Blapp - Black-owned businesses Reviews

I can’t trust Blapp as I see far too many businesses listed that are not black owned. I suggest researching these businesses before you allow them to join the BLAAP Directory. Perhaps a BLAAP data manger for each region of the country. I understand that requires a budget. A free route would be a google form link so app users can report on BOB they would like researched and removed. ONCE THIS IS UP AND RUNNIG, we can do GREAT things and shift our dollars. Don’t give up.

I travel a lot for work. It’s hard to choose restaurants and bars that share my values while on the road. Blapp is a great way to help make decisions about where to eat and drink. Learned about it on the Working It Out podcast.

I love the interface; it’s user-friendly and nicely designed. It helped me realize there are many Black-owned businesses near me that I wasn’t aware of, and that I will make an effort to buy from more often! Great app that fills an important gap.

Finally an App where we can support each other!! Right at our finger tips!! I love it and I will most definitely share to other business’s as well 😘

I was so excited to see Blapp and still am. I wish there was a way to report inadequacies and a way to
collaborate. In our area, we have an app being developed. Would be cool if these could go/from it link. When I opened Blapp and searched near me many non BOBs populated. There is no way to report it and they should be removed.

Just downloaded, immediately found my black own real estate business with pics, website and contact info!

The only reason that I didn’t give four stars is that one of my favorites didn’t come up when I looked for restaurants in my area unless I specifically looked for it by name.

I LOVE the concept for Blapp and am hopeful that once they work out the kinks it will be great. I’m concerned about using Blapp in its current state because some businesses I’ve seen on there are NOT black-owned. For example, Rolling Greens, a florist spot in LA. It is co-owned by Laurie Resnick and Greg Salmeri. Major work is needed for their QC process for businesses that make it in Blapp .

So grateful for this app! It’s a great way to help support Black-owned businesses, and also got me out of my rut of going to the same five places over and over again! Love this app! Download now!

A superb solution for the need of the hour! Can’t recommend Blapp highly enough.

Not only is the design sleek and easy to use. It shows me businesses that I didn’t even know are black owned. Absolutely love it!

Love the idea, but cannot navigate Blapp . I use large type font for accessibility. App will not scale so I cannot see any of the options or navigate. Hope there will be a patch release soon as I really like this idea.

It took less than 1 minute to find out that it is not showing businesses that are actually black owned. One of the first ones I looked up that is near me, is definitely owned by a white guy. Blapp needs to focus on actually verifying what is listed.

This really helps me (and apparently many others) ID black businesses to avoid. The concept of Blapp is really racist. I’m not sure it helps as intended.

This is phenomenal and will only get better as it expands into more markets. Please spread the word.

This is a beautifully designed, vibrant app! It’s also a NECESSITY for supporting local black owned businesses! I love it.

I was scrolling through my area and found a ton of business that do not have black owners. Blapp works great but it defeats the purpose. I want to go to a black owned garden store. Not a garden store owned by lame old white people.
