POCKET COMICS: Premium Webtoon Reviews

the comics are actually really good and the art is amazing too! i actually prefer these comics over the comics on webtoon. But POCKETCOMICS itself isn’t all that. u have to wait a whole 24 hours just to watch an ad to read a chapter. which i don’t like. and even then there’s still chapters where u have to pay? like i understand there’s chapters where u can read coins but the least u can do is let us watch as many ads as we want. and i feel like that way i’d feel better about paying for coins. but anyways POCKETCOMICS is pretty complicated and i think a comment section under each chapter would be nice! but overall the concept and comics are good and in the end that’s what matters i just think ur coin or where we actually read the comics system needs some help. but POCKETCOMICS deserves a 3 the comics deserve a 5 so i’ll meet in the middle.

The stories and art on here are amazing and oh so captivating, ive used up all the devices in my house to continue reading my favorites, but it’s very unnecessary to have a such a long wait. We should be able to binge read especially during quarantine where all the stores with manga are closed in some areas. It’s frustrating having to wait just to read, especially since some chapters of some stories are incredibly short. A 1-2 hour wait is fine, but a whole day and night is ridiculous. Also, we should be able to get coins easier, as I’ve had to put in very personal information for things I don’t even want, just to read stories. Binge-readers like me should finally have somewhere we can read amazing stories to our heart’s content without coins or waiting. I’m okay with watching ads for every single chapter of stories, more than 1.but please, don’t make us wait for so long. A lot of times I get hooked into a story but because of the wait, I leave POCKETCOMICS and barely come back. In fact, I just recently remembered I had POCKETCOMICS after weeks of not even checking in. however, if I could read more, I’d be on there all day and all night. Tl; Dr, make me watch a millions ads, fine, but please don’t make us wait, or have only one ticket. Finally, a WEBTOON competitor with even better stories, and yet it falls way behind because of the stupid wait. Please, change this.

The stories are good and will pull you in, but you’ll be disappointed once you realize how expensive it is to read just one. One season of a story could ultimately end up costing you around $40.. I wouldn’t even pay that much for a popular manga let alone these ones. They offer “free” reading opportunities but it’s literally only three opportunities a day which equate to three chapters of one story a day. Regardless the length of the chapter or anything. You get a free reading ticket for logging in, every story will allow you to read one chapter for free if you watch an ad (or sometimes they will offer a free episode for a certain period of time), and then they offer one mission a day where you could earn one reading ticket or sometimes you earn coins. Not a lot though. They offer surveys for coins but I’m not spending 20 minutes on a survey just to read one 2 minute chapter in a story.

It’s basically just a way to take advantage of manga/comic lovers and drain their wallets if they get obsessed. I plan on SLOWLY finishing the stories that I’m reading and once I’m done I will be deleting POCKETCOMICS unless they plan on making it more affordable to their readers instead of just trying to get rich off of them. I will not be reading any new stories or buying anymore coins.

I personally like this more then WEBTOON (no offense) but i have to pay 1$ to read 2 chapters! Like I thought it was fair but now Idk.
I thought it would be more reasonable if you lowered the amount of coins you have to spend. Then you can lower the amount of coins you get. And I have to pay to read certain chapters! I feel like it’s pay to read. Maybe you can add a premium where if you pay 5$, you get for example, 30 coins a month! But you charge 5$ a month. And you could add a premium section! A premium section could be a section where non-premium and premium members could read. Except premium members can read certain comics for free! And maybe, if you have premium you can get 2x the amount of tickets daily! Or maybe an reward system for non-premium members and premium members! Also, can you guys lower the time you have to wait to watch an ad? Another suggestion: You could make an ad-free thing. You could pay 2-3$ for an permanent no ads thing. It’s okay if you don’t do these things but could you at least lower the coins price? Thank you!

I was about to really praise POCKETCOMICS for the 1 free chapter a day approach. It seemed like WEBTOON finally had a rival... but some of the chapters aren’t actually “rentable” with the free with ad option. It’s still better than Tappytoon that makes you watch THIRTY (30) ADS FOR ONE (1) CHAPTER!!! Especially when their ads so often don’t work.

Still, very disappointed it’s not one free chapter a day and it didn’t explain this anywhere until AFTER I spent my $5 in remaining Apple Store credit and unlocked like 20 chapters. I could’ve rented the earlier chapters and used my coins on later ones... but then of course I’d actually have to keep paying every time a new chapter came out or wait like a month to rent it.

So sadly, WEBTOON is still the best in the industry as far as I can tell. With zero rivals. One free chapter per week, no more, no less. And you don’t even have to watch ads for it! But maybe, just maybe, POCKETCOMICS will eventually step up and rival WEBTOON with enough feedback like this. Especially if doing so would bring in more users and thus more money for them!

Okay so first thing I want to mention is this: It IS a great app, and the stories on there are very intriguing, but this really is a terrible app for binge readers or those who have little patients. About five episodes into the story I was reading, I received a pop up saying that I needed to watch an add to proceed onto the next chapter, this is fine, I didn’t really mind it. After that chapter, I moved to the next and it said I needed to “Recharge my limit”. So I checked my limit, and low and behold was a 24 hour time limit. I personally believe this is a bit excessive and would be better to lower it down to about 30-1 hour wait. Or maybe have to watch two adds in order for the next episode. As well as the perks of buying the entire story all together at a (in my opinion) very expensive price. So overall, yes, this is a great app for those who are seeking a good story that you can read, and are very patient or willing to spend money on one story they’d finish in a night or two, but not great for binge readers like myself who have little patients and are bone dry.

POCKETCOMICS is amazing for reading comics, but personally I think the 24 hour wait is extremely unnecessary. It makes it so that you use POCKETCOMICS less and less, instead of getting more “hooked” into it. If we really need a limited wait time, then I’d put it at around 8-12 hours so people don’t forget about POCKETCOMICS . 🤗 I just got it and read through some chapters, but the wait is really killing me. 😅 And I’m a very forgetful person, so I don’t know if I’ll remember to “catch up” with POCKETCOMICS everyday.

Otherwise, everything is actually pretty nice! 👍 Definitely recommend to people who are looking for some interesting digital comics. Just as long as you’re okay with the long wait.

(EDIT) suggestion: if you want to make money off of POCKETCOMICS but still have people hooked into the comics, maybe you have to watch 1-3 ads each episode? I think that’s pretty reasonable. Plus, people won’t get as annoyed when they have to wait.

POCKETCOMICS is the worst. You have to wait a day to read the next chapter of any series. And then you have to watch an ad before you can read any chapter, even when you have a ticket(they let you read more chapters at once). You are only "renting" those chapters so you lose access to them after like a week as well which is ridiculous. There is a bar at the top of each series that tells you when you can read the next chapter. There are some series that, even when the bar is full and says "Read Now", you cant read. 1 series im trying to read has a full bar but I have to wait, at 1st it was 3 days but now its 6, for the next chapter. That's even when I have a ticket which should allow me to read without waiting for the bar to full up again. Ive contacted support about it TWICE but have gotten no response. So there's that. You cant get help with issues you have with POCKETCOMICS . Its super tedious and annoying to not be able to read more than 1 chapter a day without paying and to have to watch an ad to even do that. Avoid the trouble. Dont download POCKETCOMICS.

I gave this a 4 star because one there is some defects and when I mean some one of the defeats would be like it would tell me u read this on another account. It angered me because I have no memory at all of ever signing in an account. Also not only that I was on guest mode since I wanted to try it out it truly angered me that I couldn’t read an episode. Also the 24 wait is a bit unnecessary a 12 hour cool down is much better and the reader will be more excited. That is all that really made me mad or just something u can fix there was some other things but that’s the main reason. The good thing about this is that u can go on guest mode to test it out before u sign in a account and then u can read then u may get an account where u can get coins or what ever etc. Also if u don’t have coins then it gives u like 30sec or lower for me idk about you tho so that’s all please improve on that.

So I recently found out you get daily tickets and I didn’t know this till I started waiting each day I’ve said this before if there was a way to read or get tickets and it was there so now I give my reward which is a 5 star but what you also do to beat Webtoon is allow their to be free reading with ads or at least show which comics are finished like completed and have like comics that are new and popular which I am sure you have but like please show of the comics are either finished or preparing for another season like I am reading a comic that stopped posting episodes at December and I’m not sure if a new season or chapter is coming soon or if it’s finished. I just downloaded POCKETCOMICS after I watched an add about it. Everything was great until I realized that you had to wait 22h just for another comic? The comics are well written and well drawn, but the platform itself isn’t so great. Ngl having people wait 22h so some people will buy some comics from you is kinda greedy. The comics are more well thought out then the ones on WEBTOON, but they don’t have you watch adds and wait almost a day for a short comic ( depends on which one ).. I’d recommend removing the waiting time and just having us watch adds instead. I’m not sure if this is correct, but I believe that adds do bring you in money? WEBTOON is great platform, and they have gotten a bit successful, WITHOUT a waiting time. Also, this “ 7 day “ availability for a comic isn’t really the best either. I doubt someone would take the time to read this but please, be smart and don’t waste your time and money on POCKETCOMICS. Personally, I think reading a comic a day later really ruins the “vibe” and gets confusing.

POCKETCOMICS has a lot of amazing comics but it’s main flaw is the lack of options to read/support the comics without purchasing coins and paying 5 coins per chapter. They give you a singular ticket by logging in daily and allow you to read 2 or 3 chapters every 24 hours with advertisements. There are quite a few amazing comics so you can understand how paying 5 coins per chapter if you’d like to read more than 2 or 3 chapters a day really, really adds up.

Unlike other successful comic apps (WEBTOON for example) in which you can read a handful of chapters of a comic and then offer the option of payment to “catch up” with the latest 5-10 chapters, POCKETCOMICS only lets you read a set amount a day without purchasing more coins.

I’d happily pay a monthly subscription price like I do for Toonmics comics as opposed to paying $20 to catch up on a really good comic that isn’t even complete. Why limit you user activity by only allowing them 2-3 advertised chapters for free when you could easily get a steady amount of income from users by charging a monthly fee.

Millions of people are employed to the pandemic. I don’t see why an app with such phenomenal reads would shoot themselves on the foot by putting such a large financial handicap on its supporters. I don’t mind paying for entertainment but considering $10 only gets about 20 chapters worth of reading is rather disappointing and ultimately very expensive.

POCKETCOMICS has really good content options that are diverse but still eye catching. I like the way POCKETCOMICS is set up and displayed. It’s also super easy to find recommendations based on what I have been reading.

The only downfall is the chapter unlock/rewarding system. You can only read enough chapters to get you hooked and then it’s either buy coins or wait out the reset to earn an extra chapter. I use two other Webnovel/comic book apps and those have really good reward systems that make me want to get on and participate in different app features. I feel like POCKETCOMICS might be easier to forget about because of the long wait in between reward opportunities. If it wasn’t for the specific comic I’m currently reading I probably wouldn’t be too invested in getting on POCKETCOMICS .

It does have super good comics/web novels though but the wait can get a little frustrating.

The stories on POCKETCOMICS are really amazing BUT like everyone on here had already stated, it’s not binge reader friendly. At first I liked the ticket system but it got kind of annoying after I started reading more stories. I could get maybe 2-3 tickets a day. However, once you spend your tickets you have like 8days to read or reread the previous chapter and then it expires and you have to pay it again. This is why I like WEBTOON more. We get free episodes a week and there’s a comment section to interact with other readers. Also a lot of the coin missions are a little sketchy or over priced, therefore getting coins is a little difficult. And the ones you get for free expire in only a couple of days. I had 8 free coins, used 5 and had 3 left with no way to get 2 more, so they expired. I’ll continue to use POCKETCOMICS but I’ll be a little mad about it.

There’s a large selection of webtoons and comics in POCKETCOMICS. POCKETCOMICS is cheaper than Tappytoon, Tapas, and Lezhin since it gives you a free ticket a day. There was a time where I just logged in everyday to get the free ticket and I ended up having around 30 free tickets to just binge whatever comics I wanted to read. They have a coin system too if you wanna read ahead or read a comic that’s not available for the free ticket as well. That’s actually kinda pricey since some chapters require 7 coins and it costs 0.99 USD for 10 coins. Not something kids and college students can really afford. But I wouldn’t compare it to WEBTOON since the comics on WEBTOON app are free on the original Korean platform. The comics on pocket comics, on the other hand, have a paywall on the original platform so I like the free ticket system better than Tappytoon, tapas, and Lezhin.

I really love the stories in POCKETCOMICS but the only thing is are the coins. I really think people would enjoy POCKETCOMICS more if you were to do something about the coins and ads. I’ve seen a lot of ads about Pocket Comics so I’m sure thousands of other people has as well. And I’m sure you would like them to enjoy your app. So I have a few suggestions you might want to keep in mind: don’t make people wait 24 hours to watch an ad for a chapter. It’s hard enough to get coins and tickets because the surveys to get coins don’t work. I would rather watch an ad to get coins rather than do surveys and I think other people would agree as well. And if we were to watch an ad for coins I would say 5 each. POCKETCOMICS has huge potential, but it does need some fixing up.

The stories on POCKETCOMICS are amazing! I love them a lot and it’s a nice way to give some support to the authors. However, I hate the ticket system and the wait system.
If you want to read a story you have two options; spend coins (with real money) or spend a ticket that you get for free once a day. This was great and seemed fair to me. If you wanted to spend money you could but you could also read once a day as well. That’s what I though anyways.
What I’m stuck with now is waiting 5 to 3 days to read one chapter for some of my stories and the others I can’t read any other way but to spend coins. I’m not caught up on any story. I have 10 plus chapters to still read and the system is like this.
I don’t understand why you would give a free ticket to read a chapter every day and then not let the reader use it. I understand wanting to make POCKETCOMICS profitable, but don’t make it seem like you can read for free when you really can’t.
They also had a read a chapter after watching an ad system too, but it hasn’t worked for me for a month.
I want to like POCKETCOMICS. I have spent money to support the authors I like. However, I’m not going to spend $50 a month to read two stories. Either make reading for free a thing you can do reasonably or just be a pay to read app.

Omg I luv this game but after every episode you read can you make it where you get 2 coins if you don’t watch an add, and 4 if u do watch an add and for the timer to get a free episode I don’t get that you have to wait a whole day to get 1 free past can u make the time is maybe 2-6 hours if you can I really love this game but I don’t want to wait all day to get a free past so I can read my favorite story and the task that helps you get more coins can you add a few games we can play to get more coins cuz a lot of those choices is stuff I don’t need. But your game IS AMAZING 😍 it encourages me to read more but it just those tweaks I have a problem with. And I don’t even like to read and I don’t like anime but OMG IF YOU COME ACROSS THIS GAME GET IT CAUSE ITS AMAZING 🤩 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS GAME 🥰

I really enjoy the numerous stories on the site, but I really dislike the 24 hour cool down between ads. The coin currency is acceptable, but I’m not entirely fond of it. The tickets are probably the most ideal thing for simple casual readers, but for binge readers... considering I am one, I find it hard to fully enjoy a story that I can’t just read in a few sittings, I get sucked in just to be pushed back out once I’m out of coins, tickets, or ads. I personally dislike how online purchases are integral to the design of POCKETCOMICS to fully enjoy the stories, yet it’s still fully possible to use despite the purchases. I feel one ticket a day isn’t enough, maybe two or three would be better appreciated. I do enjoy POCKETCOMICS and plan on using it in the future... at least the purchases are fairly cheap.

The layout of POCKETCOMICS is super easy to use and simple to navigate. It’s also easy to track the series you are reading and to scroll through the comics on the reading pane. Also appreciate the recommendations on the home page! Overall, good variety of comics with great interface

I wish I found out about POCKETCOMICS earlier! It’s easy to navigate and there’s a good amount of selections to choose from. I thought the coins were reasonable price too. The only minor issue for me is the short description of each series. Other than that, POCKETCOMICS is already one of my favorite webtoon app.

So many stories to select from and so easy to use. Feels like there is always something new to discover. Big fan!

I tried to find it on my ipad to download because thats how I read all my manga/novels but wasn’t available, and so i tried to search on my itouch and sure enough the download was there... and when I launched it, it’s too small even if I were to put it on my iphone se 2020, it’d be too small. I prefer to read on an ipad size especially if I may have to purchase to unlock future episodes etc...

Tickets don’t work at all on any comics even though it’s advertised that they can unlock chapters of comics.

Please add iPad support.
