e.l.f. US: Cosmetics and Skin Reviews

I downloaded the elf app again after a year, and I can definitely see a difference. Things are running smoother than they used to. It can actually function without closing or glitching out within 5 minutes of use. I will say though, the user interface is still poor. While everything seems to hold together better, there’s some features that’s could be added. For instance: elfUS doesn’t seem to register the fact that I have given it my email about 4 times already. So when I want to be notified about a product being back in stock, I have to constantly put in that email. Most apps will save it to your account and link it some sort of way, so that the user isn’t always putting in the same information over and over.
The reaction times for tapping buttons is slow as well. You can tell it’s rendering it and having a hard time keeping up. I’m not sure what’s up with that, but it is slow and patchy.
To be honest, I’m not even mad about it, because it’s still improvement from where I first saw it. And I’m really proud of how far it’s come, proud of the people putting work into it. I notice and appreciate that.

I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue. But I only had elfUS installed for 3 days before uninstalling. Every I added more than 5 items to the cart, elfUS would delete them. It’s one thing if items are out of stock. But it deleted everything. Every brush. Every cleanser. Every eyeliner that I added was deleted. Repeatedly and almost immediately. I’d leave the cart with 9 items to shop in another section. I looked down at the little shopping bag icon and the number changed from 9 to 6 to 5. I couldn’t remember everything that I had chosen.

I tried again the next day. Same thing happened with completely different items this time. Again, I couldn’t remember the exact items I needed because most of them were new items I’d never purchased before. So I filled the cart. Clicked on the cart and only had 2 items in there instead of 11.

The website was doing weird stuff too. On the 3rd day, I uninstalled and went to Ulta instead. And you lost business, Elf. Because some of the items I was trying to purchase from you are not sold at Ulta. So I chose other brands.

I ordered something from their website a few days ago, so I figured I would get elfUS to look at more items and possibly track my order. There are so many problems with elfUS. It’s so glitchy. My biggest problem is every 5-30 seconds it goes out of elfUS and switches to Pinterest for some reason and signs me out of my account every time I go back into elfUS . I can hardly operate elfUS enough to sign in because I keep being directed to Pinterest and half of the time it doesn’t even register that you’re pressing the buttons?! Also, my order didn’t switch over to my account- it says I have no order history when I’d just ordered from them the previous night. If it’s the same account shouldn’t it have the same data?? I’ve deleted it and am starting to regret creating an account or ordering from them at all. Because of their unreliable and barely-functioning website I’m wondering if their delivery is unreliable too. This is doing terrible things for your business Elf.

I love elfUS, it’s so much cheaper then target because they give you free gifts and free shipping! Also it’s their full vegan inventory as opposed to whatever target happens to have in stock. I just placed my second order with them. The first order was so much fun to receive it came in a cute box that looked and felt like a present. I know nothing about makeup but I that ELF has tutorials that I desperately need to watch. I’m also excited that they finally started making vegan nail polish! I also really want to get the surprise box. Oh so many fun things that elf offers. Great company. I worked with a make artist years ago and she is used to using super high end Sophora make up and she said that elf make up is really great!

First off, I love elf and thought it’s such nice idea to have its own app, I downloaded it and placed an order, which was a pain to go through, I used Apple Pay and elfUS kept rejecting the transaction saying the billing address was invalid, I ended up deleting elfUS and downloading it again, this time elfUS didn’t reject the purchase, what I changed? -nothing. Later I wanted to check another product, elfUS kept loading the initial screen never moved forward, solution delete/re-download app, today is asking me to update elfUS , but I’m already up to date, I definitely look forward to elfUS working properly, meantime I’ll just pass :/

I’m a recent convert to ELF.

When the putty primer was introduced, the reviews introduced me to this high-quality, reasonably-priced brand and I downloaded elfUS straight away.

elfUS is quite user friendly, keeps tally of points that are easily converted to discounts or products.

Using points and free gifts-with-purchase enables users to try full-sized product at little-to-no cost.

I’ve discovered some wonderful products, that I now regularly use, by trying for free.

Since quarantine, I’ve worn makeup just a handful of times since Mar 2020.

I tossed many of my beloved ELF favourites, because makeup doesn’t stay fresh forever.

I was able to replace all my favourite products for less-than $100. total, and earned points toward next purchase, too.

The site is super easy to navigate and opens with new products, best sellers, and award winners.

I appreciate the price of ELF products, but I’d still buy them if the were similar price to the “luxury” brands, because I LOVE ELF!

Do not miss the facial oils! Vegan friendly, inexpensive, luxurious, and wonderfully effective.

I had higher expectations of elfUS and of E.l.f cosmetics, to put it simply my very first issue was that elfUS is constantly signing me out even though I checked the “remember me” box and I find nowhere in the settings to keep me signed in, I also had an issue with checkout because nowhere at the checkout does it say you can ONLY use an E.l.f gift card, I thought I could use a visa gift card but apparently not and lastly I had a very disappointing customer service experience, I contacted customer service about my gift card situation because I was unsure why my gift card wasn’t working and I received a very blunt response and when I sent another response back it was completely ignored, definitely not gonna order from E.l.f anytime soon after this experience.

I really liked elfUS . It has a friendly interface, easy to understand navigation, even if you are using elfUS for the first time. I really liked the Virtual try-on function, it is especially valuable in the current conditions of the pandemic, because I no longer have the opportunity to test cosmetics in the store, and I have to make purchases online. Make-up looks authentic, it's nice that you can not just look at the shades on models with similar appearance, but apply them to yourself, look from different angles, take a photo. I definitely recommend elfUS !

Talk about SLOOOOOWWW. Remember dial-up internet? That was faster than elfUS. I’m sure it’s something that can be corrected eventually, but in the meantime I absolutely cannot use elfUS. Pages take an eternity to load, you tap on something and the lag is incredibly annoying. I absolutely love the layout of elfUS, and once it’s working properly I’ll change my review.

Sept 1st updated review:
After an update in August.... I see no changes. In fact, I think it might be worse. I haven’t opened elfUS since I left my review, but saw there was an update so I got my hopes up. I can’t even log in. It just totally freezes up. Sorry ELF, I don’t have 5 hours to spend logging into your app. I love your products and I’d buy a lot more if your app actually worked. This is just pathetic.

This brand is my absolute favorite makeup brand. It’s literally a one stop shop for all of your makeup and skin care needs. On top of that, it’s incredibly affordable! Their app is super easy to use. I love the customer loyalty program e.l.f. offers through their website/app- you can easily rack up enough points to get full sized products for free. Did I mention shipping is free? E.l.f. even sent me free products a couple of months ago through their app “just because”. This company makes you feel important, and not just another number when you use their products!

I guess some people said that their app was freezing on them? But that didn’t happen to me! It worked flawlessly and the format was the exact same as the website which I appreciate. It’s super user friendly and The best part has to be that for most products, you can pick a model with your skin tone to show you what the products will looks like. You can also use a picture of yourself, just be careful that you’re in natural light, otherwise it will throw off the tones. But overall, amazing!

I love how easy elfUS is to use. I love that you can scan store receipts for e.l.f. Products to be included on your reward points. I love that you can try the product on you by using your camera. I love that it gives you recommendations. I love the Rewards program. Last but not least, I absolutely love that all these products are Vegan & can all be used on your Eyes, Lips & Face, hence company brand name e.l.f. I’ve been using these products for years (Approx 6+ years), since I first spotted them at Retail stores. I love the price control too.

I love the idea of having an app to use if you don’t feel like opening a browser to go to the website but elfUS is almost unusable me for me. I log in and the screen freezes, when it finally unfreezes a free me force closing it and logging back in and I’m browsing through categories it will freeze again and then close so I have to log in again. If I try to check on an order or my beauty points it freezes up and sometimes closes completely. By this point I give up and just open a browser and have no problems at all. I’ll be uninstalling elfUS until the issues are cleared up and then I’ll give it another try.

elfUS used to be great and I’d order all the time but recently I can’t even place an order. The “secure checkout” button is gray and it won’t let me check out. I’ve removed items and added them back. I’ve deleted elfUS and downloaded it again. I even changed my password and tried logging in on different browsers but no luck! All I wanted to do was place an order for my products. And when I logged back in there were other products in my cart that I hadn’t places in there. I had removed everything (which is why I changed my password). I had to place my order through Ulta. Please fix the issue!

I love that I can order all the elf products now and I plan to use it a lot BUT I can’t login because every time I try to submit it it kicks me off the login screen and takes me to the home page, and when I try to search for something it does this also. I think there’s a couple bugs that need to be fixed; overall I enjoy elfUS though

As a makeup/face product connoisseur, I’ve tried every major brand ranging from very expensive to very cheap. e.l.f. is up there with my high end products and take the cake in terms of affordability. elfUS is intuitive and customized ; every time I go to buy something, it remembers my personalized skin tone and preferences and suggests products accordingly. I find this stuff to be the best bang for your buck out of any brand I’ve found yet. Highly recommend!

I love ELF makeup and recently decided to purchase. Unfortunately, I can’t. I spent an hour trying to get the website to work. When that didn’t, I installed elfUS. I spent the next two hours fooling with this thing and I can’t even get passed the home screen to see anything because it’s perpetually frozen! You know what isn’t frozen? The 800 notifications that I immediately began receiving before I could even open elfUS . No brand of cosmetics is worth this headache. I’ll take my business elsewhere. It’s pretty sad that the company doesn’t seem to care or correct this issue. Just about every bad review I read has nothing to do with ELF but with poor tech support.

I love Elf Cosmetics. They’re affordable and their products are decent quality. For being a drugstore brand, their products are absolutely phenomenal.
Although for being such a great company I believe they may not have the best app developers. My phone is brand new and I have had elfUS freeze up my whole phone and I had to forcibly shut it down. After doing that I returned to elfUS , making sure I hadn’t had any other applications running. elfUS is laggy and continues to completely clear my shopping bag. I will continue to use the website, elfUS is not worth my time and effort.

elfUS is noticeably slower since the last update. It keeps asking me to sign in even though I am already signed in. It randomly jumps back to the logo loading screen and then the front page while I’m trying to look at a product. Clicking the button to track my order does absolutely nothing. These things make elfUS very frustrating to use and it’s much faster and easier to just use the website instead. I’ve been happy with the E.L.F. products I’ve tried and haven’t had any issues with the website but elfUS needs serious help.

The functions so poorly. 99% of the reason I never order their products online is because I dread dealing with their website. So I decided to try elfUS and it’s WORSE. The website will lag so badly and it takes 3-5 minutes of lag time between one scroll. elfUS just literally doesn’t respond. It took me 10 minutes to sign in and I can’t scroll at all through the product pages. All of their responses here, and even in recent reviews, say there are updates coming but I do not feel how any of that is truthful. It’s bad folks. Even my small town’s utilities bill pay app is more advanced than this.

I downloaded elfUS to purchase the Poreless Putty Primer, and kept getting interrupted with a video trying to play that was actually a slide show. I reached out to customer service and not only were they kind, they responded promptly and were super helpful. Because of their customer service, I ended up buying more than just the primer.

Not sure why elfUS has 4 stars when literally everyone is complaining about elfUS ’s system. It’s slow, freezes, & it takes forever to choose an option or go to a different page. The touch feedback is late. & good luck trying to order something! It’s frustrating because I love ELF & I’m trying to buy products that are only available online because they sold out in stores. elfUS & site aren’t even worth using.

Fix your programming and maybe you would have a bigger clientele.

elfUS works great for me and I love trying on the shades before buying them! I also uploaded a receipt of elf products I got at target and I got points for it:)

This is a useful app I can find products faster but some products are not on there like they should. In the store you might see products that are not on the wedsite. And also you can make a list of which ones you favor which I like.

I am a daily user and devoted fan of my e.l.f. Cosmetics but I just downloaded elfUS because the web page on my iPhone keeps buffering. Now elfUS keeps buffering and when I do get to a page it freezes up. I can't even go to my cart to check out the one product I was able to add to it. What's up guys? 🧐

Although i enjoy products as they are great quality and for low prices generally. I am bery unhappy with elfUS which freezes continually and will not process orders as well as kicks me off my profile every time i click a new page its very frustrating

I got 2 free gifts with my purchase so that made me so excited plus i got the poreless putty primer which Jeffree starr recomended plus the mink lashes and foundation! I dont ever wear makeup just trying to become a beauty guru lol

elfUS is continually freezing; not permitting me to sign up and not even loading product lists for me to view even while on WiFi. I’ve also tried my mobile data, uninstalling elfUS and reinstalling it, as well as completely restarting my device with still no success in elfUS loading properly.

I was hoping elfUS would be better. Big NO. However I attempt to go to Elf, screen is so slow to load, like dial up back in the 90s slow. Ugh! Dedicated customer...it took me 2 or more hours to place an order thru Instagram link. Also when I log on directly thru internet. Elf products are pretty awesome. Web page...not so much. 😤

worth downloading it’s really good app they help u out for on the go ways and u receive points that turns into free items

elfUS takes a long time to load anything and doesn’t respond to touch pretty much all the time. Besides these major issues elfUS is good though. The loading time and touch responsiveness NEEDS fixing.

I just got elfUS and it’s impossible to use. It’s either always frozen, or just sits there and doesn’t register what you click on. If it register it takes a long time to load. I really hoped to use elfUS but I’m giving up and deleting it.

I am so happy much u made an app. Now its much easier to browse.

It’s a good app but whenever I try to add more than 3+ items to my cart, it automatically deletes the ones I just saved. Good products though!

Loved the experience!!! App worked beautifully for me. I love e.l.f., can’t wait for my package to arrive.
