Rainbow - Ethereum Wallet Reviews

I did one swap and was charged a $446 dollar fee! The transaction didn’t show me the charge of $446 before the swap, only the gas fee. IF YOU SWAP THE 20% PREMIUM FEE IS ON YOUR ENTIRE STACK OF CRYPTO YOU’RE SWAPPING NOT ON THE GAS FEE. It is not clear that the premium fee is not on the eth gas fee and looks intentionally deceiving probably on purpose to trick people into doing a premium swap. I left a Twitter comment with photo proof yesterday and they haven’t responded yet. If I get the charge back or any of my $446 Back that would be amazing. This is literally the only fault of Rainbow that they don’t make it clear they’re taking 20% of your stack. Also it’s predatory that they’d even do such a 20% charge because like me I was in the middle of something and wanted to swap quickly I never would have imagined they’d have such a charge, I thought Rainbow was safe. Kyber network and uniswap would never take 20% of your stack. this app please make this right.

So I use this with Rarible and so far both Rainbow and raribke have many problems when working with eachother. For example communication between the two apps is very poor. Rarible requires me to sign a message through this app wallet and sometimes the message doesn’t connect to this app wallet. Other times I recieve the sign message request but Rarible doesn’t receive it leaving a spinning loading wheel which causes the page to never load. I cannot even update my settings in Rarible since the communication between this app wallet and Rarible is so ineffective. I am beyond frustrated with the two services because I have invested a lot of time and money into this. Please fix issues with Rarible, and have better cross platform communication built into future updates.

For the amount of time the team spends tweeting nonsense they could spend it cornering their market and realizing not only do they have the best ETH WALLET they could have the most customer friendly and supported wallet. Granted it’s not cheap to do so but neither are the fees to use the key features. Introduce real customer service and documentation about why this app is better specifically in security and people will say “meta who?” Keep up the good work but keep your users informed if you want to keep growing!

I transferred a bit to try it which cost a ton, then I now can’t get it out because those fees are so high. Eth has gone up in value , but it won’t let me use my eth balance so I’d have to put more money in to move my eth to cover the fee. I understand there is a fee to use the chain in general, but it’s the selling and moving cash to my bank account I’m talking about that’s high. If I transfer to my Gemini wallet it’s about 19 dollars which I could deal with in the event, I could easily transfer it using my current eth balance for the fee -but I as I understand it I need to transfer more dollar in which has another fee to do to pay the 18? Maybe it’s just me but Beware it’s not as easy as using some other platforms.

Might be the best wallet app of all the Ethereum wallet apps I have used. So many Ethereum wallets make UI so complicated. this app is the complete opposite. Super easy setup and beautiful clean interface. Very sticky interface! Trust me I have searched around and only 1 or 2 come close to where this app app is. I am looking forward to seeing them add a web3 browser and more tokens to swap. Also would be cool to get a this app debit card one day. Sky’s the limit for Rainbow, they are already doing so many things right.

It looks great, and it’s very user friendly. The deposit money for banking is the only troublesome aspect, if I hit the *max* option supplied for me I can deposit it fine, but if I type that number in myself it’s insufficient liquidity. And either way when you back out of banking, the buttons kind of stop working. But those are just notes for the future, I really like the direction it’s heading in!!

Had a what appeared to be a simple request upon the initial deposit being declined. I received a very vague response as it could be a number reasons. Okay I guess I can somewhat accept that. So I moved a small $$ of ETH instead of cash….everything worked fine. Received an email today asking if I used a discover card , as that could be why. What?!! Look up the transaction instead of guess, review the log and tell me it was because of X, Y, or Z. To ask me as the customer what card I used….told me everything I needed to know. Pulled the little amount I put in the wallet.

I bought ethereum on Rainbow and a significant chunk disappeared instantly. Maybe this was a transaction fee but there was no clarity as to that on Rainbow - there was just a magical difference between what I paid and what I received (almost 20%).

When trying to send crypto via QR the wallet kept glitching.

Very frustrating. Switching to MetaMask.

I feel like every time I open my this app I’m actually stepping into an infinite portal of color and happiness that’ll take me to dimensions we haven’t even heard off yet, where all beings exist in absolute joy and use their creative powers for the good of all universes.

Not only that, but it is awesomely integrated with L2s, Uniswap, Polygon and who knows what else, and it is made of love.

The UI/UX is very pretty but there have been times when trying to use Uniswap where Rainbow underestimates the gwei price, leaving the transaction in limbo for a while. I even tried to put a custom gwei price but the transaction still attempted with less gwei and didn’t even check if I had enough ETH to fully fund the transaction. Lost about $200 due to this. Use Rainbow to see a big picture overview of your coins, but use another wallet for more complicated transactions.

I have explored hundreds of wallets, literally, not figuratively, and there is not one that Compares to this app 🌈 🖤 ☠️
Fiat on ramp, every-single token that’s listed on etherscan, accompanied by the quickest and most accurate corresponding price feed, and... each token or coin’s symbol in full-color.
this app is user friendly from beginner to expert, I guarantee you it will not dis-appoint, rather, exceed your expectations.

this app is a great way to start in crypto. You can buy right from the wallet using apple pay. In addition to basic trading, you also have access to farms and other more advanced features right from the home page. 7/5 would recommend again for my $DPI and $Index buys :)

Genius app! Importing wallets seeds is fast; all past transactions appear. Just ‘wow’: the quality of mobile wallets over the last year has been incredible! Within the first five minutes, I’ve made the decision that this app is now my prime mobile wallet (especially now that WalletConnect can be used without a second device).

I’ve been in crypto for a couple of years now and I’ve found this app wallet to be one of the better wallets out there. Easy to use UI, great for swapping ETH (or others) for alt coins that have limited availability on wider exchanges. Love the ability to create more wallet addresses within the same account, too. Happy customer!

I’m really grateful that Rainbow crashes every time I try to add money. That keeps me from giving them any more of my money. This is possibly the worst app I’ve ever downloaded. The exorbitant swap fees are completely ridiculous. Rainbow is not user-friendly and doesn’t really do much except take your money. I also suspect that they sell sold my phone number to mailing lists because now I’m getting all kinds of scammy text messages and they know my legal name, which I don’t even use except for financial transactions.

Half of these <5 star reviews are old and the features they requested have already been implemented. Rainbow will literally save you money if you use it over MetaMask, which is getting worse and worse.

Love that you can deposit funds with Apple Pay. Makes it very simple.

I feel extremely safe with my money in Rainbow, security and privacy wise.

Would highly recommend to anyone no matter what level of experience you have in crypto.

Before this app, I wasn’t able to show my wife the NFT art I’ve been spending our savings on that will create generational wealth for our kids and grandkids. I know she will let me sleep in our bed (not on the couch) again soon. Thanks, this app!

I am relieved! I finally have a way of controlling my browser based wallets on my mobile device. It’s a simple functional design. All that’s missing is password protection to access the wallet.

This is probably my favorite wallet app on Rainbow Store. Clean UI and very simple to use. Continue the great work! Excited to see what comes next.

As a feature request: could you add floor price analysis on wallet. NFT are already first-class citizens on Rainbow , so would be great to see more around this
