Basically useless… the information it provided for my destination country is long out of date. The entry criteria changes were announced almost two months ago and the actual changes began about 4 weeks ago. The IATA app is giving false information.

Passport scan is not working and verify process while scan with nfc (passport) is not working too

Did anyone test this? If you manage to get your passport’s chip to scan, the verification step will fail with “Error: no description available” — super helpful. I tried it 10 different times, restarting IATATravelPass each time, same result.

Even better, you have to complete the profile photo and verification steps each time. So if your passport fails to verify, you get to start over from scratch.

Such garbage.

I believe IATATravelPass and process could change traveling in these challenging times, however IATATravelPass simply does not work. Scanning the passport, it picked up the wrong name somehow and there is no way to change or re-scan?? Now all certificates do not match with the name and get therefor rejected? Unfortunately this is where it stopped for me. Would love for IATA to invest a couple of more dollars into this and fix these underlying issues. I would be the first to retry and endorse.

The first screen of IATATravelPass asks if I want to “Sign in with Apple.” I click that link (the only working link on the page) and am asked if I want to sign in with my Apple ID. There are no other options so I select “Continue with Passcode.” The phone’s numeric passcode screen opened, I entered my numeric passcode, and a “processing” icon appeared. The icon rotated until my screen timed out. When I reactivated my screen I was back to the first screen of IATATravelPass . What can get me into IATATravelPass ?!!

IATATravelPass is practically useless at this point because it cannot scan the passport chip, which it requires for app functionality. Multiple persons have made the same comment on the reviews here. Please fix the issue or provide a workaround and have someone actually test the feature on an American passport before rolling the program out and looking incompetent. This is especially important if people are to trust your organization with their health and passport data!

IATATravelPass DOES NOT WORK.

Firstly, you can not do anything if you only login to your iPhone with a passcode. When prompted to sign in to IATATravelPass with my Apple ID and enter my phone passcode, I enter it - but then the spinning “processing” icon just goes snd goes until it times out, going back to the sign in screen. Cannot even sign in, making IATATravelPass totally dysfunctional for people who opt not to use face ID on their iPhone.

I saw another user’s review from a month ago (Aug 2021) reporting the exact same issue, so obviously IATATravelPass developer is either unable or unwilling to fix the issue. But wait - there’s more….

Interestingly, my spouse - who uses face ID to login on his iPhone - WAS able to login and get through the initial setup process. HOWEVER….

* IATATravelPass “could not find” our flight despite repeated attempts, and we are ticketed passengers with a flight coming up in 5 days.

* he could not enter his health documents (from the United States)

* IATATravelPass could not scan the chip in a USA passport, because there is none

Bottom line: TOTALLY USELESS APP!!!

As of March 21, 2022, app hangs indefinitely after scanning my passport. Other users seem to experience same issue.

Frustrating to say the least! I lost count of how many times I did the side profile/closed eyes photos, only to have IATATravelPass time out over and over.
If this is what people have to use for international travel make sure it works first.

Have attempted to set IATATravelPass up twice. Same result. Does not sync results to flights and leaves a spinning star forever. Deleting for good this time.

Frustrating app. Took three attempts to get past the passport/identity verification step (each failed attempt putting you back to square one), only to find out uploading Covid certificates are restricted to CA or NY residents in the USA.

So many things wrong with IATATravelPass. Does not cope with any variation to the expected. Erratic results. Turn head to left then try to read the instructions on the screen?

Can’t upload passport photo as IATATravelPass just keeps cycling through the scan and then asking for the photo again and again

As of 16 March, I’m able to log in, take my profile picture, verify I’m human, and take the picture of my passport, but then it hangs indefinitely. Closing IATATravelPass or locking your phone logs you out of IATATravelPass and erases any progress you made.

Hi. If I am a U.S. citizen traveling internationally and departing from the US, how do I select or indicate the United States as my departure country and country of residence? IATATravelPass will not allow me to manually enter the US, nor is the US an option anywhere in any of the drop downs. Please advise. Is there a different app for US users? Thanks.

It’s a shame that a well-known organization as IATA can’t get an important app like this right. As soon as one scans the passport, it goes back and ask the user to hold the phone near the passport, again and again and again. It also gives you the user one option after a successful scan “cancel”. If one thing IATA should “cancel” is their contract with IATATravelPass developer to retain their reputation.

No way to delete a flight that I added by mistake. No way to get out of flight selection after selecting a date. My flight was not listed so I tapped another one to close the selection and now it is forever in my account.

Took a few tries but it finally worked with US passpoet: scanned inside back cover with book open, top half of phone against bottom half of cover. Failed to connect a couple of times; read chip once but generated error; then worked.

Open the passport, turn to the back, place your phone on the lower part of the inside back cover. Move it around in the lower half of the back cover if necessary. My passport was too thick to read from the front.

It works well if you know the trick - most passports can be scanned with the front cover closed. For US passports, you must open the book and scan the inside of the back cover. But IATATravelPass doesn’t have that detail listed - so rolled are frustrated. The UI isn’t exactly pretty either, but it works!

I was invited my the airline to use IATATravelPass but my iPhone 12 Pro Max is not scanning US passport so IATATravelPass use useless because I cannot scan the chip in my passport. Furthermore, there is no way to bypass this step thus rendering IATATravelPass useless. There is no troubleshooting help anywhere online either. I am happy to review IATATravelPass again one they fix these issues.

After the profile picture, face scan, and manually entering the passport information the chip wouldn’t scan. Wasted 20 minutes trying to scan my passport and it appears you can’t complete any of the other information until that’s done. What a waste of time.

After entering the number given by my airline, IATATravelPass then asks me to login via my Apple ID. When I do that, it just gets stuck trying to load it up and it never does. I tried deleting it, and re-downloading several times, but nothing works. Please don’t roll out a garbage app when it has to do with such important documents like passports and COVID tests!!!!

Inadvertently chose an incorrect flight choice options not ideal) now the button that gives you the option to delete the flight (three dots) doesn’t even work!

I’ve tried several times the second verification of the passport but the chip scanner is not working, I received a message every time that the verification was unsuccessful and I can’t continue with the process to complete my profile.

App couldn’t read MRZ on a non-US passport. Since, it cannot read a non-US passport, it then must be able to read a MRZ on a LPR card (Green Card).
