Crap app

What a crap app. When i tey to login it takes me to an api and then nothing just a blank page!!!!!

How is the device going to work if they can make a decent app????

Probably have to return the system.

Can’t Share to Others in House

I cannot share access to the device via GROHESense with my wife in my own home. Whenever there is a water shutdown event in the morning, she has to wake me up in order for me to turn it back on. Otherwise she has to go downstairs to the garage to manually turn it on. Disappointing and short sight of GROHESense developers.

Terrible software

GROHESense keeps freezing, not opening, and generally behaving badly. You have to remove it and re-download. Been like that for months. All the hallmarks of poor software design and a lack of proper testing. Grohe: this is embarrassing, you can do better.

Still complete garbage (new generation app)

Grohe just released the “new generation” software. They simply prove over and over how incompetent their software team is. GROHESense is slow, clunky, and notifications are completely broken. Want a permanent badge notification on your phone even after you have read and acknowledged the message within GROHESense ? This is GROHESense for you.

App no longer works

I am not sure what latest update caused it, but all I get now are a ton of error messages and failures to load. Devices cannot be accessed

App doesn’t work well at all

Our water shuts off often and when I hit the “check now” it just spins and spins and NEVER has it once worked. As a wife of a mobile app dev, whoever created and upkeeps GROHESense should just quit now or start working to fix it. It’s a shame because I always thought Grohe made quality products.

Non functional app

They updated my app. Now it logs I just fine but no longer can control the valve with app. Show the satellite stays but not the master valve. Always been a glitchy app but now totally non functional. 0 ability to contact support. Idea of hardware great but it’s useless without an app! God forbid if they ever stop supporting with the os updates.

Terrible app and support

Valve keeps shutting off water when my water softener runs regeneration cycle. Support has no solution apart from “manual pause” (that would work well at 2 am) or setting up sprinkler schedule. It seems like this device does not have any self-learning capabilities like moen flo. On top of that, there can only be one sprinkler schedule and so I’ll have to set up a really wide window to accommodate both water softener and actual sprinkler system. Which means the system will be unprotected for a wry wide window. And the sense guard device seems to randomly disappear from GROHESense and requires power cycling it.

Extremely disappointing

By far the worst-designed and most difficult to use smart home app I have ever used. The hardware may be good (hard to know) but with this interface it’s totally useless. I have had to delete and redownload GROHESense virtually every time I have needed to use it and the support has not been helpful. Grohe — you need to redesign GROHESense from the ground up. It is truly awful. Especially considering what this system costs. As it is, I could never recommend it, and it does not make me want to use any Grohe products in my new home.

Awful App - Replace it!!!

This is perhaps the absolutely worst app I have ever been “forced” to use. It crashes, becomes unresponsive, must be deleted from my phone completely an reinstalled to even launch, and regularly disconnects from my devices. It is such an unfriendly app to use and a pain that I am strongly considering ripping out all of my GROHE systems (I have 5 Sense units and an overall house value co trip system), and replacing them with a competing product, if only to have a smooth user experience. GROHE better wake up and do something about this!

Wish I never bought this product

The product itself is good in theory. However, GROHESense constantly disconnects from the device despite my Wi-Fi connection working perfectly.

I’ve had to reconnect every two weeks or so. Today GROHESense wouldn’t connect and told me my DHCP was disabled which it isn’t.

The team in the reviews tells you to email but they never get back to you. They are probably understaffed and/or undertrained.

But I already have paid almost $1,000 between install and the product. Would cost more to remove it too.

Just wish GROHESense worked. It should just work.

Terrible App

I constantly have to re down load GROHESense to get it to stop churning/thinking. It is not my internet connection as all my other apps work perfectly. I wish I had never purchase this GROHE product. If I have a shutoff It will take 2 or 3 tries to get it to stop saying I have a problem in order to restore water flow.
I was asked by GROHE to be part of a focus group to assist with further development of GROHESense . I never heard anything further.
Please overhaul GROHESense-there is a reason why it has such a low rating!

Good Hardware but bad software

Pro. Hardware is solid. You can tell its well built.

Software is terrible. It took me many many tries to connect the guard. The sensor even worse. Took me many many tries to connect and its showing offline. (Its not me or my internet) i suspect its iOS and GROHESense .

Another thing i want to add is firmware update requires me to press the connection button on the device. Most of us have this device because we have a second home and installed it under the basement.

App major fail

I have sense devices that GROHESense shows as connected but were actually off line.. that’s not good of your depending on the device shutting off the water if a pipe breaks..

I was sent a new unit as it would not connect, but GROHESense will not let me delete the old device .

In 2020 a company should be able to put out a much better app.. very poor .. guess I should have gone with a different company ..

Problems

Does not work well with sprinklers.

Water softener alerts Sense Guard to turn off

When my water softener goes into a regeneration cycle the Sense Guard turns off the water. As a result dirty water get circulated and coats my glassware.

I called GROHE support a couple of days ago and they said they will email me solutions.

I asked for a way to tell the Sense via its App when to ignore large water use…that is when my water softener will be regenerating.

They, at least as of yet, sent me nothing. I guess I have to call again and wait on hold for 45 minutes listening to horrible constantly repeating the same think holding message.

If I knew this was going to happen, I would never have paid over $500 for this gadget.

Including GROHESense keeps saying it can’t complete its test but I can find out what course of action I should take.

Garden sprinkler mode functionality does not work

Garden sprinkler mode functionality does not work. System still shuts off water while garden sprinklers are running, even though garden sprinkler mode is enabled during the correct time window.

Update:
The good - GROHE was actually right in detecting high volume of water. Found out a toilet was running. Fixed that and the alarms stopped. Today we had to have two water heaters replaced. When they started filling up the water heaters, Grohe alerted and shut off water detecting a pipe break? Anyway it was a lot of water running.
The not so good - sometimes when clearing alert messages and trying to get the water turned on, it keeps alerting and shutting off again. Then it detaches from our wireless network and I have to go through a wifi connection process. Eventually all is good.

In past couple of months, the water will shut off even though we are at only 2/3 daily average water usage. It keeps saying you’ve exceeded daily water. It refuses to turn back on! I had to turn off the notification for high water usage/turn off water in order to turn our water back on. Then the water would turn on however the device isn’t worth two cents if you can’t depend on the warnings or have to leave them off!!! I’ve turned the high usage notification back on now that the water finally stayed on. This has happened twice in the past couple of months. Thank God we were at home and able to verify no water leaks. PLEASE GET THIS FIXED ASAP!!!!

Grohe is a 5-Star Company

I have two sense guards and various other sense hockey pucks. I had some serious issues with them when I first purchased them. I worked closely with customer service in Germany and all of them were resolved. Grohe listened to my concerns and fixed everything to my satisfaction.

Greatly improved

The new version of GROHESense is a huge improvement over the older version. Thanks for your hard work.
