overdraft! I said it the FIRST overdraft and I’ll say it AGAIN, WesBanco did this to MAKE MONEY for them, not to help the consumer! If they DONT implement the changes- show a running balance like before AND immediately update balances when purchasing is made? I WILL go to another bank! It’s just that simple! Profiteering during a pandemic is a SHAME, but through banking apps? It should be illegal!

Mobile App/Password Recovery

I am constantly running into authentication challenges with the mobile app. Why offer Face ID login if it is constantly not usable? Why offer password reset if the option for texting verification (which is the only option) isn’t an option because my correct cell phone # isn’t listed and yes it is listed correctly on my profile.
Stayed with this bank because it originally was my hometown bank and accepted their limitations- WesBanco is not a small town bank- expectations are much higher. With banking going virtual, staffing needs to migrate to improving the quality and ease of that experience.

New update is horrible!!

The old website would show you the debits from your total amount and the new version does not. I no longer get a notice when my ebills are due and no longer shows the amount I owe when I pay a bill! I now have to go look up my email to get the amount I owe, so annoying and time consuming! I signed up for online banking bc it was supposed to make paying bills easier and the new version just makes things harder! Not a fan of the personal finance feature either bc now I have to add all the accounts/bills I pay again when they are already added! So annoying! I used the online bill pay bc it’s supposed to be convenient but not anymore with this update!

Disappointed in Wesbanco

Their online baking system is almost unusable. I signed up for online banking with Wesbanco two years ago. I needed to deposit my paychecks online because I was going to be out of the area for long periods of time. I have four paychecks per month to deposit. I am frequently getting my deposits declined because of too many deposits in a month.. 4 !!!!!!! They are not large checks. I’ve had my account there for at least 30 years and they turned a deaf ear to my issue of declined deposits. They said it was to prevent bank fraud. In 30 years my account has hardly ever even bounced a check ! I have a spotless record at the bank but they were no help whatsoever.

Nothing Special, Missing Key Feature

WesBancoConsumer does the basics one would expect in a baking app, but missing one key feature that was in the previous version (and just about every other one I've used): running balance. Does the balance as reported include pending withdraws and deposits? Can’t tell. This information has to be available since I can see it on the web site, so not providing it is a real detriment to usability and seemingly easy to implement. I looked at the configuration options (there was only one) and didn’t see it there either.

BTW, the business version has the same flaw, where it’s even more critical.

Good Functionality, Poor Design

Overall I think the functionality of WesBancoConsumer improved with the new version but the way the transaction activity is designed is terrible. The transaction descriptions were much more in depth in the old version. I checked my account today and say activity marked as “Internet/phone transfer” with little other information. After a moment of panic, I realized this was a transfer I made from my checking account to my savings account. The old version of WesBancoConsumer used to specifically say “transfer to savings account”. Definitely room for improvement here.

New app

I truly hate WesBancoConsumer. I hate how you can see every account your name is tied to. For example, my parents name is on my checking account (as a secondary person) in the event anything would happen. They now can see what is in my checking /savings all the time. Same with me seeing theirs. We asked if we could just have our own show up, but they said they all have to be there in the “home page”. I hate having to scroll through 4 different accounts to get to my account. I also hate my savings account being on their “home page”. I also prefer the way the old app displayed the activity with the running balance etc.

Worst bank app

After fighting to figure out which new app I needed to do my online banking I find that the new app doesn’t have any of the features that were relevant to why I even used WesBancoConsumer such as accessing my account number and most importantly the ability to set a spendable balance! All the new app seems to have done has made the text bigger. This is the worst banking app and everything, I have overdrafted three times now because it takes over a week for transactions to show and become pending, I’ve gone from over $200 in my account to the negatives, purchases don’t show up on the correct date, and will often double withdrawal!!

Worse than the old app

This is so much worse than the old app it’s almost funny. The transactions looked so much cleaner and simpler, now every transaction just looks really cluttered with unnecessary info. My main problem though is that it used to list what your updated balance was with each transaction, which I really liked. I was able to scroll back each month and see what my balance was then vs now. Now I guess I’ll have to keep my own records to track my finances, which isn’t the end of the world but kind of defeats the point of having an app at your fingertips.

Missing feature

The new app is okay. I personally liked the old app but I’m sure this will grow on me however one feature they need to bring back is total balance after every purchase. For example say you have $5000 and withdrawal $100 for something. The old app would have that deduction then $4,900 under so you could follow after every purchase your account total just like your desktop. Some reason for me that allowed me to follow my account better and I’ve always loved that. Please please Please reinstate that.

Needs some updates

It wouldn’t let me pay a bill on a Saturday because it says they don’t send out checks on weekends. The old app used to. Hopefully I don’t have to do bill pay during banking hours.

Also, I can’t find where to do transfers, for example to transfer money from checking to savings. I had to do it from my computer. It was always convenient before to do it from WesBancoConsumer . If these get fixed, I’ll update to 5 stars.

Online banking

Since WesBanco purchased First Sentry Bank, the online banking has been nothing but an aggravation. There has been and is currently an issue with the online banking locking me out and is confusing to use. Online banking does not have to be such a hassle. I am almost to the point that I am going to close out my account and switch banks. I am currency being told that my session is almost over and I will be logged out. Again, this shouldn’t be an issue. I can’t even sent this review because I must have a nickname and all I have chosen are currently take . Just one more example of how much of a hassle online banking at WesBanco is.

Balance on each amount taken out

I wish you hadn’t removed the balance posted with each withdrawal. That helped me keep track of how much my balance was and kept me from overdrafts. It’s much more tedious now that is is not there and causes me a lot more time to keep check on what I have in my account.

Disappointed by the “upgrade”….

WesBanco is a great bank, but the old app was SO much better. UI on the new app is horrendous. What’s with the random picture of a couple holding a tablet? It takes up almost a quarter of the screen. Really? What a waste of valuable real estate for an app. The “Spendable Balance” was very convenient and actually useful. PLEASE do not have the “Enable Face ID” radio dial button checked as the default option on the login screen. I do NOT want to use Face ID. My last gripe is with the color scheme…the darker green on the old app was MUCH more visually appealing and contrasted better. Perhaps a refund from Fiserv is in order?

Terrible

This is one of the worst banking/finance apps that I have ever used. I have had accounts with this bank for many years, and WesBancoConsumer has always been terrible. WesBancoConsumer is super glitchy, and requires a password change at least every other month (which can get to be confusing). After talking with other customers, it seems this is a common trend with many online bank users of Wesbanco. A little off topic, but if you are needing to call the 1-800 number after getting locked out of your online account the wait time to speak to a representative is incredibly long.

Don’t fix if not broken

New app does not show balances right away I was able to pay my bills and the money taken out and show new balance now I can’t even submit bills on the weekends or holidays the old app I used to set that money aside and knew that it was being transferred at the first opportunity and what my balance was after my bills I just do not understand how they think WesBancoConsumer is better than the last when we lost a lot of features and tools to help us with our balancing of our accounts

Spendable Balance

The one thing I loved about the old app was the spendable balance. I was able to input an amount I needed to save which allowed me to know my spendable balance. I knew I was not going to use that saved money I put aside for a later bill coming up. It was a great “at a glance” budgeting tool. I will be signing up for the personal banking, hopefully that’ll provide me with what WesBancoConsumer is lacking.

Decline in features

New app does not show your current balance at the point of each transaction, making it hard to keep track of money and balance check book. Also slow showing transactions, I added money today and paid a loan that don’t show in my log but balance reflects.

How is it possible in any way that you think the new app is better or more efficient than the old one? It can’t even display text or graphics correctly, nevermind the loss of Face ID to log in and the missing transactions from history…

This is not an upgrade…this was a mistake.

No FaceID? Password Invalid?

While I commend WesBanco for making platform changes, I am frustrated at the communication and lack of support.

For starters,I had to download a new app. Why? This could’ve been released on the existing app.

Then my password was forcible reset in order for me to change my password. Why? I was happy with my existing password.

The old app migrated to Face ID authentication a few months ago. Now we have a new app with no Face ID. Are you serious? You make users migrate, but lack support for Face ID right out of the gate.

Rest of it seems a bit better, yet nothing groundbreaking.

Not good so far

No Face ID option. It doesn’t not show pending transactions or any information for the past 3 days. My current balance and available balance are astronomically different and I have e no idea why since I can not see any transactions. This is ridiculous.

Very Inconvenient

The old app was great. This new app is very inconvenient. Changed all the names of my accounts, the setup is weird and seems like a very cheap fix, none of my accounts are updated reflecting my true balances. Unable to sign in with Face ID on iPhone. Very disappointed with WesBancoConsumer “update”.

Terrible update.

WesBancoConsumer no longer gives you the amount you need to cover pending transactions coming out of my checking (pending bills) for a 2 week look ahead like the previous app. I used this info constantly to help me budget. Bring it back please. All you did was give account balances. And very basic stuff. This update is definitely lacking in functionality.

New app is trash

It’s missing a few features that the old app had. It no longer will let you use the touch login for android or Face ID for Apple. Makes you send a security code every time you login, which great more security, but also makes the login process longer and annoying

Couldn’t get anybody to give straight answers, got cut off several times still nobody to fix new app problems! Transferred to capital one!

The new app offers less features, most importantly the feature that allowed you to see a spendable balance. There is no way to determine how a scheduled, upcoming payment out will effect the total checking balance. Please update with this feature!

You've really got to be kidding me. The old app was bad enough but this one keeps telling me my password is incorrect and the fingerprint will not work. I cant even see what I've just typed....this is nuts guys. I'm tired of getting codes texted to me or it says it sent one and I don't get one. You really blew your money, correction our money on this one. To the CEO Please do better and earn your six figures.
