I wish I hadn’t referred anyone to Envel. They have my money in limbo. Their core feature does not work. Show more pport, I see the message is read (they send read receipts) but I get no response. Imaging begging a banking app to use you’re own money because they failed at the one job the banking app is supposed to get right: showing you your money, and giving you access to that money. I can’t even take my money and go to another banking app, because no one at the company will help me in any way shape or form. Totally unfair

Seems like a lot of people writing reviews are excited about what this app MIGHT be in the future. But if you want to have a fully functioning bank, you really need to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, reading the fine print on their website will not help you, as they misrepresent their features. Case ... Show more in point:

this app says that their Shared Envelope allows you to have a shared account that “anyone” can use to collectively deposit and withdraw funds — kind of like a joint account. Unfortunately, this is a lie. Anyone who uses a Shared envelope must also have an this app account! Furthermore, Shared envelope users cannot transfer more than $1500 a day. So if you live in a household with shared expenses, you cannot manage your money if you need to manage more than $1500 a day (you know, like if you need to send your partner your share of the rent/mortgage payment so bills can be paid on time).

this app blames most of their problems on their partner bank, a tiny bank that is run out of Kansas City and doesn’t seem to be able to address modern banking needs. Further, if you want to set up bill pay with this tiny little bank you will either get denied access or be told this bank doesn’t exist. Very, very sketchy.

I’ve asked this app to update their marketing messages so they won’t trick future customers into believing it might work for them. So far, they have not.

Every time I try to schedule an ACH debit using my routing number and account number this bank will never pay it even though I have the money in the account. I waisted money on NSF fees for funds that were in the account. Their application is difficult to use, confusing, and the different envelope... Show more s don’t make sense. I can only basically store money can’t use the account to make payments very annoying. I would not recommend this account to anyone there are a number of better options even if you have a Chexsystems record, bad credit , or a non us citizen.

I joined this app after the closure of simple based on the promise of similar features and functionality. Envel is relatively easy to navigate but the core functionality is riddled with issues.

- there is an unpublished and arbitrary daily transfer limit of $1500 so if you have a larger ac... Show more count balance, this bank will likely be a source of frustration as you have to divide larger transactions over several days.

- the shared envelope feature seems attractive but doesn’t work half of the time. Initially it took me a day to even view the shared envelope and now I’m unable to transfer any funds into the envelope so I’m going to have to resort to Apple Pay or Venmo to pay my mortgage and bills.

- the customer service reps are kind but response times are extremely slow with no real way to escalate issues. Unfortunately they aren’t knowledgeable and tend to ask repetitious questions.

- presently there is no integration with acorns

This bank has a lot of promise but it’s not ready for the public yet.

I really enjoy the concept of Envel and really enjoy it but I recently came across a bug that when you pump gas at any pump station it takes away money before hand to cover the amount your about to spend but after it does not return the extra amount that was supposed to be left. Show more he same process but once you finish putting gas it just charges you the right amount but for this app the money never gets returned and takes away all the money in the envelope I made for gasoline. I contacted support but they took so long to return my money it was really annoying. Other than that Envel is great

What’s the purpose of envelopes if I have to keep everything in Cash just to make sure i can access my funds? One more thing irking me is that I have a constant message to update Envel but when I try to find the .2 version referenced I cannot find one. I’m stumped. I really love the concept of this mobile bank! I love the envelope system and I would love to use this as my primary bank. But, don’t think will happen just yet. Envel is way to laggy and non responsive at times and I don’t see it being reliable at the moment if you need to go and switch your card... Show more to a different envelope right away. Definitely gets a 4 star rating from me. I love the functionality, the anesthetics, the continuous feature updates, the way they communicate and stay in touch with their customers, and the "Humor Level" is a unique twist from a banking app. Please, as you guys keep growing and improving, don't chan... I'm currently using One, Finance and their 1ONE Card as my primary bank because they have one thing that this app DOES NOT HAVE: VIRTUAL CARDS. They are invaluable. This is the only thing keeping me from making the full switch and jumping in with both feet into the this app ecosystem. This is one area where the 1ONE card outshines this app. If they get this feature not only will they get my 5 Star rating, but I'll transition to this app for all of my banking needs. Keep up the great work.

After some initial issues with verifying identity, this account is working out great and is a better alternative to Simple which is now shutting down.

Are you telling me that I have to get use to having access to my paycheck on Monday or Tuesday after getting paid on Friday’s now? How is this a better bank? I’m not happy right now. Just had my first direct deposit post but says pending when I wake up. So what do I do now?

I was happy that this app launched around the time Simple was closing down. this app is one of the few apps that allows you to bucket your money into different envelopes for budgeting. It also have one of the cleanest user interfaces.

This is an app and bank that is super convenient with some plans to make it even more innovative. I look forward to the plans they’ve mentioned and seeing how much better making banking experience can be. The ability to change between accounts with one card is so awesome!

this app is changing the banking world. The way Envel helps you save money and organize things is amazing! Also they really listen to their users.
If you have a problem or suggestions they will actually listen and implement them as necessary. Give them a try you will be pleasantly surprised!

There’s been some gaps in-between on bugs and some inaccuracies towards Envel but the team actually listens pulling thru with discord channels to reach multiple support unlike other traditional banks this one is def... Love Envel ! It is super user friendly and honestly just fun and bright but also has a dark mode. If you’re trying to replace SIMPLE, I’d go elsewhere. There’s a couple of bank apps that resemble SIMPLE’s platform and a lot more simple to use without all the noise. ONE financial is one of them. They also have offers for us loyal SIMPLE users.

I am nervous because my next paycheck will be coming to this bank and I have rent that is due by the end of the month and I can’t afford to wait another week+ to receive my last 2 paychecks.

I thought this bank was going to be a keeper, especially since I invested $300 in the development for it.

I am pretty confident that I have been all out robbed by this banking app. A little over three weeks ago I opened an envelope count and promptly switched my direct deposit paycheck over. Couple days later I received my first direct deposit. But I had no debit card yet and then will does not offer A... Show more virtual card of any sort. So I am patient. Another week goes by with another direct deposit and no debit card. At this point I start to get anxious and I try to find a way to transfer some of the money from my this app account to one of my other accounts. Ha ha not a chance!I was blocked at every turn trying to get my own money out of your bank. I tried to contact some sort of support within this app. Never got past the chat bot. Except for once, I was told that Support was out for the weekend and I would hear back on Monday. I did but it was a canned response about a debit card being delivered and when I replied and asked another question, I was then ignored have sent several chat request since and I have been ignored. I even asked the chat but to close my account to which he replied that it would be done and I have been waiting in the money is still sitting in Envel just as it was before, no attempt to transfer it to my linked account. And that concludes why I think I have been robbed by this app. Thank you so much. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

I’ve been looking for a good banking app with an envelope system, and this is definitely full-featured and has everything I need, but this interface is just horrible. On-boarding was missing text prompts, app design is over-crowded, and the layout is not intuitive. I’m so stressed out by using it. ... Show more Maybe hire a good UX designer? UI is still not clean enough, too many cartoonish things. Also the blue accents and backgrounds for dark mode is unpleasantly playful and I wish it was greys. Also the joint envelopes can’t be set as default for AI. Like my individual bills envelope will never be used. My spouse and I will use my “... Show more joint bills” envelope only. I should be able to ask the AI to use that instead of the premade bills envelope. Or better yet, be able to share the premade envelope. Also and most importantly, I need a dedicated debit card, even a virtual one (so long as it doesn't show in systems as "Prepaid" like privacy.com cards) for each shared envelope. Our joint bills envelope needs a debit card to pay most of our bills. The rest can go ACH but most are paid with debit and can not pull from anywhere but that envelope. Keep it up, this is going to be the best banking service in the whole world!! You’re well on your way!! 😁👏

Envel is just amazing. I’m moving from traditional banks and going all-in with this app. I hope you’ll bring the feature to track our investment accounts.

Every Deparment is on it’s own ship , none of them are connected, not even the claims department, A friend of mine sent me Money using Envel to Envel , I even sent money to friends also , I was questioned about those transactions witch... Show more I find very Strange , I was trying to get a hold of customer service for many days but kept being sent to chat box & the chat box agent Literally took FOREVER to Respond, They could not even help when they finally responded they Jst closed my account 2 -3 days before my direct deposit with No warning or anything, the system kept saying “Uh -Ooh” or “No Connectivity” every time I logged in, & when I finally logged out thinking that maybe it’s an error & I can try to log back in , I was told My account doesn’t exist or it’s Not active, this is wierd af ! i Recently started using my account, hasn’t even been a month & they already closed my account! Didn’t quite understand how I’m the one trying to get in contact with you guys for help because my account was not letting me deposit any funds via cash app or Apple Pay because I was sent money from a friend using Envel to Envel , definitely not a good enough reason to close my account, but either or I continued to be patient just to lose complete access to my account because apparently thier no real Live Customer Service Support, I called the claims department an was told they Cnt help me , they were only able to process my claim , but my account closes right before my direct deposit and now I lost all of my Money with no one to ask for help! This Is Absolutely Unfair! Whoever runs this bank is in for Mayjor lawsuits from the right person!
