Connect care needs refining

IntermountainHealthUTID has been good for accessing health records, but scheduling appointments is clunky and I usually end up calling the office to schedule. The connect care timed out of IntermountainHealthUTID while I was in the “waiting room” and I couldn’t get back to my visit. When I signed up for a new appointment, you can elect to have a text when your provider is ready, but when you leave IntermountainHealthUTID there doesn’t appear to be a way to get back to your appointment and the text doesn’t have a link.

What a waste. By SDC

As I drove up, there was very poor organization and very poor directions on where to go first. There were signs everywhere saying COVID-19 testing , So you go to one area and wait for 20 minutes or longer, as somebody helped you they redirect you to the back of the hospital, so after following poorly marked directions, You arrive where other AC employees are supposed to guide and direct but it seemed like they wanted to avoid eye contact and avoid anybody coming into get tested. Nothing was clearly marked, and employees would be chatting for several minutes rather than addressing vehicles, giving or taking tests. I was so unimpressed considering the billions of federal dollars put into making the system efficient. also the online portal is not very efficient either. The whole process of going through everything that is required from your Primary care, to testing, to getting results is duplicating many processes. The whole process is so inefficient, that I see many people not wanting to even get tested, which defeats the reason for testing in the first place. Patients are most contagious during the 4 days that process takes, infecting others. By the time results are gotten most people are out of the contagious stage. What a complete waste of time and effectiveness! Very unimpressed with IHC , top to bottom

Not as user friendly as I would like

Though the interface is nice, there is a serious lack of information on IntermountainHealthUTID as to how to add family members to your account so you can view them all easily. I had to comb through IntermountainHealthUTID to find a number to call for any questions, and then I was given vague directions on how to request access to my child’s medical records, and then it took me another few phone calls to finally get the right sort of facility to send me an email to THEN set up and login all over again to be able to access my child’s information. I feel like all that work could have been avoided or done a lot quicker if there was more helpful information about family members records and how to add them directly on IntermountainHealthUTID instead of jumping through many hoops like I had to. I’m a pretty tech savvy person and I have a background working with medical records so I didn’t give up easily, but I’m sure if I didn’t have that sort of experience under my belt, I would have stopped trying.

Charged $60 for an appointment that never happened

IntermountainHealthUTID eventually refunded us, but beware that IntermountainHealthUTID is super unreliable. We tried to do a remote video appointment and they all cost $60, but while we were waiting to be seen, IntermountainHealthUTID closed, and this happened twice (mind you it also takes a while to go back in and set everything back up to do a different video chat), and they charged us money before we even saw the doctor.

They really need to wait to charge people till the doctor sees them. It’s messed up that they do it before hand, because obviously if they did it after the fact, we never would have been charged. I’m sure there were people who didn’t know how to contest the charge and were ripped off $60 for no reason.

I have IntermountainHealthUTID two stars even though it probably deserves one, only because they refunded us. To me that doesn’t make up for IntermountainHealthUTID being unreliable in the first place.

My experience.

I went to the hospitals InstaCare because I was concerned I had pneumonia on top of my COVID-19. Everyone at the InstaCare was great they took my pulse ox and I had it reading of 84 the doctor then sent me to the ER where they proceeded to treat me like an idiot.
Again I didn’t go to the ER I was sent there, and all these doctors at the ER could care about was that my pulse ox reading had gone up and I had I’ve been vaccinated. No one told me anything about my chest x-ray or is it if I had pneumonia or I should be concerned about pneumonia or how to help my breathing. I’ve now been home for a day in my lungs sound worse and I still can’t braids like normal. They gave me oxygen and sent me on my way. Again I still don’t know if I have pneumonia or anything wrong with my lungs if things aren’t better within the next couple days my wife and I will be going to another hospital and hopefully they will have better customer care and actually answer my questions and not treat me like an idiot.

Excellent

I am grateful for Dr Beckstead’s expertise & professionalism. He listens, he is thoughtful, he is very knowledgeable, he is thorough, he is attentive. He educates himself & is open to new understand & research, he is very familiar with others expertise in the medical community. He is honest & he does what he says he will do. On top of all that, he helped save my life by acting timely and effectively. The others on his team are also amazing. I went in, he recommended an x-ray. It was late in the day, but the x-ray was taken within 15 minutes, read by the radiologist, posted to my MyHealth medical record, and Dr. Beckstead sent me an email - all within about 1 1/2 hours of the time the doc recommended the image! Truly Amazing! Thank-you Dr. Beckstead & your Intermountian team!!

Notification nightmare, but also a wonderful app!

Simply put, IntermountainHealthUTID is a Godsend. I love how I get everything relating to my healthcare here, including test results, vaccinations (it let me know when I got my Covid vaccine!), procedures, doctors’ visits, etc. It’s wonderful.

This said, the notifications section is off base and horrendous. I only get push and email notifications and don’t have a way to separate them out. So during an ED visit for a bowel obstruction and high pain, I got 40+ emails and app notifications for medications I don’t normally get as part of my care. These were irrelevant, and it caused me problems in having to delete these from my email. I’ve sent an email to technical support to allow us the ability to remove these types.

Other than that, I highly recommend IntermountainHealthUTID.

Self serving

I have to say I’m impressed with how easy it was to get myself tested by using this “self serve” method. Everything from the step by step instructions to the final submission went very smoothly and seemed to have the patient’s convenience in mind.
The only negative feedback I have is that this may prove to be a little difficult or possibly even impossible to do for an elderly person who can’t navigate a computer very well. I did have to go to IntermountainHealthUTID Store and install a QR scanner as manually entering the website address sent me to a dead end page. Other than that, it was an easy, convenient and fast way to get results.

Such a great way to possibly save a trip

I have a Halloween-worthy bruise on my arm and I was wondering if I might need someone to look at it in person. I mean, we’ve all read a bit too much on the interwebs and I was all thinking “blood clot!” Lol
The nurse practitioner was thorough (asking to see it from the side as well as head on; was it swollen; are any areas below it numb, tingling, or swollen?). She even had me measure the size so she could make a note of it in my health record.
Then she finished up with with telling what to look for, and how to relieve any discomfort it might be causing.
She was calm and friendly. The background she chose was peaceful and cheery, so it did not add to any fear.

No help at all

I have been tested for covid twice this year and I never could get my results to pull up on IntermountainHealthUTID. Earlier this year, i ended up calling for my results. This time I read someone's comment that they logged in online and so I tried that and all my medical stuff was there online, including my visit earlier this year for kidney stones along with both testing for covid. but there is absolutely no results showing in IntermountainHealthUTID . IntermountainHealthUTID is incredibly frustrating. It did say my results were in but no matter what I tried, every time I went to results it would say "no records at this time" or something. So if you're having problems getting any info on IntermountainHealthUTID, just log in online. IntermountainHealthUTID needs major work. Those results are needed by many people to know if it's okay to return to work and such.

Intermountain is behaving unethically

I wanted to be tested for RSV and influenza. They told me that they do not have testing for only RSV and influenza rather it also included Covid testing in the same test. I told them I do not consent to be tested for Covid. Their response was well you can take the test or you can leave. I feel that Intermountain is behaving unethically because they force you into a corner to consent to a quad test. Otherwise I leave and drive somewhere else with gas prices doubling in the last few weeks and then pay another co-pay somewhere else. This is unethical behavior forcing somebody to consent to one test that covers all or leave and pay more money to the healthcare system. Intermountain is a tax exempt entity and they are pickpocketing people by forcing them into a corner to make a decision to buy more gas and pay another co-pay to another organization just for one test.

Someday, maybe it will load

It is really nice to have all of my test/ lab results within a da, instead of waiting for the doctors to get a chance to look them over, and then wait for a phone call or have to make an appointment just to get the results.
There are only two things that could do a bit better.
1. The loading times could be a smidgen faster. I don’t know what network IntermountainHealthUTID is connecting to, to receive all the information, but if it could be sped up, that would be great.
2. If the appointments could show the times along with the provider and date, that would be awesome!
Other than that, I’m very grateful to IHC for putting IntermountainHealthUTID together, because it has been nice being able to get results faster. Thanks to all who were in the creative process!

absurd process to get results

Any call attempt has long winded useless redundant information to wait thru before attempting to get thru long winded descriptions of each option. Then the system ends the call without trying to contact any real person.
Online, after having to avoid automatically being directed to Nevada, one must “register”. But instead of being able to simply setup an account, one must have an ID generated by you making that option impossible.
Finally downloading IntermountainHealthUTID did have the option to register without one of your IDs. Tho still tedious to complete, especially the ridiculous limited special character password stipulation, I, after an hour, was finally able to see my results.
Absurd! Consider actually trying to navigate your own systems yourself before implementing them.

Why can’t you make it easier to add kids!

Can I tell you how EXTREMELY annoying IntermountainHealthUTID process is for kids! I’m registered as the guardian and caregiver for my kids on all of Intermountain systems. Yet, my kids can’t be added to IntermountainHealthUTID nor can I create a login for them. The only way to add dependents is by waiting on the phone for 2 hours, then be told there is a backlog and that someone will call me back shortly. No call back ever happens. You call again the next day for another 2 hour hold, told I would be called back again. We are on day 3 of waiting for a call back, and meanwhile trying to figure out if test results are negative or positive. GAH!

Oh and I asked if I can add all my kids at once so I wouldn’t have to go through this process each time. Guess you can ONLY add one child waiting for test results EACH TIME. Such a joke!!

Love having this access

I see a physician in another medical group and their online portal is so minimal compared to MyHealth+. I love how quickly and easily I can get lab work data (I get draws every 3-4 months for Chronic Kidney Disease) and how I can view trend data. I also appreciate being able to message doctors for myself or my children. Having visit summaries available digitally has also been helpful and removed the filing burden of printed papers. I use MyHealth multiple times per month and it positively impacts my ability to be informed and intentionally in how I care for my health and my children’s health.

Disconnect between notification and actual update

This is regarding covid test results as that’s the only thing I’ve used for so far. I got the test listed but no result. hours later I received a notice that I had important updates. when I looked there was nothing new on it until a couple hours later when the test result actually showed up. That was for my first child. With my second the test has been listed for 2 days with no result OR TEXT OF UPDATE. Now I’ve gotten the text that there was an update and still no actual update within my account via IntermountainHealthUTID or online. Idk but it’s a bit annoying to get notices when there’s nothing online yet from my view.

Trying to create a my health app profile/account

I have been trying for a week to create an account and set up a profile and passwords. It kept telling me to call the troubleshooter line. So I did, and the lady I talk to was wonderful! I was on hold for about 45 minutes, which is crazy! You should really get some better music well you’re on hold, because it’s has so much static, and repetitious...it could make you go nuts by the time the operator answers you! Anyways, the lady was awesome & so helpful! She helped me do all the things I needed to do to get my account on online set up!

Bug in new update!

When I try to view my appointments that have been scheduled for weeks/months, it redirects me to a different page to schedule a new appointment with all the providers I have seen. All I can view is the time the appointment is at from the screen at top. I have no information on what provider or department my appointment it is scheduled with right now. Right now I’m relying on reminder calls or calling offices myself hoping I call the right one the first time. Honestly this is one of the worst bugs to have in an app people rely on a lot like healthcare during a pandemic. It seems like the ultimate disaster for healthcare especially if I end up holding up phone lines trying to get the correct information every time I have an appointment which is weekly right now.

SelectHealth Members Only??

Attempted to use IntermountainHealthUTID to check COVID results as instructed. App requires account setup. Went through the entire setup process, provided all of my personal info and verified my mobile phone # and email addresses only to receive a generic error at the very last screen saying unable to validate information, call for assistance. Called and the prerecorded msg said to expect a 1-2hr wait. wow.
Judging from the reviews IntermountainHealthUTID does work for some, maybe since I don’t have a SelectHealth account it doesn’t work for me? Or maybe it’s just easy way for IHC to collect personal user data?
Disappointing, and very frustrating when many things hinge on knowing the results of a COVID test.
App is unusable for me, and the phone option with a 1-2hr wait is a very poor alternative.

IHC MyHealth

IntermountainHealthUTID is amazing. It gives me online access to all of my medical information including office visits, medical history and prescriptions. It also gives access to many other resources including scheduling appointments and following up with my primary care physician.

I was an early subscriber to IntermountainHealthUTID and it’s incredible to see the continual improvements that have been made. I am thrilled to have all of this information accessible and well organized in one easy to use application. Thanks IHC For this great resource!

I’ve been trying to view my messages on IntermountainHealthUTID for 3 days now, and I keep getting a message saying there’s a problem fetching my messages. Please fix this!

Constantly crashing

IntermountainHealthUTID is constantly crashing. I am unable to view or do anything. Very frustrating! Myhealth is working fine so not sure what is going on. I received an email to participate in a “pilot experience”. It tells me it is unable to load. This is both connected to WiFi or using data.

Such a good start, keep going!

Being a Utahn, and a current iOS native app developer for a slopes startup who's spent waaay too much time at a corporate back end systems job, its really cool to see IHC take on a project like this. I cant imagine how complex these features are. I'd definitely take this over the current... oh wait U of U and Mountain Star don't have one. Cool beans. That being said, there are pro's and con's.

Overall Score 2/5: Please keep building this thing. Be the Facebook, not the MySpace. IntermountainHealthUTID needs to exist because American healthcare needs innovative tools like this to stir change and thought provoking ways to look at care. I shared IntermountainHealthUTID with a friend, all short-comings aknowledged and she found value. She was a new mother with a newborn with what she thought was a severe fever. She was conflicted if she should run to the ER. I told her to download IntermountainHealthUTID , and get a doctor on a video conference. The doc walked her through a temperature reading, and talked her through what was a bad reading and a good reading, and consequently traded a $$$ bill into just $30 or so. Plus, kept an ER doc busy with a patient that probably needed the care.

Sweet Pro's:

Nice UI, mostly: This looks like a react app, and feels like one too. It's a nice setup. The artwork is on point, really good color themes. Didn't skip out on animations or filler art. And it actually has a design language, dang, MyFitnessPal can't even get that right.

4/5 stars

Speed and Snappyness: Overall things load pretty quick. It's always hard to know whats going on in the back end. And health care is notorious for... not being snappy. This isn't Netflix or Amazon Prime, but it definitely isn't the KSL classifieds timing out as I day dream about cars.

4/5 stars

Not so Pro's / Critique Input:

So, where exactly do I go to find the version number for IntermountainHealthUTID? I had to log out, then go to the front page where I login. Or should I go to IntermountainHealthUTID store and see what I installed. That's weird and not really an industry standard.

1/5 stars

It'd be sweet to set a profile picture for me. If my doctor can set one, why cant I? It'd make the whole proxy switch thing way easier too. Are you going to tell me that my nurse does not want to see my smiling face ;-)

4/5 stars

Whoever wrote descriptions for the top left drop down menu really lost their energy after a while. Describing the profile menu item, what it does, excellent work, good information. Then down at the bottom "Glossary of Billing Terms: Terms of Glossary Billing". Welp if you dont care about then, why should I?

1/5 stars

How can this be an end to end product if I cant manage my pharmaceuticals. So, in one app I can schedule an appointment, I can manage my appointment, I can even see what happened in that appointment and see what kind of care I got. I can see some labs from that visit. And I can even pay for that visit and track it with my insurance and see my payment history.

Then, my doctor prescribed some drugs for my infection, where do I manage those? "Please download Intermountain Pharmacy" What! Thats the one thing that’s actually going to fix my problem? I need two apps now? What happened to "... brings powerful tools from across your health experience into one place."

1/5 stars

Bugs:

Updates: I recently went in to get my ticker checked with my primary care provider. They wired me up to the EKG and it was all good. I was excited to pop into IntermountainHealthUTID and see an update that said "Visit Summary Electrocardiogram EKG". 'No way, can I see my EKG and actually get to be a part of my healthcare experience like IntermountainHealthUTID description says I can?' Negative. First of all there are two visit summaries for the EKG, both have the same experience. In fact for the whole visit I have 5 "visit summaries". I believe that by definition defies the purpose of a summary. Maybe I should revert to calling my nurse for getting info on what happened.

But for kicks and giggles I wanted to click on that EKG tile. It took 3-5 seconds, so meh speed. Brings you to a summary page, that says:

- Caregiver provider not available (I'm pretty sure it was my primary care provider's MA who did it.)

- Location not available (It was your clinic, at your location, it said Intermountain on it. yuno...)

- Test results 0 available (Why did you tell me about this, you're killing me smalls.)

- Vitals (Alright I get it, I know I'm obese, next point.)

- Medication updates (These arent updates, these are all the meds I've had since forever, and they all say stopped except 2 of them. Maybe you consider it a feature to clean that up. I consider it a bug when it kills the user experience)

- Billing (Spinny spinny, spinny spinny, whats on Netflix, an error occurred while retrieving visit details)

Definitely 1/5 stars for that one, trying to shoot for a visit summary... you didn't summarize anything. A summary should aggregate the data and present it in a fancy and pleasing manner.

Notifications: I recieved a notification 1 day after the update actually showed up on my 'dashboard' page. That isn't useful, thats annoying spam. I already checked it out on IntermountainHealthUTID . Imagine Domino's dropping off a pizza and then telling me about it tomorrow. Not sure that helps. Then when I click on the super trustworthy link in the message that says nothing about My Health+, I am forwarded to a URL, that again says nothing about My Health+. Fish much? Then I login in and clench wondering if I'm going to give my credentials to someone or something not trustworthy. Then, the pièce de résistance I'm met with a "There was a problem loading the even. Please try again."

Nice try, but maybe 2/5 stars for that one. It wasn't a complete failure, I guess I got a message.

Problem Loading Info

Would love to write a real review but I keep getting a “We’re Sorry! There was an issue loading your information” when I login. Not only is that a useless error message but it’s frustrating since my MyHealth account is working fine.

By

Looks nice but won’t load info

It goes through all the SSO credentials then gives an error that it can’t load information.
