Missing iOS Wallet - Identity/License Card Integration

I love the idea. The way it is implemented currently is adequate. Sometimes clunky/oddly designed, but adequate. Unfortunately there is zero integration with iOS (including not working with iOS wallet app) at all besides running the actual application. So, instead of double clicking your power button and there’s your ID, you have to pick your phone up, show it your face or touch it or type a passcode to unlock it, maybe exit an app, scroll to the actual app among 1,000 other apps (not to mention there are other, similar looking this app dmv apps) and tap on it, wait for it to certify/load, tap a privacy mode, press share (or the produce barcode data button), and FINALLY show your massively inconvenient mobile ID to whoever is asking for it. Two clicks is much, much easier. The API exists. Please use it. :)

Pros & Cons

Pro: convince and very well may save you from getting a ticket if you do not have your physical permit / license on you, if you ever get pulled over - though working at a driving school here in AZ we STILL recommend our students to keep the physical copy on them at all times if possible. With that said, people think about their devices more than they would typically think of their wallet these days so I can see why this would exist in today’s society! Cons: scanning of your actual face glitches and took some time setting that part up. Personal opinion - this is great but we are creating a more lazy society by not relying on our brains and own personal decisions making or to remember basic things… I see it even in newer vehicles. I still choose to be mindful and be self efficient!

Pretty cool!!

This is pretty cool do you have your drivers license picture move pretty cool I think a holographic 3-D would be a little better more realistic to the way people look because quite honestly they really look like their drivers license picture I know I don’t which would be something to think about having the license match the way the people actually look reason being if somebody were to commit a crime but they don’t they need the public to keep an eye out for individual motor vehicle picture easily brought up to view as the photo that everyone looks at but it’s not realistic anybody that looks like the drivers license picture I think definitely 3-D scanned images on peoples phones or you would be onto something better there getting yourself closer to total recall

Good job.

I guess we were one of the lucky ones. Went to the local DMV. When we entered there were no lines was able to update our drivers licenses and get a new title on our vehicle which would indicate handicap. The lady at the desk was wonderful. She was more than helpful working through this procedure. I know it’s not always that way I’ve been going there for 50 years. Many times I’ve had to wait for over an hour. But this time we were able to complete our task in a timely manner. We did research what we need to have with us before we went. We had all the documentation that we needed which was very helpful. Good job this time.

Couldn’t Be Much Easier

I don’t usually rate an app one way or the other, but this is one that’s worthy. ESPECIALLY because it’s a “government” app. Regardless of who created it or whatever…I’m impressed that it’s easier more efficient & up to date than any other Local, State or Federal application in my experience. Admittedly I haven’t visited every one of them, however this one definitely was well thought out and easy to navigate to accomplish the several tasks on several occasions. Kudos to everyone who was involved in the implementation.

Can’t get it to work on iPhone 12 Pro

No matter what I did I can not get Arizona to take a photo of my license on either side. It says there is a frame to put my license in but the frame never appears. The closet thing to the frame is a single white line on the on the left side of the screen for taking the photo, but no matter how hard I’ve tried I can’t take a photo of my license. I really like the concept of Arizona and would certainly use it. Please, please update Arizona so I can take a photo of my license on my iPhone 12 Pro. Thank you.

I’ve since talked with two different people on chat and still get the same results, unable to detect AZ driver’s license. I believe they said they are bumping this problem up to engineering. Is there a way to manually enter the information into Arizona ?

Easy Renewal

Arizona made it easy to renew my wife’s driver’s license without having to make an appointment. Then it made it easy for me to make an appointment because I needed to renew in person. I should also note that the in person process was also easy, quick and efficient. MVD has come a long way since the days of long lines and slow service. They’ve done a good job of incorporating technology, albeit maybe slower than some would have liked.

Fricking Worthless

Great idea! If a mobile ID was actually useful for anything! Want to buy a pack of smokes, DENIED! “We need a hard copy”. Oh, a hard copy like the paper one they give you while waiting for you replacement license? “NO! A regular license!” Ok, we’ll maybe I’ll just go get a drink to take my mind off the nicotine withdrawals…”DENIED! We only accept real licenses!” Ok, guess I’ll pick my granddaughter up from school…. No I won’t. Not without a “real” license.
The only purpose Arizona has, from what I can tell, is for the cops, who can look up on their computer whether or not you have a valid license.
App works fine, it’s just a waste of space on my phone because it’s completely useless!!!!
I would give it zero stars if I could!!!!!

Good start

Great to be able to have your license on your phone! Surprising that our AZ would be an early adapter!

Arizona is easy except for the facial recognition part, where you have to connect dots “using your nose.” Sounds easy but it took a frustrating number of tries, and Arizona ejects you if you have too many unsuccessful tries, and you have to start at the beginning again.

I think the key is not to move your head too much, and to just go slowly. The line of dots you’re working with is kind of jumpy, so I think it’s easy to get ahead of it, it can’t keep up with you. In the final image, once you’ve succeeded, there’s just a very slight motion effect; so again don’t overdo it with the head movements.

For the convenience, at least within AZ, worth the efforts.

Please update app

Arizona was working great however since iOS 15 and the new iPhone's came out it no longer works correctly on the new iPhone 13 pro’s. Me and the wife both have an iPhone 13 pro and it will not recognize our ID’s through the camera no matter the angle or lighting. I think it’s a software issue with Arizona needing to be updated to work with IOS 15 and the new iPhone's. Please update Arizona And if you could find a way to allow us to Add our ID to Apple Wallet would be awesome so we can keep our ID with our credit cards in one place. Thanks

Excellent App, but one missing feature…

I’d give Arizona/service a 5-star rating right now. But, the only issue I have with Arizona is the lack of Apple Wallet support. Please allow me to add my ID as a card to my Apple Wallet, so I don’t have to unlock my phone, and then open Arizona , to be able to present my digital ID. Other than that, the rest of Arizona /service is rock-solid and stable. Also, an explanation of what the “certify” button in Arizona is used for (and when it’s necessary) would be much appreciated.

Pretty interesting tech has evolved

It was a matter of time and being able to use Arizona allows you to control what personal info is shared and with whom. If someone needs to verify your age, why should they be privy to your home address? Doesn’t make sense. And you can update your address as needed instead of getting a new driver’s license produced because Arizona has it updated already!

Smart move AZ. Smart.

interesting concept - unsure of immediate usefulness

just heard about Arizona today and went ahead to set it up and tried to add my ID to my apple wallet - not an option.
based on the fact this system of identification is brand new, i also doubt it will be accepted as a form of legitimate ID in most scenarios.
hopefully this will change soon, otherwise i’m not sure what the point of it is when there’s no apple ID wallet compatibility to boot.
though i could have sworn i read that there was.

Denise M vehicle owner

Arizona is really good to have for easy identification purposes and to keep up with your vehicle’s information. I just recently found out that I still have the lien on my truck that’s been paid off for months now. I would not have known that till I tried to sell my car. Maybe that’s why no title has been issued i don’t know it’s my first time buying a car off the lot.
But I love Arizona !

Digital Nomad

The fact that I don’t have to carry my identification with me anymore it can live on my phone with my credit cards and all of the people I love his information and anything else that’s really important like my blood type or my emergency contact it’s amazing. Yeah!! Also it’s about time and when can my phone just automatically process what I’m thinking without me actually having to type it???

Super Handy!

This is the wave of the future! People lose their wallets all the time, so this will definitely be handy to not have to worry about that issue and since a lot of airline/train/bus tickets are already available on our phones, showing our IDS on our phone should be a thing, too. Plus I don’t have to worry about a stranger touching/holding my ID and forgetting to give it back

This app rocks

Glad this app presented Arizona to its citizens. It’s a little hard to get the pictures to take but I found not laying them on white paper is best. Use a dark background instead. Comes out really good and it even corrected my address in Arizona to my new one without me doing a thing. I was a little freaked out about that at first but wow, made it easy. Now can I use it at the airport when I fly?!

Great if more entities accepted it

Recently traveled via plane and accidentally left my drivers license at home. TSA at the Prescott Airport wouldn’t accept it. Luckily I had my DOT badge which TSA accepted. When I arrived in Dallas, the rental car company wouldn’t accept it. Had to get a ride to the hotel from a coworker, have my wife overnight my physical driver’s license, then return to the rental car company. In short, a waste until it starts to be accepted.

By

Convenient.

This is pretty handy for those of us who don’t always want to carry a wallet around. For those of you who say it is a security concern, you set your own password in addition to FaceID, so it isn’t like it is just sitting around waiting for people to look at, unless you’re an idiot and don’t set up the security protocols on your own phone.

Great update

Great update and modernization of driver licenses. Just so convenient and useful. Can’t wait to use it in day to day applications. Arizona set up was easy, however, the photo confirmation process was a little confusing as I had to repeatedly confirm my selfie. The tutorial should be more explicit. Other than that, it’s a short process.

5 Stars

First i tried from 2 weeks, took me 30 minutes between trial/error then i fedup and deleted Arizona !!!

I read about it again on Reddit then i decided to give it one LAST chance, AND IT WORKED in less than 3 minutes, i was shocked, probably they had some errors before!

Only 1 thing missing though, Apple announced that AZ can add it to Apple Wallet, so far i cant do that, not sure if its from Apple or from Arizona ?

I was able to add my Vaccine Card to Apple Wallet!
(I’m on iOS 15.1) iPhone 13 Pro

Hopefully the developer comment on my question and advice how to add it to Apple wallet?
Appreciate it!

Awful

Timed me out immediately after confirming link in app message. Repeatedly did that. Then deleted and redownloaded, finally got that part done. Then came the “selfie” part which was bizarre and poor directions. Again, timed me out after a minute or two (saying I had exceeded the 15 minutes allowed!). Instead of repeating the selfie process, it makes you start from the very beginning and more time outs. I deleted and the experience confirmed what friends and neighbors had said about this poorly-designed app.

Didn’t work for me.

First of all, I had a lot of trouble scanning my ID. Second of all, after getting my ID, it wouldn’t take my photo probably after 15 minutes of trying. Note: their website wasn’t even programmed to recognize a webcam photo. Their only option left online was to do a paid credit check. It used to be very easy to update information. The site isn’t the developer’s fault, but Arizona needs to be fixed. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, plain and simple.

AZ mID

I didn’t know there was an app for AZ. I created my account and everything was down hill from there. I thought it was very easy to use and setup. The QR scan was very helpful and getting it connected to my mID on my phone. Setup your online account first before using Arizona. Great app👍🏼💯

Technology working for you!

AZ Mobile ID makes sense! Trusted and verified and always with you wherever you go with your phone. I love the control it provides with the ability to show only what you want instead if showing all personal information. 👍

AZ Mobile ID

Finally something smart! This should be the way of the cuter for everything. Credit cards, banking, purchases. There should be no reason for anyone to have to carry around a wallet or any physical anything except their phone. Thank you this app for testing this!

Az I’d

I think this was a great idea
It’s as convenient as insurance cards on your mobile device
It’s also an excellent option to digging in your purse when you need to present it right away
Although I’d really love it if it made my appearance look 10 years younger lol
