Festool is more for this app than the end user. If you don’t have the receipt from 5 maybe 10 years ago then you’ll never get further than the first useless screen.

App is unusable for older tools unless you have retained the receipt. I have half a dozen Festools from one to ten years old, some received as gifts for which I do not have receipts. I do not even recall when they were purchased. Do not bother with Festool unless you have a brand new tool and the sales receipt.

It is a PITA to register any tools if you order them off Amazon due to no invoice and you cannot control the on/off of dust extractors with Festool .

why is Festool constantly running in the background? It’s the only app that drains my phone battery the most. 35% usage in the last 24 hrs (haven’t used Festool at all) it’s because of Festool running in the back even though I have my phone set to not run refresh/run this specific app in background. I also have most of not all the features turned off aside from my tools being registered. I would avoid Festool until they get this figured out no telling what else kind of things Festool is doing in the background if it’s not following the settings I have set for it that’s pretty fishy.

Such a waste of time and effort. Promising one thing and delivering another. Just like this app customer service. Buy a product. Register said product, but you can’t register the batteries and you certainly can’t get a timely response from this app customer service despite a promise of a return call, rendering Festool useless for any battery upgrades, tool software upgrades, blah blah blah. I have lots of this app products. Doubt I’ll be getting any more. 3/10. Must try harder.

I have tools from 2017 and earlier that we’re registered by the dealer. I access many resources for tips on usage, this will also be a good resource. Looking forward to the update that lets me access tools already registered by serial number. I need all the help I can get.

Festool could be better and I suspect it will over time. For example it would be nice with the headphones to change the parameters instead of on the device which is hard to control when it’s stuck in your ear. The tools are excellent so I’m not too concerned about Festool . If you are a tradesperson or a remodeler it’s hard to beat the quality of this app. Once you use it it’s hard to use something else. Do I own other brands absolutely, but this is the Mercedes of power tools. You pay more but get more and it’s consistent across the lineup. I would equate it to Apple ecosystem.

When registering the equipment under the tab for dealer information, not seeing an option for United States as a location so had to leave that blank.
