What is Connect Care?

The Intermountain Connect Care app is a telehealth app that allows patients to consult with Intermountain Healthcare clinicians for certain urgent care conditions using their phone or tablet. The app is available 24/7/365 and costs $59 per visit. The app is not appropriate for all conditions, and patients experiencing life-threatening medical emergencies should go to the nearest ER.

Awesome option!

I’ve used Connect Care four times now and had a positive experience each time. The providers have been excellent, compassionate, listen well, and have helped me. Connect Care has saved me time and money. My copay is cheaper when I see an online provider. I can wait in the privacy of my home and the wait has always been faster than when I have gone into physical clinics. I don’t have to worry about taking my kids with me or finding child care for them. The visits take less time. The providers have also given me notes for my employer when needed. It’s perfect for things that a doctor doesn’t need to actually conduct a physical evaluation to diagnose. If only they could find a way to do strep tests digitally! 🤣🤣 I will definitely use Connect Care in the future and I highly recommend it to others.

Terrible!

I wish I could give this a negative number! My daughter had impetigo symptoms and her face was breaking out. It was painful. We saw the doc on telehealth, he prescribed a topical and oral antibiotic but then never submitted the prescription!!!!! We waited half the day until we called the pharmacy and they said no prescription ever arrived. Meanwhile my daughters sores and discomfort continued to worsen. When I called to see if we can talk to the doc again, we were told we would have to pay for another appointment. They told us we needed to be approved for resubmitting a prescription and when I asked how long would that take, they couldn’t tell me!?!? So my daughter is in pain and instead of getting the medicine she needed to stop the spread of the lesions we waste the whole day getting the run around! I wish we could have emailed the doctor directly and ask what happened to our prescription or been able to call a receptionist and get a message to the doc. This was a terrible experience, a waste of our money, and everyone’s time.

Why bother leaving your house if you don’t have to?

Just a basic sinus infection...
This was the most fantastic experience! I spoke to a provider from the comfort of my own home. What could be better? I didn’t have to drive anywhere or sit in a waiting room exposing myself to any new cold bug. ConnectCare was super easy to use on my iPhone. I pre-filled some medical information and then just waited about 10mins to be connected to a provider. When she came on, we had a split screen showing the two of us with her wearing a headset with microphone. She was incredibly nice and patient and gave me some good advice. The whole thing couldn’t have been simpler. Will definitely use this again!!

Interface needs more platform testing

The care I eventually received was great, but the user interface of ConnectCare was clunky to say the least. I first tried to enroll on my ipad, but couldn’t even scroll down to the bottom required item on the form. A sit button pops up while there are still more fields of the form to fill in and floats over the prompts, making them difficult or impossible to read. Alas, once you forget your way all the way to the last quotation, you can’t fill in the required field because the persistent floating button obscures the entry field.

Then, after giving up and going through the process on my iPhone, and after inputting my insurance info (that last field I couldn’t get to) and proceeding, two screens later, I was prompted for the same insurance info AGAIN.

The care was great, ConnectCare needs some serious UX love!

waste of my time

I have had flu like symptoms, high fever, extreme nausea and vomiting, aches, etc. for three days now and finally contacted the doctor today because i wasn't making any improvements. The doctor told us he was sending in a prescription for anti nausea medication. My dad went to our pharmacy to pick it up, but no prescription had ever been submitted. We then went through two tiers of customer service just to be told it may take them 24 hours to get back to us and the best bet would be to do another online visit (pay more money.) We called and got a message to the doctor who proceeded to put a prescription in, yay! right? Wrong. The prescription was for a pill my insurance wouldnt even cover. We are now waiting for this to be resolved and its been a waste of me and my family's time. Just trying to get medicine to make me feel better has taken hours and we still have yet to have any solution. Absolutely ridiculous and extremely frustrating.

Intermountain Connect Care is the best thing ever!

I have kids who are high risk for flu, one of them tested positive today at instacare and negative for strep and after a thorough evaluation with an on-site doc, the one child who has Influenza, then the PA with connect care was then able to check the records, evaluate the medical histories and I was able to get my other high risk kids prophylactic coverage without having to drag the entire family into an urgent care. 🙏 Saved us all from being exposed to who knows what else was lingering in the waiting room. By the way, she was very nice and completely understanding of our situation. Love it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing, highly recommend!

I literally call doctors on connect care for everything. I find I use ConnectCare more than I ever used my local doctor. I feel these doctors are still able to personally connect with me and they always answer my questions and concerns.

The co-pay is cheaper on here than at a doctor’s office. No long lines, no waiting for appointments that run over, and no need to fight my kids to sit still while we wait. ConnectCare has truly been a huge timesaver for our busy life.

Bugs

Don’t try to use ConnectCare for more than one person in your family. With a nasty sinus infection that’s had me up since 4AM, I Just spent several minutes trying to get connected for my first Connect Care Visit. Filled out all the data including vitals, current temperature, medications, insurance info, set up email and password etc. Nurse tech asked me about my wife and said it was coming up under her name and she couldn’t help and would have some person contact me. Apparently the phone I’m using is assigned to my wife in their system and nothing else matters. No call from the person. I’ll be doing what I should have and calling my Drs office when they open. Waste of time. Ugh.

So grateful

We have been quarantined for 3 months and i was down to my last pill of depression medication. My doctor no longer was a doctor at the office I would normally see him at and didn’t know what else to do. I was going to go to the urgent care but am really nervous about covid still. I am so glad I tried this service first. They understood my situation and was able to refill my medication for the next 30 days. Enough time to find a new doctor. Awesome! Will use again!

Oh my gosh! ConnectCare saved me! I had woken up 2 nights in a row with symptoms that of course subsided when during the day. At 2:30AM I was miserable and my only option was a very expensive trip to the emergency room for a simple anti-biotic. ConnectCare worked seamlessly! The doctor was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, asked great questions! Now I’m off to the 24/7 pharmacy! I have meetings starting at 8:00 AM tomorrow which would have further delayed my ability to get help! And no waiting at Urgent care and risking getting someone else’s sickness! Thank you!

Quick and easy!!!

My daughter has been sick for three days. I was thinking about taking her to the insta care. Then I remembered this option. My husband and I figured we would try it out. This is a wonderful service and better than sitting in a clinic with other sick people. She hasn’t felt well enough to leave the house. To be able to stay in, talk to the P.A. and be done in minutes was great! Thanks for making this experience one we will remember. And we will spread the word to our family and friends.

2 hour wait…typical big business…not impressed

We goton and within 15 minutes we were second in line. We waited second in line for 40 minutes then the visit was cancelled by ConnectCare . When we got back on the ConnectCare the provider we were, second, in line to see was offline. We then were placed 6th in line for another provider. After being online for 20 minutes the patient service representative I chatted with asking to be moved up in line because the previous appointment was canceled, she disregarded the circumstances and gave me some pre written response. Started the process at 120pm and ended the appointment at 345. Typical big business. Understaffed providers and poorly trained customer service.

Online Visit

After two friends recommended the online medical visit, I decided to try it. I now highly recommend it, as well. I have the flu and barely want to get out of bed let alone go to the doctors office. It was easy to add ConnectCare and didn’t take too long to fill in the necessary info. Also, I only had to wait a few minutes before the nurse practitioner came on. She was thorough, kind and helpful. The entire process took approx 15 min. A huge timesaver compared to going into the the doctors office!

Awesome!!

This is great! It usually takes a couple days for me to be able to be seen at my doctors office, not with ConnectCare. The most I have waited is 15 mins when there were 2 patients ahead of me. It’s great how you can attach a picture for your doctor to see. Another great thing is that they always have a doctor available, no matter what time it is, this has saved me an expensive trip to the ER when my daughter had a high fever that turned out to be caused by strep.

Amazing

I absolutely loved Nurse Practioner Iva, she was very personable, didn’t have any of the “alright let’s just get this over with and onto the next” vibes, was genuine, sweet and seemed more than happy to help, she was super cute and she answered my questions, she gave me great advice and gave me great assurance. I didn’t have to wait super long and I was amazed that she could look down my throat with just the camera. It was super convenient and I honestly wouldn’t mind Iva being my PCP

Fast

This is awesome! So simple , fast and convenient. I am not sure why I waited so long to use ConnectCare since it is included in my insurance plan for $10 a visit, but now that I have used it I will be definitely using this in the future! I didn’t have to take any time off work/miss any work, I did it from the comfort of my home. The last thing people want to do is get ready and go out in public when they do not feel good. This resolves that problem.

Well this is genius

I knew I had a UTI but avoided going to instacare because I didn’t want to pay the money or sit & wait forever to be seen since I couldn’t miss work. I decided to try this and it was the best thing ever. I was connected within 5 minutes and received diagnosis very quickly and was given a prescription. I love that I got all this done in a total of 8 minutes as opposed to a couple hours at an instacare. I will definitely try ConnectCare again.

So easy to do

I hate going to the doctor for minor things like allergies and most of time you can’t get in quick enough so it’s not worth it. I have used this online video service twice now since it came out and I love it. I can get immediate help from my own bed and be done with it. I spent 5 minutes on the video chat and it cost me $40... and I don’t even care! It was worth every penny! Because a normal doctors visit would have cost me $100 or more.

Awesome App & Service

Having a convenient, quick & painless option available for medical advice & prescriptions is so awesome! Everybody wants a doctor in the family. You know the one you call to ask if you absolutely need to make that horrible all afternoon trip to the office. Finally we all have that doctor in the family! Best part is they don’t even mind if we call them ALL THE TIME for advice lol.

Dry cough and sore throat

I simply didn’t feel well enough to go into insta care for my cough and sore throat, so I gave ConnectCare a try and it was AMAZING! My physician so kind and friendly, & she could tell right away, by the sound of my voice, that I had been battling a cough and sore throat. I’m just so grateful I didn’t have to leave my home, but could get a prescription cough medicine sent to my pharmacy! Will definitely use this again, & will tell all my family about it!

Prescription nightmare

The Dr was great and my child had pink eye. Super easy and convenient. The problem was that the pharmacy never received the prescription. When I called the connect care support to see what the status of the prescription is, I was told I would hear back in 6 hours. After calling multiple times I am told we are at the mercy of the provider. I even called another instacare to see if they can access the records and send over the prescription and they told me there was never an official order. So after multiple phone calls again with connect care support, I still have not received my prescription and no one ones what’s going on.

It was so easy!

Just used the intermountain connect care app. It’s was fast and easy and I didn’t have to leave my bed. They sent my prescription over to the pharmacy and my husband was able to pick it up. All within an hour. AND with my insurance it only costed $10!! Everyone should do this!! It makes things so much easier when your not feeling well. Definitely will be recommending this to everyone!!

Great App

I was so sick with the flu I didn’t want to go anywhere, and I wanted to get help within 48 hours so that I could get Tamiflu. I used ConnectCare and got help and a prescription from a friendly, knowledgeable PA within minutes. What a relief I didn’t have to go anywhere! The only glitch was when I got an incoming call, the connection paused and we thought it was lost, but after declining the call we were able to reconnect no problem. Overall, it was an awesome alternative.

Great option for the busy!

Great for acute health problems. I work office hours and never able to take off work for doctor visits. This is a great option for me, without it I would leave issues unresolved and probably never go into an office to get it fixed. My provider was quick and friendly, she also offered a follow up visit included if the issue was not resolved.
