Negligence

Long story short, their app produces a direct deposit enrollment form with their old routing number on it. THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY AND GET YOUR MONEY TRANSFERRED TO THEIR NEW ROUTING NUMBER. That’s too reasonable & logical of a thing to do.

They said they changed to a new routing number after April 17th, 2021. I didn’t open my account with this app well after April 17th, 2021. However the direct deposit enrollment form on their app is still producing a downloaded form with their pre-April 17th routing number on it. Subsequently, my money was sent to the (old) routing number & account on the form. My money was deposited into their subsidiary, Metabank. These this app people can’t even contact Metabank to correct the problem and get my funds transferred to their new routing number. This is a nightmare.

It is May 8th, 2021 and they haven’t even updated Porte to keep it from producing the direct deposit enrollment form with their old routing number they stop using April 17th, 2021. This is negligence.

Several problems

1, the only good thing from this bank is the virtual cards somewhat.
2, Porte is always under maintenance and will constantly log you out for several hours, you won’t even be able to log in at all. They really need to stop doing this. What maintenance are you even doing..? I never see a difference.
3, If you have a subscription with one virtual card, and later on delete that card on this app, the subscription company still takes your money. this app should dispose that card completely. It’s ridiculous how much money is coming out of this bank and I don’t even know from which subscription I have ongoing.
4, I have a few transaction on this bank that I never made, so beware of scammers from this bank.
5, the transfer limits are a joke. They need to make it bigger for the people with more money. Not everyone is broke and transfers a little, no offense. I need to transfer a lot! They have so much to fix it’s ridiculous, but then again this is a small bank with a lot more improvement and needs better customer service.
6, customer service will never fully understand you, they’re just simply slow and don’t know what they’re talking about and never know how to help.

Very disappointed in new savings account changes

Effective January 1 of next year, this app is changing their requirements to meet the 3% APY on their savings account: to qualify, one must receive both $3,000 in direct deposits total in a quarter, and also use their debit card 15 times in a quarter. I can meet the deposit requirement just fine (and in fact have already done so ever since I opened my account), but I also strongly prefer to use credit cards for all my purchases due to cash back/rewards. I wonder whether they consulted their user base first before deciding to implement these changes? The relative ease of maintaining a high yield savings account was a huge draw in my decision to use this app and I was actually really enjoying my experience, as well as how responsive and genuinely helpful their reps were. Now it just feels like a bait-and-switch tactic.

Not off to a good start.

The routing and/or account numbers don’t seem to work everywhere for bill pay or linking accounts. Plus, it’s been two weeks and I still haven’t gotten my new bank card from them.

I called today, and they will fast-ship another one this week. However, now when I open up Porte , it doesn’t show me my balance and doesn’t contain the link allowing me to activate my card!!! Will this resolve by Thursday when I receive my new card in the mail? Only time will tell. But right now, I’m not happy and am starting to regret Porte.

Worst bank experience ever

Tons of bugs during the sign up process. And it caused you unable to login to your account and they let you call their number. And the number ask you for your phone number associated with the account. But at this step you have got any chance to put in any phone number or SSN into your account. After lots of failures it transfer you to an agent and they don’t know how to fix and then they put you on hold. Then the most wired part comes. While you on hold the system jumps back to the voice menu on itself and you have to repeat everything again, including explain the whole freaking situation once again. In the end the solution is to wait for an hour and sign up with the same email address again and see if the system has fixed on its own???

Buggy setup and failure of support

At every step of set up, I hit some kind of error wall saying I had to contact their support which translates to being on hold for hours at a time, and when you finally get through: support people who hardly can help. During account setup, before I even set up my password it locked me out of my account. Then once they finally let me access my account after accusing me of trying to setup multiple accounts, I tried to activate my card. Again errors. Support’s only advice has been to delete Porte and reinstall. It didn’t work so now I have gone through this whole process to end up not being able to use my card due to buggy software that they lean the entire user experience on, which to be fair would make sense if it worked. But that’s one big if.

Best mobile banking start

Downloading and setting up the account was super easy. The interface seems very user friendly with many features you don’t see in other products. Transferring savings balances over to my new this app account with these rates- you can’t beat them. Look forward to exploring more of the product as it becomes my primary source for spending in all retail and online spaces.

Wow, just wow.

I woke up today and my account was locked, so I called in and the asked for some documents because they need to verify I am who I say I am and that the name on the account is not fake. I say okay too easy what do you need, like a drivers license and a 2FA pin? Instead, they wanted me to email a copy of my Social Security Card, Drivers License, and a Proof of Address.

I was like woah, I already did this. At this point, they became very hostile and short with me. The man on the phone cut me off multiple times and would not let me ask my questions on why today when I was up is my account locked.

So I call back and I let the lady know that my new Social is in the Mail and it’s supposed to be here in about 8 weeks. She told me that there’s nothing she can do and that the account would have to close if you don’t want to wait.

TLDR; Out of know where after a year of being with them they locked my account. When called they asked for 3 forms of ID and would only unlock it once they had it. They became very hostile to communicate with and did not want to help.

I saw the 3% savings in an ad on my feed. I was skeptical at first but I read up on it and I love the look of Porte , so I am giving it a shot. I also like that they donate to charities on my behalf, that’s a great perk. They just launched it recently and are taking feedback, so I gave them some and look forward to future enhancements. Also love the card, very chic and safe since you can tap to pay!

Atrocious customer service

One agent didn’t even realize that this app has a savings account. Then I received an email from “Netspend” and thought my identity had been stolen, only to call the number and find out it was this app. And they locked me out of my account, and when I called they had the nerve to ask me to verify my info that I couldn’t access while locked out. And when I told them the amount of the transaction that was blocked, and was the reason I was calling, they didn’t see the transaction because of course it hadn’t completed yet. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, then they put me on hold for a while and then hung up.

They closed my account for no reason

I’ve been trying to use my acoount for about a weak or so. I just called them today, just to find out THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT ME KNOWING. I’ve been trying to pay my personal bills and I can’t because they closed my account due to “high risk activities”. When in reality I just fund my account, and make sure things get done on time. I’m not recommending Porte to no one, and if someone ask me to describe the experience I have just encountered. It won’t be pretty, very unprofessional, poorly managed, long waits for responses, no solution to any problem of this matter. PLEASE DO BETTER in picking a bank to trust with your funds people.

Worst bank and app I’ve ever used.

The card arrived after a long wait, then I added money to test it out. Within a hour I was locked out for fraud & the customer service people did nothing to assist. They claimed my information was incorrect. I had only one email/phone number at sign up yet they’d did nothing. So either this bank is extremely unsecured or the employees are actually the scammers themselves. I began receiving odd calls asking my name “saying who are you?” “Who’s phone is this?”. I stated I want the account closed and my money returned via check but I doubt I’ll see it seeing how ignorant the last broad was on the phone.

Banking at its finest

this app is great! Easy to use without any spending gimmick requirements! Just let your money grow!

I received an invite to the savings account the same day the 1k DD threshold was reached. I received my first months dividend on the 1st day of the next month.

The only thing I would change would be to link your other existing banks through Porte .

Love Porte!

I’ve had this card for about a month and love it! I needed something to separate my small business expenses and I originally went with Bluevine but realized they didn’t compare to this app! Yes with Bluevine I get 3 free checkbooks, business name on card etc., but their card doesn’t support instant transfers! this app does and I’m very happy with it!

Scam

This is a scam . I have direct deposit 2k weekly so I opened savings but one day savings account not available and not able to access funds that customer service says is available but they don’t have the option to transfer I would have to do it through Porte which is impossible since savings no longer available and app under maintenance and when I spoke to customer service they told me to deal with it until they are able to fix it in maybe a few hours

Beware

this app uses their 3% savings account interest rate to attract new customers. Many online banks use this tactic to grow in the early stages of their development. The interest rate will most certainly go down at some point. At which point any savings you’ve accumulated or transferred over will become incredibly difficult to withdraw because they have a daily limit of $200 that you’re aloud to transfer out of savings. The more money in your savings, means the longer it’ll take for you to be able to withdraw it

Improvement

I signed up for an account over a year ago but closed it because of the hassles I encountered.

I recently decided to give this app another try. HUGE improvement! The ability to transfer from accounts and check deposit are a plus. ( checks do seem to take a while to clear. )
I’m going to test out the direct deposit. If that goes well I’ll raise my stars.

The this app mobile app is simple to use and so easy to navigate. It has all the features you need plus so much more. Not to mention the branding on this card is so cool. I get people asking me where I got it all the time.

Major ui/ux issues render app unusable

I was hoping to sign up for an account but am unable to advance beyond the password creation page and received multiple error dialogs (“Account does not exist” and “Service unavailable”). The screen was not scaling correctly. There was clearly more text at bottom but was horizontally split from view. Can’t you use that sweet sweet VC dough to make this app accessible to folks with smaller screens? At least say so up front (app claims to be compatible with my phone but isn’t, apparently).

Easy to use

Easy to add money to my account from my other bank accounts. Plenty of ATMs to get cash at. Just tried out the virtual cards. Like that I can use a different card number when shopping online. Will keep using.

My New Bank!

I’ve tried other mobile banks like Chime and Varo but they were a bit gimmicky. this app is something special. It’s got a super sleek interface, a savings account with the highest interest rate I’ve seen, and every time I make a purchase, I know I’m supporting a good cause! Also, through the this app Perks program, I can get cash back at stores I already shop at. Highly recommended!

I didn’t know it was possible to feel so strongly about a banking app. But this app just gets me. It’s not that this app is loaded with features or anything but Porte is just super intuitive and easy to use. The design is also way cooler than a normal bank. I’m a this app customer for life!

Great Product and Easy to Use!

Super easy to set up, and got the card super fast. Also very easy set up direct deposit from my job and to add funds with remote check capture. So far, I love it!

Porte is a really bad mobile banking service. It's really just Ace Cash Express and they're trying to make it look fancy but they're the same company. Like another poster said the routing and account numbers don't seem to always work for bill pay and it can be really frustrating. I don't recommend their app.
